people call me Dynamo.

It always amazes me how things can change in an instant.

As my feet touched the cold water of the Thames last summer, I never could have

dreamt what would happen next.

With fans including Jay -Z, Robbie Williams, and Will Smith, he's fast

the most talked about magician in the world.

I was in London's West End. I wanted to try something with some of the people I

But it's the people who live here that make the city's heart beat.

When I'm in town, I always drop in on my Nana and Grandpa to see how they're

doing.

It's always nice to make a surprise visit when I'm in town, and it's my

second home.

My life has changed so much over the

past few years, but it's good to know that my friends are along for the ride.

Despite crashing my car in Austria, Jalera somehow managed to blag his way

becoming my driver.

And whenever I come home, I always catch up with my two oldest mates, Marcus and

Johnny. It's that long ago, I don't remember when I first, first met him. In

fact, you know what I do? We were hanging out, just skateboarding, just

fun, you know what I mean? And obviously he turned up, lived on a stayover at

Rhodes.

On this particular evening, we were on our way to a nightclub on the outskirts

of Bradford. What is this by?

My friend from London, Mr. Towns.

He's come up and he's DJing there.

I don't really know what it is, but, you know. You got us some VIP tickets?

When we were younger, it was always tough getting into places.

The bouncers would always hassle us and I used to perform just to get us through

the door.

Now, things are different.

The problem with nightclubs nowadays isn't for getting in, it's for getting

I was just on a night out, and all of a sudden, we saw Dynamo on the stage. I

just knew the DJ and we were getting on with him. I was like, Stephen, what are

He's got this kind of magnetism to him.

Literally, in seconds, he was closed.

I travel so much nowadays, it seems like my feet hardly touch the ground.

I watch as the world flashes before my eyes.

Sometimes, It all feels like a dream.

I often fall asleep and when I wake up, the whole world around me has changed.

Sometimes, I wonder how I ended up here, at a pool party in the middle of the

desert with all these people.

It all seems like a blur.

But before I know it, I'm back on a flight to the next destination.

I had arrived in the historic city of Venice for the start of the World Poker

Tour.

Venice is one of the most beautiful cities on Earth.

It feels like you've stepped back in time.

Sometimes it's nice to get out of the madness of London and visit somewhere

that's a little more... green.

The World Poker Tour was taking place at the Casino di Venezia, the oldest

casino on the planet.

It's crazy to think people were visiting this place in the 1600s.

As the tournament got underway, you could feel the electricity and tension

I had the world at my feet, I was living the dream, and it seemed like nothing

could stop me.

But suddenly everything changed, and my life was turned upside down.

My grandpa, who had raised me and given me the belief to follow my dreams,

became extremely sick overnight and was given days to live by the doctors.

As soon as he found out he was up north, at his side, I didn't hesitate to get

back up.

I just came home and just spent time with him, to be honest, just to say

goodbye.

Ken brought him up from quite a young age, taught him everything he knew.

He got him into magic.

He even taught him how to swim, ride a bike, everything, you know what I mean?

He liked life himself a lot. Always smiling, always laughing, joking,

On Wednesday 29th February 2012, my grandpa, Kenneth Walsh, passed away.

You can tell when you speak to him, he's a bit more subdued and a bit more

thoughtful.

It's a brave face, I think. I think it's affecting him more than he likes to

admit.

It's been hard to know that someone that he's cared about so much is gone and

he's got to fill that void.

It's just trying to help him, really.

I think Canada wanted him to have a bit of a cry.

Get over it sooner rather than later. Don't drag it out and then obviously get

back to what he's doing because it's all thanks to him why he's doing it.

After my grandpa passed, I locked myself away in Bradford for weeks.

I didn't want to see anybody or hear from anyone.

It was like the magic had died with him.

It was a long time before I performed any magic again, but slowly I started to

venture out and let the cameras back into my life.

There are still parts of Bradford where I'm not recognised and people don't know

my name.

It allowed me to get back to the roots of my magic.

A month later, I finally headed back down to London, where Labyrinth had

me to his acoustic show at London's biggest music store, HMB.

For some reason, being back in London didn't feel right.
