any kind of a dope smuggling ring that
Milt says has been going on in school.

So far we've been able to keep it under
wraps.

But if the parents who support this
program, most of them pretty influential

people, if they should ever get wind of
what's been happening, they'd probably

withdraw their support.

And all the good we've been doing for
the majority of these kids would simply

right down the drain.

If the school was forced to close down,
what would happen to them?

For the type of kids we get, fresh start
is the end of the road.

They'd go back on drugs, wind up in jail
mostly, or worse.

Now, do you have a replacement in mind
yet for Frank?

I suppose we'd choose a new counselor
the same way we chose Frank from one of

the graduates.

Yeah, well, how about if you change that
and went with an outsider?

Me. You're thinking of going undercover,
aren't you?

Look, if I could go in there as a
counselor, if there is a dope problem, I

find out how it's being distributed and
by whom.

I've supported the Fresh Start program
for a long time, and I would hate to see

it go under.

But there's no call for you to take that
kind of risk.

Ever since we busted Frank out of that
street gang, and ever since we had him

sign up for the Fresh Start program,
he's been a model for every one of the

young addicts at that school.

I would just like to know once and for
all what really happened. All my

They will spot a phony in a second.

Chicago. Now, I know I wasn't into

drugs, but I think I know the lifestyle
pretty well.

Now, if things weren't getting so bad,
I'd just say forget about it.

But quite frankly, Barnaby, this is
exactly the kind of help we need.
