Well...

where is my mother?

[ Episode 11 ]

She's in good health right now.

You'll be able to see her soon.\NDon't worry.

But...

there's something you must do first.

Something I must do?

Feed this to the King.

What's this?

It's poison.

Kill the King with your own hands.

The poison will not spread\Nimmediately. You will have time.

Starting tomorrow night,\NI will send a litter near

the side gate of the palace\Nat seven o'clock every night.

Get on it discreetly after\Nyou accomplish the mission.

What are you talking\Nabout right now?

You are telling me to poison\NHis Majesty with my own hands?

Why would I?

No, I will never do that!

You will have to.

Your mother's life depends on it.

- Sir!\N- Do you think that is everything?

The owner of Buyong Agency, your colleague,\NHong Ki Ho, and his family.

All of their lives depend on it.

If you refuse to follow the order,

I will reveal that you are the\Ndead queen's twin sister.

If so,

everyone who participated\Nin your lie will die.

Are you...

threatening me right now?

Don't even try to take\Nthe poison yourself.

That won't fix anything.

Is this the greater cause you\Nand the Prince spoke of?

Starting the new world\Nusing such a dirty method?

Greater causes call for sacrifices.

If my secret is revealed,

neither the Prince nor\Nyou will remain unharmed.

This is about taking over the throne.

Do you think we are not\Nready to take such a risk?

So if you want to save everyone...

kill the King.

Remember.

You have three days.

My mother...

I need to know if my mother\Nis indeed safe first.

Please tell me where she is.

You should get going for now.

The King's concubine shouldn't\Nbe outside of the palace for too long.

I will reconnect with you.

My Lady!

Are you okay?

You look so pale...

Did something happen?

Jeolla had a severe\Ndrought this year.

The people in the region will\Nhave a tough time this winter.

I will send them a letter saying\Nto reduce their tributary food.

Send it through the Royal Secretariat.

Yes, Your Majesty.

What is the time?

It has not even been 30 minutes\Nsince the last time you inquired.

Consort Hong has not\Nreturned yet either.

Did I ask you that?

Just answer the questions I ask.

Report to me as soon as\NConsort Hong returns to the palace.

Yes, Your Majesty.

You already told me that too.

I successfully gave her the poison.

But...

she wanted to see her mother first.

If you let her,

she will demand\Nher mother's release.

Wouldn't it be better to calm her\Ndown by telling her how she is?

If we tell her that she is safe,

it might motivate her to proceed.

All right.

You may do that.

But our fate depends\Non this as well.

- We'll have to be careful.\N- Yes.

Sir.

You must remember what\NI told you a long time ago.

- If this plan fails...\N- It won't fail.

We lost Kang Yi Soo

and Hong Ki Ho turned\Nhis back on us.

I will walk toward

the new world with you,\NYour Excellency.

I will make sure to prove\Nthat they're wrong

and we're right.

My Lady.

His Majesty told me\Nto bring you to him.

Do you mean now?

Yes, immediately. Right now.

His Majesty told me to find\Nout when you are returning.

He kept pushing me out\Nto come and check.

I almost froze to death.

Please come.

Did you have a pleasant\Nvisit with your mother?

Yes.

But...

you look pale.

Why are you trembling so much?

It must be from staying\Nout for too long.

Are you feeling ill?

Let's go back inside.

No, Your Majesty. I'm fine.

Are you sure you are all right?

I am really all right.

Did you not summon me\Nto say something?

I just wanted to show\Nyou this place.

This is...

This has been my favorite place\Nsince I was the crown prince.

Whenever I did not want to study

or had worries, I used to come here.

Oftentimes...

I used to think of you here as well.

I always wanted to come here\Nwith you at some point.

I finally get to do that now.

I want to show you the places

where I was born and raised in

with all of my wonderful memories.

Slowly, one by one.

Kill the King.

Why do you look troubled?

Why are you always\Nso sweet to me?

I lied and deceived you.

What do you mean, deceive me?

What are you talking\Nabout all of a sudden?

Do you feel guilty about\Nsaying you are Hong Yeon?

You do not have to worry about\Nthat. It is all in the past.

That is not all.

What do you mean by that?

It is nothing.

I apologize, Your Majesty.

I would like to go back\Nto my chamber.

Then, go back and get some rest.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Where are you coming from?

- The thing is...\N- Did you see His Majesty?

Yes, Your Highness.

Do you take me lightly,\NConsort Hong?

I told you to behave properly.

I definitely warned you.

It is not like that...

I am worried I might\Ndisturb His Majesty

for he is busy\Ngoverning the country,

even I cannot see him easily\Nalthough I am the queen.

Forgive me.

You should know your place.

It will not end just with\Na warning next time.

The King is only\Nseeing Consort Hong

- neglecting the queen?\N- Yes.

He did that on the first\Nnight of the wedding.

There are many eyes and\Nears around, as you know.

I understand what you mean.

I did not welcome the\Nqueen wholeheartedly either,

but the queen needs\Nto be respected

to maintain the order\Nwithin the inner court.

I am worried that awful rumors\Nmight spread inside and

outside the palace.

What is King thinking?

He took in the queen,

yet he is ignoring her like that.

Sometimes I feel a bit strange

when I see Consort Hong.

Sometimes she seems\Nlike a different person.

Please do not think\Ntoo much of it.

It is probably because she got\Nemotional after seeing her mother today.

What happened to the clue\NI asked Wal to look into?

I do not like how lazy he is,

but he must have found\Nsomething as a former informant.

I will send Officer Han along.

I need to find the evidence\Nas soon as possible.

That way, everything\Nwill get back to normal.

You said you saw a man\Nin a straw hat last time, right?

You just need to sit\Nthere and tell him

how his eyes and mouth looked.

This hyungnim is a fantastic artist.

You can't tell if it's a\Npicture or a real person.

Help me out.

Aigoo, I'm busy\Npreparing for the day.

Give me the washcloth!\NLet me do it.

I'll do it. You just sit here\Nand describe it to him.

Hyungnim will do\Nall the work, I said.

Sit down, sit down.

- Okay, fine. Scrub hard!\N- Yes, yes...

Please watch this, okay?

Get started.

Go ahead, ma'am...

He had slanted eyes...

and the eyebrows were thick

and dark like that.

Aigoo!

Give me! You did a lousy job.

What are you talking about?

Even flies might slip on it.

Are you done describing?

He did draw it similarly.

Aigoo, Hyungnim.

May I have a look?

Oh, let's see.

The spy at the Royal Investigation\NBureau contacted me.

He said the owner of the Buyong\NAgency visited Kim's barracks.

Just as I expected.

The King is retracing\Nyour steps using him.

We can no longer let\Nhim run amok.

Kill him discreetly.

Yes, sir.

Did you know that the queen's\Nfamily gets military rights?

I'll start an army.

And you will be the person in charge.

Me, sir?

You must know why

I let you in the Kim family\Nas a hunter back then.

It was to train you as the\Nbravest henchman of mine.

Make the entire army\Nan elite force like you.

If Young Ji bears a child\Nfor the Lee family,

I can have Joseon in\Nthe palm of my hands.

For that to happen,

we should prepare in\Nadvance, don't you think?

- The queen is hopeless already.\N- Pardon?

What do you mean...

His Majesty is refusing a conjugal visit\Narranged by the Ministry of Royal Affairs.

One should look at the sky\Nto reach for the stars.

The queen isn't the problem.\NIt's the other one.

The rumor that His Majesty\Nonly cares about Consort Hong

reached even the\NPalace of Ministers.

That is why it's a serious problem.

He is allowed to visit

the concubine's villa\Nwhenever he wants to without

the Ministry of Royal Affairs\Ngetting involved.

Geez...

She's a concubine,\Njust like Consort Kim.

But how come Consort Kim's villa\Nis left unvisited like a cold room?

- Cousin.\N- What do you mean, cold room?

How dare you say that to\NConsort Kim, Nephew?

I was just worried, that's all.

- What?\N- Enough is enough!

How dare you argue\Nin front of me?

How come whenever you gather...

If there's a way to\Nprevent conception,

there would be no problem whether\Nthey share a bedroom or not.

We just need to prevent her\Nfrom having a child.

Both the queen and Consort Hong.

Don't even try to take\Nthe poison yourself.

That won't fix anything.

I got it from Wal.

It is an artist's rendering of\Nthe man named Gae Pyeong.

This is that man's face?

He does not look as\Nintimidating as expected.

I imagined him to look\Nlike a cow thief.

Go to Wal and give him an\Norder when the day breaks.

Tell him to spy on Jo Heung Gyeon's\Npeople and find his trace.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

You are getting one\Nstep closer at a time.

Perhaps you should share this\Ngood news with Consort Hong.

I will prepare your\Nvisit to her chamber.

No.

Leave her alone for tonight.

Yes, Your Majesty.

The greater cause?

You were a scary person.

What are you doing out here?

The wind is cold.

Is the letter for that woman ready?

Yes.

I'll deliver it myself. Give it to me.

I heard His Majesty never\Nvisits the Queen's Palace.

He is too busy with\Naffairs of state...

You do not need to be\Nproud in front of your father.

You should get closer to\NHis Majesty at times like this.

Take good care of him

and stay on his side\Nno matter what.

If all you do is sitting and\Nwaiting in the Queen's Palace,

you won't draw\NHis Majesty's attention.

You should visit him first.

You understand what\NI'm saying, don't you?

How would I dare to approach him...

Did you desire to become\Nthe queen just to be

humiliated over such a thing?

No.

I should go to the North Gate?

I'm not sure why, but

His Excellency Baek Ja Yong\Nsaid I'd find out

once I go there with you.

What a coincidence.

Your Excellency...

How come you are in the palace?

Step aside for a moment.

You must have been\Nwaiting for this news.

It's a letter your mother wrote.

"I'm doing well physically\Nand mentally thanks to

His Excellency Baek Ja Yong.\NDon't worry.

I feel like I'm dreaming\Nevery day since I found you.

I'll wait for the day when I get\Nto meet my dear daughter."

That's what it says.

What are you doing right now?

Do you really have to do this?

Were you always like this?

There are two days left now.

You don't have time to hesitate.

We have our people in\Nthe palace as well.

You are always\Nconnected with us.

Don't do anything risky.

What brings you to\Nthe palace, Prince?

Well, I wanted to say hello\Nto the new queen.

But I heard princes are not\Nallowed in the Queen's Palace.

So I'm on my way out now.

I see.

Isn't that Consort Hong over there?

I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'd like to congratulate\Nyou even though it's late.

Everyone is talking in the market.

That you have the power now since\Nyour daughter became the queen.

That's just a chatter\Nof the ignorant people.

I'm just assisting\NHer Royal Highness

so she could bear\Nan heir to the throne.

Why are you laughing?

I just remembered when you\Nvisited me to serve me last time.

We're here to take you with us,\NYour Majesty.

You called me...

"Your Majesty!"

back then, didn't you?

Isn't that funny?

We're both standing here acting\Nas if we forgot all about it.

I'll get going now.

His Excellency Jo Heung Gyeon?

So you're telling me to see\Nif this guy is around him.

That was his order.

- Why?\N- What?

Why is he suddenly watching\NHis Excellency Jo Heung Gyeon?

You say "why" to the king's order?

- Shut up and do what you're told to...\N- Well...

I didn't say I won't do it.

I will. I will do it, but...

I need a reason to be able to do it.

Is His Excellency Jo Heung Gyeon\Nreally the culprit?

If so...

is the queen's father...

- Shut up and do what you're told.\N- Yes.

Why is he wearing a straw\Nhat during the day?

S***...

Your Majesty.

You seem upset today.

Did you have another\Ndream by chance?

Why are you always sweet to me?

I lied to you and fooled you.

I'm scared of water.

I almost drowned once\Nwhen I was a child.

But you were on a boat\Nwith me last time.

If I became different than I was,

if I became someone else...

what would you do?

Well, yes.

Those lanterns were pretty.

Don't you think I've changed?

If so, do you like me

better now better than\Nwhen I was more womanly?

When I was the crown prince,\NI met you as a child.

My apologies.

I don't really...

I thought you forgot everything\Nabout our childhood memories.

I told you that, didn't I?

That I forgot about it all.

Thinking about it now, something\Nhas been off all along.

What is?

I will go to Consort Hong's\Nchamber tonight.

Let her know in advance.

Tonight, did you say?

Yes, His Majesty\Nwanted you to know.

You should get ready first.

I will go to the royal kitchen\Nand request dishes for tonight.

His Majesty is going\Nto Consort Hong's chamber?

Yes, Your Highness.

How could it be?

He hasn't even come to\Nthe Queen's Palace yet.

Your Highness.

Father was right.

Sitting and waiting here\Ndoes not change anything.

Your Majesty.

Her Majesty, the Queen is here.

Your Majesty, it is getting late.

Where are you headed to?

What are you doing here\Nso late at night then?

And you showed up so suddenly.

I have something to\Ntell you urgently...

I will listen to that later.

Please don't go.

You cannot go to Consort Hong.

You know better than anyone.

The entire palace will talk.

How could you avoid me

and visit the concubine instead?

Your Majesty.

I...

am begging you.

Please let me be with you tonight.

Queen.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Did you forget what I said\Non the wedding night?

I said you are not a woman to me.

Do not ever do this again.

Tell everyone to go away.

Your Majesty.

You cannot make all the palace\Nservants go away by law.

If so, we'll be far away.

It has a pleasant scent.

What kind of tea is it?

It's jujube tea.

I heard jujube is good\Nat healing wounds.

Come to think of it,

is your wound on your chest okay?

Yes.

It healed well.

You're mistaken for a second.

You did not get shot on the chest,

but on the stomach.

Why are you trembling so much?

We're in a warm room this time.

You...

You're not Eun Ki.

Who are you?

Who are you?\NTell me who you are!

Why did you make...

a fool out of me by\Npretending to be Eun Ki?

And how do you know\Nabout our childhood?

Tell me!

What's in the teacup?

Consort Hong is not allowed to\Nleave the villa as of now.

Do not allow anyone\Nto come and go.

Watch everything\Nshe consumes and says.

You will have to report\Nto me about everything.

- Do you understand?\N- Your Majesty...

My Lady.

There should be a green bottle\Nin Consort Hong's chamber.

Find it and retrieve it.

And find out

what is in the bottle discreetly.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

What is going on, may I ask?

I want to be alone.

You should go away too.

- Your Majesty...\N- Go away!

Yes, Your Majesty.

What do you mean, Consort Hong\Nis under house arrest?

What are you talking about?

I heard that His Majesty

banned everyone from entering\NConsort Hong's chamber.

What is the reason?

The thing is, nobody knows.

And the palace ladies in that villa\Ncan't take a step outside.

What in the world...

A poison from pufferfish was\Nfound inside that bottle.

A poison?

Did you hear anything from\NConsort Hong's villa?

According to her palace ladies,

she hasn't said anything\Nsince last night.

Bring Hong Ki Ho and Wal here.

Your Majesty, Great Royal\NDowager Queen is here.

Let her in.

King.

What in the world is going on?

You placed Consort Hong\Nunder house arrest?

For what reason?

There are awful rumors\Nin the palace already.

And now a house arrest?

Tell me the reason.

I had something to\Ntell you anyway.

I will make sure people do not\Nspread stories of the house arrest.

Please help me with that as well.

King!

Forgive me, but I have\Nnothing else to tell you.

I need to focus on state affairs.\NCould you please leave?

That straw hat...

I've seen it somewhere.

Where did I see that?

Seriously...

Right!

I saw him right around here.

Was he leaving the\NRoyal Investigation Bureau?

Hey, someone wants\Nto see you outside.

- Who does?\N- How would I know?

They're waiting on the side street.

I was using my brain for once.

And someone has to interrupt me.

What?

They made me come here.

But no one's here. Huh?

Who are you?

What's going on?

Who are you?

- Move.\N- Capture him.

Wait, wait.

What are you doing right now?

You should capture the\None who ran away.

- He's the King's security guard!\N- What?

My apologies.

I almost died just now, didn't I?

I need to catch him\Nand find out who he is.

How could you let\Nhim go like that?

He had a scar on the\Nback of his neck.

A scar on the back of his neck?

- Let's go for now.\N- Where are we going?

His Majesty wants to see you.

Consort Hong put\Npoison in my teacup.

Did you make her do that?

At last...

I asked you if you\Nmade her do that.

No, Your Majesty.

If so, tell me what you know.

Forgive me,

but I have nothing to tell you.

But there's one thing.

I wasn't lying when I said\NConsort Hong is a victim of the

political power struggle.

What happened is...

definitely not what she intended.

Please try to understand

her true intention.

Do you still not understand?

Not just you, but\Nyour real daughter

and your entire family might\Nget beheaded for treason.

It would be better if\Nyou tell me the truth.

My apologies, sir.

I'll find another chance\Nand take care of it.

That's not like you.

By chance, did you reveal\Nyour face to them?

No, I was wearing a mask.

You'd better not make\Nany more mistakes.

Yes, sir!

Aigoo.

Aigoo, why this place again?

That cell with a bed was nice...

Aigoo, Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, I almost died today.

So let me tell you what happened...

Well, when you want to\Nsee me next time,

could you choose a\Ndifferent spot than this?

This place is where I...

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, why\Nare you doing this?

I almost died just now.

How dare you...

How dare you mock\Nme in this place?

You said you found the queen\Nwho woke up in the forest

and became friends\Nwith her. It was all a lie!

What are the true identities\Nof you and that woman?

I... I don't know.

You don't know?

It's not that I don't know.

She's like my sister,

a friend, a business partner...

who's a trouble maker and...

She's just a pitiful person.

That's all I know.

I didn't have to know anymore,\Nand I didn't want to either.

I deserve to be killed\Nby you, but...

I can't tell you anything\Nmore than that.

Place Hong Ki Ho\Nunder house arrest

and lock him up in\Nhere for a while.

Yes, Your Majesty.

How could it be so frustrating?

Consort Hong definitely

made King extremely upset.

But what could she have done?

I told my servants to look into it

and even His Majesty's\Nservants have no idea

why Consort Hong was\Nplaced under house arrest.

I heard Officer Han visited\Nthe royal physician.

I do not know the circumstances,

but I heard he brought a medicine\Nbottle and inquired what's inside of it.

A medicine bottle?

Isn't that strange?

He doesn't allow anyone to speak\Nabout the house arrest.

Sir.

Today is the last day we\Nchose as the deadline.

If Eun Bo doesn't come\Nout by seven o'clock,

our plan will fail.

Let's wait until seven o'clock.

My Lady.

Please have just a bite.

You might pass out at this rate.

His Majesty is here!

The thing is...

She couldn't eat anything...

Wal and Hong Ki Ho.

The two of them had\Ngreat faith in you.

Neither of them would\Nsay anything about you.

Have a seat.

This is the last chance\NI am giving you.

Tell the truth with\Nyour own mouth.

Are you planning not\Nto say anything?

I...

am not...

Kang Eun Ki.

Kang Eun Ki is...

my sister's name.

It would be more accurate\Nto call her your twin sister.

Did you know?

Thinking about it that way\Nanswered all of my questions.

The fact that you were\Nchasing the assassin,

the fact that you met with me\Nas the owner of Buyong Agency,

and remembering everything about our\Nchildhood. All of those things...

The little girl I met\Nten years ago...

was probably not Eun Ki, but you.

Yes.

For what purpose did\Nyou try to poison me?

I cannot seem to find\Nthe answer to it.

Please kill me.

Please kill me and...

let others live.

It's all my fault.

I'm the one who fooled you

and planned to assassinate you.

It was all me.

I'm willing to die.

So, please...

They're innocent people.

Everything is my fault...

Tell me what your purpose was.

If I don't assassinate you,

he said he'd reveal my identity

and kill everyone around me.

I couldn't let that happen\Nto Mother, Wal,

and Hong Ki Ho's\Nfamily because of me.

Who did?

And for what reason did\Nhe threaten you like that?

There are people who\Nare tempting the throne.

What do you mean,\Ntempting the throne?

Whom are you talking about?

She didn't show up.

It's a failure then.

Find out if everything is\Nokay in the palace.

It's His Excellency Baek Ja Yong

and the prince, Lee Jae Hwa.

Did you say Baek Ja Yong just now?

And the Prince?

You mean your father's\Nfriend Baek Ja Yong?

Are you sure it's\NLee Jae Hwa, the prince?

Yes.

Baek Ja Yong...

tried to assassinate me?

Baek Ja Yong and the\NPrince are traitors?

Please let my mother live.

Please let Wal and the\Ninnocent people live.

Please let them live.

Your Majesty!\NYour Majesty, please...

Revoke Consort Hong's house arrest\Nand watch her surroundings.

Baek Ja Yong and the\NPrince might contact her.

Han Mo, leave the palace immediately\Nand watch where they go.

They conspired against me.

You must find out their moves\Nand arrest them immediately!

Yes, Your Majesty.

So the woman did not come to us.

We will know the details\Nwhen we hear from her,

but I heard things are\Nquiet in the palace.

If my hunch is correct,

Eun Bo didn't act\Naccording to the plan.

She probably can't tell\Non us to the King.

That means she'll have to\Ntell him all of her secrets.

But don't go back to your\Nresidence just in case.

I'll prepare an escape route in the\Nheadquarters and a boat as well.

Let's go ahead and\Nprepare our next plan.

You mean right away?

If she gave up on her\Nown by chance,

she'll be able to\Nexecute our next plan.

Whether we threaten\Nher or persuade her,

we just need to get\Nher out of the palace.

If we do, we can hold her hostage

and lure the King outside too.

Although the first plan\Nwent to ruin,

but things have already started.

We can't delay any longer.

I'll take this opportunity and\Nkill the King no matter what.

Your Highness,\Nit's Court Lady Jung.

Come in.

I heard Consort Hong's house\Narrest has been revoked.

Was it the King's order?

And we still do not know\Nthe reason for the arrest?

No, Your Highness.

Grandmother.

Could you let me handle this?

Is it not the inner court's\Njurisdiction to find out what

Consort Hong did to His Majesty\Nto be placed under house arrest

and make sure something like\Nthat never happens again?

The queen definitely must strengthen\Nlaw and order in the palace.

However...

the King is very upset right now.

So let's wait and see for now.

Yes.

How are things\Ninside the palace?

I heard there isn't much going on.

Give this to Consort Hong's\Npalace lady by tonight.

I cannot seem to find either\Nthe Prince and Baek Ja Yong.

Neither of them returned\Nto their residences.

How about around Consort Hong?\NHave you noticed anything?

No, not yet.

Watch closely.

Geez, it's not too bad in here now.

Anyway, what in the\Nworld is going on?

I shouldn't be strapped\Ndown here like this.

If he had a scar on the\Nback of his neck,

he must be that bastard Gae Pyeong,\NGae Dong, Gae Shik, or whatever.

I should've caught him\Nthen and there!

Why did Officer Kim have\Nto stop us like that...

Hold on, how come...

Right at that moment...

Someone wants to\Nsee you outside.

What's going on?

By chance...

is he the spy at the Bureau?

Excuse me, excuse me!

Is anyone out there?

I think I just found out\Nsomething really important!

Excuse me!

Excuse me!

What took you so long?

His Excellency Baek Ja Yong\Nwants you to have this.

How come I do not see Yeo Wool?

She left an hour ago and\Nhasn't come back yet.

- Go look for her.\N- Yes.

If you want to save your mother,

come outside the palace\Nat noon discreetly tomorrow.

A pathfinder will be waiting\Nat the end of Yookjo Street.

That man will lead\Nthe way for you.

Your Majesty, what should I do?

You can follow that\Nman over there.

It's a trap!

Attack!

Run.

Hurry!

We arrested His Excellency\NBaek Ja Yong and put him in jail,

but the Prince wasn't there.

Tell the soldiers to locate\Nthe Prince immediately.

Yes, Your Majesty.

What should I do with the\Npalace lady named Yeo Wool?

Take her back to Consort Hong's villa.

Yes.

What made you think of\Nsending Office Han in a litter?

Baek Ja Yong and the Prince\Nwere already keeping a low profile.

If we lose the chance, they\Nwould've disappeared forever.

And if so, Kang Yi Soo's wife, their\Nhostage, might not have survived.

We had to capture him while\Nhe approached with his guard down.

Your Majesty.

I still cannot believe this.

How could an upright\Nman like Baek Ja Yong...

And the Prince, who\Nlooked so innocent...

It seems like it's impossible\Nto know people.

What happened?

I was worried because\NI couldn't find you.

Why did Officer Han\Nbring you here?

My Lady!

His Excellency Baek Ja Yong got\Narrested because of me.

- What?\N- It's my fault.

But I had no other choice.

His Majesty said he would

forgive me if I did that.

Your Excellency!

His Excellency Baek Ja Yong\Ngot arrested?

The royal guards\Nfollowed the litter.

What are you saying?

How did the King know?

By chance...

did that woman...

What should we do now, sir?

We'll evacuate this place for now.

Prepare the guns.

You should stay here and keep an eye\Non His Excellency Baek Ja Yong's status.

Yes!

What brings you to the\NQueen's Palace?

I thought I should let you know\Nabout this, no matter what.

It's the reason why\NConsort Hong was arrested.

It seems like she used some\Nkind of drug on His Majesty.

What do you mean, drug?\NHow could it be...

What drug did Consort Hong use?

Even the royal physician who examined it\Nunder His Majesty's order will not speak.

I do not know what\Nhappened exactly,

but it is evident, don't you think?

She used a drug while\Nsharing a bedroom?

You must bring Consort Hong here\Nand question her immediately.

You said the royal\Nphysician investigated it.

Are you sure about that?

It is not your fault.

I would've done the\Nsame if I were you.

But he was my master\Nwho took care of me.

And I betrayed him.

I feel so bad toward you\Ntoo, My Lady.

I didn't know he was plotting\Nsomething so serious.

He committed treason...

If so...

what would happen to His Excellency\NBaek Ja Yong now?

And what would happen to you?

My Lady.

Someone came from\Nthe Queen's Palace.

I heard you are the one

who gave Consort Hong\Nthis poison to kill me.

Did you do this to make\Nthe Prince the new king?

I am not sure what\Nyou are talking about.

I am the only one who\Nplanned to assassinate you.

Since I wanted a world that\Nis owned by the people,

I gave Consort Hong...

I mean,

Kang Yi Soo's daughter that poison.

Did you place her in the selection

to commit treason\Nfrom the beginning?

- Because you needed military rights?\N- That's correct.

And you came up with this plan

because she failed\Nto be selected?

Were Kang Yi Soo...

and Hong Ki Ho\Namong you as well?

Did she agree to do this?

They were with me at first,\Nbut they all turned away.

Considering that you\Nare alive and well,

she must've done\Nthe same as well.

Where are Kang Yi Soo's wife\Nand the Prince right now?

Kang Yi Soo's wife is at\NChunggye Temple right now.

I do not know where the Prince is.

For what reason did you\Ncome all the way here?

I...

always had faith in you.

You were one of the few servants who cared\Nabout the people in this chaotic situation.

I knew you distrusted me,

but I thought you would\Neventually be on my side.

That would have never happened.

Is it because the Prince\Nis your master?

It is because I thought\Nit is impossible to

start a new world with\Nyou from the beginning.

I do not want to give\Nyou any more excuses.

Please kill me now.

What are you so proud of?

You committed high treason\Nby trying to assassinate me!

That is why I'm asking you\Nto hurry and kill me.

You deserve to be\Nbeheaded immediately,

but considering the countless\Npeople you saved,

I will order you to commit suicide.

I want you to

pay for your sin

with your own hands.

Your Highness.

Consort Hong is here.

How dare you use a drug\Nto tempt His Majesty?

How could you be so vulgar?

What were you planning to do

after giving His Majesty\Nan aphrodisiac?

I never used an aphrodisiac.

Then...

what was the drug the royal physician\Nexamined under His Majesty's order?

What was it if it wasn't\Nan aphrodisiac?

Forgive me for saying this,

but please ask\NHis Majesty yourself.

His Majesty ordered\Nme not to talk about it.

What?

So...

you will keep your mouth shut?

His Majesty will reveal the\Ntruth to everyone soon.

I will receive

any punishment I deserve then.

What does that mean?

What wrong have you committed?

Forgive me.

I have nothing else to tell you.

Get out.

Follow Consort Hong.

I find her too strange.

Report to me right away\Nif she does something.

Yes, Your Highness.

Could you send a message\Nto Chief Eunuch Hwang?

Your Majesty,\Nit's Chief Eunuch Hwang.

Go to Chunggye Temple and\Nbring Kang Yi Soo's wife.

Yes.

Your Majesty, Consort Hong

is requesting to see you\Nfor one last time.

Baek Ja Yong got arrested.

Did you hear?

Yes.

He was my father's friend.

No matter what his intention was,

he helped me when\NI had no place to go.

It's a shame that I\Nreported him myself.

What is the reason\Nyou wanted to see me?

I have something\NI'd like to tell you.

Your Majesty.

Please do not feel tormented

at all when you punish me.

I have nothing to say,\Neven if you order me to die.

Please do not care for me.

How presumptuous.

My apologies.

Why is it so easy for you?

"Punish me."

How could you cajole me\Nso easily like that?

Teach me.

How could it be so\Nsimple like that?

It is not like that.

You are the one I fell for.

But I revealed my heart to Eun Ki.

I missed Eun Ki after she died\Nthinking of you as a child.

Who are you?

Who was I in love with?

This is what you did to me.\NDo you realize?

I am sorry.

I am so sorry.

What am I to you?

Did you even love me?

I loved you.

I still love you.

You are lying.

How could someone like\Nthat try to poison me?

I put poison in my teacup too.

I wanted to die with you

if we cannot live together.

Although you...

probably do not believe\Nme anymore.

Why will you not tell\Nme to believe you?

Beg me to believe you just once.

How could I do that?

That would only make\Nyou suffer more.

But what if I still want to\Ntry to believe you?

If only that's possible,

I will...

only love you for the\Nrest of my life.

But what if I still want to\Ntry to believe you?

If only that is possible,

I will...

only love you for\Nthe rest of my life.
