I was ashamed of my family, of our history with failure,

a history of screaming at each other instead of actually talking, listening,

you know?

A history of not taking responsibility for our own actions.

And this group, this little family that we have here,

I mean, some of you I've known for a while.

And some of you are new.

But this group, twice a week, this group saved my life.

And it was the love here that got me through a lot of those really hard days.
