Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing

well today. Since modded warfare has

shared a method to install digital demo

Lua games through revert firmware

process, it's likely that more people

will start jailbreaking their PS4s using

digital demo games. In another video,

I've already made a tutorial on how to

change the icon, background, and game

title for Lua games, including digital

Lua games. But this time, I'm going to

show you how to reinstall your digital

Lua game in case it runs into an error

due to game customization or if you

accidentally deleted the game. This is

something very important that you need

to do because if that issue happens,

you'll have to reinstall the Lua demo

games from scratch. And that process is

pretty complex. Now, for me personally,

I might be able to do it myself since I

know how and I have the proper tools.

But for you as an enduser, you'd most

likely need to take your PS4 back to a

repair shop. And of course, that means

you'll have to pay again. By doing what

I'm about to show you in this tutorial

video, you can avoid all of that if your

Lua demo game gets corrupted or

accidentally deleted. So you can use

this video as a preventive step in case

something like that ever happened. And

the best part, this reinstall method

doesn't require you to go through the

full revert process. You can simply

reinstall the game directly. All right,

without further ado, let's get into the

tutorial.

All right, let me explain a bit before

we get into the steps. The method we're

going to use here is basically the same

as installing a demo game via IDU mode.

However, in this case, we're not going

to restore a backup from another PS4

because doing so would erase all your

current data, including the installed

digital Lua demo game. Since our PS4

already has the debug settings menu,

we're going to install the IDU menu

directly using the package installer

found in debug settings. First, we need

to download the retail pkg file of the

Lua game. Make sure it's a retail pkg,

not a fake pkg because fake pkgs will

get locked and won't work. Now, to get

the retail pkg link, you'll need to

extract it from your own PS4. All right,

let's prepare everything we need. First,

download the auto package install IDU.

Then, if you don't have it installed

yet, also download PS4 Explorer.

Now extract the auto package install

archive.

Inside the extracted folder, you'll find

two PKG files. These are the ones we're

going to install on the PS4. Plug your

flash drive into the computer and copy

the entire contents of the extracted

folder to the root directory of the

flash drive.

also copy the PS4 Explorer PKG file so

we can install it as well.

Once everything's copied, safely eject

the flash drive and plug it into your

PS4.

Now, let's switch over to the PS4.

As you can see here, I currently have

four digital Lua demo or trial games

installed. Let's install the PKG files

from the flash drive. First, activate

your jailbreak if you haven't already.

Then, open Gold Hen.

Go to debug settings and open the

package installer. You'll see that three

pkg files are detected here. Just select

install all to install all of them at

once. Now wait for the installation

process to complete.

Once it's done, go back to the PS4 home

screen.

You'll see that three new icons have

appeared. PS4 Explorer, Auto Package

Installer, and one more icon with no

name. That unnamed icon is actually part

of the auto package installer and should

not be deleted. Otherwise, the auto

installer won't function properly. All

right, for the demonstration, I'm going

to delete all the installed Lua games

here. Now, before we delete the digital

Lua demo game and reinstall it without

jailbreak or hen activated, we need to

grab the retail pkg link of the demo Lua

game. This is the one we'll use later

for the reinstallation. To do that,

launch PS4 Explorer. Make sure the flash

drive is still plugged into your PS4.

Select root access. Then go to system

data.

Then into the privy folder

and finally open license.

You'll see a file called entitlement.db.

This file contains the retail pkg link.

Unfortunately, we'll need to access this

file on a computer, so we have to copy

it to the flash drive. Highlight the

entitlement.db DB file. Press the

triangle button, then choose send to and

select Mnt/ USB0 or USB 1 if that's the

one showing up. Now, eject the flash

drive from the PS4 and plug it into your

computer.

Open your flash drive. Make sure you're

using the same one as before because

we're still going to need it. You'll

notice the flash drive icon has now

changed like this. Go ahead and open it.

Then, copy the entitlement.db DB file we

extracted from the PS4 earlier and move

it to your desktop. To view the contents

of a DB file like this, you usually need

to install an app like DB browser for

Escalite or something similar. But to

make it faster, we're going to skip that

and use Notepad along with ChatgPT to

help us extract the data. So, open

Notepad, then drag and drop the

entitlement. DB file onto it. As you can

see, we now have the file contents

displayed here. Somewhere in this text,

there's a JSON link that we need to

extract it faster. We'll use chat GPT to

separate the link from all the noise.

First, highlight all the text in Notepad

and copy it.

Then, open Chat GPT. Make sure you're

already logged in, otherwise the prompt

might be too long and not go through

properly. In the prompt field, type the

following prompt,

then press and hold shift and hit enter

to create a new line. Paste all the

copied text from notepad below it.

As you can see, chat GPT has now

extracted and separated the JSON links.

The number of links will depend on how

many Lua games you have installed on

your PS4. Since I have four, I've got

four JSON links here. Each of these JSON

links contains a retail PKG download

link. To see the content, just copy one

of the JSON URLs. Let's take this one as

an example

and open it in a new browser tab.

This is what the result looks like. The

retail pkg link will be somewhere in

here from this part to this part. If

you're using Chrome, you can enable

pretty print up here to make the JSON

file easier to read. The download URL

can be found under the URL section. Just

copy that link into a new tab or into a

download manager to start downloading.

If you see a warning like this, just

click keep to continue the download.

Repeat the same process for the other

JSON links. If you want to reinstall all

the games, now that I've finished

downloading all four retail PKG files,

make sure you don't rename them. Leave

the file names exactly as they are.

Otherwise, the PS4 won't recognize them

during installation. Next, we're going

to copy these retail PKG files into the

flash drive we used earlier for the auto

installer. Open the flash drive again

and go into the pkg folder. Paste the

retail pkg files inside this folder.

Now, wait for the copy process to

finish.

Once you're done, eject the flash drive

from your computer, but don't plug it

into your PS4 just yet because we'll be

doing that during the installation

process. Now, let's switch over to the

PS4. All right, we're going to reinstall

the retail PKG files from the flash

drive. But before that, we need to

delete all the previously installed LUA

demo games.

And because we're going to do this

without jailbreak or Henactive, we need

to restart the PS4 first. This is one of

the main benefits of this method. You

can install pkg files without needing

the PS4 to be jailbroken or even without

accessing the debug settings or package

installer.

Now the PS4 has restarted. As you can

see, it's back to its original state.

All homebrew apps and fake PKG games are

now locked.

And there's no sign of debug settings or

gold hen. Before we move on to the

reinstallation process for the retail

PKG file stored on the flash drive, make

sure to delete all notification messages

in the notifications menu, especially

any download notifications. Technically,

you can skip this step, but during the

installation process, these leftover

notifications can cause repeated install

errors to appear, one for each existing

notification, before the real

installation begins. So, to keep things

smooth and quick, it's best to just

clear them all out. Now, once that's

done, we can begin the process of

reinstalling the Retail PKG files. And

remember, the flash drive is still not

plugged in yet. Now, to install Retail

PKG files without using debug settings,

open the Auto Package Installer app on

your PS4. At first, when you launch the

app, it might seem like nothing's

happening, or you might see an error

message, but don't worry, that's totally

normal. The auto package installer is

actually running in the background. To

confirm that it's running, press the

options button while the auto package

installer icon is selected. You'll see

an option called close application. This

means the app is currently active in the

background. Now, press back. Do not

close the app. I just wanted to show you

that it's indeed running. Next, plug the

flash drive containing your retail PKG

files into your PS4. After a few

seconds, you'll see a notification pop

up on the screen. This indicates that

the installation process has started. As

you can see, the installation of the

first game has begun.

Once it's finished, the installer will

automatically proceed to the next game

and so on until all retail PKG files are

installed. Just wait until the entire

process is complete.

All right, it's done. All the games have

been successfully installed, ending with

a notification that says update done.

And as you can see here, the games are

not locked. That's because the licenses

are still stored on the PS4. This method

won't work on a PS4 that doesn't have

the license data saved. Even though you

could technically install the retail pkg

files using this method, the games would

remain locked and won't be playable.

Now, we can close the auto package

installer app.

Let's try launching one of the games to

activate the jailbreak since the saved

auto loader is still stored on this PS4.

And there we go. Jailbreak and Gold Hen

have been successfully activated.

All right, we've successfully

reinstalled the retail pkg files without

using debug settings and without

activating jailbreak or the gold hen

payload. Next, I recommend organizing

your home screen by placing the auto

package installer icon along with the

other icon that has no name into a

separate folder. This is just a

precaution to prevent anyone from

accidentally deleting them since these

apps are essential if you ever need to

reinstall your retail PKG files again in

the future. And that's it for today's
