Company, New York, took place on a
Monday afternoon.

24th, the first ransom note arrived by

special delivery letter.

The envelope was postmarked Hartford,
Connecticut.

Because the stolen property had
apparently crossed state lines, the FBI

the case at once.

How did this story get out in the first
place, Mr. Toler?
