Wait a minute. You're completely blowing my mind.
This is the Carbonaro Effect.
We should shoot in places like this all the time.
Modern art. Hold for ourselves while we do this.
Aww.
Little kitty cat. So cute.
Oh, my gosh!
It's a family shop.
Well, I'm glad I'm not going to be by myself today.
Yeah, help always helps. Yeah.
They did one of those, you know, sip and paint parties where they get people
together and everybody gets a chance to paint something.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, like paint night. That's right. Was it that one? Okay.
can I grab?
Oh, you know what we're going to do? We're going to help set up the
installation, but before that, let's... Here, have a seat.
I'll give you the fun job.
Okay. Okay, you can do the fun job. All right.
They like to save as much stuff as they can when they do these parties. Okay. So
just get all the paint off the brushes.
Okay. And when the brush has as much paint off of it as possible, just put it
right there.
Okay. Yeah.
Oh, beautiful. Look at you.
Yeah, just once they're pretty clean, you can put them on the towel, and I'll
wash them off in the sink afterwards.
You know, it's fun getting to work at the museum because you see a lot of
new up -and -coming artists. Right.
And they're fantastic.
Yeah, man, I agree.
But for me, I can never quite wrap my head around why one painting is more
than another painting. Yeah.
Sometimes it's not even what the painting is. It's just who the artist is
they have a lot of popularity.
Right. You know, like these works were done by Nathan Fields.
And he's just an up -and -coming guy right now. Like, everybody just goes
over him.
Sometimes the simplest stuff gets the most attention.
Yeah, I'll probably save these markers.
All done with that? I think I am.
Just toss this away. Oh, are you going to toss that?
Should we hang it?
I'm just messing around.
My first paint piece, right? That's lovely, yeah. I think it looks great.
You should sign it, though.
Yes, sign right there.
Okay, do we ask them if we should hang it in the museum?
I appreciate your optimism.
All right, let's open this one up. We're going to put this painting right here.
Okay, great.
So what's the method?
Let's use a little space here. You kind of get in there, nailed shut. They
shipped it from Chicago.
Okay.
Oh, that's not so bad.
Yeah. It's on display there for the last four months.
And you got yours up? Mm -hmm. All right.
Here we go. Okay. We should probably be very careful when we do this here.
Are you kidding? Look at the hat. It's beautiful, isn't it?
But look, look, look at this. Oh, no, I know. Believe me, I know Nathan Fields'
work.
No, I know.
Listen to what I'm saying.
Look at what I did and look at that.
Whoa.
Wait a minute.
You've seen this painting.
I've not seen that painting, man. Come on.
Come on. Right hand of God, if I'm lying, I'm dying.
No.
I'm just doing what you told me to do. I'm drying the brushes out so you can
wash them. And that was the piece. And I thought I was going to throw it in the
trash.
This is a $500 ,000 painting.
That's uncanny.
This is surreal is what it is.
This is great. Yeah, we're going to be turning over this entire gallery.
Wow, okay.
With new sculptures, new paintings are all coming in. Well, just whatever I can
do to help. Excellent. Put me to work. I'm here to help. Okay, here, you can
stand on that side.
Okay. I'll be over here.
Okay.
This is one of those, did you hear about the catacomb sculptures?
No, I didn't. Oh, yeah, this artist, I just remember his name, Baptiste.
He too.
Okay. He made all of these different sculptures from clay that came from the
catacombs. Uh -huh. Okay.
So the clay, you know, in these things has the dust of some of the skeletons
stuff. But all of it is designed with, I guess, these catacomb clay. That's so
cool. Parisian catacomb clay. It's very cold, too. It is. You can touch it to
your cheek. It feels really good. It does.
Yeah.
That's kind of spooky, though, right?
It's cool.
Yeah, me too.
So the little guy goes on the top fan.
Okay. Okay. Can you set that up there very carefully? Okay.
Oh, that's excellent.
Okay. Looks good. And there's a little bit of paper here, too.
Sometimes they have, like, a special thing that they say to do with it.
with extreme caution. Okay, we can do that. Sensitive to direct sunlight and
oils. Okay.
Do not handle with bare hands. Oh.
Do not handle with bare hands. Must wear gloves. Okay.
Oops.
Okay. Oh, yeah, I was feeling dusty.
I was, like, feeling like a sort of... I didn't even see the hand on there.
Whoa.
Was there a hand on there?
That's not my hand, right? I think because your hand touched it, maybe.
Their head up in the air.
Oh, my gosh.
That's the weirdest thing ever.
Oh, Mindy, I don't know. That's like... It looks like my chin. It does look like
you. I didn't want to say anything, but that... I just touched it to my cheek.
That bugs me out.
Yeah, me too. I've never... I don't know what to say. How would that... Like,
I've never heard of a...
I don't know. That is the weirdest thing I've ever seen.
I mean, I don't want to... You don't want to touch it again. Let me get you a
pair of gloves. Okay. Because we should set it up and then... Yeah,
just as is.
Let me get... All right, I'm going to get a pair of gloves. Yeah.
Where do we... Oh, back here probably.
Do I look legit?
All right, I'm ready to be an office person.
I'm going to fire myself.
Fire.
Oh, hello.
Hi, how you doing?
What's your name?
Brandy. Oh, Brandy, I'm Michael. How are you? I'm good. You here for an
interview? Yes. Thank you. You look sharp. Oh, yeah? Yeah. I'm so nervous.
I'm going to show off some of the designs to the big boss.
Oh, wow.
Nice. What type of engineer are you? Can I show you, actually?
Yeah, you can practice. Okay, good. Because I feel like, on one hand, I feel
like I'm presentable, and I know what I'm talking about, but I don't want to
come across like some ding -dong. No, you look pretty sharp. You look like you
got your stuff together.
All of the designs are my own. Oh, wow. Okay, that I did. And I'll show you the
first one here. I know both.
This is sort of like a dream house of mine.
And mine, too. Yeah, but also, you see, I did the interior here because a lot of
times they say it's much better. They know that you're not just slacking, you
know what I mean, by just... Yeah.
You know, you have to be, like, really secure.
How did you change your glasses that quick?
What do you mean?
You just had your glasses.
Should I not wear these glasses? No, I like them. But, I mean, did you just
different ones on? No, this is what I came in for. You're making me nervous
Should I not wear them? No, they're nice. But that's weird. They just change
color. Oh, no, no. The transition lenses just came from outside.
Oh, that's pretty cool. Yeah, they do kind of their own thing.
This is a little weird because I put that X. I made a mistake on it, but I
wanted to show it anyway.
Is that weird if I come in and show a design with a mistake?
No. Because the thing is, I have the mistake on the bottom, too.
Oh. And it's here. You know what I mean? Whoa, wait a minute. So they know that
I'm totally, like, on top of what I'm doing.
And then the other one.
Wait a minute.
I have a stain here, which a coffee shop. Oh, my God. Wait a minute. Do you
what I'm saying?
Wait, you just changed your clothes.
And then should I change?
Is that what you're saying? Should I change my clothes? Wait.
You're making me nervous. Wait, am I going crazy? I just thought I seen.
you ever see one?
Well, I thought this was kind of low -key to show that I'm artistic.
Wait a minute.
I know I woke up with a headache, but am I going crazy? That's why you just had
a suit on.
Well, I thought that I would wear something that was like... Oh, my God, I
I'm going crazy. Really?
Maybe just the way I was talking. Did I sound more sure of myself?
Yeah. Well, no. Yeah.
Yeah, but I just... I remember you walking in.
Right. That's crazy. That can't be... Well, I had... This was probably closed
little. But don't you think, like, a suit might be better?
Well, everybody downstairs was really casual, so I thought, like, I would be
totally, you know, like, I'd look hip and know what I was doing, but not be...
don't want to just come across too stuffy.
No, you're not coming across too stuffy. You know what I mean? Like, I want them
to know that I'm, like, cool and, like, a good person.
Like,
I don't want them to think... Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I know what you
mean, but you look... I mean, you have to...
Wait a minute. You just had a suit on.
No, no. Just my shirt was a little closed. But other than that, I want to
like, friendly and cool and let them know. That can't. Oh, my God. I'm going.
I won't go with a hat today. I don't know what's going on.
Yeah. I'm going to go out and, like, blaze out by the sun for, like, five
minutes. Okay. And then I'll come back up in here all, like, ready to go. Yeah.
Good luck. All right. Cool. I think you'll get it, though. All right. Good.
Oh, yeah. All right. See you.
All right.
Oh, my goodness.
Thank you.
You just had a shirt on.
Maybe I'm going crazy or something about that.
Now, I call to have a courier deliver me an envelope.
Are they arriving?
Okay.
Great.
Come on in.
How you doing, sir? Good. How are you?
Oh.
What is that?
Oh, okay. Cool.
Actually, would you open that up for me? There's just a form inside I have to
fill out. Yeah. Yeah. Cool.
Great.
Sorry to make you do that.
No problem.
Good. Okay. Here, this is the form.
And what are these?
Picture. Picture?
Why are there pictures of me?
These are pictures of you?
Yeah. I have no idea.
Wait a minute. These are you?
Yes, sir.
Oh, I know.
I had actually asked for this last week, and they didn't deliver it.
So I asked to send proof of attempted delivery. So these are probably pictures
of you trying to deliver it last week?
No.
Well, when are these pictures from?
Today.
Like? Now, like, this is when I went and picked up the package from them, and
this is when I pulled it up to you.
This is the package that's in your hand here?
Yes, sir.
This is from when they picked up the package at 4 .30 today.
Wait. Inside this package are pictures of you holding this package?
Right. So these pictures are in there right now in that picture?
That's crazy.
I'm looking at it too, yeah.
This is me in your parking lot. It's right there outside.
That's weird. It's very weird. I promise you. It's not a joke.
Has anybody touched the package?
Not since I left the warehouse, no.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Let me just, I'm just going to ask my boss really fast. Will you give me a
second? Let's find out what's up. And then I'll sign that thing. Hold on.
Easy day, right? Yes.
So easy.
I'm starving.
Oh, bagels.
Oh, thank you.
Um, I don't know where the, uh... Uh, maybe the napkin.
Oh,
that's great.
Soft or hot? They're kind of soft.
I shouldn't be eating so much carbs, you know what I mean? I eat everything.
You eat everything?
Yeah, but I'm glad that I stay in my seat.
Yeah, my wife got me on this thing about, like, less carbs.
How's that working out? It's all right. Like, I'll eat a bagel, but I'll flip
out the whole inside of it. Really? Yeah, because bagels have tons and tons
tons of bread inside of it, so it's, like, way too much. They'll, like,
you down.
And that's the problem with bagels. It's like they're so good, but, like,
there's so much bread.
Wow, that's a lot that was in there. Yeah.
I get down to the doughy parts, you know, just get it all out.
Because it weights me down.
But I've been trying to go on, like, a juice.
That's, like, a big thing to do, a juice cleanse.
And how do you do that?
You can juice, you know, they'll juice beets.
Yes. You know, so, like, if you ever see those.
purple juice or, like, carrot juice.
It's really good. Never tried it. It looks really weird. It's, like,
Like, I would not eat that, you know? Look at this. Yeah. Wow, that's a lot in
there. Yeah, I just... I would have never known.
Known what? That all that was in there. Oh, yeah. Can you see now?
Wow. Yeah, you got to dig. If you get underneath it, you can get the whole
thing. Oh, my God.
Yeah.
That's pretty gross.
Because the bagel's boiled, so, like, all that dough is just... Oh, my God.
that's what my wife's saying, you know?
Get out of here. I know.
And if I get down to the very edge, you can get down.
Yeah. See, the center's gooey. Oh, see.
Here.
Thank you.
Yeah, that's... Very well. We need more.
Yeah. Yeah.
You're not going to eat that, are you? Well, I just want to get the doughy
It's doughier than usual.
And then I take the sesame seeds off of the edges, though.
It's really... Because they're bad for you, too.
The sesame, right? Yeah. Oh, my God, how many?
Yeah. You can squeeze them out.
Yeah.
There we go.
That's pretty good.
I am never eating a bagel again.
Come on. Here you are.
What?
What the hell?
Yeah. I should just come out of the bag.
This lady right here in the red swimsuit, she just came out of a
Can you repeat that?
You said she came out of a suitcase?
Yes, but she doesn't have on a yellow band on her arms.
All right, you know what? That's a safety issue.
Just keep your eye on them. I'll be down there in a couple of minutes.
Okay.
We'll be a lot out of here.
Oh, shoot. She's coming over here. Hold on. I'm just going to put you down over
here.
Right here.
Pretend like everything's normal.
Um, is there a reason that she's in the suitcase?
Well, you tell me.
She's not allowed to be inside of the bag. It's a safety issue.
Do you think people are going to be staring at me? I mean, that's the only
that I'm worried about.
Really? Why would they stare at you? You know, some people can be so judgmental.
Oh, no, it's fine.
So it's okay, because we were just worried.
A lot of people have such a hard time with it.
Yeah, so this is cool of you.
Okay, wait, hold on.
You know, some people can be so...
You can be so judgmental. Oh, no, it's fine.
So it's okay if... Because we were just worried. Let me get her here.
Come on up.
Okay.
Yeah, so this is cool with you? Yeah, it's fine. I know a lot of people have
such a hard time with it.
And she's deflated a bit now, so... Shoot. Okay, well... I'm going to need a
pump.
Maybe I should just get her a chair. If I pull a chair up next to me?
Mm -hmm.
So is it okay if I keep her in the bag?
Yes, you can put her back in the bag.
But I thought you said she had to be out of the bag for a safety issue.
Yes, but I thought she was a human.
That's how I feel about her.
Okay. Yeah.
There's a lot of us like this, you know, we blow them up and we it's just like
having a companion They call that the carbonaro effect.
Have you heard of that before? Yeah, it's also the name of a hidden camera
TV show
This is crazy.
Oh, my God.
