Until the sun goes down.

In the city of angels, under cover of night.

People are drowning in a sea of light.

Devil holding your life on the line.

Angel for calling, rain for time.

Doesn't gotta give, doesn't gotta bring.

Ill -dignified.

Oh, baby.

Look at me.

Turmoil. Gee, this is the hanged man.

Dishonesty. Some, uh, lies have been told.

Hey, dog mumbo jumbo, let's hit the beats.

I'm not all that superstitious.

I'll walk under ladders. Black cats don't freak me out.

But last night... There was a full moon.

It's my opinion that if bad things are going to happen, they're going to happen

during a full moon.

I broke my leg skiing during a full moon.

My wife, Gail, filed for divorce during a full moon.

Ah, the memories.

A full moon.

And her client, Mrs.

Vanderkellen, wanted to know if her husband was being a wayward boy.

the old playing her with wine routine.

Okay.

What's he doing?

Warm it up.

You're comfortable.

What? What?

It ain't Gibraltar, but that's one big rock.

Uh -huh.

Uh -huh.

See?

A tower.

Big. With three peaks.

Inti.

A chimney at my house.

It's incredible.

How'd you know?

Well, the tower card and the chariot card has one, two, three inti little

Cosmic combo.

Okay.

We got to hear what old bad boy Bert's saying. So how do we get this over

Oh, yeah. Get ready to bet.

All right. All right. Well, come on.

Hey.

Oh, excuse me. I'm so sorry. We're not very good at this.

I'm sorry.

Go ahead.

Excuse me.

Thank you very much, Destiny.

Wow.

Let's see.

It's a cup.

The lover's card.

I see a new man in your life. A handsome lad of your hope deity.

To die for.

Uh -oh.

Your aura just hiccups.

Something wrong?

Well, I cannot shake the feeling something bad's going to happen.

Yeah. I can feel that.

You know what? You should go see my friend Mitch Buchanan.

He's a private investigator.

He could quiet your karma.

Thanks.

Oh, baby.

I just love this necklace.

No.

Oh, baby.

The hangman.

And the ten of swords.

What? Bad news?

Death.

Someone's close to me.

Excuse me.

Would I find Mitch Buchanan upstairs?

Actually, you'll find him right here. Mitch, what can I do for you?

Well, it's a little embarrassing.

Hey, get out of here. Come on, puppy.

For me?

You shouldn't have.

Oh, baby.

Who are you?

We're private investigators.

You're, uh, White.

White?

Yeah, Mama thought you were cheating on her.

And stealing her jewelry.

Nice necklace.

You've been a very bad baby.

That is your name, isn't it? Why?

bad shape.

Why don't you buy a car?

I don't want to drive, Miss.

We're in harmony with nature.

Carbon monoxide makes Mother Earth hot.

Positive core.

Hey, uh, what happened to my friend Victoria?

I told her to wait, but as soon as I got back, she was gone. She split.

There you go, kid.

Hey.

Hey. Hey.

What's the deal?

She's okay.

Ecru. Beg your pardon? Ecru. That's the vegetable.

That's okra. Ecru is an off -white color. A stately, powerful, yet

graceful color.

Stately. Powerful. Yet graceful.

It's a good professional color, don't you think?

It's so female.

Sorry, I went with my instinct.

What would be a good male color?

Black.

Black and blue.

Great. Our office will look like a furnished brood.

Ecker was named a client -friendly color in 9 out of 10 designer -oriented

surveys. 9 out of 10?

Black and blue.

A nightmare.

Exactly. You like Ecker? In a salad.

It's like a Veda myth.

What just happened on my bike, you know?

It was just like Cartoa's nightmare in the Forest of the Screams, remember?

Uh -uh.

Uh -uh. Well, he saw the world through the eyes of the predator.

That's what I did.

Oh, no.

Death. The body was discovered by a jogger just a short time ago. The

office has initially listed the cause of death as strangulation.

The victim, Victoria Magruder, had recently moved to the Venice Beach area

her native... I saw her strangled through his eyes.

You saw who strangled?

Her, the princess of the shining flame. Remember that redhead I sent you?

Yeah. Well, I read her tarot cards, and she got the ace of cups and the lover's

card, and I told her, you're going to meet a man to die for.

I guess I was right.

Bummer.

Destiny says she saw the lady from Scotland strangled. She wasn't

there, she was psychically there.

Okay, it's weird.

But who knows? I mean, there are some things we just can't explain.

Hope we got an A in algebra.

Nobody can explain that.

Anyway, I was headed for the coroner's office and they were... Retracing the

route.

Why?

Garecki.

Oh, come on, tell me you know about Garecki. Oh, sure.

Garecki.

Uh... A nice color. Shade darker than that crew.

He's not a color. He was a killer.

Derek, he was a guy back in Vermont.

Killed a little 10 -year -old girl in the 40s.

Her best friend saw the whole thing.

So intense, her mind totally blocked it out.

So you're like 20 years? Uh -huh. 20 years to recall it.

Repressed memory.

Sally, Jesse, wrap me up. Sally, Jesse had repressed memory?

She did a show about people who did. I didn't see that one. I'll have it on

tape. Oh, my God. Why did I leave New York?

All right, listen.

This woman, you write her tarot cards a lot of times, right? Mm -hmm.

All right, she told you a lot of things about her life.

Yeah, she told me about Scotland, and she told me about her grandmother's

diamond ring.

Oh, um, he took it, by the way. Kill her.

There.

There's your Scotland, your princess with a diamond on top of her head, your

romance to die for, and your strangler, the hangman's noose.

What are you saying? The destiny bottled up her memories about this woman, then

the cork popped, and she imagined she saw her strangled? If the metaphor fits,

wear it.

Because she's your mom, that's why.

Hobie, it won't kill you.

No, don't, don't, don't, don't do that. Ow.

Call waiting is not a good thing.

By the way, Destiny was right about the diamond ring.

Speculation. No, no, no. I talked to the coroner and they found marks on her

ring finger.

Marks that could have been made by a ring being yanked off.

Could have.

Could have been Nick slicing carrots.

Look, Mitch, I like this.

It's hard not to.

But you gotta admit, the girl is a little sophisticated at times.

She's harmless.

You got the hots for it. Hey!

What, you got a bigger name on the other line?

Ooh, Kelsey, huh?

Well, look who's here.

Who, baby?

What do you want?

Just wanted you to know that since you meddled in my life, the former Mrs.

Wonderful has thrown me out of the house, cut off my allowance, and filed

divorce.

Well, you're a bad boy, Cookie. Yeah, well, don't be surprised if I get even.

You're right.

Money. You see any money? The laundering, maybe?

I see loneliness.

Me? Wrong guy.

Never lonely.

I've got the job of my dreams. I've got my cat. I've got cable.

Okay. A little lonely.

Oh, but I also see a new love life.

Oh, terrific. I've tried to see one of the five, seven, short, little haircut

the whole neighborhood.

Yeah.

What's the matter?

Bernard, do you believe me?

What, about her?

No, uh, about the murder I thought.

Well, I figure if I believe one, I gotta believe the other, and you know what?

I sure could use a new love life.

No.

No!

What is it?

again, Mitch. Whatever it is, it's scaring the hell out of us. What? Talk

What do you see?

It's a man.

The king of wine.

Who's that?

I read his tarot cards.

No.

Negative. He's in really bad danger.

Where is he?

I see water and then canals and bridges.

That's Venice Beach.

Come on. Come on. Come on. Keep talking. Just describe it. It's okay.

I think I know the house.

No, no.

It's okay. Look at me. Look at me. I promise you, nothing will happen to you.

Now, come on. Come on.

Let's go.

Okay.

Come on.

It's okay. No, I don't want to. I know he's in there. It's okay.

The glass door.

Call the paramedics.

He's not breathing.

Yeah, I'm going to need the paramedics at 401 Delft Street, please.

Four. Five.

Three.

Four. Five.

One. Two. Three.

Four.

I'll check it out.

It would have been our first anniversary come November 8th or 9th, but I get

confused. Tony was my fourth husband. He was my stepfather.

I'm Lyle Abbott.

I tried to fight the guy off, but he was huge. He was strong.

He was choking me big time, and I couldn't breathe.

Why do you think he broke in, sir?

I don't know. Maybe he thought we had money in the house or something.

And I see through the killer's eyes.

What do you mean, ma 'am?

I saw him strangled.

Could we finish this later?

Sure. Thanks.

I don't want to do it, watch it ever again.

Don't ask me, okay?

Okay.

It's over, huh?

The muckle beach type, you know, tattoo, ponytail, the gnarly beard.

Hi, Destiny.

I guess you were right.

Someone close to me did die.

We're looking for you. Hey.

You okay?

Yeah, just, uh... Spring cleaning my aura.

You know, I've been thinking a lot about what Lyons said.

Yeah, me too.

I mean, storing away memories of people and then letting my imagination trick

me.

It's weird, but I guess it could happen.

What I don't get is how did I know there was going to be a murder before there

was a murder?

Destiny, I heard about these tests they do in Russia.

They put one person in one room.

And another person in another room.

And one person can tell what the other person is doing, saying, and thinking.

It's called, uh... It's empathic.

Right, empathic.

You can do that, can't you?

Destiny, that's a gift.

It's more like a curse.

It's just so confusing, you know? I just, I've decided to keep my brain

all thoughts.

Well, if anyone can do that, you can.

Thanks, Mitch.

Would you like a cup of coffee?

Okay.

She's so scared she won't read tarot cards anymore.

Well, then, she can read the bumps on people's heads.

You're not getting an idea.

I don't think I want to hear it.

I think we should hire Destiny.

I knew I didn't want to hear it. No, I'm not kidding you. She figured out the

files. She exercised the phone system.

She can cook.

Mitch, tofu isn't food.

It's a fungus.

I mean, come on, I like the girl, but work with her?

That's my dead body.

Thank you.

No, you know what?

She's a nice girl. I feel bad for her. She's going through a lot of hell right

now. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes. They found this shit in the bar.

Somebody's got a secret admirer.

Secret admirer, huh? Yeah, the card says destined.

Whose? Victoria, the redhead who died.

Oh, God.

He was here.

Well, still is.

Let's go. No, no, wait a minute.

We know a guy who steals jewelry from women and gives it to other women.

Ooh, baby. Absolutely.

Well, only the killer could have the ring.

And destiny could be his next target.

And we don't take our eyes off destiny.

24 -step.

Okay, wait a minute, y 'all. I mean, let's listen to the description here.

Muscle beach type, blonde hair, long.

That's not ooh, baby.

Well, maybe he wore a disguise or something.

Nobody wears disguises.

Since Ryan was busy tailing ooh, baby Bert around town, it was up to me and

Garner to watch over Destiny.

The key to surveillance is the ability to blend in with your surroundings.

Now this card represents danger, so you might want to take a few extra

precautions. Be a little more careful.

The outcomes could change at any time, but if the obstacle changes...

It's, uh, someone who's got a... Very influential.

Oh!

Oh! Oh!

Oh! Oh!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!

Oh! Oh! Oh!

Let me tell you, ma. See the girl?

Eyes as blue as the ocean.

Hair the color of gold.

What you think, ma?

What you think? What you think, papa?

Mama, what you think?

Hey,

he's about 6 '2", big old belly, orangey kind of hair, spiked out like he stuck

his finger in a socket. You seen him?

This is you, gonna watch you fall.

Maybe the connection isn't with the victims.

Destiny, maybe the connection's with the killer.

Maybe.

All I know is that I keep seeing people getting killed and that I might be next.

I don't want to talk about it anymore.

Forgive me.

Look, I promise you, we're going to catch this guy, okay?

Divorce is painful, but you'll heal in time.

So, you got to keep this house and the desert condo in the settlement.

That's very nice.

What? What do you see?

Oh, no.

It's too intense.

It's draining all my energy.

Oh, God.

He's going to kill me again.

Who? Who's he going to kill?

Oh, God.

It's Ryan.

Talk to me. Where is she?

Where is she? No, I don't want to. He said I didn't have to.

We're talking about Ryan here. Look at me. I know you're scared, but he's going

to kill her, and you can help her. Now, where is she?

I'm not sure.

Beautiful, how does it end?

Could you call me?

You're here. No, on your cell phone. The killer is going after Ryan, man. Get

your car. I'll get my gun. I'll be off.

I feel death.

Keep watching. Keep watching. Whatever you see, you tell me, okay?

Do me.

Destiny, talk to me. What do you see?

Cliffs. Cliffs like a bluff.

The ocean. I see the ocean.

Statues on a fountain.

What kind of statues?

What kind of statues?

They're, um, what do you call them?

Gargoyles. There's two.

Gargoyles. Two of them.

What else?

Okay, okay, now, what else do you see, Destiny?

I see light. I see... A beam sweeping through the skies.

It's a lighthouse.

Bring the other thing to the wing. Yeah, I got it. Gargoyle. I'm on it, I'm on

it.

Put up.

I'll meet you around back.

You shouldn't have done it.

You shouldn't have.

Drop your gun.

Throw it behind you.

Now!

I didn't want to hurt Lyle, huh?

She never hurt you.

I was there.

At night.

I heard your friend.

He wanted to give Destiny the job.

It would have made her so happy.

Over my dead body, you said.

Is this a fear speech?

To you, but not to me.

Put the gun down, Lyle. Let's talk this through, okay? Nobody needs to get hurt.

Come on, beat Mark, Lyle.

I love Destiny.

done anything for.

I already have.

Get the gun!

Mr.

Ellaby? Thank you, Mr. Buchanan.

Well, we found this in his room.

It's exactly like the one you painted, like he copied you.

He did.

He watched me do it. We shared the same spirit for a while.

Okay, well, one of these days, I'm going to write all this down, and when I'm

ready, I'm going to read it and figure it out.

I just, I can't explain it, you know? I can't explain it away, either.

So, what do you want to do with this?

Kartoa could only escape the forest of screams by covering the eyes of the

predator.

The guys are downstairs.

You want to join in?

In a little while.

Okay. All right. Well, we'll see you downstairs.

Thank you. You take care.

Hey,

look who's here. Hey, Kim.

You okay?

Yeah, thanks.

Anytime. Really? How about never again?

Why are you so fidgety?

I feel like somebody's... Somebody's watching me.

In the night It can blow your dreams away

There's a price you've got to pay.

You can't run in the night.

You can hear the baron's call as another angel

falls.

From the grave to the boulevard, in the blink of an eye, the devil is watching

as we fly into the night.

You can hear the siren call.

As the never angels fall.

Into the night.
