[woman over PA] Welcome to Collingwood Institute.
Together, we can capture what's on the other side,
as we journey into the blink.
-[bell ringing] -Aah!
[panting]
I hope I'm not too late.
It's quite all right, my dear.
Don't worry.
I'll begin.
Blinking, scientifically known as a nictitate.
What purpose does it serve,
other than to protect and moisturize the eye?
A behavior so seemingly insignificant
that we barely even notice it,
and yet it plays a key role in all of our perception
of time and reality,
and in fact, our entire cognitive function.
We average ten blinks per minute.
Each blink lasting approximately 0.3 seconds,
totaling out to three minutes per hour.
That is 48 minutes in a 12-hour day
that you spend in complete darkness.
Now, for all those of you staring intently
at the back of your eyelids,
I can assure you that it is much more complex than that.
This effect occurs spontaneously.
It is not under your conscious control,
and it's hardwired into you, much like your heartbeat.
Now, recent studies show that the brain accesses data
in up to 11 different dimensions,
the strongest multidimensional connection occurring
when your eyes close to blink.
When your eyes close,
the brain resets, and stitches together images
missing before and after the gap,
creating a seamless vision.
This is, however, false.
The question is, what are we not seeing?
What else is there out there?
Now, here at the Collingwood Institute,
we are currently studying neural functionality
during the blinking process, and we are attempting to map
the interdimensional connections into something
that we call the in-between of the dark sector.
Now, if any of you are like me,
and you're wondering what you're missing,
we're about to find out.

in which you will be able to wear...
