Original subtitles

Hey, how you doing today? Michael Carbonaro has an effect on people.

nuts. That's cool.

Oh my God!

Hiding in plain sight.

Michael, nice to meet you. He makes them fall for the impossible.

The best thing to do is just pick them up by the tail.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Oh my God!

This is the Carbonaro Effect.

I think air got inside.

I'm not sure they're going to work out. What is that?

Oh, these are those government cheese snacks.

They're like MREs.

It was the ones made by NASA, and I think air got in some of them, and

why they're not... How is it floating?

They're baked inside of a compression chamber. They're like anti -gravity

snacks.

See, and if air doesn't... Yeah, see, once air gets inside the snack...

That'll... There it goes.

Wow.

Yeah, and then you can eat it like... Damn.

Like an astronaut.

This is why I was like, is it me or he was floating before? Yeah. It was.

Yeah. Like, there's no stream.

No, yeah. Yeah, they do it that way so you can get a real simulated test.

got like a negative charge.

A negative charge.

They're baked with a higher atmospheric pressure.

So when you open it, they lift up on our... Yeah, even the bag, they run out

it.

Yeah, I think it's gone.

Yeah, it lasts a little while.

Because, you know, when you're doing those simulated tests, you only have a

certain time limit to complete the full mission.

That's it?

Just that.

Okie dokie.

If you want, you can take one of these. I'm not going to sell them after today.

They'll probably work up to you. Do you have a fireplace?

Have an outdoor fireplace.

Oh, yeah, perfect. It'll probably work for another 24 hours. I just can't spell

it past 24 hours on the table.

Interesting. Yeah. All right, great.

You've used them before?

No. Oh, yeah, yeah. They're great. I'm going to open one.

They're great?

No, they come... Yeah, see, they're all ready.

There we go.

Yeah, they're pre -lit inside, so you can just toss it in.

Oh, that is awesome. Yeah.

So, it's lit in there. Just be careful.

You okay?

Mm -hmm.

Yeah, don't let him open it.

I'm glad you opened that and let me see what that is. Well, I wanted to show

you. I would have just gone, okay.

Yeah, you want to pull from the left to right.

Left? Yeah, this side.

While it's facing out. Yeah, so the right side.

That's why this is so warm now. Yeah, the whole counter is warm now. This

Yep. Just give it a whoop, a quick rip.

And then get out of the way. Yep.

All right. See you later.

You know how some people are afraid of gnomes?

He's cute.

Looks like the one my grandma used to have.

So sweet.

First, sweetie pie.

Mark's entering.

Mark's entering.

Hello. How you doing?

How are you? I'm doing okay.

There's a hole right here in the shirt.

So you were turning a cost into the hole in it? Yes.

You know what it is sometimes, I think, when they're making them and they're

fringing the bottom. The scissors hit it or something.

Let me take a look here.

Oh, yeah, look at that.

Yeah, I think I can fix this. Okay, good. I don't have another one. Do you

if I fix it? Sure, no problem. I mean, it's right by that patch, huh?

Right.

This is sew -and -sew.

Have you ever used that before?

Never heard of it.

Yeah, you isolate the hole, and you just use a little sew -and -sew right on the

hole, and if you get it, it sprays thread.

OMG.

Oh, shoot.

That's the red.

I just fixed it with red fabric.

Oh, wow.

Yeah, it gets rid of the hole.

Oh, wow, look.

But it's red.

Not going to get away with that. Not at all. It's not going to look good.

Let me get a little yellow spray.

There it goes.

There we go.

Oh, look.

OMG. Yeah.

As long as you get the right color, you know, it's a perfect match.

Wow. Is that going to work out for you? Of course.

Okay, great. It looks great. Oh, good, good, good, good.

OMG, great job.

Yeah. You never used so -and -so before?

I've never heard of it. Oh, great. It uses aerosol with threads inside of it,

it sprays threads.

Wow. Yeah.

I've never done anything like this.

It's great, right?

Wow.

How's it going? Going good. All right. I'm going to pick up a concert for Kathy

Johnson. Oh, you bet. And was that the pink thing?

It was the black with the rhinestones. Oh, black with rhinestones. Okay.

Oh,

I got Kathy. Yeah, Kathy Johnson. Black dress.

Is that right?

It's supposed to be rhinestones.

Oh, like rhinestones. What was it supposed to be? You said it was a heart

heart and, like, red and pink rhinestones.

Oh, my gosh. I'm sorry. Yeah.

I'm sorry about that. That's my fault. I got in late today.

We customized them here for the dance. So we do all our own applications.

Like, I did this. Okay, that's cool. Make me look tough?

I like it. Okay.

But not an iron -on, but individual stones.

Okay, do you have a second?

Yeah, about how long would that take?

I can do it really fast. Yeah, that's fine. Yeah?

All right, great. I have the quick stones that we used to make them.

Different than our iron -ons. And Kathy was for the heart.

You got it.

Talk about a time saver.

Yeah. Take a whole bunch of them here.

You don't even have to get all of them.

All right.

Just got to make sure you throw it right up.

Okay.

Yeah. Wow.

Isn't that nice?

What the hell? Yeah, it's really good.

Wow. Yeah, they just stick right on.

How do you get the shape?

It knows. They're programmed differently in the can.

Oh.

Isn't that great?

That's amazing.

Yeah. And then it just goes on there so we don't have to, like, use the clicker.

Yeah, and it does kind of do an overspray, but people are really into

know? I like to applique ones. Oh.

I got some.

I got some from the... I didn't even see that.

Oh, shoot.

I threw too many on there.

You have to learn how many to throw. Oh, okay.

To get it right.

That was cool. It still looked tough. It still looked tough? Yeah. Really? Yeah.

Maybe just get the pink ones off the shoulder, right? Get the pink ones off

shoulder. Yeah. Good idea.

Can I get you anything?

You're smelling that popcorn, right?

Yeah. Why is he sending me down here?

Oh, because I'm doing the fresh popcorn today.

He wants to get you the good kind. Let's do it. Okay.

Here's your bucket.

And I got your little kernels here.

No. We make our own?

Oh, no. It'll make itself.

I'm going to give you the heat coil to use in the theater.

Okay? And it's microwave.

I hate the new things.

It's not microwave.

Have you not had shadow corn before? I have not. Oh, it's great.

It comes with the little kernels. That's how small them are.

Right. A little bit of kernels in the bottom, and this is the heat coil,

And it's a little sticker, and it goes at the bottom of the bucket.

I'll teach you.

I'll teach you. I can't do it here because it's too bright in here, but

make a cover for it so it'll be in the darkness.

If it gets covered in the darkness, the kernels are activated.

Hold on to that like that.

Yeah, and just push that down. So when it's dark, the lights go out in the

theater.

It'll make it for you.

You'd go sit in there?

And it will pop. What an inconvenience. People are going to be making noise all

over. Well, it's just during the preview.

It's just during the preview. Everybody pops their popcorn. The whole theater

smells delicious.

And this way, you don't end up eating all your popcorn before the movie

Yeah, but what about your butter?

Did it work? That's enough.

I don't think it finished.

You got it.

I don't like this.

You don't? No, this is too new age.

Well, it's the freshest popcorn you can have. Boy, life is moving faster than I

even want it to. Now, sweetie pie, I'm going to go get me butter, all that I

want on here, so we can get nice and big and plump. You got it. All right.

You enjoy that.

May I interest you in a popcorn drink?

Small Diet Coke with a lot of ice. Okay. My machine's been funky.

The lines in this machine get mixed up between the regular and the diet.

So we have to strain them, okay?

Just to make sure that it's actually diet.

Let me get another glass here.

Oh, how do you test it? We have a strainer.

We just strain it to make sure.

Do you know what I mean?

No, I don't. Oh, yeah, yeah.

Because this is a titanium strainer, so it's magnetized.

So when I pour, this way I can make sure I strain anything out.

And this way everybody knows they're getting real diet.

What is it straining out?

The sugar.

How can titanium sugar? Look,

it strains the sugar out of it. It keeps pouring regularly. You're kidding.

That's amazing.

Yeah, it'll strain it out.

Titanium. But titanium will do. There must be something that gets it out.

Yeah, like they...

Put it in like an ultra centrifuge or something, the screen, so that it has

a static electricity charge that grabs the sugar.

That's amazing.

And with your ticket, you know, you get a free meal today.

So we're offering our cinema gourmet menu, if you like. We get a free meal

today. We do? Yeah, so it's like your movie theater experience, but take it to

a... gourmet level. I think I want the apple sausage.

Do you want to do this? Yeah, let's do it. Apple sausage pretzel dog.

The apple sausage pretzel dog, you bet.

We have our cinema gourmet ingredients right here. We make all of them fresh,

made to order.

And it's fast.

We're going to be late for our waiting. No, that's why. It's so quick. It's so,

so quick.

So this is our, this is a dough base.

We use it for most of our foods.

See that?

What is that?

It's a pre, it's It's probiotic, and it's self -rising.

Probiotic sounds good. Probiotic is really good. What time is it? Because

movies start in like five minutes.

Oh, yeah, no. It takes 15 seconds.

This is the actual dog base, the meat base, to make the sausage out of it.

No, it's great. It actually is really good.

Because a lot of people were complaining that foods are processed and they come

from a factory, so we just make them with the processed stuff here.

Oh, so it's still processed?

Well, yeah, but it's processed. And that's it? Yeah, but there's no

preservatives. Oh, that's a good thing. Oh, that's very good. Yep. Is that good?

It's fresh processed. Is it going to come out looking like that? In 15

is all it takes.

I know.

It's going to look like that up there.

Oh, yeah.

In 15 seconds it'll be ready.

Okay, and then I guess I'm going to have to drink. It's very healthy, too.

Diet Coke, too.

All right.

And here we go. Look at that. Two seconds left.

And are we done? Done.

Are you sure?

Yeah. It's quick and fast for the cinema.

Oh, you've got to be kidding me.

I said, what do you call this stuff?

This is cinema gourmet. Oh, I can't believe that. Oh, my gosh. I want one.

want one too? That's amazing.

How'd she change positions?

Oh, my gosh.

That's weird. I'm freaked out now. Oh, my God.

This is a really high -end antique store where we have beautiful antiques, and

in between customers, we play baby toss.

Where's the baby?

How are you doing, man? Did I interrupt you? No, well, I was in the middle of

doodling. Oh, okay.

What's your name? Eric. Eric. Oh, cool, yeah. All right, so what do we got here?

All right, we have an old -school gold watch. Uh -huh. I just surprised you.

Wow. Oh, that's nice.

That's what I thought, too. I don't know if it's real gold, though. You know, it

looks like it could have been old, but someone... Either cleaned it or... Yeah,

cleaned it too much, really.

Yeah, you know what? The crystal there, that looks like it's been replaced.

Oh, okay.

So, you know, a lot of times it's actually better to leave the original

on antique stuff.

You know, people, like, they get antiques and they think, like, you know

should do? Clean it up. Clean it up, make it look great. But, you know, stuff

that has its old vintage look is better.

Like, this chain hasn't been replaced. It's just been polished.

So I'm going to, I'll probably do a little reverse cleaning on it.

You know, we're re -antiquing. I'm going to use a pot of old.

It's good stuff.

So just a little bit of that. Get that on the chain there.

I'll use a little cloth. Have you ever heard of that stuff before? I've never

heard of pot of old.

Yeah. Pretty interesting, though. Yeah.

I'm just going to get a little slab of that right there. And just give it a

little rub.

Wow. Yeah.

See, that looks better.

See that?

Yeah. That's interesting.

So basically, that's how it was before they cleaned it, and you took off the

polish that quick.

It's restoring the patina and the oxidation.

That is awesome. I've never seen that. You've never seen that? You know, over

years of time, it collects all of that rust and scratches, and this glass was

replaced. So what I'll do is I'll put just a big wad of it in there and

hopefully age the face of the watch.

I'm going to put a little bit here, and I'm just going to give it a little...

Rub and look at that.

Just beautiful.

Wow. Yeah.

Oh, that is just beautiful.

Oh, look at that. Wow.

See, it is a break. No, it's restoring it to its original glass before it was

replaced with a new glass. So was there glass over it, though? Well, yeah, there

was a replacement glass.

And you just took that replacement glass off just that quick?

Well, I didn't. I mean, yeah, it reversed.

If they wanted to put the glass back on, what would they have to do? You'd have

to restore it again.

Wow. Right. But you don't want it restored.

You know, you want this.

This is the original glass now.

Wow. With all of its age and oxidation on it. This one would probably be worth

about, like this, $1 ,500.

You'd probably get $2 ,500.

Wow. If you go to the right place. Pretty amazing, right?

Do you want to put that in your little bag there?

Sure.

It's great stuff. Look at this. Because I was doing this drawing here before.

You know, it'll age paper.

As well, because, you know, like when you see something and it's too brand

you know, so I use this antiquing cream here and I'm going to rub it on the

paper and watch what it does.

Wow. Look at her. Her hair turned.

Her hair was brown.

Oh, I wasn't even paying attention.

That's amazing.

It just aids her.

Yeah, I definitely want to wash my hands.

OK.

Yeah.

All right.

That's freaky.

I have a guy coming today who's going to appraise some wedding cake toppers.

These were sculpted by Andrew Ritz, one of the most expressive individual cake

toppers that there ever were.

How do you know so much about all this?

Well, because I learn working here. Oh. Yeah, and his thing was he was hailed as

the guy who could capture, through his sculpture, the expression of the

relationship of the actual couple.

There we go.

I think this is perfect like that.

Why is that?

I don't know, just because it looks better like that. What does it look

It looks like he's just standing there like, I don't know what I'm doing. And

Judy's like, I don't know either.

We better get married.

Maybe that's what their relationship was.

Possibly. He's like, he's like, yeah. Oh

my God.

Okay.

Okay.

Let's just pick these pieces up and put them in here.

I have a guy who can glue this stuff back up.

Maybe take his little leg and put it in here.

Maybe he'll just be interested in just one of them.

How'd she change positions?

Is that weird?

That's weird. I'm freaked out now.

I'm really freaked out now.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

No, I'm not even joking.

I'm weirded out.

But her hands were like this. I know that.

That's weird.

I don't like that. That thing was like that, and now that's weird.

Well, I mean, what about him, though? No, I feel like we need to bury him now.

Not really bury him, but put him in his little home.

That's not a bad idea.

It's weird, but... That's why she's blocking her eyes.

Yeah. Yeah.

Oh, my God.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Oh, my God.

What? Okay.

All right. I'm not. I'm not doing this.

I'm telling you, man.

It's weird.

I don't like it.

Well, at least she's happy now.

I don't care how she is. It's weird. There's, like, ghosts. That's some ghost

stuff, bro.

That's ghostly.

She's happy now that you put them together, though.

You know what I mean?

But he's not put back together.

You know what I mean? Just because you put the pieces.

Dude, he's fixed.

I'm freaking out. I'm freaking out.

It's fixed.

I'm not joking.

It's fixed.

Open it.

I'm freaking out. I swear to God, dude.

It's fixed.

I'm freaking out. Oh, my God. I'm freaking, dude. This is the weirdest

experience I have ever experienced in my entire life.

But this is good.

Dude, I know it's good, but it's weird, dude.

Dude, but now we're not going to get in trouble.

Because it's back.

Oh, I don't care about getting in trouble or anything. That's just weird.

We could position them back.

Dude, that is the weirdest thing.

Between us breaking, her crying, and then it's back to life.

Dude.

Yeah. Well, that's what this guy would do. He used a sculpt using...

A process called the Carbonaro Effect.

Dude, that sounds like booze. Have you heard of that before, the Carbonaro

Effect? No.

Coincidentally, it's also the name of a hidden camera magic TV show,

like the one you're on right now.

Are you, you're joking.

Shut up, dude.

Come here, come here, come here.

No. Get over here. No.

Come here.

No. No.

I am not coming over there.
