Original subtitles

Hi, I bet you didn't recognize me.

I'm Mort Spiceman.

And I'll be working at the spice shop today.

Mmm.

Turmeric root.

Hey, what's up?

How are you? Good.

Oh, yeah.

Just pissed off? Mm -hmm.

Nice. Whole cloves.

Oh, we have a new spice, too, here. Icy spicy, if you're interested.

What is this for? Well, like, so many foods have, like, you know, we add spice

to them to make them hot.

So this is a spice that will actually cool it down.

yeah and it doesn't feel it doesn't even feel cold here i'll show you i'll show

you one of these so it comes with like a little bag and this is the stuff here

you want to hold that yeah that's the icy spicy here i'll try it with my my

lunch so if you want to i got my uh string beans and salmon filet

here i'm gonna dump it on there we'll just try it i've never tried it with

a big whole lunch before

And what is it? Oh,

cool. Cherry pie.

Looks good.

Put it in with it.

Okay.

So, yeah, then the little Icy Spicy, you break it open, the package.

Something you want to be chilled, and if it's room temperature and you want it

to be colder, you sprinkle it in there just like that. And you can see it

quickly start to happen.

Look at that. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Right?

oh yeah it gets cold ices up like that yeah

wow that froze up pretty yeah dude oh my gosh that

is incredible whoa oh that really got it that's way too much

i can't believe that just happened i can't either yeah you're only supposed

use a few crystal that's like solid i wow

Oh, no. Yeah.

That's amazing.

Wow. This stuff is good. Yeah.

Super. But I got it all over the counter. Otherwise, the counter is going

frozen. Right.

Oh, my pinky. I actually feel the coldness of it. Oh, yeah. It's all like.

Oh.

Oh. Oh.

Hold on a second. Yeah. Let me get to think. Guys, just run over warm water.

Yeah, just like maybe like a Ziploc or something. I'm going to have someone put

that. I'm so sorry. Are you okay?

Why did you go to the hospital? I'm going to. I'll ring you up quick.

going to put that in a bag. I apologize. No, I'm so sorry. I hope you're okay.

Yeah, I'm okay. I'm okay. We should put this in ice or something, right? Well,

it's already frozen. Yeah. Oh, my God. Yeah, I'm so clumsy.

No, I'm sorry that happened.

Yeah, I'm sorry, too.

I don't know.

What? Well, let me ring you up. Okay. Because I feel bad. No, that's okay. You

definitely need those. I mean. Yeah.

Do you really need them? Because otherwise I should get to the hospital.

you should get to the hospital. I should go, right? Yeah.

Okay. Yeah. Otherwise, you know what happened? It froze with the Carbonaro

effect, which regenerates.

Do you know what the Carbonaro effect is?

Do you know what the hidden camera magic TV show?

And you're on it right now?

What's your name?

I'm Michael Carbonaro.

I'm a magician.

Yeah, all of this is magic.

Oh, my God. There's no such thing as icy spicy.

I can't believe that happened. So glad you're okay.

So this is like dry corn? Yes, it's dry corn. It's very tasty, though. And it's

good with, it's really good with, have you ever had like a cocktail or

that had a little sander, hover spice?

I think so.

Oh, Hover Spice is really good. It's a spice made for sauces and cocktails.

I'll give you a little sample of it if you want to taste it.

Okay. So I'm just going to use regular water here.

Let you taste a little bit of that without the spice in it so you know how

tastes. Okay.

Okay. And now Hover Spice comes from India, and they found it along the

edge. They were finding by the Ganges that leaves were falling and they

landing in the water. They were kind of hovering above them because of the

evaporation of the water. So you kind of hover the spice over the water. You

don't touch it. Just hover over it. And once it gets a little bit of buoyancy,

the evaporation of the water meets the surface humidity of the leaf and it will

hover right above it.

And you let it sit there.

And it's, you know, a cyclical humidity.

So it's evaporating at the same level that it's touching. So the intensity of

that spice is unlike anything you could get from putting it in a crock pot or

anything with a dry spice. Taste that water now.

Oh, my God.

Very minty, right?

It's an intense sweet mint flavor.

Oh, my God.

Wow. Isn't that wonderful?

Wow. Yeah, and it won't do it, you know, unless it's over water.

Can you reuse the leaves?

Or no? You can reuse them, yeah.

You'll be able to use, I mean, for a drink of water like that, you could use

this hundreds of times.

Oh, my God. Yeah.

But I have some text on the Hubberspice if you want to read about it at home.

Sure. All right, yeah, enjoy that. I'm going to go get that for you. Oh, my

gosh, wow.

Where are the leaflets?

On the hover spine.

Good, right?

We also have this new home garden where you can make your own spices.

And you use these little food bulbs.

And you can let them sit on the sink and they create their own kind of like

little ecosystem inside.

So that it will grow. And it grows quickly, too.

And it's grown in beans, believe it or not. Yeah, you pour about a third of the

jar full of beans.

All right.

And then you drop your little bulbs in there. Now, the last ones they sent over

was doing sage and basil.

Let's see.

They changed the label, so I'm not sure what these are.

But these little bulbs, you know, do like, here, I'll do three.

You put them.

about a third of the way down like that.

Then you fill the rest with beans. And beans actually works better than soil

because it's a lot cleaner, obviously, because it's not dirt, right?

You know, after a little bit of water, it'll start to sprout in about four to

five days.

Or you can use an accelerator lamp like this one here, and you leave the lid

open, okay?

And we'll turn that guy on.

There we go. You aim the accelerator lamp on it like that.

And you let it sit for just a few seconds there.

Usually it kind of knows when it's done, when it stops.

And when it stops, you just go on in there with tongs and just see if you dig

in there and see if you can grab hold of any sprouts.

Oh, you see that little green sprouted right there? Look at that.

Oh, my goodness.

That quickly.

So that might be sage. I'm not sure what... Oh, yeah, look at that. It's a

full... Oh, my gosh. It looks like a carrot.

Oh, this is the root vegetable series.

Oh, my goodness. That fast? That quickly.

It'll grow... How in the world?

Because, you know, when it's packed in soil, it takes longer for the water to

get into the bulb and for the light to get through. But because of the spaces

and the surface area in the beans... Wow.

Yeah. And this is... Let's see.

I almost felt something there. Yeah, I saw something.

Oh, whoa.

That's big.

Yeah, help me there.

Oh, look at that. It's like a bee.

What is it? A bee.

Wow. A red bee.

Oh, look at that. Oh, my God. Wow.

That's quick.

Wow, yeah.

Now, you put one more in there, didn't you?

Oh, I did put one more in there. You're right.

I forgot. Let's see what's in there.

Oh, it feels like another root.

Maybe a potato?

What is that?

Huh.

What in the world?

I don't know. It's like a sausage.

Oh yeah, it is.

It is a kind of sausage, isn't it?

What? Yeah, I think it might be some kind of a vegan sausage.

Huh. Yeah, it smells.

It smells really... Yeah.

That's a... That's a spicy sausage.

Oh my goodness.

Yeah, so it's beets, carrots, and sausages.

Oh, my gosh. Yeah.

I have a little brochure that explains the process. It's really fascinating.

me see if I have an extra one of those.

That is. That's amazing.

All

right.

Time. Oh, three things at a time. You got it. Three things at a time.

Great. Yeah.

I was just doing some tastings over here, too. Oh, you mind if I try one of

those? Yeah, sure. Well, I'm going to salt them first.

Oh, do it. Okay. It's way better with salt. I believe in that. Yeah. We have

own. These are Himalayan salt crystals. They're the strongest kind you can get.

They're really even hard to grind. They don't work in a grinder.

Really? Yeah, yeah.

No, actually.

We just do like.

We do mouth ground. They're mouth ground. Like with your teeth, you

have to use this. Yeah, I was going to say. You got the chops right there, man.

Right to do it. Exactly.

Oh, man, they better be paying you more than whatever they're paying you to do

that.

No, I did not just see that. Oh, my God, right?

Holy crap. It does taste better that way, though.

It's annoying, but... Okay.

You missing a tooth?

I don't know. Salt will do that.

Really? Yeah, because it hits the enamel in your teeth.

We'll kind of... Dude, I just got off of work to go start this second job, and

this is the wildest thing I've seen all day. You've never seen mouth -growing

salt? I've never seen mouth -growing salt. It's the best tasting salt, for

I don't know if you want to try one of those. Yeah, I don't care. All right,

let's go for it.

If you ever go to Nepal, they'll do this right at the table with the restaurant.

The guy comes by with the pepper grinder.

The other guy comes by.

Or the lady.

Really? Yeah.

That's good, right?

That was actually really good. Yeah.

But, like, man, I hope you get some water, man. I'm going to go rinse my

out. Yeah, go for it. Give me a minute.

Yeah, do your thing, man.

Hang on for a second. I'll be right there. Yeah, you earned it.

Oh, my gosh, this is fancy.

Wow.

We have rented the executive suite.

I'm going to deliver some room service to some potential new employees who are

going to be coming in to wait for an interview.

So I'm ready. You want to send them up? Okay.

Room service.

Good. Awesome. Thank you.

And you want to grab me one of those food bags?

Thank you.

All right. Thank you.

Hook this guy up.

The executive suite's one of the best.

What is that?

This is the food service tube.

So we get all of our apps and our lunches, dinner as well, continental

breakfast. It all comes through directly from the kitchen, so we don't have to

cart it around the hall.

Oh, wow.

Yeah. It has a little nozzle on the tip of that right there that that goes

inside of.

I've never seen such an amenity in my life.

You've never heard of that? No. It's a new thing.

Yeah. And then I'm able to pump the food directly from the kitchen through the

tube.

There we go. So it fills that up.

Great.

And this way it fields inside of a bag.

There we go.

Pop that off.

Then we break the seal.

And let's see what they're serving up.

Oh, nachos.

There's no way.

Great. Isn't that wonderful?

You can enjoy those, okay?

Oh, my gosh. I'm still so confused on how that just blows the air. They come

Yeah, every one of the executive suites is run. The food is all run through

here. Wow.

It is so innovative. It's amazing.

There's also jalapenos here.

Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry.

It's okay. It's a lot. Whoa. Yeah. You know what? The tube is so slick.

I think because the jalapenos, they're in oil.

Yeah. So it pumped a lot more into there than it was supposed to. It's a lot.

No, it's okay. No worries.

Yeah. I'm sorry.

Do you like jalapenos? Yeah, of course.

Okay. All right. In 10 minutes, they're going to switch it over in the kitchen

to spaghetti.

Okay. And I'll be back and I'll pump you some of that.

Hey, what's going on? Josh. All right.

How are you?

Who are you?

Famous. What's that? Are you famous?

Famous? You look like somebody that's on TV. Oh, I get that all the time. Who do

they say?

They say I look like Dave Chappelle.

I've heard that before.

Really? No. They say I look like Kelsey Grammer.

Kelsey Grammer.

I really thought.

John Mulaney.

Kelsey Grammar.

What are you thinking?

I don't know his name.

Well, how are you going to Google it? What are you going to Google?

Guys who look like Kelsey Grammar? Not Kelsey Grammar. You don't look nothing

like him. Oh. What was the second guy?

John Mulaney.

John Mulaney?

No, that's not him. That's not him.

You're kidding, right? You must be thinking of... Oh, you know who they say

look like? You're joking with me right now. The Carbonaro guy.

Yeah, that's you, man. Do you know that? That's you.

Dude. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, too.

I'm Michael. I have sticky fingers.

And now I'm going to go find someone who doesn't recognize me.

All right.

Here.

Little chicken finger and fry.

And then a little soup.

Spilled some sauce there. Sorry about that.

Let me, um, I will clean that up with my phone.

Here we go.

I'm going to use the napkin app.

Napkin app? You know the napkin app?

Yeah, we use this in the hotel here.

Just for small spills, it's actually easier to use than getting a bunch of

napkins dirty. Plus, you don't have to worry about recycling.

So I choose between paper towels, microfiber sponge, or napkin. We'll go

napkin. And I'll do it between lightly damp and soak, just medium.

Okay.

And then clean. And it gives you the little thing right there. And see how it

says tap to clean? Yeah.

Tap it.

And... That did not just happen. Yeah. It uses like

the light from the screen to break it down like liquids.

For real. Yeah.

The technology is incredible.

Yeah. I did not know that. You never knew about that? No. Yeah, it's

downloadable. What do we call it again?

Napkin. Napkin. Yeah. I think people need the vacuum app. Yeah. Yeah. Then

have a function here where you can bring it out. There you go.

This way. We don't waste it.

All right. You enjoy that.

All righty, this is Michael. I'm here with Kevin, and I'm going to do a test

this hole.

Yo! What?

Today I'm bringing people in who are going to help me assess this house to

it and resell it, and little do they know...

It's the lair of a crazy person.

Let's see what's in store.

Five, carry the one.

Well, come on in.

Wow. Yeah, they told me that this guy got fired from a university. He was like

an astrophysicist or something, and he worked there forever, and he was doing

research, and they fired him, and then he shut himself into his house and was

doing experiments, and his family said they hadn't talked to him in a long

and now they can't get in touch with him.

Wow. They want to just get rid of the property, so that's why we come in.

Yeah. But I don't know if any of this is still functioning here.

Oh, yeah, look at that.

It's got a charge going to the hole.

Yeah, that doesn't look like damage. No.

Hold on a minute.

Will you press that?

Yeah, that's live. Press that button again, the black button.

Yeah, it's resetting a charge every time.

That's really strange.

He must have been doing some kind of, like, experiment or something where,

you know, he had to... Wait.

Did that just, like... Yeah.

That just fell there and then came out there.

What is it, like, sucking it through?

Dude, that was crazy.

That's so weird.

What is doing that?

Yeah, there's a charge going to that one and to this one.

I'm going to pour some.

Wow.

No, I've never seen anything like that.

What is he doing?

Wow. Yeah, he's like working out some equation or something. I don't know

whether it's a magnetic resonance or... That's like a legit, like, portal.

Yeah.

Straight up.

I'm going to record that. Hold on a minute.

Let me try. That is insane.

All righty, this is Michael. I'm here with Kevin, and I'm going to do a test

this hole.

Let me just see how deep down I can get it.

Yo. What?

Oh, my God.

What the hell?

Dude, can you see yourself?

Yes.

Yes, bro. Look at that.

That is crazy.

Oh, my God.

And that should do it.

Dude, no way.

We have to look at this. This is crazy.

Let's see if we can see.

This is Michael. I'm here with Kevin, and we're going to do a test on this

So there it goes down.

No!

Dude,

that's you right there.

Yes. That's you.

That is insane.

What is it like coming back out? Let's see. Let's see, because I pulled it back

out.

What is going on?

That is... Wait, I'm going to put my... I'm going to shine my flashlight and

just see what I can see up there. All right.

Let me see.

Whoa.

What?

Yeah, it's like... There's like a bit of light showing from up... Hold on, let

me see if... Yeah.

There's like... Yeah, I... Oh!

Hold on, let me see if... Yeah.

There's like... Yeah, I... Oh!

Oh my God, dude.

That's so weird.

Did you just go through?

What the hell?

Dude,

you just popped the hell out of that and you were floating, bro.

I felt it like pull me up as I was walking up the ladder.

Did you freaking see that?

Hold on, let me just shut this off.

That was weird because it pulled my whole like lung. Dude, you just went up.

And then out? And out. Like, at the same time?

Yes. Just like the phone. It just kind of like, one, two, you know? Just like,

you went up and then you came out.

Dude. Like, this is going on out here. Right. Out in the middle. Someone's out.

Yeah. Oh, my God. I've always heard about things like, you know, like

and portals. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Things like the Carbonaro effect.

What's that?

I just thought that was a theory.

Oh. The Carbonaro Effect?

What's that? I don't know. You've never heard of that? Oh, the Carbonaro Effect

is the name of a hidden camera magic TV show.

Dude, you're on TV right now.

Dude, get out of here, dude.

Is the camera right up here? Yeah. Dude, there's a camera hiding right behind

there. No way.

Yeah. Get the hell out of here. Dude, I'm a magician.

No, get out of here. I'm telling you the truth. Did you believe that? I don't

know, dude.

I don't know.
