Whoa, shit

- Where is Marissa - The fuck should I know

She was just there and she fucking... poof, she fucking disappeared

They're real.

This whole thing, it's all real.

And the bomb outside of Screamer's.

We lost one of ours.

My father.

I have killed the vampire, Darius.

Scribe Virgin.

You have no wish to be king.

But it is your birth obligation.

The female you want,

she is the daughter of your brother, Darius, who is in the Fade.

You will give her this for me.

Will you have me as your hellren

Yes.

I will marry you.

Scribe Virgin

This is a good mating.

A very good mating.

Lessers.

Humans who have traded their souls to the Omega for free reign of terror.

That's good, Billy.

Perfect size.

What's going in it

Welcome, Mr. R.

And where did you spend the evening

- Darius'. - I bid you good rest, sister.

Won't you stay

I have something to take care of.

- What the hell are you doing here - Zsadist.

How much would it take to get you to kill The Blind King

I would do it for free.

Damn it

Don't hurt them.

Wrath,

if they're bothering you tonight, they have a good reason.

You'd better be bleeding.

We have a problem, my Lord.

Zsadist.

He'll have to be put down for this.

It's gonna kill Phury.

And Marissa.

Havers is dead.

I'll call the Brotherhood.

Do you want Beth to stay with Wellsie and me until this is finished

She might be safer at our house.

Thanks.

I'll send her over as soon as the sun sets tonight.

- Tohr - Yeah

Before I mated Beth, I was sorry for what I said to you.

About you and Wellsie, and how devoted you are to her.

Now I...

understand.

Beth is everything to me.

More important than even the Brotherhood.

You are forgiven, my Lord.

I've been a rotten king.

Actually, I haven't done the job at all.

But after Darius' death is avenged,

that's going to change.

You're ascending to the throne

Thanks to the Virgin Scribe. Our race is whole again.

I need to get something to eat.

Call for Fritz.

He did quite enough last night and deserves to rest.

I'll be right back.

Beth. It's 5:00 in the afternoon.

The sun is still out.

You said I might be able to go out during the day.

It's theoretically possible.

So I might as well find out now.

You don't need to know at this moment.

- It's no big deal. I'll just... - You're going nowhere.

I forbid you to leave this room.

Back off, Wrath,

and wipe that word from your vocabulary when you're speaking to me.

We may be married, but I'm not going to be ordered around like a child by you.

Are we clear on this

Hey.

It's going to be fine.

I'll just duck out into the drawing room

and if anything happens, I'll come right back down.

Okay

I hate that I can't be with you.

You're not going to be able to protect me from everything.

- What- Aren't you full of the warm fuzzies

Mating day not going so good

You got something on your mind, Z

I understand you called the brothers this morning.

Every one of them except me.

You lost my number

I know exactly how to reach you.

Man, I get tired of being treated like a dog.

I really do.

Then don't act like one. Why are you on my phone

You need to know something.

- From you - Yeah, from me.

Marissa's brother wants your head on a stick.

And he was willing to pay me a couple million to do it. Later.

I'm good to go.

Did it burn at all Did you feel hot

No. The brightness hurt my eyes when I went outside but...

You went outside

Yeah.

Wrath, Wrath,

I'm fine.

Damn, leelan. I love you so much,

I'm scaring the crap out of myself.

I don't think I can live without you.

Well, hopefully, you won't have to.

Now, tell me,

what's your word for husband

Hellren, I suppose.

The short version is just hell.

Go figure.

Answer it while I hit the kitchen. Do you want anything

You.

You already have me.

And thank God for that.

You're not going to save Zsadist this time, Phury.

He can't help that he was approached.

If anyone deserves to die, it's Havers.

And he will.

But Zsadist accepted an offer to kill me.

If he can do it once, he can do it again.

And maybe next time he won't come forward after you work him over, you feel me

He told you

On my honor, I didn't tell him you knew.

My Lord, Z came to you on his own.

I'd like to believe you.

But you shot your own leg off to save him once.

When it comes to your twin, you will do and say anything.

I beg you.

Don't do this.

Z's been better lately.

What about those dead women

You know it's the only way he'll feed.

He has to stay alive somehow.

And in spite of the rumors, he's never actually killed the humans

he's fed from before.

I don't know what happened with those two prostitutes.

My Lord, he doesn't deserve to die for something he hasn't done.

This isn't fair.

Bring him with you tonight.

I'll give him the opportunity to speak in front of the Brotherhood.

Thank you, my Lord.

Don't be grateful.

Just because he opens his mouth, doesn't mean he'll be saved.

He's not... alive.

Beth, get down here now

The Queen.

I have the Queen.

Beth

Master, we've been broken into.

- Get me the cop. - Butch is...

Yeah, I couldn't catch whoever it was.

Did you see Beth

Isn't she with you

Cop, I need you.

Help me.

What's happening

Beth's been taken.

Wrath told me about the guy you met last night.

It sounds like this asshole at the local martial arts academy.

- I'm heading there now. - Take this.

What the hell kind of bullets are these

You're not going after a human, cop.

If one of those lessers comes at you, shoot them in the chest.

- Got it - How will I know 'em

They have pale hair, eyes, and skin, but not always.

Smells sweet like baby powder,

and they'll look right through you, right into your soul.

- You clear on this, cop - Yeah.

What

Just aim true.

I've never missed yet.

Hello

Hello

Havers

Someone

Could you kindly let me out

Hello

I'm sorry it has to be this way.

What are you doing

I have no other choice.

I can't have you going to him anymore.

Listen to me.

Wrath is not the reason that I've gone out.

He has mated to someone whom he loves, and I feel no ill will toward him.

I've...

I've met a male.

Someone I like.

Someone who wants me.

Havers

Did you hear me

I wasn't with him.

Why didn't you tell me

You didn't give me the chance to.

I've tried for the past two nights.

Now, let me out.

I'm supposed to meet my someone at Darius'.

I can't have you going there.

Why not

It's no longer safe in that house. I...

Havers, what did you do

Dear God.

Havers, tell me what you've done.

How much would it take to get you to kill The Blind King

I would do it for free...

but only if I was going after you.

Get out of my sight before I get out my dagger.

No. No. What would you want with me

I... I could give you the vampire king.

Wake up, bitch

Mr. R

You do recall you're out of the rape business.

Yeah, I know.

Makes me wanna hurt her just thinking about it.

I'll let you kill her, how's that

Thanks, sensei.

She can be your first.

We need to keep focused.

I want you armed.

Put a gun on your belt and strap a knife on your ankle.

It shouldn't be long now.

I went to the Caldwell Martial Arts Academy.

Guy's name is Joseph Xavier.

No one's seen him today but they told me where he lived.

Broke in. It was clean. Too clean.

Nothing in the fridge, no mail, no toothpaste in the bathroom.

He may own it, but he doesn't live there.

Don't leave.

My Lord

Tonight, you will take the brothers to the Caldwell Martial Arts Academy.

You will infiltrate the place and throw the alarm.

You will wait until the lessers arrive and then you will slaughter them,

and burn the building to the ground.

Do you understand me

Ashes, Tohr. I want fucking ashes.

Yes, my Lord.

Watch Zsadist.

Keep him with you at all times.

The cop will monitor the building from now on until sun down.

If he sees anything of significance, he will call you.

- On it.- My Lord, do you need us help you find...

My blood is in her veins.

I will find our queen.

Close the doors.

What the hell is that

Get ready, Mr. R.

The dogs

Let loose the dogs.

Run

No, no. No.

Two guards tortured will happily fight each other.

Come on.

Wrath. Wrath.

I'm hit, leelan.

God.

Okay. Yeah. Okay.

Butch Butch. Help.

Wrath's been shot and I don't know where we are.

- I... - Route 22.

Route 22.

Ranch house with a blue truck in front.

Ranch house with a blue truck in front.

We're in the barn.

Come fast. He's...

He's bleeding.

Just get here now, Butch.

Come on, you ugly-ass dog.

Come on

You want some of him You gotta get through me.

- Hey. Hey. - It doesn't hurt.

You're in shock.

Probably.

I can't see you.

- Where are you - Hey. I'm right here.

Can you feel me

I'm right here.

I don't want you to be alone.

Don't. No, don't say that.

- Don't say that. - Ask Tohr and Wellsie to take you in.

No.

Promise me.

I will not, because you're not going anywhere.

I love you, leelan.

No.

No.

- What - Beth, it's Butch. I'm with V.

We're gonna be there soon, but he needs to talk to you.

Beth, here's what you need to do. Do you have a knife

- Yes.- Get it.

I want you to cut your wrist, vertically not horizontally,

otherwise you'll just hit bone.

Then put it to his mouth.

It's his best chance of survival until we can get him help.

He's not drinking. He's not. He...

Hopefully some is getting down the back of his throat.

He's bleeding from there too.

Please, please, please drink.

Beth

- Whoa. - Let me go first.

Beth, Beth.

Butch. Butch.

I have to... I have to be... I have to...

Hey. Let V look at him, okay

It'll just take a minute.

Wait. He's gonna be okay, right

He's...

We just have to move him to a doctor, to a hospital, right

- Vishous. - Beth.

Right, right

What Right

We need him to get to my OR.

My car is on the front lawn.

Your blood's not strong enough. Marissa, get over here.

Are you okay with my feeding him

I don't care who he drinks from so long as he lives.

Hey.

You love him so very much.

All right. Let's move him.

Marissa, you keep that wrist right where it is.

Quickly, two, three.

Get him inside, in here.

Hurry.

Zsadist told us what you asked of him.

Asking your brother to kill your king.

Bold.

Dumb.

If Wrath dies on the table,

my brothers and I will string you up by the feet

and beat you with our bare fists

until you bleed out, right in your own house.

That's a promise.

Hey.

Will he live

We'll know soon enough.

I hope so.

As do I.

Marissa.

I know you are sorry.

But I'm not the one to whom you should offer your regrets.

You might start with Beth.

If ever she is willing to hear you.

He has survived the surgery.

Now, we have to see if he holds on.

Do you want to take me now

We'll keep you alive to care for him.

And then he can kill you himself.

Shh, shh, hey.

Hey, I'm right here.

Wrath.

Love. Hey.

Are you hurting

Hey, don't... hey, hey, hey, take it easy.

Take it easy. Just relax.

Hey, hey.

I want you to squeeze my hand, okay

Once for yes and twice for no.

Are you in pain

Do you want me to get Havers

Do you need anything

Food

Drink

Blood

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, it's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.

I'm gonna figure out what you need. It's okay.

Me

You need me

Wrath.

Wrath...

you have me. We're together, love.

It's all right.

I'm not going anywhere, I promise.

What

I wanted to save you.

You did.

You did save me.

Love you.

I love you too.

You...

go sleep now.

He's back.

I'm over here.

It's my turn to stand guard.

We've been taking shifts.

Is it really so dangerous here

You don't know

What

The Brotherhood protects what is ours.

We would never leave you or him undefended.

Thank you.

What time is it

4:00 in the afternoon.

It's Thursday, by the way.

So, how's he doing

He woke up.

I knew he'd live.

Did you

Yes, Beth.

I really did.

No shotgun's ever going to keep him from you.

How's he feeling

He's feeling good enough to try to tell me what to do.

Either of you need anything

We're okay.

And I'm sure he's gonna wanna see all of you soon.

What about you

How're you holding up You wanna take a break

Until he can walk out of here on his own two feet, I'm not leaving.

That is one fine female, true

And someone you do not wanna mess with.

Man, you should've seen her when we came into that barn.

She was standing over his body, ready to take the cop and me on

with her bare hands if she had to.

Like Wrath was her cub, you feel me

Wonder if she has a sister

You wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you ran into a female of worth.

This coming from you, celibate

Hell, Phury, you're probably right.

Still, a male can dream.

He sure can.

What are you doing

- Sitting up. - No, no, no.

No, you don't. No, you don't.

Hell, leelan.

Now I'm just lying down while sitting up.

You're fine.

Leelan

Are you sure you're all right

I told you. My thigh's healing up just fine.

Not just the physical stuff.

I'll be fine,

because I refuse to have it any other way.

You're so brave.

So resilient.

You amaze me.

Thank you for saving my life.

Not just in that barn, but...

for all the rest of my days and nights.

How 'bout you hop up on here with me

I don't think you're quite ready for that.

Wanna bet

What do you say we give it another day

An hour.

Until you can sit up on your own.

Deal.

I'm a fast healer.

Should I let the brothers in

Yeah.

Wait.

I want you to know what I'm gonna say.

He's ready to see you now.

Thank you.

My brothers...

The good doctor.

We've got some unfinished business, you and I.

My Lord.

I understand you tried to have me killed.

Yes, I did, my Lord.

I was the one who approached him.

And when it was clear your brother would not betray you,

the lesser.

My Lord...

you should know your brother was ready to kill me just for asking him.

Yeah. I heard that didn't go over too well.

Z...

I owe you an apology.

Don't bother. They bore me.

Here, in front of these witnesses,

I accept the sentence of death.

Marissa was the reason you wanted me dead, wasn't she

Yes, my Lord.

Then I'm not going to kill you.

You did it because of the way I treated your loved one.

Vengeance is something I can understand.

My Lord, your mercy knows no bounds.

Yeah, the hell it doesn't.

I am giving your life as a gift to your sister.

If you ever pull a stunt like that again, I'm coming after you with a dagger.

We clear

Yes, my Lord.

I am leaving the Brotherhood.

I've asked Tohr to be in charge.

I'm not taking a vacation.

I have to start ruling our kind.

With Beth by my side,

I am ascending to the throne.

So...

are you down with Tohr or what

Yeah.

I can deal.

Z

Come on, man. What does it matter to me

You, Tohr.

Britney Spears.

Did you get the jars of the two lessers from that barn

There was only one.

The recruit you and I met the night of your mating.

I went back and stabbed the body during your operation.

Got his jar from the house.

There were two.

There were definitely two.

The other one was the lesser who was driving the truck.

You sure he went down

He was on the ground with a blow to the head.

Enough.

We'll talk about that later.

No, it's all right.

Later.

One more thing.

You're going to move in together.

I want the Brotherhood in one place, at least for the next couple of years.

Wellsie's gonna hate that.

We just finished installing her dream kitchen.

We'll work something out for you two, especially as there's a child on the way.

The rest of you are going to be roommates.

Hey, it could be worse.

I could make you live with me.

Good point.

Man, Beth, if you ever get sick of him...

What I was gonna say

is that she could move in with all of us for a while.

We'll always take care of her.

Leave us.

I want to be alone with my shellan.

- Wrath. - Yeah.

Come on up here, leelan.

A deal's a deal.

Butch

Omega.

I've come to help you recover.

The Tomb's mansion.

I'm telling you, that's where we should go.

That's a damn good idea.

True. I could wire that place tight.

It's isolated enough on that mountain.

Built of stone, fireproof.

If we throw some retractable shutters across the windows,

we could move around during the day, which was a critical weakness here when...

And doesn't it have underground rooms

- We could use them for training. - The place is also big enough.

We could all live there without killing each other.

That depends more on your mouth than any floor plan.

Thanks, man.

What do you think

It's not my call.

That place was Darius'.

Leelan

Would you consider letting the brothers use one of your houses

Whatever the Brotherhood needs, they can have.

Except...

don't you think we should live there too

You'd want to do that

These are your closest advisers.

The ones you trust more than any others.

- Why would we be separated from them - Hold up.

I thought we'd all agree that we wouldn't have to live with him.

You sure about this, leelan

Safety in numbers, right

There's nobody I'd rather have protecting us

than these wonderful males.

Excuse me. Is everyone else here totally in love with her

Hell, yeah.

Totally.

And if she lives with us, we get to keep the cat.

Guess we've got ourselves a home.

And, Fritz, you'll come too, won't you

Anywhere for you and the king, mistress.

The more to care for, the better.

About the cop.

He should come with us.

Any particular reason

I've dreamed of him.

Done.

But dreams or not, he bears watching.

I will accept that responsibility.

Leelan

You okay

I'm very okay.

You know,

right before I met you, I was looking for an adventure,

and I got more than that.

I got...

a past, and a future, and...

a whole life.

Sometimes, I just don't know what to do with it all.

I feel the same way.

And that's why I kiss you so often, leelan.

Man.

Are we gonna have to watch them smooch all the time

You should be so lucky.

Yeah. All I want is one good female.

But I guess I'll settle for quantity until I find her.

Life just sucks, doesn't it

Please. Please, if you would.

No throwing linens.

Peaches, anyone

Right here.

You are my peaches.

Good day, Darius,

son of Marklon.

Scribe Virgin.

You honor me with an audience.

Darius, how could I refuse

This is the first congregation you have ever asked for.

Rise now.

I would see your face.

So the Fade is not to your liking, princeps,

and you want me to send you back

I humbly tender such a request, if it would not offend.

I would see my daughter just once...

if it would not offend.

You make a better presentation than your king.

Quite a way with words that warrior has not.

She is mated.

Your daughter...

she is taken by a worthy male.

Look at you...

ne'er a query in sight.

Such control you have.

I would tell you what you pine to know.

It is to Wrath...

who is ascending.

Your daughter is queen.

Princeps.

Such joy...

and sadness in your breast.

Tell me,

the company of your sons in the Fade is not enough to feed your heart

I feel like...

I feel as if I have left her behind.

You were killed in a dishonorable fashion.

After having served the race well for centuries,

you were an honorable princeps...

and a fine warrior.

That my deeds pleased you...

gives me a great reward.

Indeed.

But what say you, princeps,

if I were to offer you more than you asked for

I would say yes.

Without knowing the gift or the sacrifice

I trust in you.

And why could you not be king

Here is what I offer you.

Life anew.

An intersection with your daughter.

A chance to fight once more.

Scribe Virgin,

I accept,

knowing I do not deserve such favors.

Here is what you will sacrifice.

You will have no conscious memory of her.

You will not be as you are now.

And I require one token of fealty.

I accept.

Are you sure

Thank you, Scribe Virgin.

My choice is made.

So be it.

I give you...

life anew,

Darius, son of Marklon.

May you find what you seek in this incarnation.
