In 1963, eight desperate men perpetrated
one of the most spectacular robberies

in the United States, the $2 million
Texas armored car robbery.

But with the arrest of the seventh man,
Olin McKay, in January 1968, the case

seemed to reach a dead end.

Thousands of hours of investigative work
had still not uncovered the whereabouts

of the gang leader, Emery Hale.

And now, the possible existence of a
shadowy ninth man.

had been revealed for the first time.

Now, Lewis, where do we stand? How many
were there?

Three. Was Hale there?

No, just Orrin McKay and a couple of
local hoods he got for the one job.

We interviewed McKay's accomplices.
They're being charged with attempted
