red shoes why do we have fantasies it's because we're afraid if we actually do
what we're thinking about we might not like ourselves in the morning
Or do we have fantasies so we have something to aspire to, like hope?
Or do we have fantasies so we just don't have to put ourselves to the test?
What I meant to say, I'm a storyteller.
You know, one of those kids who made up little stories in her head as a way of
sorting out her emotions.
The truth is, when the going gets tough, I still do it.
I go to another place, pretend I'm somebody else.
Sometimes it works, eases the pain, allows me to
do and say things I could never.
The year's 2010.
Shh.
No stories.
Not tonight.
Let's just look forward to our time together.
Our two hours once a week.
Our precious time together in the forbidden zone.
Easy to remember.
Sketchy.
The year is 2010.
There's fog everywhere.
And peeking through that fog, a glimpse of a fractured city.
Suddenly, the roar of powerful engines pierced the eerie silence.
Three insanely altered monolithic 18 -wheelers
raced down the wrong side of the street, arching into a circle.
They screeched.
Inventing and reinventing the last thing on earth
was sex, dance, music,
and passion.
Gaucho, their leader, appears from one of the trucks.
He looks up and howls at the moon.
Music fills the air.
The
zoners
form a line.
Most of them are young.
Their clothing is slightly futuristic.
Eclectic.
Bear chests.
African ornaments.
Are the zoners form a circle?
You need to surrender.
You need to be taken.
Going back, forth.
One pole to another at a maddening speed.
If you've never screamed out of control, you can't imagine the
feeling.
That's how you made me feel when we first made love.
And I keep coming back thinking.
Let you make Do
you
love me?
And shall I come with the last person you expect to find in the zone?
What happened when he saw Angelica?
The zoners were suspicious.
After all, she could have been a spy sent there by the
Empire to infiltrate.
But Gaucho knew who she was and why she was there from the very first
moment.
Their connection was undeniable.
Apparent to everyone around them.
on the plane was burned.
I shouldn't be here.
I promised myself I wouldn't come back.
I'm not strong enough.
Am I, Gabriel?
I shouldn't have come here.
It's her, isn't it?
Your wife.
She followed you here.
She knows you're here with me.
So do I.
So does Angelica.
But what Angelica didn't understand, really understand, was what
couch... his feelings really were for her.
How his feelings went from the rational to the primal.
To the place where he was willing to sacrifice everything and everyone for
Bullshit.
No.
It's not bullshit.
After Angelica disappeared, Gaucho, once strong, became fragile.
He couldn't eat.
Couldn't sleep.
Couldn't forgive himself for losing her.
And the mood turned dark.
Foreboding.
Only one woman continued to dance.
As she danced, she began to chant over.
And over again.
What is destined cannot be denied. Over and over again.
Their words. Their energy.
Their rhythms. Reaching out.
Caressing me.
Death.
Cannot be known.
And then.
There's no only dream.
There's no like magic.
The fog surrounding Gaucho.
slowly began to part.
Angelica peered out at the fog.
What is destined cannot be denied.
I can't stand not being with you anymore.
I can't stand living the lie.
It's not fair to bet.
Or you.
Or me.
So finally, I told her about us.
She asked if I loved you.
I tried to convince myself I didn't.
How I thought maybe it was just a phase and it would pass.
But how no matter what, I kept coming back to you,
wanting you, needing you.
See red shoes?
My little story worked.
Caught on.
Got inside my head.
Felt what I was feeling.
Sense what I needed.
What we both needed.
A story is a story is a story.
