Robert Griswold was abducted from a
Kansas City office building on June 7th.

Before the case file was closed, it
would lead the FBI to the attempted

$3 million from the vaults of Hill
Dempsey, a brokerage house in San Diego.

But this was not known at the time, and
a preliminary investigation by local

police failed to uncover a motive for
the crime.

24 hours later, the assistance of the
Federal Bureau of Investigation was

requested.

Almost at once, FBI procedures unearthed
an unusual fact.

The victim was the son of a fugitive who
had been sought by the Bureau for over

six years.
