Original subtitles

To everything there is a season.

With fun and freedom, the season is summer.

The very word evokes visions of ice cold plushies, hot dogs right off the grill,

letting down your braids and watching the sunset on Venice Beach.

And let's not forget summer love.

My summer love was Brian Beeman.

He gave me flowers and candy. He was eight.

I was his counselor up north at Camp Waihatchee.

For six weeks, I was in charge of 15 out -of -control crumb snatches. And it was

like trying to babysit Martin Lawrence.

I'd be glad summer was almost over if it wasn't for autumn.

Or in my case, fall.

As in my world falling apart. As in my daddy forcing me to attend a new school.

So, I'm going to live these last days of summer to the fullest.

Where's the party?

No,

honey.

Come on, baby. Finish him off.

got next.

It won't be long, V, because he's easy. Easy? I got you easy, Mr. Mitch. You

won't be able to go to the hoop on Shaq. Yeah, you watch me, boy, because I'm

about to school you.

Ooh, get him, Big Papa.

Yes!

Yeah!

Nothing but thick.

Chump Seat still available on Air Jordan.

This show is good to have you home, girl. Good to be home, Daddy.

Dang, Miles, it looks like you've grown.

And, Hakeem, you grew hair.

Yeah, the ladies like it.

Yeah, the ladies at Bark.

Go back to your tree, Keebler.

Hakeem, what's with the suit? You got a court date?

Very, very funny. Anyways, while you were out swatting mosquitoes, I was

paid in my new job at Classy Man.

Yeah, well, how much does a mannequin make?

Oh, gee, that was a management track, all right? Yeah, you know, so I was, uh,

kept, what you call it?

Well, let's just say I've gained a newfound appreciation for indoor

and, uh, two -ply.

newfound appreciation for your being able to buy your own school clothes.

Hey, look, no outfit is worth getting up at dawn, hauling around a bunch of

babies kids all day, and then sitting around some campfire singing.

Oh, snap.

That's my jam.

Hey, what's doing here?

Uh, listen.

Girls, look, look, I brought you something. Oh, let me see.

Oh, honey, isn't that sweet? I actually think they missed each other. Yeah, just

give them a minute, D. Wow.

Thanks, Mo.

Wait a minute.

Are those my headphones?

Yeah. And your CD, too.

I told you to stay out of my room, dumbo.

Please. I've been living in there a pencil leg.

Man, it's like the Tyson and Holyfield.

battle of the bulge?

Let's see. Me, Oprah, Luther, everybody but you, boo.

Guess who?

Let's see.

Smells like swap me perfume.

I'm glad you're back.

Man, I felt like y 'all left me.

We did.

to copy off of.

As a matter of fact, I'm the smartest one in the class.

Girl,

you in trouble.

Well, I've been doing push -aways.

Don't you mean push -ups?

No, I push away from the table.

Let me get my girls back.

And I missed y 'all.

Yeah, and I missed just about everybody.

I can see you've been stealing hair tips from the little rascals again.

Yeah, and I can see that you've been stealing fashion tips from George of the

Jungle.

Well, since everybody's here, you must be talking about Q.

Who? You know, the one you were climbing out of windows to see, missing,

clashing? The one you bailed out with your credit card?

Oh, him.

Well, for anybody who's interested.

Oh, him.

He's on his way back from New York. Okay, his bus just rolled in town. Just

enough time for the Labor Day jam.

I'm out.

Gotta get to work in time for lunch.

Crazy. What's the jamming?

Dang, Mo. You didn't have a radio up there? It's the big concert before

starts. Drew Hill's gonna be there. Drew Hill?

Mm -hmm. It's gonna be off the hook. Off the hook, girl. It's gonna be

disconnected.

But you know what? I'm gonna get connected, because it's gonna be wall

men. Well, the only man Mo wants to see is Q.

Why y 'all keep bringing up Q?

So you didn't miss him? No.

Well, a little.

I mean, I don't mind seeing him, but it's not like I'm going to try to get

with him or nothing like that.

Why?

Why?

And that's me showing the kid the backstroke?

Yeah, well, baby, you could have put on some clothes to do it.

Granny, I was wearing a bathing suit.

Looks more like a slingshot.

You won't want to see the rest of these.

Oh, Mo, before I forget, you might want to think about wearing that cute little

green dress to the fundraiser tomorrow night.

What fundraiser?

Honey, you remember the fundraiser at Bridgewood? We wrote you about it in the

letter. Yeah, the one with the check in it.

That was a letter?

I thought that was a piece of paper to hide the check.

Sorry, I can't go, but you guys go ahead. I have good time. Mo, it's the

fundraiser at your new school. I really think you ought to be there.

But I can't go, Dee. The jammy is tomorrow night.

No, Mo. You mean you can't go to the jamboree because the fundraiser is

night.

Besides, baby, when they auction off that Saturn that I donated, you might be

studying in the Frank Mitchell Library.

Oh, come on, Danny. Drew Hill is going to be there. Drew Hill, High Hill,

Blueberry Hill. You're not going.

Honey, there's going to be entertainment at the fundraiser as well. I mean, you

can jam the Little Richard.

Little Richard?

I mean, it's bad enough I've been sentenced to staying Quentin High.

Can I at least spend my last week of freedom with my friends? No, Mo. End of

discussion. Leave the butts behind you, baby.

Isn't everybody so nice and friendly?

Yes. Oh, there's the lady from Baywatch.

Oh, she's nice and friendly. Slow down, Pepe Le Pew.

You know, if we really wanted to show some style, we'd be fashionably early.

But we're going to show some class, so we'll stay and mingle.

Well, I like my idea better, but I guess we can go with you.

Honey,

honey, don't you think you ought to leave some for the others?

Hey, first come, first served. You know what?

I have no manners. We should take him home before he embarrasses anybody.

Oh, yeah. No.

Hey.

Hi, Dee.

I'm so glad you could make it. Oh, it's so good to see you.

Everybody, this is Tina Jang. She's the headmistress here at Bridgewood. Tina

and I worked together many, many years ago.

That's one many, too many.

Tina,

you remember my husband, Frank.

Of course. Thanks so much for donating the Mercedes.

I donated the Saturn.

Oh, thank you.

And who's this handsome little fellow?

This is Miles, and this is Moesha.

Welcome to Bridgewood, Moesha. Dees told me a lot about you.

Did she tell you I didn't want to come here?

Our Moesha always with the jokes. Well, she's got one joke left.

I'd like you to meet one of our new students, Moesha Mitchell.

Her parents, Frank and Dee Mitchell. Hello.

And little Miles.

Hello. And welcome, Moesha. I'm sure that Haley would be happy to show you

ropes here at Bridgewood.

Ecstatic.

I'm sure Moesha will appreciate that. Absolutely.

Mrs. Dillard's mother is one of the founders of our school.

It was nice meeting you. Excuse us. There,

you see, Mo? You already made a new friend.

Why don't you let me introduce you to some more students, Mo? Oh, no.

One's enough. I'm pacing myself.

Why don't we pick up the pace?

You're too mild.

You're such a cutie. We're going to have to get you into Bridgewood.

Yeah, not at these prices.

I'll be working for the rest of my life just to pay for this school.

I don't know, Dee. I hope we're not in over our heads, baby.

Well, Frank, Moesha can always stay at Crenshaw and study chemistry with Q.

Okay, I'll come back.

Well, you better be at high. You know, the Saturn is a great car.

Oh, yes. Well, our nanny needs something to cart the kids around in.

Wait a minute, sweetheart.

I promised Inga a Range Rover.

Oh, really? What else did you promise Inga?

Starting. Oh, I'm not starting. I'm ending.

May I have your attention, please?

Little Richard will be out in just a few minutes, so let's get ready to party!

Wow,

Little Richard.

I guess Lil' Kim was booked.

You listen to Lil' Kim?

Well, only when I'm not listening to Leigh -Anne Rimes.

What's your name again? I'm Haley, and you're Moesha?

Yeah. But you might as well assign me a number because I feel like I'm in

prison. Better get used to that.

Yeah. So how long do these shindigs usually last?

Usually three hours.

We're lucky.

Dang, Drew Hill will be through by then.

Drew Hill?

Where are they playing?

At the home.

Well, come on. We should go.

Haley, I can't. I don't have my car. And besides, my dad, he'll never let me.

I've got a car.

And leave the rest to me. Come on. Let's go.

No. Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell, I was planning on meeting some of our

a movie and a burger afterwards, and I was hoping Moesha could come with.

Oh.

You'll miss little Richard.

That's okay. I have the A -track.

No, no, no. It's okay, B.

So, uh, what do you need, pumpkin? A little cash?

Dang, Daddy, it's not a matinee.

Well, uh, you two go ahead and have a nice time.

Oh, we will.

Bye.

Look at those scales, girl.

Welcome to Bridgewood, Moisa.

If I pass summer school, my mama says she's going to buy me a Mercedes.

Can I test drive yours?

Haley, this is Kim and Nikki.

Haley goes to my new school and she hates it just as much as I do. More.

been there longer.

Yeah, he's here.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Mm -hmm.

Well, the person who you don't know who we talking about is over there.

with your friends. I'm going to go walk around and do some sightseeing. Okay.

Okay.

D .C., what are you doing?

Oh, um, my take -home final.

Which side of this triangle is the hypotenuse?

Like you need to know that to make French fries.

What are you talking about? You came this close to summer school yourself.

I got straight A.

Yeah, and cheerleading.

Excuse me.

Varsity. Cheerleading.

Oh, y 'all don't see how I came?

Anyway,

hey, Kim, you seen Michael?

Why? Now you know I never cheat on my mic.

I don't know nobody wants you. He owe me $5.

Yeah, whatever.

He is so in denial.

Judy, you are looking good.

I mean, Moesha.

Thanks. Didn't you know you look good?

Let's get in some private. Yeah, you know what I'm saying?

Why? She just going to tell us later.

So how was your summer?

It was okay.

How was New York?

It was all right.

I got to spend some time with my moms, hung out with my boys, ate real pizza,

went to school.

I got back to my roots, worked on my music.

See, I'm trying to take it to the next level. At the same time, stay where I'm

at.

See, I'm trying to create a fantasy, so my words gotta be real, you know what

I'm saying?

Not really.

Damn, you look good.

I missed you.

I missed you, too.

This ain't cool.

What's wrong?

I'm saying I'm not doing this again.

Doing what?

Just going backwards, playing myself.

Look, Mo, I like you.

I think we should just be friends.

Friends?

You know what? I was thinking the same thing.

So we're cool?

Yeah, yeah, we're cool.

See you around, all right? All right.

All right.

to go with you and Keith.

Duh. She's here.

Well, we decided that we're just gonna be friends and, you know, we're both

with that.

Really? Really.

Ooh, girls, I think Drew here likes me.

Uh, Kim?

Drew here was the entire group.

Eh?
