Mumbai, the most populated city in
India, stretches across the country's

southwestern coast and is a melting pot
for people from all across the region.

Formerly known as Bombay, the city is a
sprawling mix of extreme wealth and

abject poverty.

where over 18 million people come
together to work and play in the

heat.

I would start my journey here and then
head north to the holy city of Varanasi,

just in time for the annual holy
festival celebrations.

Arriving in India for the first time, It
was a huge surprise to be met by crowds

of people outside my hotel.

I had a feeling this would be the first
of many surprises to come.

I was heading to Dharavi, one of
Mumbai's most infamous slums, but

would be an adventure in itself.

I've travelled to many places in the
world, but I can honestly say I've never

seen traffic as crazy as in Mumbai.

It makes James 25 look like a bicycle
leg.

One of the world's largest plums.

Home to over half a million people,
Dharavi is known for its recycling

where hundreds of tons of the city's
waste is regenerated.

I wanted to meet some of the local
residents and see if I could put my own

recycling methods to the test. In this
area, they do a lot of recycling.

Where you take something old and make it
new again.

I want to show you my way of recycling.

The Ravi was not what I expected.

Although the level of poverty is
undeniable, the area has approximately 5

small businesses, from pottery to
textiles to recycling, and an estimated

turnover of half a billion dollars.

If there was ever a community that had
created something out of nothing, this

was it.

As I walked deeper into Dharavi, the
intricate network of streets and

opened up into a big square, which I was
later told is used as a laundry for the

community.

As I took a walk around, I met a group
of girls who lived in the area.

of the fishermen gather for a drink

along the shore.

The next day I headed down to the
thieves market near

Bendy Bazaar in the south of the city.

which is one of the biggest flea markets
in the world and sells everything from

vehicle parts to incense sticks.

The next day,

I learned that a video of me levitating
a buoy in one of Mumbai's fishing

villages had spread across India.

And before I knew it, my journey had
turned into a barrage of press

meetings and public appearances as I
raced back and forth across the city.

It was almost time to head north to
Varanasi, but before I left, I wanted to

one last thing.

Varanasi, the holiest of the seven
sacred cities, sits on the banks of the

Ganges in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

One of the oldest inhabited places on
the planet, Varanasi is home to the

god Shiva the Destroyer, and people
travel from far and wide to be cremated

and have their ashes thrown into the
mighty river.

Although it seems like a peaceful place,
once you venture further into the city,

things get a little more... chaotic.

life after dark, with festival goers.

Holy Festival begins.

As the clock strikes 10am, the city
bursts into life with a huge carnival of

colour.

And Varanasi becomes shrouded under a
multicolored haze. The revelers become

more and more intoxicated under the mid
-morning sun.

As night fell, the festivities continued
along the banks of the Ganges, as

pilgrims paid their respects to the
mighty river.

As I continued my journey, I came across
some sadhus who were meditating on the

small stone outcrop.

What we have seen, what we have seen, in
this paper, there is an

entrepreneur who creates the impossible
in

the world's eyes.

It was my last night in India and I
couldn't believe the things I'd seen

I'd arrived.

From the slums of Dharavi to the madness
of Holi Festival, I'd never forget this

beautiful country or the kindness of its
people who had welcomed me like one of

their own.

It was unbelievable for me. How can you
do that?

As I stared out across the dark water, I
started thinking about how deserted

this place had become.

The previous night had seen the banks of
the river packed with pilgrims as

bonfires raged and thousands of candles
were set free across the river.

But now, only a few people remained.

The bonfires and candles had long since
gone out, and the night was closing in.

Although the festivities had ended, I
spotted a man performing a fire ritual

the banks of the Ganges, the candlelight
dancing in the night sky.

As I looked on, almost hypnotised by the
flames, I realised that in a strange

way we are all responsible for keeping
the light alive, especially in places

that need it the most.

So as the flames started to subside, I
wanted to leave one last memory for the

few remaining people who sat along the
river's edge.
