[Episode 9]

Don't come any closer!

Let me help you.

Don't come near me!

Don't come!

Wait.

What are you doing?

I've consumed countless spirit herbs.

My blood might be effective.

Heavenly Lord

I have a question.

What is it?

If this place

is just an illusion created by Honglian

then why did she put so many

ice petals containing her memories here?

Do you think what we just saw

was real or fake?

We can only ask Li Mo about that.

I feel it's real.

You also know

that Honglian's feelings for Immortal Lord Li Mo

are now a mix of love and hate.

But in the memories we just saw

Immortal Lord Li Mo wasn't portrayed negatively.

I don't think Honglian has a reason

to create fake memories for us to see.

Also, you mentioned before

that Honglian was sealed for centuries.

Her spiritual energy is much weaker than before.

Creating an illusion that could trap you

certainly wouldn't be an easy task for her.

So I have an idea.

You want to...

Destroy everything here.

Stand behind me.

Is that her true form?

Yes.

I guessed correctly.

Those illusions are indeed her true form.

Little girl, I really underestimated you.

Heavenly Lord, quickly capture her!

Honglian, return to Hell Ruins with me

and I'll spare your life.

Heavenly Lord!

Heavenly Lord!

Help!

Help!

Help!

Help! Help!

What's wrong?

He's come back to life!

My husband...

My husband has come back to life!

Don't be afraid. Take me to see him.

Let's go.

Don't waste your energy anymore.

Yun, exorcise the evil.

Release.

This isn't a resurrected corpse.

It's just the most basic form of puppetry.

I've already removed the control.

Everything is fine now.

Could you please help me tie him up?

I'm afraid it might happen again.

Alright, go find some rope.

Bai Jiusi.

Your spiritual energy

has decreased significantly compared to before.

It seems that forcing you to come out of seclusion this time

has caused you severe internal injuries.

Do you know what's the biggest weakness

you immortals have?

It's that you trust humans too much.

You should know that sometimes, the human heart is scarier

than demons.

This is the binding method taught by my sect.

Even if he's controlled by someone again in the future

he won't be able to break free.

Thank you, miss.

I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave.

In the illusion, I saw you

place the Twin Heart Seal on Li Qingyue.

If I remember correctly

besides sensing location

if the person under the seal gets injured

the one who drew the seal also bears half the injury.

If Li Qingyue dies

will you lose half of your lifespan?

Trying to run?

Not so fast!

It's you.

Why did you...

Why did you come to investigate?

What?

That bastard Xu Ying died. So what?

Why did you come to investigate?

You killed Xu Ying?

He deserved to die!

Beautiful lady, where are you going?

Husband, where are you going?

It's you again.

It's none of your business!

You're so annoying! Leave me alone.

Get lost!

You're drunk.

You're drunk. Let's go home.

I'm telling you!

Don't you understand what I'm saying?

You're either crying and whining

or you're nagging and complaining to me.

If you say another word, I'll get angry.

If you try to stop me, I'll hit you again.

Husband!

Beautiful lady.

Husband!

Beautiful lady.

Beautiful lady.

Beautiful lady.

Beautiful lady.

Beautiful lady.

Beautiful lady.

You—

That's right.

Beautiful lady.

-Beauty. -That’s me too.

I've come for you.

Dear

I'm not the one you should be afraid of.

Is it worth it for a man like him?

Do you really want to

continue living like this?

Beautiful lady

where are you?

Beautiful lady?

Where are you?

I was just thinking

why would a person change?

We grew up together since childhood.

Why did he become so unfamiliar?

I just wanted to see if he still had a heart.

He clearly had a heart.

Why would he do such heartless things?

So before we arrived

you had already conspired with Honglian.

Conspired?

She was helping me.

Unlike you two.

You don't distinguish right from wrong and just talk about hunting demons.

Why don't you deal with those who do evil?

You only target pitiful people like us.

We do distinguish right from wrong.

We just didn't know

about your husband's character before.

You did nothing wrong. He did deserve to die.

Don't give me that.

I don't believe in cultivators like you

who change your tune

when talking to different people.

Honglian did me such a big favor.

Now it's time for me to help her.

Bai Jiusi, let's see how you can defeat me.

You're really hard to kill, aren't you?

You still won't die?

If your throat is cut

can you still live?

This is a pill to stop bleeding and heal wounds.

Take it quickly.

Master will surely blame me this time.

The person who hurt me is in league with Honglian.

The Heavenly Lord has already gone after Honglian.

He might be in danger now.

We need to find him quickly.

Li Mo

you've finally come to see me.

Heavenly Lord!

Are you alright?

Immortal Lord Li Mo!

Go.

You can't leave!

You actually hurt me?

This Sky-Reaching Ladder was made of the essence of heaven and earth.

It harnesses the essence of heaven and transforms the waters.

It connects heaven and earth, transcending the six realms.

If you wish to achieve what others cannot

you must endure suffering that others cannot bear.

Fierce winds will temper your body; raging fires will burn your flesh.

Can you withstand the pain

of tearing muscles and shattering bones?

Honglian is a great water demon.

Using fire to counter her is an excellent method

but your own essence is also of yin water.

Where did you get so much yang fire power?

Master, your old illness hasn't healed.

I didn't bring any miraculous medicine this time.

Now that you've injured your foundation

you won't heal without a few months of rest.

This...

How can you be so weak?

Didn't you obtain the Blazing Fire magic from the Siling long ago?

How could it suddenly disappear?

It wouldn't vanish into thin air.

Power waxes and wanes.

If it's not with me

it must be hidden somewhere else.

Master, you still suspect...

Heavenly Lord, you're better now?

Have something to eat.

The Heavenly Lord doesn't need to eat.

Immortal Lord Li Mo, would you like to eat something too?

No need.

What should we do next?

Are we going to catch Honglian?

Time is too tight.

I've only treated Master's external injuries.

His internal injuries are severe now.

He needs time to recover.

It's not advisable to confront Honglian again.

But we still have you, don't we?

I'm no match for Honglian.

But you just sent her flying

with one palm strike now.

Then let's go back to Canglei Palace for reinforcements.

We can't leave.

What do you mean?

My spiritual energy is damaged and greatly diminished.

And this Honglian

has been hiding her true strength all along.

She just altered the barrier formation I set up.

Now, the ones who can't leave this place

have become us.

It's alright.

Judging by the time

Long Yuan should be back from reporting to Empyrean by now.

He will surely come here when he returns.

So before that, we can only hide from Honglian?

That's all we can do.

We have no chance of winning in a direct confrontation.

Honglian has been looking for you.

I'm afraid she won't let us hide like this.

[Songhe County]

Immortal Lord Li Mo.

The Heavenly Lord and I saw your past

in the illusion created by Honglian.

In her memories

weren't you two quite close?

How did it come to this?

The Heavenly Lord didn't ask before out of respect for your choice

but we can't avoid talking about it anymore.

You might as well tell us.

Maybe I...

And the Heavenly Lord can help.

How much do you know?

I know that in the past, you wanted to help Honglian dispel her evil energy.

You even fed her your own blood.

By all rights, she should be very grateful to you.

Why do you still need to hide from her?

I hide from her because I don't want her obsession to deepen.

Obsession?

Honglian used to hurt people for the blood of their hearts.

It was only to dispel the evil energy in her body.

After I met her

I kept her by my side for decades.

At first, I just wanted to find a way to cure her.

I never thought that in the end

I would cause her to develop another illness.

What illness?

The illness of jealousy.

Li Mo.

What... what are you doing?

Why are you holding her?

I'm giving her medicine.

Didn't you say you were going to cure my illness?

Why are you taking care of them now?

I will find a way to cure your illness.

I won't neglect you.

Aren't you neglecting me right now?

You're the same as them.

I will treat everyone equally.

You're using your blood to save others?

Don't make it known.

If others find out

they might mistake me for a demon.

It's fine. It'll heal after I apply some medicine.

So this is how you treat everyone.

What?

What are you doing?

Li Mo.

Can't you see that I like you?

You don't need to use such tactics on me.

My heart's blood cannot save you.

Since I promised you

to find another way to dispel your evil energy

I will do it.

You don't believe that I love you?

Whether I believe it or not is meaningless.

I've said before

that I only care about saving people.

I have no interest in love.

Stop it.

If that's the case

then I'm the only one you can save.

As a cultivator

how can I only save one person?

If you continue to act recklessly, you'll disturb my cultivation.

Then I won't be able to keep you by my side anymore.

Come.

What have you done?

If you want to save someone, you can only save me.

Your blood can only be given to me.

What have you done?

I am a flower that grew by the Naihe Bridge.

I carry evil energy.

Your blood can save people

while my blood can kill people.

Don't you think we're a perfect match?

Why did you

take their lives?

Only by making you kill them with your own hands

ending their lives

will you

stop saving others in the future.

I told you

you can only save me.

Now it's all good.

You don't have to be troubled anymore.

From now on, I'm the only one who needs your salvation.

What happened then?

After that

I couldn't bear the fact that I had unintentionally killed people.

I didn't want to see Honglian ever again.

So you started avoiding her?

I practice the way of medicine.

I can only save people.

I can't kill her.

Were you the one who approached the Heavenly Lord

to help seal Honglian?

No.

It just so happened that Master and...

Divine Lord Siling.

Yes.

They happened to travel to the village.

They worked together to seal Honglian.

Because of this, I became Master's disciple.

But I felt guilty inside.

She insists on seeing you every day.

Are you really not going to see her even once?

My sins are heavy.

Now, I only wish to travel in the mortal realm

and do good deeds

to atone for the sins I've committed.

What about her?

Are you just going to abandon her?

I overestimated myself.

I once foolishly thought I could save her.

That's what led to such a grave mistake.

Now that she has been sealed

I trouble you, Master, to watch over her.

She is a tribulation in your destiny.

You can't escape it no matter how you try.

I have no desire to face this tribulation again.

I beg for your understanding.

Did you really never have feelings for Honglian?

Never.

Have you ever had feelings for anyone?

No.

No wonder.

Of course you can't understand

the stubbornness of someone who's just tasted love for the first time.

It's not jealousy.

It's possessiveness born out of love.

I've seen how Honglian acts around other men.

It's all an act.

She only treats you differently.

I suppose it's her first time learning to love someone.

What do you mean by that?

I'm just thinking out loud.

Honglian's actions were indeed gravely wrong

but she's a demon.

As you said

she's been tormented by evil energy since birth.

She's protecting herself.

No one taught her to distinguish between right and wrong.

But if you had calmly explained

everything to her from the very beginning

guiding her to let go of her grievances

wouldn't that have prevented the later disaster?

Of course, you have no romantic feelings for Honglian.

That's not your fault either.

It's just that you've been avoiding her ever since

allowing her to become crazier.

That's a bit inappropriate.

I didn't expect you to be so well-versed in matters of love.

When it comes to love, I'm an expert.

I wholeheartedly love the Heavenly Lord, you know.

Master is just circulating his energy to heal.

He can hear our conversation.

I know.

I'm saying this on purpose for him to hear.

Immortal Lord Li Mo

why do I feel that the Heavenly Lord's spiritual energy

is a bit chaotic?

Has his condition worsened?

But getting back to the point

I always felt that you loved her.

-Never. -Don’t deny it.

There are countless forms of love in this world.

It's not just romantic love.

What's wrong?

Be careful.

This is...

Honglian's water spiritual energy.

Has she discovered us?

No.

But she's forcing us to reveal ourselves.

Forcing us?

Is she trying to...

Freeze the whole Songhe County.

What about the people inside?

[Songhe County]

We can't wait for Long Yuan anymore.

If we wait any longer

all the people in Songhe County will suffer.

My Lady was right earlier.

It was my constant avoidance

that led Honglian to make mistake after mistake.

It's time to go and resolve this conflict with her.

We'll go with you.

You don't understand love.

I'm afraid you might say the wrong thing again

and make things worse.

Let's go together.

This shield will protect you from the ice.

There's no time to waste. Let's go.

Honglian.

Stop this.

After all these years

you still can't change your bad habit of wanting to save people.

You wanted to see me, and I'm here now.

Don't harm the people of Songhe County.

I did want to see you.

But during the centuries I've been sealed

why didn't you come to see me even once?

Are you still resenting me

for making you kill?

In that case

why don't I make you bear the burden of more deaths

so you won't dare to avoid me anymore?

No!

Master, you can't recklessly use your spiritual energy anymore.

I'll help the Heavenly Lord.

Speak more gently.

Quickly resolve those old grudges between you.

Go quickly.

This time, I won't run away from you anymore.

Don't make the same mistake again.

I'll accompany you to atone for

the sins you committed in the past.

Sins?

I never thought those were sins.

You were the one volunteered

to help me dispel the evil energy in my body.

It was also you

who abandoned me

to save others.

You're the one who's sinned all along.

I never intended to abandon you.

But you clearly did just that.

For hundreds of years

I've been tormented by evil energy.

I've never trusted anyone

except you.

But what about you?

In the end, you were only thinking about how to get rid of me.

I didn't.

You said you studied the way of medicine

that you were born to help others

but you couldn't even save me.

How can you save anyone else?

How are you any different

from those men who abandon women?

Immortal Lord Li Mo, the Heavenly Lord can't hold on much longer.

Right or wrong, there's no point in arguing further.

Honglian, if you just stop

I promise you

that before I dispel the evil energy in your body

I won't interfere in others' affairs anymore.

This time, I'll keep my word.

Then do you love me?

Immortal Lord Li Mo, just say you love her.

What difference would it make anyway?

I...

There's no need.

I don't need those words anymore.

Honglian.

Honglian, what are you going to do?

Heavenly Lord!

Heavenly Lord!

Honglian, that's enough.

Heavenly Lord!

Burn the evil, ignite the wicked. Control their life and death.

Rise.

Heavenly Lord!

Yue.

It's you.
