bank robber, escaped from a prison road

gang working in a national park in
northern Oregon.

Inspector Lewis Erskine, who was in
Portland at the time, immediately

-the -scene supervision of the search
for the escaped federal prisoner.

But I could see he was desperate.

these mountains, Inspector, so I came

right out.
