Original subtitles

Oh my god.

That's nuts. That's crazy.

There's a sorcery at play.

This is the Carbonaro Effect.

Hey, I'm Michael Carbonaro, and welcome to the Carbonaro Effect Exposed. Over

the past year, I've gotten to sneak out into the public and make everyday,

unsuspecting people like you react like this.

Whoa, you've got to be careful. Oh, yeah.

Good and talk. That's something, right? What?

I get it. I was just as excited on the inside that I was able to get away with

it. So I wanted to find out what are your favorite moments from the show. So

did I know? I looked through your tweets, your posts, your comments to

what you like best. And I want to thank you guys. Some of your feedback has been

really amazing.

Love the show.

Best show on TV.

Pretty good. Saw it at Sarah's.

Based on most of your feedback, I'm going to show you the top moments of

season, along with some inside information, extended cuts, and some

-before -seen rehearsal footage that will hopefully not expose how I do these

tricks. All right.

One trick that you all seem to go crazy over is the duck decoy, like Patty

Cheeseman, who tweeted, My favorite is the duck decoy. I laugh every time.

Thank you, Patty. Well, I have something for you. On my phone... The footage of

the very first time I tried this trick out on my buddies in rehearsal.

Let's watch this.

Oh my gosh, we just got another one of these in here. I'm sorry, I'm so

I just want to buy a... Check them out, man.

Doesn't look real.

I guess.

Oh, one of the total feet came off.

What's that going for over here?

Oh,

it has a battery in it already.

Whoa. Yeah, it looked great.

I mean, you guaranteed, if you're a hunter, they just look really real.

That's crazy.

So how did I know the duck wasn't going to just fly away like it did in

rehearsal? I didn't.

This, we just got in. Have you ever seen one of these before?

It's a duck.

Well, it's like a decoy, yeah. I was just intending to do this trick for this

one guy right here. But when you're in a real situation with real people, things

tend to take on a life of their own.

It looks pretty good.

Why don't you put the head on here and just give him a little shake, I think.

One of the most realistic decoys.

They don't make them.

No, it's a decoy.

So now we have a duck on the counter and it seems like everybody wanted to come

in and get a look at it.

There was a choking hazard because people were taking them home and cooking

them. Yeah, because they thought it was real.

Usually I'm the one who has to convince people, but this

woman here, she's doing half the work for me.

Which brings us to our next moment.

This one took place at the end of a long shoot day at a bar, and we were just

about to call it a day, and...

This guy walked up to me.

I'm back.

How you doing?

Okay. I could complain, but I won't.

Can I get you another beer?

Yes, sir.

Come on. It was the end of the day for him, too. He wanted a beer. Was I not

going to give him at least one?

You ever had one before?

No, I'll try it. Oh, yeah. It's brand new.

Brand new. It comes from Milwaukee.

And we were the first bar to get a case of them and wanted to see how people

would enjoy them. I'll pour the whole thing out, right? You'll drink all of

Unless I hate it. Unless you hate it? Okay.

I probably won't. Oh, yeah.

It's a micro brew. Yeah.

You're a beer lover, right?

That's a 12 -ounce bottle.

Oh, no. Is that the cold compression process in it?

So it's easy to really compress a lot of beer into one.

Yeah.

He's getting real suspicious.

You see that? So I thought cold compression process would have thrown

Got to think of something else.

You could fit a lot more into a bottle than companies actually put because it's

carbonated. So you can get a lot more in there. It's condensed air.

That's not true of all beers.

No, not of all beers, no. Only ones that are amber -toned.

Yeah, but I find this a little bit hard to believe.

There's got to be something that could justify fitting five pints of beer into

one bottle.

Yeah, we do a whole part. The thing is, one bottle is $55.

Oh, I didn't know that.

Yeah.

He refuses to believe that it could all possibly fit inside, but I mentioned

it's worth $55, and that's what it is. I was going to say, what's the price of

admission?

Okay. Apparently for the right price, even the laws of physics can be broken.

Now on to our next moment, which comes to us from Jen Jackson 328, who says,

just curious, did anyone ever find the guy that disappeared in the sarcophagus?

Funny story.

No.

Take a look at this.

How are you? I'm great. How are you guys doing? Good. What's your name? Ronika.

Ronika. Nice to meet you, Michael. Nice to meet you. All right.

That's Darren.

Nice to meet you.

How are you doing?

Renika thought she'd just been hired to help me and my friend set up an Egyptian

display in a museum.

All right, we're going to be getting an actual mummy.

How tall are you, Darren?

Oh, like 5 '10", 5 '10". 5 '10"? Well, if you would fit in here, then a mummy

would fit in here.

Well, how else are you supposed to measure a sarcophagus?

Yeah, you fit the whole thing. Look, you can wear that.

Oh, that's lovely.

Yeah, he, like, fits in the whole thing. He would be like, oh, wait.

Oh, shoot.

Can you help me?

Oh, my gosh. Darren?

Look at that reaction. You see that? That's the kind of reaction you

get when you see something like that for the first time.

I have the footage of the first time I ever got to see that in action.

Can we both fit in the photo?

Oh, jeez. What? Oh, my God.

His glasses.

I'm concerned.

Now, I thought there was only going to be one Scarab in that box.

I had no idea there was going to be a whole group gaggle. What is it? Pride?

Scarab? I'll look it up.

Coming up next, we'll take a closer look at this dude.

Dude.

We'll be right back.

Hey, welcome back to the Carbonaro Effect Exposed.

I'm Michael Carbonaro, and we're going through our top moments based on your

feedback. And I am so happy about this next one.

Here's what happened.

We hired Andrew to help me out with some rare wedding cake toppers.

But then, oops, I broke one.

Yeah, here's I got it.

Oh, my gosh.

Okay.

Okay.

Let's just pick these pieces up and put them in here.

Take his little leg and put it in here. Take a little leg, put it in there.

Maybe he'll just, like, be interested in just one of them, you know?

What?

How'd she change positions?

Is that weird?

That's weird. I'm freaked out now. I'm really freaked out now.

Now that right there was supposed to be the end of the trick. That's it. Groom

breaks, bride reacts. How did it happen? Ooh, Carbonaro effect.

No, I feel like we need to bury him now.

Not really bury him, but, like, put him in his little home.

That's not a bad idea.

But he was still so engaged in it that I felt like I just had to keep going.

It's weird that... That's literally she's blocking her eyes.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Oh, my God!

What? Okay,

all right, I'm not. That I wasn't even planning to do. I had to just make that

up on the spot.

Well, at least she's happy now.

I don't care how she is. It's weird. There's, like, ghosts. That's some ghost

stuff, bro.

That's ghostly.

And of course, once she changed back, I had to bring back the groom.

Not for the show, but for Andrew.

She's happy now that you put them together, though.

You know what I mean?

But he's not put back together.

You know what I mean? Just because you put the pieces.

Dude, he's faked. I'm freaking out.

I'm freaking out.

It's faked.

I'm not joking.

It's fixed.

Open it.

I'm freaking out. I swear to God, dude.

It's fixed.

I'm freaking out. Oh, my God. I'm freaking, dude. This is the weirdest

experience I have ever experienced in my entire life.

Can you get a better response than that?

No.

And you guys should have responded. We got tweets like, I think you freaked him

out with that ghost stuff, bro.

I simply adore that ghost stuff bro guy. He is hilarious. Even I tweeted that it

was the best reaction I ever heard.

And it was.

That's ghost stuff, bro.

That's ghostly.

So, Andrew, thank you for being such a good sport with all that ghost stuff.

Bro.

You know, someone actually tweeted asking, do you ever wish the fake

your show were actually real? Yes, actually, I do. I love...

That's this game, creating unbelievable things that I wish were real, and I love

watching the reactions of people who believe that they are.

Like clay that can be sculpted by sound?

Yes. It was just another day in a toy store when I introduced a father and his

son to Sado.

You feel that?

It's like a regular kind of clay substance, but like if you go woo, near

has like a... Do you feel how it vibrates a little?

Yeah, so what does it do?

It like picks up on sound frequencies.

So if you just put it in there, it has a microphone that goes with it, right?

And you plug it in the side of the can.

Maybe I didn't see this. I feel like I'm on a dope thing. Yeah, and then you

just, like, say something. And it amplifies it, and it will

shape it into, like, that shape. Oh, my gosh.

Look at that.

Isn't that weird?

The top moment here is this father's reaction when my cell phone...

accidentally goes off during my demonstration.

You can make a sound.

Oh, I'm sorry.

I don't know.

Dude, do that. That would be really cool. Did it pick it up?

Oh my God, that is just bizarre.

I've never seen it do that.

And this trick is actually one of my favorites for something you didn't see.

I'm Michael Carbonaro.

You're on my TV show right now.

You're serious?

I'm absolutely serious. What the freak is this thing? I'm a magician.

I'm a magician. I do that with magic.

Is this thing real?

It's not real.

You're kidding me. I'm a magician. Yeah, I have a show. And you did that? I did

that with magic, yeah.

So you can't buy this?

Unfortunately, not yet. But if I find a patent for it.

Carbonaro effect.

Sometimes the hardest thing I have to do is break the news that it isn't real. I

mean, it is real.

Magic. How? How?

Physically, how?

I'll explain that to her after this.

I vocalize all the music tracks in the show. Hey, welcome back to the Carbonaro

Effect Exposed. I'm Michael Carbonaro. We are looking back at the top moments

the season based on your tweets, comments, and posts.

You know, a lot of people wrote in saying that they really enjoy my non

to people's questions or double -talking. And I have to say that I'm

the most double -talky and non -answery in this one encounter with a woman that

many of you have dubbed...

the bowling ball lady.

How are you doing today?

And he caught, Oh, would you mind grabbing me that?

Okay. You know what? It's actually kind of heavy. So no, really? Is it not?

Then it's the wrong thing.

Oh yeah. This is heavy. No,

it is.

Yeah. This shouldn't be it.

You know what this was supposed to be? I keep messing this up.

Look at it.

It was supposed to be a bowling ball, custom bowling ball.

So you're back. Oh, wait.

Oh, good, good, good.

Wait, how did I pick that up like that? Oh, that's me. I forgot. They ship the

bowling balls with the basketball so that it's lighter, the air.

Now, here's what's interesting. The trick is over right from the beginning,

all of the fun of this is in the aftermath, and it's woman's absolute

determination to get me to answer one simple question.

All right, that was in there and this was in there with it? Yes.

How?

Just so that it's easier for them to... No, how did this close?

That's how they ship them that way. Wait, no, how did it close? It doesn't

Okay, I have to say this one was actually difficult for me not to laugh

because she just kept going. She must have asked me how like a dozen times.

How could both of these items have physically been in the box? It doesn't

So they have to put this in there so that it's light.

But how did they put it in there? If both of these items can't... Just as a

courtesy. No, how physically?

How did they make both of these things fit in this one box? How did both of

these things fit in this small box?

How?

Just as a factory. How did both of these things fit in this box?

But how did both of these... Look, they don't fit.

How did you pull both of those things out of there? So how did this basketball

fit with it?

How did these fit? How did they close this?

I know, but how?

How? How?

How?

How? How?

No, I understand the reason why.

Yeah. Okay. But how did they fit?

So how did both things fit in that box?

Just so that it won't be heavy. How? How?

Physically, how?

I really don't know what you mean.

23 times?

Oh my gosh. Okay.

You know what? You deserve to know. If you're going to ask that much, I'm going

to tell you how I did it.

I started...

by putting three balls in the box and taking one away.

Now you know.

And now, a big favorite of yours, and I am so happy that this one ranks so high

because it is my personal favorite.

I have some metal beetles if you want. Are you doing this yourself?

Yes, I was doing that myself.

Oh, okay.

They're good for that one if I have a metal one. Yeah,

one metal one.

In an everyday environment, Everyday object, something truly incredible

They work nocturnally.

Something's out.

Yeah, that's a wood one.

That's wood. He went right for the wood.

This guy here.

You see him?

He's gnawn, but he's a metal guy. Okay.

Yeah, but he won't like the wood, so I'll cover these guys up.

I'll put them right here.

And the metal guy...

He'll work in the dark, too. So if you're doing a faucet, this one is

here. So if I put the little metal guy next to it, there he goes.

Now imagine that nut's trapped behind the wall, and you can't reach it. You

actually hear him go.

Can you hear him? They go very quickly when it's dark.

Are you serious?

And then when you don't hear the sound anymore, you can see he undoes it.

This guy also gets the prize for the longest amount of time anyone's jaw has

remained open during a trick.

And these guys, they take a little bit longer. You can hear them. Can you hear

them?

A little bit of a chewing sound in there.

Yeah. Yeah.

So they learn from the blueprint.

We let them, like, sit on it, and they're supposed to get to know what it

So, yeah.

Oh, hell no.

Yeah, they're pretty good.

Are you serious?

Yeah.

Wait a minute.

Yeah.

You're kidding me. No, their saliva is like a natural adhesive, almost like a

spider web.

Wow.

At the best, or almost the best, we still have your absolute top moment left

go. And here's a hint.

This trick made a guy say this.

What the bleep indeed.

We'll be right back.

Hey, welcome back to the Carbonaro Effect Exposed. I'm Michael Carbonaro,

are up to your favorite trick from the show. We received more mentions of this

than anything else. A little something we like to call guarded car.

Woo!

Is this for you? Oh, my gosh.

Yes.

Were you here last night? I wasn't. I just got here, but I heard about it last

night. I heard about it. Oh,

my God. I can't believe it.

Now, of course, once I leave to get the winning ticket, the real fun begins.

I'm going to just run and see if I have a ticket in my house. Take your time.

What

the

f***?

It worked like a charm.

A lot of people have written in and said that the only way that that possibly

could have happened was to edit something out.

Well, you're half right.

No, I really made the car vanish, and it really happened instantly.

But what I did edit out was the amount of time it actually took for him to

notice. All right, I'm going to just run and see if I have a ticket to my house.

Take your time.

Car's gone.

Still waiting.

Come on, look behind you, buddy.

Car's not there.

Could we roll ahead a little bit of time here?

And he's

talking to himself.

Okay.

Can you roll ahead a little more, please?

A little more, please?

And... There he goes.

A minute and a half. Well, the reaction was absolutely worth it.

What the... I couldn't agree with you more.

And it was certainly worth all the wait.

So that's it. Our best moments of the Carbonaro Effect so far.

And it's all thanks to you. I love reading about what you guys like. Thank

so much for writing in all your comments.

And before I go, I just wanted to address one thing that I saw popping up

You guys kept saying you really loved the weird explanations that I used to

explain away the impossible.

So I figured I'd end here and leave you with some of the craziest.

Enjoy.

Centrifuge with the gravity. Oh, yeah, they pack them this way in the factory

make sure that they don't come with mice inside.

For new cars, what you want to do as soon as you get it is smash out the

window and roll up the real window.

He's Keith Smith.

Yeah. Very different. You don't see a lot of Keith Smith anymore.

I've never seen another one. Yeah, it's a vegan pet.

You know, it's part mammal, part plant.

Oh. That it sends it up wirelessly to the satellite, to the modem.

And then this is the receiver.

So it just comes out.

Wow, technology has really gotten advanced.

Yeah. The thread pulls down on a spiral spoke inside.

The main middle shaft is a brass piston.

Okay. That holds up and down on its original bolt.

And then it'll make the tail of the shirt.

No.
