Wilderness.

On the afternoon of June 27th, while
picnicking on the beach of the Hidalgo

National Forest in Northern California,
Emily Willis, an 18 -year -old waitress

in the nearby Hidalgo Valley, was
forcefully abducted.

Her companion, John Evanhower, was found
a short time later by a forest ranger.

Because the crime took place in this
National Forest Preserve, the case was

referred to the FBI.

Inspector Lewis Erskine, who was in
nearby San Francisco, immediately flew

Hidalgo to take charge of the
investigation.

And you positively identified the man as
Walker O 'Byrne? Yes, sir. The ranger

that called us said the description
fitted him, and John Ebenauer, the man

was assaulted, made positive
identification from the mugshot.
