This is an important news flash.

This is an important news flash. Have you seen this man?

He's a dangerous criminal who's wanted for crime to get to the city.

If you see him, apprehend him at once.

If you see him, apprehend him at once.

What's going on? Looks like they're not letting anyone in or out. I'll change my

barcode anyway. I'm public enemy number one. No problem.

What do you think of me?

I know a way out.

Follow me. Keep your head down.

I can't even mind it.

I really, really care about you, but not in that way.

I care about you as a friend.

That's funny.

What?

There's usually two heavies guarding the tunnel.

Let's go to Butcher's.

What do you mean by Butcher?

Butcher's. A Butcher's hook. Now look, Jack, where have you been all your life?

That's why the heavies aren't there.

Maybe they found the tunnel.

I know.

They're going to get me, man. They're going to hunt me down and they're going

use my own punishment game on me and then they're going to absolutely torture

me.

I need you to get on sitting there straight away.

I'm about to close down all the checkpoints. No one's being allowed out.

Yeah, I saw.

They're going crazy out there.

That's why you need to broadcast.

To tell them there's no need to panic.

It's all for their own good.

The rebels are causing a few problems outside, but it's all under control.

We just need to make sure no one gets into the city.

And the real reason?

Jack tried to hack into the main core computer files.

Jack? He's on the run.

He won't get away.

Hi. Hi.

How are you?

Fine. Great.

Did you sleep?

Yeah, like a baby. How about you?

Oh, yeah.

No problem.

Good.

So I wonder what work Mega has planned for us today.

Celine, please, we have to talk.

May, we've talked about it. We've been through it. Please.

Don't touch me.

Are you listening?

Just leave me alone.

Please, everyone, don't panic.

The extra security measures are for your safety.

As soon as the rebels are rounded up, everything will go back to normal.

Work well.

How can she do that?

Just sit there, telling Meg his lies.

I think she looks great.

She's been listening to me about makeup. You can tell. Get real, girl.

What about?

Is this some stupid old cheek point?

Maybe you should listen to me, too.

Then perhaps your boyfriend wouldn't want to torture you.

You stupid little airhead.

If the checkpoints are closed, wouldn't that mean Lex won't be able to get back

into the city?

Lex.

See?

So, uh, where is it? You know, a tunnel?

Not a tunnel.

What? What does that mean? It's a way out.

But how?

Jack. Trust me.

Vic. What is it, man?

Don't worry.

It's easy.

Thank you for the broadcast, Amber.

You were excellent, as usual.

You have an air of honesty about you. You're lucky. People trust you

Glad to be of help.

I wish you could really trust me, Amber.

I am doing this for everyone's benefit, you know.

One day, I hope you'll be able to thank me.

Um, how's Trudy?

Much the same. Sad, not talking.

And you've no idea what it's about?

Trudy's been through a lot.

I guess it's all just hit her.

Do you want to see her?

I mean, maybe you could get her to open up.

Oh, I can't right now.

I just thought with you two being so close.

Yeah, well, I've really got to dash.

Oh, well, don't forget your coat.

What's the problem?

Our building's out of the zone. All we've got to do is clear this and we're

free. Yeah, I know. It's a long way.

It's nothing.

I'm in town.

What's it going to be, Jack?

A touch of your own genius at the punishment game?

You'll probably jam on the road down there.

Your turn.

Jack!

Look, there he is! Hey, he's right there! Stop!

Nick!

Help me, man!

Help!

That was easy.

You made it? Come on.

Am I disturbing you?

No, not at all. Come in.

How's the child?

She's fine. She doesn't understand what's going on.

No, of course not.

I wish we could all still be that way.

So innocent.

No!

Well, it's up to us to make sure she grows up to a better world than we did.

Do you mind?

Oh, no, please, not at all.

Have you got everything you want?

No.

No, I... I don't have anything that I want.

Oh, I can't do this.

Sammy,

be a pet and make me a cup of coffee.

Okay, I know how you like it.

Gal? Hmm?

Why didn't you and Lex... That's none of your business.

I thought you fancied him.

I might, and I might not.

I might fancy someone else.

Who?

That'd be telling.

Is he here, in the mall?

Are you making me that coffee or not?

Hi. What's the matter with that nutcase friend of yours?

Excuse me?

Mate, she nearly snapped me and Sammy's heads off just now.

What about?

Nothing. She's crazy.

She's on the roof.

Them two, they're crazy.

There's something up between them.

I bet they're after the same fella.

There's always a trouble between girls.

This other guy.

What other guy?

The guy in the mall that you might fancy.

Sammy, will you do me a really big favor?

Okay. Go and get my nail varnish. There's a pet.

What about this other guy?

And if you do, I might let you paint them for me.

May, what are you doing?

Aren't you cold up here?

I don't blame you, Celine.

I don't blame you at all.

It was a shock to me, too.

I didn't expect it.

That... I'm just sad that you can't admit it, too.

May, let's talk.

Let's go inside and talk.

Don't worry, I'm not going to jump.

Just listen out which way to go.

Go?

It's a big world out there, Selene.

Outside this rat hole we call home.

You're leaving?

You're leaving the mall?

I can't stay, Selene.

But where? Where are you going to go?

It doesn't matter, does it?

Take care of yourself.

You're a beautiful person.

Checkpoints are closed. How will he get out of the city?

Meg is bound to catch him in there.

Jack is a survivor, and he'll probably have Lex with him, too.

Cray, Mr. Look -After -Number -One.

Allie, that's not fair.

Lex isn't a total saint, but he's not a total jerk, either.

He's on our side.

Well, it suits him.

What if Meg puts up rewards for Jack? How long will Lex be Mr. Good Guy, then?

Allie, I know you're worried about Jack, but worrying won't do any good.

Just try and be positive, okay?

I don't know.

Everything just seems to be coming to a head.

It's as if this whole thing's going to blow any minute.

With us right in the middle.

I'll contact Jay later.

I'll see if he knows anything about Jack.

Oh, I just came to get some water.

Are you going somewhere?

Observant. You're leaving the mall?

Big deal.

Is there a problem?

Do you mean anybody cares?

May, if there's something wrong... Look.

Just forget about it. It's no big deal.

Just time to move on, that's all.

See you around.

Oh, and thanks.

What for?

Just thanks.

You know, you and me, we make a great team.

Yeah?

Yeah. Look at it.

Mega's Fortress.

Checkpoints closed, all routes guarded, electric fences.

You mean electrified.

What?

And what do we do?

We just fly right out of there. And what's more, with Mega's top secret

to boot.

Yep, just walk in and walk right out.

Will I do it?

Yeah, you.

But I got you out.

I'm the warrior, you're the genius. Together, a great combination.

By the way, don't tell anyone back at Liberty about the software.

Why not?

Well, it's between me and Ram.

In fact, it might be better if I look after it, partner.

Okay, I mean, I don't see why you... Tell me you haven't. It

was there before I jumped, I swear.

Brian's door.

We've got to go find it. I swear it was there.

You know...

I should have let you fall.

Oh, I'll let... Found it!

Are you winding me up? No, look, there was a hole in the bucket and it fell

the lining, look.

Ow!

Your great teeth!

Careful, it's supposed to be my nails, not halfway my arm!

Sorry, you moved.

I bet she's gone to meet him.

What? May.

Poor Celine.

She looks ever so sad.

May got him first, I bet.

She's gone to meet her boyfriend.

And Lex is out there too, isn't he?

What do you mean?

A bit of a coincidence, ain't it?

Sammy, Lex is mine.

I told you.

But you said you didn't want him. You said there was another guy in the mall.

I was joking, Annette.

What? What other guy is there in the mall?

You think I meant you?

Why not?

Because you're a kid?

Haven't you noticed?

Everybody's a kid. There was a virus.

Kids.

Nobody gets the lead.

All coming.

Haven't you heard?

This is crazy. I do not want to come back. Just let me out.

You heard of the new punishment game on CityNet?

Like to be in it?

I can arrange it.

Hey,

what happened with May, Celine?

What do you mean?

Mom, she left.

Just packed her bags and gone.

She didn't say anything to you about it?

No.

I don't want to talk about it.

So something did happen. What? I said I don't want to talk about it, okay?

Hey.

Did you get it?

It's okay.

That's it? Just that?

Some people are never grateful.

Oh, Jack.

We risked our necks getting this, pal.

But I thought for a casino you'd need all kinds of... What, what?

Casino what?

Casino. Uh, casino.

The, the, the, the, the, the code name.

You know.

Jack, will you go get me a beer?

My mouth's parched. It feels like sandpaper. You should get one for

well. Right, I, okay.

What's going on?

This little beaut is going to make us a fortune.

There's enough info on this to run over a hundred virtual casinos.

No.

Believe it.

Selene?

What is it? What's happened with May?

Is this about that letter? Her mystery lover?

So, how'd you guys get on?

I got it.

All the stuff Ram wanted?

Everything.

We got the security files, got the core program. There is nothing he won't know

about Mega's operation now. We can take it about piece by piece.

We can dismantle his whole warped empire.

But I... Yeah?

Nothing. You guys have done great.

Bye -bye, Mega.

You reckon?

According to Ram, it's all he needs to bring the whole empire crashing down.

But I don't understand.

I thought it was for upgrading the... You know, I hope you guys remember who

risked their necks to go out and get this.

Has Ram seen it yet?

Oh, no.

Well, don't you think he'd like to?

I mean, he is the technical genius after all.

Sure.

I'll take it to him.

Something the matter, Lex?

Meg. You saw it. I did show it to you, yeah?

Yeah. Lex, have you lost it?

No.

No, it was in my hand just a moment ago.

It's got to be around here somewhere.

It can't just disappear.

You're hurting me.

Is this it?

Well?

Well, well, well.

Look what we've got here.

Pirate's treasure chest.

You're good.

Getting one over on left.

It was just a spur -of -the -moment thing. I didn't mean anything by it,

honestly. I just felt sorry for her.

She was so down on herself.

I didn't know how she felt.

I don't think she did either.

Maybe not.

There's nothing wrong with it, though.

No, nothing wrong with it, nothing at all. It's just not for you.

Poor May.

I let her down, Allie. She was my friend, and I drove her away.

Hey.

I just...

I couldn't give her... I feel so bad. Where is she going to go?

May the survivor.

She's straight smart. She'll be okay.

She was upset. She could do anything.

There are all kinds of bad people out there just waiting to take advantage.

I'm so worried.

Do you want to go out and look for her? I'll come with you if you like.

I don't know. What would I say if I found her?

What do you want to say?

Upgrade the casino, Lex.

We'll make a fortune.

Very clever.

I thought you'd appreciate that, Lex, an expert con man like you. I risked my

life. And for a very good reason.

I mean, don't you want to restore democracy in your little city?

Democracy?

You don't know the meaning of the word.

A form of government run by the people for the people.

Something like that, isn't it?

Very messy and impractical, and surprisingly very popular.

What's the matter?

You didn't think I would go out if I knew what it was really for?

Well, would you?

There's a lot of things you don't know about me, Ram.

Yeah, a lot I probably wouldn't like to know, Lex.

I'm on to you.

You don't want to bring Mega down, and you care no more for democracy than the

man on the moon.

You're up to something, and I'm going to watch every move.

You make.

And if you take one false step, he'll be there to stop me falling.

I'll be there, pal.

He could have got out of the city. There's no way.

If he's with Lex, he'll know.

Yeah, I hope so.

If Maggie catches up with him... You can never tell, can you?

What?

The brave ones from the cowards.

I mean...

Looking at him, you wouldn't think... Yeah, but don't underestimate Jack.

He's braver than the best of them.

And you don't know the half of what we've been through together.

You morons.

You're something.

Would you be with us if we weren't?

Is Trudy still with Megan?

Yeah, but I don't think she said anything.

I don't think she will.

She won't, Jay. I know her.

She...

Well, she was my best friend.

Hey. I feel really bad about it, Jay.

Amber, you have nothing to feel bad about.

It was my fault.

I mean, after you rejected me, I felt

pretty vulnerable.

And Trudy was so sweet, so understanding.

Don't.

I'm just glad that it's out in the open now.

I've wanted you since... Did you go to camp?

Yeah, me too.

Oh, what's wrong?

What is that?

Mega.
