60 seconds to air, people.

He's the first number on the radio.

David, you look as nervous as a cat in a doghouse. What's wrong?

Miss Manning, we've got less than a minute to air time.

A whole minute?

When you've been producing live television as long as I have, David, you

that 60 seconds is an eternity.

All right.

First positions, everyone.

Here we go.

Ready to go, Stan?

Mm -hmm. No problems on this end. Camera one.

Pan on my mark.

Camera two.

Go wide.

All right, guys. Break a leg.

Ten seconds to air.

Cue camera one.

Cue music.

Cue montage.

Cue animation.

Three seconds.

Cue.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the All -Star Country Music Awards. With your

hosts, Martina McBride, Mark Miller, and Lori Morgan. With Terry Clark, Billy

Ray Cyrus, Linda Davis, Reba McEntire, Eddie Rabbit, Joe Dibby, Billy Dean,

and Mickey McShane.

Are you sure we're supposed to be here?

Yes. Mark said go through the artist's entrance, hang a lap, and he'd be

standing here with Dusty. Where is he? I don't know, but I've had backstage

experience. I'm handling it.

Excuse me, sir.

Billy Ray Cyrus?

Billy Ray Cyrus.

We're deaf of Dusty Wilkins, and I was wondering if you could tell us where he

might be.

Dusty was here just a minute ago.

Hey, kid.

You seen Dusty?

We're back in ten seconds. You mind not whistling?

I'm from Nashville. You want something in Nashville, you whistle.

If magic can strike twice, we might be in for a second installment right now.

Here they are again, putting their talents on another song.

If I could live your life, two of the greatest voices in country music, Reba

McEntire and Linda Davis.

You jet from coast to coast, dressed in

designer clothes.

When you appear somewhere, your chauffeur drives you there.

I wouldn't have to think twice if I could.

Your sister lives next door.

You kiss your babies goodnight. Your husband's there at your side.

I'd love to give it.

Yeah, to you?

It's my fault.

That's okay.

I think that's mine.

I think you're right, yes.

Thank you. Bye.

I think I just danced with Linda Davis.

Yeah, well, we'll be dancing ourselves right out of here if we don't find Mark

and Dusty.

Amanda! Oh, hi.

Hey, you made it. You sure did. I can't help but feel that we're in the way back

here, though.

I'm sorry I couldn't get you seats in the auditorium, but the show's sold out.

Are you kidding? This is so much better than being out front.

Jesse, meet Dusty Wilton. He's talent manager to half the singers here

He's more like three -quarters of them.

So where's Doc Swanson? You haven't seen him?

Well, actually, he's been kind of busy.

Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Is that Eddie Rabbit over there?

That would be him.

Hey, Eddie.

Hey, do you think he'd mind if I asked him for an autograph, Jesse?

What? It's for my mom. There's no harm in asking. All right, I'll catch you

later. All right, well, don't go too far.

Jesse's sort of a country music enthusiast. Well, then he is in

Excuse me. Hey, watch it. On the traffic.

Well, there he is.

Mark, over here. Hey, Doc.

Doc, I guess I wandered off. It is amazing back here.

Jesse, I really appreciate you having us. Oh, it's the least I can do for the

team. It saved my life.

I don't think feeding an ulcer is exactly saving a life.

So how's that stress reduction program working for you?

Well, me, you, and Hitchin Post.

M .O. Bulls, I managed to give gray hair to a bald man.

McShane's the worst.

Mickey McShane, he has a platinum hit playing on all the country stations

days, that Too Lonely to Love You. I understand he's receiving a special

for you? Well, country artist of the decade.

See if he shows up. Why wouldn't he?

Oh, I got a call from him about ten minutes ago, said he wasn't feeling

You ought to catch some shutout in his dressing room and see how it felt.

Maybe I ought to have a look at him.

The boy ain't sick. He's hungover.

I remembered what you told me about holding in my anger, being bad on my

and all.

So I says to him, I says, we got two ways to go here.

One, you can show up on your own.

Two, I'm going to find a rope and bring you in hogtied.

After I said that, I felt that.

That's one way to handle stress.

If y 'all need anything, you just holler for your old friend Dusty, all right?

Thanks.

Are all the people from Nashville like you?

I couldn't tell you.

Dusty's from New Jersey.

Welcome back.

Tonight we're honored to have with us a very special guest.

Eddie!

Excuse me, you didn't happen to see any rabbits come running through here, did

you? Haven't seen them, sorry.

You okay?

I'm a little nervous.

Are you in the show?

I'm supposed to present an award.

Really? Country artist of the decade.

I thought that I was up on my country singers.

Oh, I'm a songwriter.

I don't perform.

The idea of facing all those people... Why do it?

My mom's idea.

She's producing the show and...

She thought me presenting an award would be good exposure for my career.

Ah, relax.

You'll be fine.

Just worried I'll make a total fool of myself.

I know. It's the worst that could happen.

Thank you.

I haven't had much to walk about for a while now.

Oh, well. Next time you need someone to make an idiot of himself, ask for me.

I'm Jesse Travis.

Laura Manning.

Nice to meet you. Right here.

You looking for me, Mom?

I just want to make sure that you're okay, honey.

I am now.

Mom, this is Jesse Travis.

Hi, nice to meet you. Yeah.

So where's McShane?

Isn't he here?

Billy, is McShane in makeup?

No. He goes on in one minute.

What? He's not in here. He isn't?

No. Has anyone seen Mickey McShane?

I wouldn't worry.

I mean, the guy's not going to miss getting an award.

You don't know Mickey.

I've written songs with him, and he started drinking.

McShane's not here. I want you to go find Dusty Wilton, and the two of you

his dressing room.

You may have to go on without him.

May I have your autograph? I'm a big fan.

Sure.

Thanks. I thought Jesse was a country fan.

And he is, and this is for him.

Shall I make this out to Amanda or Mandy?

Amanda's great.

You know, I know a beautiful lady from Charlotte named Amanda.

Great.

There you go.

Thank you, Mr. Dean. You're welcome. Hey, Mr. Dean's my dad's name. You can

me Billy.

McShane never showed up.

Maybe he is sick.

Do you mind?

Let's go.

Love your sausages.

You can do this.

You'll announce the award.

You'll say to me, Shane wishes he could be here, but he can't. And so, on his

behalf, et cetera, et cetera, you'll do fine.

Oh, God.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, there's going to be a reward for Clint Eastwood.

Do it classily. Okay.

Make her look good, Stan.

Camera three.

Mickey McShane can't be here with us tonight, but I'm sure if he was, he'd

y 'all what an honor it is to receive this award.

Miss McShane!

Mick, if you're drunk, I'm gonna have your hide for a doormat.

Mickey!

Mick!

Dusty. So, on his behalf, thank you for making this such a special night.

And as Mickey himself would say, y 'all's good people. God bless.

Is this Mickey McShane?

Yeah, that's him, all right.

Do you see it?

You better call the police.

He's been murdered.

The security guard said McShane brought a groupie back to Australia about an

hour before the show.

Did he give you a description?

I'm pretty sure she's still around here someplace.

He noticed her backstage a few minutes before you guys found the body.

You weren't a cowboy yet.

He thought it was McShane.

Oh, yeah, the white Stetson with the red feather and the snakeskin band.

A little bit country.

Well, maybe you can help the guard find her.

Yeah, sure.

That'll do it.

What do you got, Amanda?

Well, it's just a quick prelim. I'd say trauma to the side of the head.

Somebody probably whacked him with the lamp.

Any idea how long he's been dead?

The body's still warm. The mortise hasn't set in yet. I'd say less than an

ago he was killed.

4 .49, probably.

That lamp was ripped out of the wall so hard it broke the cord. It's probably

what set off the circuit breaker.

How does that tell you?

A copy maker, huh?

Flashing 449.

Mm -hmm. So it's a pretty good bet that that's when McShane was killed.

Well, we'll print the whole place, but the lamp's been wiped. I doubt we'll get

anything useful.

These trailer dressing rooms are just like hotel rooms.

Any prints we find could be weak, so... Oh, here's something.

What? Blonde hair.

McShane's hair is brown.

Yeah, there's at least three or four more on the shirt there.

Male or female?

Well, I won't be able to tell that until I get it out of the microscope.

See you guys later.

Now, there's an odd thing for a person to carry in their luggage.

Who would travel with filters for a portable air purifier?

Somebody that smokes cigars like these.

Whoa. If you had cancer, the smell alone could kill you.

You gonna let the show go on?

Yeah, if there's a chance the killer's still here, I want to catch him.

Well, as the show's on, security's pretty tight.

Give me about an hour to find out who murdered McShane and make an arrest.

This is a one -award show. We hope the thank yous go long.

See you. Yeah.

Where could I find Betty Manning?

Backstage. Thank you. Follow me. I'll show you where she is.

Right over there with you, Silas.

Thank you.

Don't be such a stranger next time you're in Nashville.

I'll take care of you.

Harvey,

have you seen a doctor?

Excuse me?

I'm Dr. Mark Sloan, medical consultant for the police department.

I noticed when Billy Ray hugged you then. You were in pain.

It's an old war wound.

I fell off a lighting catwalk a few years ago, and I've been having aches

since.

Is that what you want to talk to me about, Dr. Sloan? My bad back?

No, actually, I'm here about Mickey and McShane's murder. Did you know him?

I've been producing shows and records in Nashville for half my life.

I probably know everybody there is in country music.

Do you know if he had any enemies?

Anybody that drank and catted around like he did, I don't care how good they

sang or how many records they sell, in the end, they're not going to have that

many friends.

You knew anybody who might want to kill him?

Well, anybody who knew him probably wanted to kill him.

Listen, I'm sorry I don't have more time, Dr. Sloan, but I'm in the middle

producing a live TV show. I know you'll understand.

Next on the All -Star Country Music Award, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mark Miller, and

I'm Terry Clark.

Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with the All -Star Country Music Award.

Just one more quick question.

I noticed that your dressing room and McShane's are in the same trailer.

That's right.

Well, he was murdered about 10 of 5.

Did you hear anything or see anybody leave then?

At 10 of 5, I was on stage watching my people shooting live promos for this

show.

Well, how about earlier? Maybe you saw somebody go in or out.

I'm sorry, Doctor. I haven't been near my dressing room all day. I'm just too

busy. I really have to stay focused here. Sure, I'm sorry.

Doesn't that camera ever move?

Um, it's locked down. We just use it for cutaway shots, fade -outs, and promos.

Coming back from station break, live in five, four... I really have to get back

to work. In

the

past few years, more and more female artists have sold gold and platinum

than ever before in country music.

It's becoming very difficult to rise above the pack.

But each year, you pick your favorite.

Here are some of your choices for that honor this year. Ladies and gentlemen,

Terry Clark.

I don't care about the damn award.

All I'm saying is with Mick gone, you should keep it. It's half yours.

Half mine?

Half of nothing, okay? You don't understand. It's over. There's nothing

understand.

You told her about McShane?

Well, maybe I should have waited for the police to give me the okay.

But she and Nick were partners.

I thought they just wrote a few songs together.

She wrote all the songs.

Even the ones with his name on them. She wrote them, he sang them.

That was the deal.

With him gone, she figures her songwriting career is over.

That's why she was crying?

How close were they?

Nick never got close with a female.

Except in one way, and Laura ain't that kind of woman.

What kind of woman is she?

She's the kind she wrote about.

One love woman waiting on the right man to find her.

I can't be absolutely sure until we get all the test results back from the

police lab, but I'm fairly certain that all of the hairs we found on McShane's

shirt came from the same person.

Someone blonde and female.

Now, how do you know that these didn't come from two different blondes? Because

the hair shafts all have the same odd twisty shape.

It's a rare hereditary defective development in which the hair shaft is

flattened and twisted against its own axis.

It's called pili torti.

Well, a couple of these hairs are awfully thin and brittle looking.

Yeah, a lot of dryness, lack of elasticity. I'd say it comes from

old. Well, so you think someone's grandmother might have killed McShane.

Forensics finished fingerprinting McShane's dressing room. Take a look.

Betty Manning's fingerprints are all over Mickey McShane's dressing room. Has

Mark seen them? He's talking to her about it right now.

You know the rooms I've been in today?

Every time somebody has a problem, I have to go hold their hand.

If you really looked, I'm sure that you'd find my fingerprints all over half

trailers in the parking lot.

Not just Mickey McShane's.

Well, maybe not mine.

It's my first time here today.

Mind if I ask you what kind of a pill that is?

I'm a Trix. I get migraines.

How did they identify my fingerprints so fast anyway?

Oh, the FBI took your fingerprints for security reasons when you produced a

Kennedy Center honors show at the White House three years ago.

Didn't you tell me that you hadn't seen McShane today?

I told you that I didn't see him at ten to five. I didn't tell you that I hadn't

seen him all day.

Are you trying to catch me in a lie, Doctor?

No, no, not at all. I'm just trying to figure out what happened.

What did Machine talk about?

Well, he wanted to perform a song at his awards presentation instead of the

standard acceptance speech. And I told him that that just wouldn't be possible.

The entire conversation took less than five minutes. I was in a hurry.

Just like now.

You got an answer for everything.

Look, check the hairs on this brush against the one on McShane's shirt, will

you? Do you think Betty Manning killed him? I don't know, but I know one thing

for sure.

Mickey McShane was killed in Betty Manning's dressing room.

Mickey McShane was murdered in my dressing room, Dr. Sloan? Yes, I do.

I don't think that's possible.

Betty Barton Manning, where in the world have you been hiding yourself? I

haven't seen you around here all day.

Well, listen, Joe Diffie, this may be a party for you all, but some of us are

busy putting on a show.

I heard about Mickey.

It's a terrible thing.

Yes, it is.

I'll talk to you more later, okay? Okay.

I've got to get myself some autographs before I go home.

McShane couldn't have been murdered in my trailer. This place is Grand Central

Station.

And how could the killer get McShane's body from one room to another without

being seen?

And what about all the blood?

You know, I never said that McShane's body had been moved.

But if he was killing my dressing room, how did he get from my room into his?

He didn't.

The bodies weren't switched. The rooms were.

The dressing rooms in these split trailers are all identical.

The only difference is the name on the door.

So all the killer had to do to make it look like McShane had been killed in his

own dressing room would have been to switch these door tags and move the

luggage. How did you know?

McShane was carrying filters to a portable air freshener in his luggage,

freshener wasn't in his room.

It was in yours.

Miss Manning.

Stan needs you back in the control booth. I'll be right there.

So if McShane was killed in my trailer, does that make me a suspect?

Well, I suppose at this point, almost everybody's a suspect.

But then you wouldn't have any motive, would you?

Well, heavens no.

Have you told the police your theory?

Not yet.

I'd think twice about it before you do.

You wouldn't want to make a mistake and then look foolish.

Well, it's happened a few nights before. I've always survived that.

He headlined sold -out concerts at his own network TV specials and still had

time to write some pretty good country songs. That's right. And through it all,

he hadn't changed a bit.

Ladies and gentlemen, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Perfect game in here. No, but she's not in the parking line. None of the

security guards said that they saw her leave through any of the exits.

Well, I want to know if Mike is running from us.

Hey, hey, hey, hey. There she is.

Hold it.

Lease.

You kept a flower bed, put one dirt back.

You ride a steel horse racing toward the rainbows in while your seas and your

rivers run black.

He said, look what you've done to your native son.

Baby, look what you did to her son.

You kept a fire and a glory in your company at first, but you're probably

to make me cry.

He said, it's all over now.

The moon and it's just a kid over.

I was cheating on me, but I never did not.

That's what my daddy said.

Let's just start over.

See, I say police, and you say yes, officer. How may I help you? The hat,

it? Come, Mickey, I'm sorry I took it. I'll put it back.

Please, don't put me in jail.

We can't tell McShane anything.

The guy is dead.

Oh, my God, Kim.

You and McShane were close?

Close? Oh, yeah.

Very close.

He's really dead.

Because he looked so good when I left him.

Even if he was a little... Drunk?

Mickey didn't get drunk. He just liked a few beers now and then is all.

What was it that killed him?

Heart attack.

He was murdered.

to do with this, do you?

When exactly is the last time you saw him?

About a half hour before the show.

Where was that?

In his dressing room.

We had just done it.

You and McShane were lovers?

We were in love.

That's why I took the hat as a token of our true love.

Mickey said I was special. I wasn't like all the others.

What others?

The other girls that he slept with.

You knew that he slept with other women?

And you were okay with that?

Mickey was a whole lot of man.

More than one woman could ever satisfy.

Some of the other girls had a hard time understanding that, especially that

Laura person, but none of them were special to Mickey the way I was.

Which Laura person?

Do you mean Laura Manning?

I saw her go into his trailer as I was leaving.

She saw me, too.

Boy, was she mad.

Oh, you mean that Laura Manning and Mickey McShane were lovers, too?

You haven't been listening.

Mickey and the Laura person had sex.

Mickey and me were in love.

I'm sorry, miss, but one of my men is going to have to take you downtown for

some further questioning.

Oh, okay.

Would it be okay if I kept the hat?

It's a match.

Well... Not exactly.

These fragile hairs in Betty Manning's brush only match one of the hairs we

found on McShane's body. It doesn't match any of the rest of them, so the

of them belong to somebody else.

Could that someone else be Laura Manning?

Laura was more than McShane's songwriting partner.

According to McShane's fateful groupie, Laura had been sleeping with him for

months. This guy wasn't particularly fateful.

It was too much man for one woman to satisfy.

Excuse me?

Don't ask.

Laura was seen on her way to McShane's trailer shortly before he was killed.

Apparently, she wasn't too happy with Mickey's share -of -the -wealth

of true love.

Maybe she was jealous enough to kill him.

You're right, because the other hairs could belong to Laura Manning. Billy

Tordy's in inherited condition.

It's time you and I had a talk with Laura Manning.

Are you just going to keep adding as the evening goes, or what?

Well, I thought they were just shooting from the waist up.

They're not.

Thank you

We're

running long should we trim one of the musical numbers coming up or do you want

me to you decide

Ms. Manning, is it true that you and Mickey McShane were lovers?

More than lovers.

We were engaged.

For how long?

A few years.

Almost from the day I started writing songs with him.

But nobody knew.

Not even my mother.

Whose idea was that?

It was Mickey's.

Why?

Uh, same reason he didn't want people knowing I wrote all his songs.

Being engaged, never mind getting married, wouldn't be good for his loner

Mickey was a rebel, spirit roaming free.

Or so he said.

Did you know he was seeing other women?

I figured it out.

Eventually. When you saw Groupie leaving his trailer an hour before he was to

receive an award as Artist of the Decade for songs you wrote, that must have

made you very angry.

You wrote his songs, your songs built his career, you were in love with him,

he repays you with a betrayal.

That's a pretty strong motive for murder.

No use trying to hide the truth, Laura.

No use trying to hide the truth about what?

Well, you must have worked it out by now.

Laura didn't kill Mickey McShane.

I did.

Let's make it official.

For the record, do you understand your rights as I've read them to you?

Yes. Then you're willing to waive an attorney and give a full statement of

own free will?

I already told you, yes.

Please state your full name.

Beatrice Barton Manning. Miss Manning, would you tell me in your own words the

nature of your relationship with the deceased, Mickey McShane?

We were lovers.

And how long were you in this relationship?

For a few months.

I produced a TV special for him here in L .A., and we spent some nights working

together, and one thing led to another.

Did your daughter know about you and McShane? No.

Heavens no.

Were you aware that McShane was involved romantically with your daughter?

Well, not until she told me so this afternoon.

Laura saw some groupie leaving Mickey's dressing room, and she realized he'd

been cheating on her.

and she came to me all broken up, and she told me what he'd done, and she told

me they were engaged. And when I realized that man had seduced me while

engaged to my own daughter... You killed him.

I told him we had to talk.

He came to my dressing room, and before I could even start, he was kissing me,

had his hands on me, the hands he'd touched my daughter with.

So I picked up the lamp and I hit him.

And after you killed him? I switched our luggage around.

I changed the names on our doors so nobody would know that he died in my

dressing room.

Somebody should have put that bastard down a long time ago.

I sure wouldn't want to be Laura Manning. Oh, yeah.

Finding out that your mother killed...

Your lover, because they were lovers, too.

You know what the worst part of it is? Mm -hmm. Sounds just like a country

song. You must not think you're bothering me. What do you mean? What

you? Well, the whole... She just confessed to the whole thing. No

Miss Manning, I thought maybe you could use some of your belongings from your

dressing room. Thank you.

Oh, I'm sorry.

You're not allowed to take anything with you anyway. My dad should have known

that. My mistake. Sorry.

Thanks anyway, Doctor.

Mark, what is going on?

Hey.

Is this a lot like the lamp that was used to kill Mickey McShane? Yes, it is.

And that's why I know that Miss Manning is a liar and not a murderess.

And that's a wrap.

Good show, everybody. Thank you.

Thank you.

What was it you wanted to see? Oh, thanks.

Betty Manning told me she was supervising some promotional tapes,

five this afternoon before the show started.

Do you keep copies of those tapes?

We record everything we shoot. Would you like to take a look? Yeah, please.

Hi, this is Eddie Rabbit.

And I'm Terry Clark.

And we're here in Los Angeles hoping you'll all stay tuned to the All -Star

Country Music Awards.

Coming up next on CBS.

Now that lockdown camera, the one that has the view of the awards logo, that's

on all the time, isn't it? That's right. We use it for cutaways, transitions

between songs, commercial breaks, that kind of thing.

Do you have a tape showing what happened before and after that promo?

Sure. Can I see that?

Uh -huh.

Could we just speed it up, please, just to after the spot?

Yeah, there. Now slow it down.

What's the sound?

We don't leave the mic open unless we're broadcasting.

Why? Is that a problem?

You know, maybe not.

Could I have a copy of this tape?

Sure. I'll run one off for you.

What are you doing?

Dr. Slant said he wanted to see me.

Actually, I wanted to see the both of you together.

What's this about?

This is about preventing the two of you from doing something you'll regret the

rest of your lives.

You couldn't possibly have killed McShane.

I already told the police.

Earlier, when I gave you this bag, it was too heavy for you to hold.

And it was because of this.

This lamp is an exact duplicate of the one that killed McShane.

And it was too heavy.

You couldn't even lift it.

Don't do this, Dr. Sloan. You couldn't have swung that hard enough to kill a

man. That's not true.

You walk stiffly when you think no one can see you.

And you're constantly rubbing your wrists and your joints.

And there's the way you winced when Billy Ray gave you a hug.

You're in constant pain, aren't you?

So, it was a hard day. I'm a little tired.

You're tired because you're dying.

Pairs from your brush match the hair that we found on McShane's corpse.

Because I killed him.

No, that just proves that you touched the body, that's all.

But that hair and the ones from your brush were exceptionally fragile.

Almost like hair from an elderly woman.

Or somebody undergoing chemotherapy.

When I visited you in your room, you took a pill from this bottle.

It's decadrin.

The steroid used in certain cancer treatments.

All this was enough to make me call your physician.

I think you know what he told me.

He tell you how much time I have left?

Less than six months.

And because of all that, you think that I confessed to a murder I didn't commit?

Why? So that I could spend my last six months locked in prison?

No. So you could save someone you love.

Laura, do you want your mother to die behind bars for a crime you committed?

He can't prove you had anything to do with this.

You're wrong.

Dad, would you come in now? Thank you.

Go ahead.

Now, this section was taped at about ten minutes to five.

That's just moments after McShane was murdered.

You mean before he was murdered. This is where Laura told me that they were

engaged. That's why I killed him.

There's no sound. You can't prove otherwise.

Jan, would you rewind that and run it again, please?

This is Jan Curran. She's an instructor at the California School for the Hearing

Impaired. She's 90 % deaf, but an expert at lip reading.

I had a fight with Mickey.

He was sleeping with some slut.

I told him it was over.

I wouldn't let him use me anymore.

He was drunk.

Oh, my God.

What happened?

Did he hit you?

No.

He followed me into your dressing room.

There was a lamp.

I hit him.

I think he's really hurt.

I'll take care of this.

Don't say anything to anyone.

an affair would be a shame.

That was a lie to give you a motive for murder.

Laura was the one he betrayed, not you.

I didn't know he was dead.

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

The man was dirt.

He deserved to die.

I'd have killed him myself for what he did to her.

But you didn't. She did.

You can't pay for her crime.

Why not?

What's my life worth now?

Father, wouldn't you do this for your son?

Wouldn't any parent?

She's my baby.

This is all I have left to give her.

You remember when I was ten years old and I broke Grandpa's ship in a bottle?

Well, I haven't thought about that in years.

I came running to you and I had all this broken glass and wood and I said, Dad,

please, please don't tell Grandpa I did this.

Remember what you said?

I said, I don't have to tell Grandpa because you will tell him.

Looked like I'd stabbed you in the heart with a...

Knife. Felt bad about that for months.

So did I.

But you were right.

Then and now.

Yeah, big difference between a broken ship and a bottle and a murder.

Yeah, there's a big difference between a 12 -year -old and a 25 -year -old.

A parent can only protect their child for so long.

I'm so right.

Why do I feel so bad?

A wise man once said, what's right isn't always what's easy.

Now Judd Hirsch and Bob Newhart talk about their new comedy, George and Leo.

I have a great expectancy about this show. I mean, I never had this feeling

before. There's electricity that you could tell this was going to work.

Where is your erotica section?

I don't have one. I know you don't. I'm at the bookstore.

George and Leo, coming to CBS.
