Original subtitles

Come on, Brady, just try and eat something, okay?

Just a little bit, please.

Do this for Mommy. Come on.

Trudy?

You all right? You look terrible.

Yeah, I've been up all night. I cannot stop thinking about Celine.

Yeah, I know.

Brought back some pretty bad memories for me, too.

But at least when we were kidnapped, we had each other.

She is all on her own out there.

I don't know, Trudy.

Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it, you know?

I mean, we had some pretty good times with the ecos.

Maybe pride's been right all along. Maybe we should just pick up the kids

get out of here, you know?

What is it?

Did you miss me?

Hey, Trudy. Huh?

Are you okay? You look terrible.

Bad night.

Yeah, me too.

This whole business with Celine has brought it all back.

Makes me realize how lucky we were to have each other.

Yeah.

Anyway, meeting in the cafe in half an hour.

Okay, I'll be there.

He was here.

He was standing right there.

He's dead. He's not.

He was standing right there. Zeus dead, just like Ram.

I need a room.

How long you stay?

Just tonight?

Some people actually stay longer.

Got anything to trade?

Single room.

Number 12.

I'll make it a double.

I've got company.

Forget it. No vacancies. No doubles?

No vacancies.

Can't you read?

Well, what's paradise?

Are you kidding me? If you're talking about my friend out there, he's sick.

You're a problem, Ruby?

Nope. No problem.

Actually, there is a problem, Ruby.

Just between us, he's not going to make it.

It's a matter of hours now.

I could let him die out there in the street, but that might not be such a

advert for your fine establishment.

What do you think?

I'm free.

I

have

to go to the hotel to meet Mega.

Are you feeling better?

Yes.

Much.

Ebony, when you said...

This is the beginning.

You remember?

Did I say that?

Last night, when the lights went out.

Right.

Does it have something to do with the nightmares you've been having?

Nightmares.

The lights went out in your dream, and that was the beginning of the nightmare?

Something like that?

Yeah.

That's it.

What are they doing out there?

They're ruining everything.

Tell them to switch the power back on.

You tell them at the meeting.

I don't want to go to that dumb, stupid meeting.

What do they ever talk about anyway?

Boring. Duh.

Sammy, everyone's really worried. Helene's been kidnapped.

Serves her right.

Can I say something?

It's getting a little stinky in here.

If you don't like it, you can move out.

It was the last... Last time you had a bath.

Yesterday. But you were in here all day yesterday.

I had a bath in paradise, under a waterfall on a desert island with some

friends. After that, we drank some coconut milk.

Then we dug up a pirate treasure chest.

But where could he have gone without his chair?

I don't know.

I've got everyone searching the area.

We should have guessed that he had something up his sleeve just in case.

Cutting the power is a good one.

Yeah, well, Rem's not going to spoil our fun.

We'll just have to use other methods.

I have to go.

Meeting with the mole rats.

It's kind of boring in here.

Well, it's not forever.

Just think of the prize at the end.

It's so great that you guys have a whole new start.

I know you'll make the best of it, and I'm only sorry we won't be there to

it with you.

I didn't want to run off like this, but Patch hates goodbyes.

Thanks for everything.

Love, Dee.

I found it when we were packing up the old calf.

Yeah, well, thanks for nothing, Dee.

Oh, come on, Mae. They didn't know about Celine.

They didn't stick around to find out, did they?

Can we move on? We have more pressing problems.

Well, at least it clears up part of the mystery. Now it only leaves Ty Sam still

missing.

Where's Lex?

He left early this morning.

I expect he's looking for her.

This wizard, May.

Is he really dangerous, do you think? Or is it all just bluff?

I'll tell you who the real danger is. And that's Ram.

I don't care how sick he is. Giving him back to the Technos is asking for

trouble.

Well, Jay should be back with Magus soon. We'll decide then.

No, Amber. There's nothing to decide.

Not with Deline's life on the line. As far as I'm concerned, if these guys want

Ram back, there's no argument.

They can have him.

It's real.

It's real.

John?

This is real.

This is real.

This is so unreal.

Sorry we're late. It's getting pretty ugly out there.

We had to take the long way around.

What's going on?

Kids are all hooked on paradise.

Without electricity, they can't use it.

And they're not too happy about that.

If anyone's leaving the mall, I'd advise you not to go alone.

Tex went out of his own.

He'll be okay, Ma.

Can you turn it back on?

Rand's broken the computers to shut down automatically, unless a password's

given at regular intervals.

His way of heading back.

So, we need to get hold of Ram and get the password out of him, right?

This is unbelievable.

When Selene's life's on the line, Ram's too dangerous. But as soon as you want

the power back on, hey, let's get him back here. You know I didn't mean it

that.

Of course we'll trade him for Selene, if it comes to that.

Well, then let's get him back now.

Unfortunately, there's a problem with that.

He's gone.

What do you mean, gone?

He's not where we left him.

We found the chair, but no Ram.

How far could he get without that chair?

Well, we searched everywhere, but nothing.

You lost him?

The one person that could have saved Selene's life, and you lost him?

These techno friends of yours.

Do you think they'll carry out their threat?

I can't lie to you. Wizard's a piece of work.

He just might do it.

Nice looking girl.

I know that.

Have you seen her?

Yeah, I think so.

Where?

Paradise. She was serving drinks.

No, I mean in the real world.

Oh, forget it.

Hey, Lex.

We haven't seen you around much, do we?

Not unless you've got something to sell.

Well, now you've seen me.

Maybe because the stuff you're hogging is no good.

Like these helmets.

That's not my fault.

In case you haven't noticed, it's been a power fit.

So what are you going to do about it?

Just be patient.

Keep your hands off me!

You must have some idea where this place is, May.

I was blindfolded.

Did you speak to her?

No.

We're doing nothing!

We're sitting around waiting for them to make contact!

Where are you going?

I'm going to find her.

Pride!

May! May!

May, something's in a bad way.

I think you need to talk to someone.

Are you okay?

Amber, do you believe in ghosts?

What?

Seriously, do you believe it is possible to make contact with people who are

dead?

Bray's not dead, Trudy. We've been over this.

Yeah, I'm not thinking about him.

Well, who then?

Zoot.

You're serious?

Um, no, I don't believe it's possible.

Did you see a ghost?

No, not me.

Ebony. And I shouldn't be telling you, but Amber, she was so convinced.

Now, she's putting you on.

No, she's not.

She said that Zoot was right there in the room with us.

I could almost feel him there, too, you know?

But you didn't see anything.

No.

Well, look, don't worry.

If I know Ebony, she's either losing it or she's lying.

Either way, Zoot's not coming back.

Believe me.

You alright?

You want something to eat?

No, I'm hungry.

Well, you gotta eat something.

How are you gonna cook a meal?

There is no power.

Well, you don't need electricity to eat.

We could build a fire and cook something.

Come on, I'll show you.

Surfing. I'd like to try that sometime.

You know,

There's stuff to see out there in the city.

It's every bit as good as that.

And it's free.

You don't need power.

Like what?

Like the sunset.

Trees. Shadows in the afternoon.

You sound just like Pride. Always telling us to go out and do stuff.

What does he know? He can't even rescue his girlfriend.

Paradise is gone. Snap out of it.

It's all not a sign.

Someone must have helped him. He couldn't have moved on his own.

Everything else going okay?

We got the whole city freaking out about Zoot's car.

We need the power back on fast.

If Ram's alive, he'll be plotting revenge.

And we'll need all the power we can get.

Jay said that we were right.

We beat the Technos, but we forgot that we're keeping the team.

Let's get you picked up at least.

No, I'm going to stay here and do what I can do to calm them down.

Keep going back.

You're looking for her.

Don't think I don't know.

See, I'm getting sick of all this suspicion.

How do you think it makes me feel knowing that you don't trust me? I want

I think you love me.

You still care about me.

Yeah. Do as I told you. Go back.

Just get ready to delete them all.

Just a little test of control.

That's all that was needed.

Hey, mister.

Javi? The name's Slade.

Can you hear me?

I'm going downstairs.

Don't delete anybody till I get back.

I think we should wait till Pride gets back.

He's not going to like it. We need the electricity.

Say what you like about the Technos. They united the city.

They brought everyone together.

A city of dependence.

Is that what you call togetherness?

Look, we can use the same technology, the TVs, the computers, to spread a

different message.

Our message.

That's right.

The kids are used to having power now. They expect it. You mean they're hooked

on it?

Okay, they're hooked.

But look what happens when you try and switch it off.

They're already blaming us. Look, I say we have to help Mega.

And the best way to do that is to give him back his workforce.

You mean release the prisoners?

Well, they can't all be monsters, can they?

Well, at least two of them are.

Look, I know we're all worried about Selene.

But really, there's nothing we can do until we wait for Wizard to make his

move.

In the meantime, we've got a crisis here.

Jay and I are going to go to the hotel and discuss it with Mega.

Anyone want to come?

Count me out. Me too.

You are the paradise of freaks.

They say once you've been there, you can't fear to leave.

I don't know where he's been.

But it doesn't sound like paradise to me.

Excuse me.

Sorry about that.

Accidents will happen.

Yeah, and there'll be a lot more if you don't get out of here.

And take this briefly.

Must be some mistake, boys.

The room is peaceful.

The only mistake you ever made, checking in here at all.

What's going on?

Room's up.

Got my order up.

I need some water.

I'll get you some.

Sorry you were troubled.

No trouble at all, Ruby.

Thank you.

Can I sit with you?

Sure, you want to?

Why is everyone arguing?

I don't know, math.

That's just the way it is sometimes.

But I thought we won.

So did I.

Come here.

You're a good kid.

We all get a bit scared sometimes.

That's when you have to be brave.

Just tell yourself there's nothing to be afraid of.

You know, nothing at all.

Have you seen Jay?

Yeah, he went up to the hotel with Amber.

He what?

We're going to need a new militia for this.

Have you thought about asking Ebony?

She has a lot of expertise in that area.

I can't talk to her.

She just keeps freezing me out ever since we came back to the city.

I think she might be jealous.

Jealous?

Of you and me.

For some reason, she's got it into her head that we... Well, anyway, I can't

talk to her.

I think there may be more to it than that.

Like what?

Come on.

We'll go around the back.

There must be a million different combinations.

How are you going to crack the code?

By being the best.

Rem taught me well.

How long?

It may take a while.

Well, you're going to need protection.

There's a very angry mob outside.

We'll release a few more of the men.

Just ones we can trust.

Do I have your permission?

Of course.

You better get going.

Good luck, Micah.

Amber, what do you think about Ebony? Okay, look, we've got to get out of

Please, look, please say there was more to it.

Amber, I need to know.

Looking for something?

Looks again to be a habit.

Oh, God.

I don't care that you two are an item.

But do you have to do it in public?

Ebony, there is nothing going on.

And I'm out of here.

Oh, why don't you take him with you, Amber? I won't get in your way.

What's got into you?

I've seen the way you look at her.

And I know you were talking about me just then.

I can picture it.

How are we going to tell her?

Poor Ebony, I always seem to steal her man.

She told me.

What? Ebony, she told me about Zoot.

Judy. They care about me.

I don't know why, since you hate them so much, but they do.

And so do I. She had no right.

Besides, I've got a beat.

I want to help.

You can't.

Not with this.

Why not?

We've all been through a bad time.

This is different.

Why? This isn't in my head.

This is real.

This is really happening.

Jake.

So bright.

I don't know what's happening to me.

Just please don't leave me.

Don't leave me.

You must know where she is.

You worked with her. You found out she was spying.

So what? I was spying too, remember?

I couldn't tell her that. I couldn't tell anybody.

And at the end of it all, she just took off. I don't know where she went.

I don't believe you.

You think I haven't lost friends, Lex?

Loved ones? What do you think of Rebecca Ram?

I don't know.

Why didn't you tell me?

Because you lied.

Reality space doesn't exist.

I know how you feel about her.

You miss her more every day.

You trade eternity and paradise just for one more day with her.

Because you love her.

And that can't be digitized, can't be programmed.

Look.

last time we went.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean any of that. I just want to find her.

You know?
