Hey, I'm Web.
And they don't call me that because I'm Internet-smart or a tangled mess.
It's because my mom's a hippie.
These are my friends. We grew up in Montauk.
If you ever get tired of the bright lights, the big city,
and endless possibilities, then just drive east
until you reach the end of the world, that's Montauk.
I mean, check out this lighthouse, not something special.
My brother once base jumped off it and broke both his legs.
But it's kind of a different story.
So, look, we have lobster rolls, world-class surfing
to work off the lobster rolls,
secluded permit-parking-only beaches.
Families so old they think
the Rockefellers are nouveau riche and pirate's booty.
This is Marcus, my idiot brother.
He had a lot of potential as a kid,
but decided to go another way.
Here's my best friend, Daphne.
We actually just started talking again
after she ditched me for the popular girls in ninth grade.
This is JR.
When we were six, we were gonna get married.
These days, he's in love with Daphne.
Maybe one day he'll actually let her know.
JR's always kind of had his head in the clouds.
He daydreams a lot.
Here's the thing about Montauk.
Turns out, people like coming to the end of the earth,
especially when it's only two hours away.
But you can't expect these people to get away from it all
and actually be away from it all.
So, they just moved their party up here.
Which means trendy coffee shops, artisanal ice cream,
designer labels, expensive hotels, high rents, McMansions,
foreclosed McMansions.
But, hey, at least we got that cool lighthouse.
And Captain Kidd's treasure is buried out here somewhere.
Not joking.
This is Daphne's bar.
JR is about to do something really stupid to help save it.
And we're about to go with him.
I mean, it's not like we had anything better to do that day.
Beautiful people have taken over.
JR, I got a nasty hangover right now,
and I'm feeling pretty fragile, so shut up.
Lockers are being broken into over at the country club.
You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?
No, sir.
So, yeah, I'm Web,
and my friends and I still live out here at the end of the world.
We're just trying to not fall off.
More coffee?
Sure.
- Are you done? - Uh, yeah.
- Okay. - Thanks.
- Yeah. - Another round, please?
It's early for that, don't you think, Marcus?
It's not even noon.
Well, technically, I started at 8:00 p.m., so...
- Mom thinks you have the curse. - Curse? What curse?
You know, the Irish one.
Mom and Dad are deadbeats.
You really need to stop saying that. They gave you life.
It's soon to be up for sale.
You just need to go home. Sleep this off.
How am I to sleep this off when everything around us
is getting turned into a smoothie bar?
You are so unpleasant.
I'd punch you in the nose,
- but I won't 'cause I don't want... - Can you?
- ...to get in trouble. - Stop.
We clearly need to support your brother right now,
because he's going through distress.
He's not going through distress, he's an asshole.
All right, Marcus,
you need to reframe the situation.
Excuse me, how am I supposed to reframe this?
The entire East End is getting a facelift
and the clam bar, the bowling alley.
Guess what? Next up is our own Duffy's fishery. What then?
Who's gonna hire me?
Can you imagine me working at a Pilates studio?
God damn it. I have no real world skills.
Being an adult sucks.
It's okay. I'll go to college and get a well-paying job.
And then, I can buy you a futon.
- Yeah? - Yeah.
How you doing, Daphne?
You're looking beautiful.
Great spot around here, man. Lot of good people.
Who was that guy?
Oh, uh... Will.
Seems like a douche.
So...
Um, I was just wondering...
Just wondering,
if you ever got hungry sometime,
if you'd want to get some food?
With me.
I don't have much of an appetite right now.
I meant at some point.
Really slick, JR.
And on the topic of doomed romantic relationships,
let's check in with how my brother's doing with women.
You lowlife piece of garbage!
What are you talking about, psycho?
I'll beat you to death right now,
I swear, if you don't come out with it!
I'm sure there's some explanation for whatever it is.
Oh, I'm dying to hear it.
Uh...
Uh...
- Something wrong? - No.
If there is, I-I could help.
You wanna help?
How much cash do you have in your pockets?
Thirteen... Sixty-seven.
Forget it.
Cash flow problem?
I have a kitchen vent system that needs an upgrade, 60k.
HVAC replacement, 50k.
And the goddamn roof is leaking, 30k.
And now the bank is gonna foreclose,
and I'm gonna have nothing if I don't sell.
What?
I'm gonna join my folks in Nashville.
Move?
I'm sure we can figure something out.
There's way too much history to just throw it all away.
No. Uh, people don't want history. They want...
They want DJs. They want bottle service.
They want new.
Oh, the genius plan is hatching.
Here it comes.
Here... Here it comes.
You can almost see the gears turning.
Here it comes,
and there it is.
You slept with my cousin! You grub-sucking bitch!
Whoa!
I slept with your cousin? I don't even know your cousin!
Do I know her cousin?
You don't forget about something like that.
That's the thing, though. I do.
- I forget whole days sometimes even. - What? Come out with it.
- Ah. Let's go. - No, you're not going anywhere.
Look, we gotta go. Look, we're gonna figure this out.
We're gonna get to the bottom of this.
I know, it's shocking. It's weird.
I want to find out just as much as you wanna find out.
Sorry. We'll get to the bottom of the mystery.
Sorry, love you. Bye.
Can you guys wait up? What is going on?
They're selling the bar. That's it. It's over.
Probably to some hipster beard oil corporate dickheads.
Oh, God. I think I'm gonna be sick.
The whole town's story is built around that bar.
We're gonna do something about this
before everything we love turns to shit.
- Good. Let's kick the shit out of them. - Marcus!
No. Something way bigger than that.
- What? - What are you talking about?
Guys, have I ever steered you wrong in the past?
- Yeah. - Yes.
No.
JR, what? Stop, dude. What is going on?
What?
What?
This guy is a kook, man.
Let's just talk to him, let's ask him some questions.
In that trailer.
He is pretty cool though, and smart, and funny.
Actually, I like Rourke.
...smells disgusting.
- Hello? - Smells disgusting.
You have a stinking sleeping bag...
What the hell? I can't look at this.
- Hi. - You live in a pigsty.
- You are a pig. You get that? - What do you want?
- Can we talk? - Who's that?
- Another whore? - Some kids.
He doesn't sell firearms...
- Shut up. Get out. - Or pot.
He's a son of a bitch.
We just need five minutes of your time.
You got a light?
Five minutes, okay. Five minutes.
Hey, nice trailer, by the way.
You know, it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.
Drink?
Yeah.
I'm good, thanks.
What can you tell us about Wolcott Island?
Remember all those stories about Captain Kidd,
dumping his treasure around Montauk,
burying it out on Wolcott Island?
Why don't
the Duffys buy my clams anymore?
- Um... - Well, I'd hate to speak on
- behalf of our parents. - I don't think we should say anything.
It might have something to do with
you nearly poisoning half of Montauk with that last batch.
It's your ice.
- Not the ice. - Not our ice.
Guys, we're not here to talk about clams.
- Tell us about the island. - What do you wanna know about the island?
All of it.
We wanna know what's out there.
No, you don't. You, son,
you're crazy.
It started ten years ago...
When Jasper Wolcott began losing his mind.
The lord of the Wolcott Manor,
he was convinced that there was
buried treasure on the island.
You see, his granddad was visited one night by Captain Kidd.
The pirate struck up a deal with the Wolcotts
to bury his treasure on the island
while the government was hunting him up north.
Unfortunately for Captain Kidd,
he was hanged before he could return
to claim what was rightfully his.
So, old Jasper Wolcott had good reason to think
that the treasure was still buried somewhere on his property.
He dug up that entire damn island
because he was so paranoid that the treasure would be stolen.
What makes you so sure that it's still there?
I was drinking to forget.
And?
And I, you know, I walked out of Paumanok's.
Drunk. Drunk.
Wasted.
Drunk. Drunk. Very drunk. Uh...
I passed out on a rowboat, and I woke up on a beach.
Thought I was still in Montauk.
I kept walking deeper into the forest,
trying to find my way home, that's when I saw him.
That's Jasper Wolcott, digging.
And in this hole in the ground was Captain Kidd's chest,
sparkling in the moonlight.
I stood there and watched as he laid it back into the earth to bury it.
The next thing I know...
- Bam! I'm getting smashed over the head. - What?
I wake up in a jail cell back in Montauk.
They charged me with trespassing.
Time out. You're saying he was burying the gold?
That's right.
What an idiot.
And no one ever found it?
If anyone did, they've been damn quiet about it.
Couple of days later, Wolcott goes missing.
Now, the only ones left are his daughter and his grandkid.
Why didn't you go back for it?
Something wrong with that island, okay?
There's something just not right about that island.
You guys believe in supernatural...
- No. - ...forces?
I ain't afraid of no ghosts. Ghostbusters.
No.
I mean,
we could be
there and back before sundown with
a million dollars.
Do you still have your uncle's old metal detectors?
In the garage.
You know what? Why don't you go ahead and show it to me?
Yeah. Well, I figure the boat washed up right around here.
- Okay. - Yeah, then I got out,
I climbed up this cliff, I go through the woods...
Remember when I said I didn't know anything
about lockers being broken into?
Turns out, I'm a bit of a locksmith.
And I guess also a liar.
You have two fingers on this thing. You're not even holding it.
I can't see.
Typically, treasure hunts can't solve most people's problems.
But in Montauk, maybe they can.
Then again, not every stone should be turned.
There's generally creepy crawlers underneath.
I don't think a professional pirate
will hide his treasure this close to shore, guys.
God, this thing's ancient, mine's not beeping.
Yeah. When was the last time these were used, Marcus?
How the hell am I supposed to know?
Your uncle never took you out looking for bottle caps?
No. Never really liked my uncle.
Why do you keep racing ahead of me? You hit my metal detector.
I don't know if you're holding a metal detector.
It looks like a giant spatula.
When was the last time you showered? You smell like a bunny cage.
- Everybody stinks. - Not like that.
Some of us are just worse at hiding it.
Yeah.
You know what? I'm kinda liking this plan now.
In the woods, got my friends
and Web... Got brews...
Away from all the bitching going on in town.
Kind of reminds me when we were kids hanging out in the backyard again.
You were locked in your room a lot. What do you know?
Remember, you told him you put a sleeping spell on that squirrel
and made him kiss it?
You got rabies that day, didn't you?
No. I did not get rabies. I got an infection.
Yeah. You said that about a couple other things.
What if the treasure is buried with a bunch of dead bodies?
- That'd be cool. - It's a possibility.
Oh, who dies first?
I think you die first, Marcus.
No, I'll definitely die, but.
I think they'd save me for last.
- Web? - Mmm.
You're the least significant one here, right?
- So, I think you'd be first. - Shut up!
Now, I really feel like my character might live a double life.
Yes, I got it.
I killed both of you in the woods.
And at the end, you see me sipping grape-a in Paris.
It's grappa, you idiot.
You don't know shit about Paris, Marcus. Idiot.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God!
Jesus Christ. What is that?
- Utterly grotesque. - Why is it here?
JR, what is that thing? Is it a pelican?
It's a turkey, you idiot.
Whoa. Look at this.
Whole family is here.
This one's different.
Jasper Wolcott? Guys.
What are you doing?
What? You're not curious?
We're really close. I think we should just keep going.
- Yeah, dude. - Get out.
So weird.
Guys, this says it should be right here.
Let me see that thing.
- Oh. - What?
That's it, this is how it all starts.
- Alone in the woods, dead phone. - What, it died?
Yeah. I keep telling you to get one of those battery packs.
What happened to yours?
I lost it at the bonfire last week. JR?
I have battery, but I haven't had signal since the canoe.
I think we should go home.
You wanna quit?
- Let's go back, we can circle around it. - Okay.
It?
Guys, slow down. I think it was just a security guard.
- Or a bear? - A bear?
Jesus Christ. We got bears out here now?
Seriously, JR?
Whoa...
There it is.
All right, I say we go up there, tell Ms. Wolcott we got lost,
apologize, see if she'll let us inside.
What if she calls the cops?
Once it gets dark, what do you wanna do?
I don't wanna be here once it gets dark.
I don't care. I'm down for whatever you guys want.
Let me do the talking.
- Marcus... - Yeah?
Limit your words.
I will not speak unless spoken to.
Ladies, never listen to boys.
He's got a gun, JR.
- Hi. - Hi.
Get the hell off my property.
- Okay. - Whoa. Whoa, whoa.
We just need to speak with Kate Wolcott.
No, we don't. It's fine.
We're not trying to cause any problems. We... We got lost.
I said leave.
Get back inside!
Collier, you can open up the gate and let them in.
Take away their weapons.
They're not weapons, they're...
- They're metal detectors. Yeah. - These are metal detectors.
Hi.
Oh, that's, uh...
What are you kids doing here?
- Um, we were looking for... - Well...
- We were looking... - What are we doing here?
What were we doing there?
...for Captain Kidd's treasure.
I'm sure that sounds completely stupid to you.
Well, did you find anything?
We got lost. It got dark.
And we're pretty sure someone else is out.
Oh, yeah. There's some creep out there or something.
Well, you've come at a very dangerous time.
Why?
Well, we'd better get indoors.
Come on. I'll fix us all some dinner.
- I don't... - I don't think it's...
Perfectly fine.
That sounds great.
Thank you. That's really nice. That's...
Great.
Oh, yeah. Uh, can I get that stuff back, maybe or...
- Do you speak French? - I studied French
- in high school a little bit. - Sorry, thank you.
I know what you're thinking.
Don't go into the house. I would never go into the house.
Well, you weren't there.
He had a gun. Don't judge me, okay?
I'm gonna stop talking for a while now. Just watch.
Stick together.
Dude, stop.
Help yourselves. Spaghetti Bolognese.
Constance's favorite.
Oh.
And please enjoy the wine. It's from my father's collection.
Oh.
Water.
I apologize for causing any alarm.
As you can see, we're a little bit on edge these days.
Thanks so much for hosting us.
Yeah, thank you.
It's nice to have company once in a while.
Although, sneaking on this property was very foolish.
You could have been killed.
Well, I... I guess it was a little bit of an overreaction. Right?
Well, what Collier means to say
is we've had a lot of trespassers over the past few years.
The woods aren't safe at night. We need to stay indoors.
Thankfully, Collier is a very good shot.
Right.
I'm very curious.
What inspired you to go on such a silly adventure?
Like I said before, I mean, I guess
someone told us that they saw, maybe ten years ago, uh,
that your father found Captain Kidd's treasure
and hid it somewhere on the property.
I'm realizing now that it was probably a bad idea.
And I really appreciate you not calling the cops.
- Yeah. - Mmm.
My father was a very complicated man.
He lost his mind and became obsessed with finding that chest.
It was very sad to watch his mind deteriorate like that.
Wait, so you never saw any trace of it?
Well, he certainly never told me anything about it.
I guess we shouldn't have trusted the town drunk.
You don't say?
Well, there is one thing that might interest you kids.
You don't have to show them that.
It was the only thing my father left me before he died.
It looks old. Who knows?
It may have been written by Captain Kidd himself.
He was in love with my great-great grandmother.
"My love. A trove entombed in her Princeton by the sea."
I just assumed it was instructions
to be buried with the family on the island.
We passed the cemetery earlier,
but, you know, Jasper's grave was all dug up.
Well, my father isn't buried in the family plot.
To this day, I don't know where his body was put to rest.
I wasn't allowed to attend his funeral.
That's him! There he is! That's the guy from before!
You sure you saw something?
Yeah, he was right there a second ago, staring at all of us.
Have some water.
- Mnh, mnh. - Drink some water.
He's gone.
- He's gone? - Shouldn't you call the cops?
Yes. Good idea.
Our telephone has been out all week.
We have the electrician coming in a few days.
Collier, take Constance up to bed.
Good night, darling.
Poor child. Can't speak.
She's been touched by the hand of God.
Now what do you three say to some entertainment?
Oh.
And you with the hair, you get on the end, there.
I think that's enough.
Thank you.
- That was really special. - That was great.
We'll pick this up again tomorrow.
Are we sleeping over?
This way.
Don't forget to lock everything up.
Stop.
This way.
I'm kinda messed up.
That's what happens when you drink all day.
Hey, sorry. Do you think that we could get our stuff back?
I'll see you in the morning.
Oh, um...
Did he just lock us in?
Yes, in fact he did.
So, what did we do? Look for a ladder? Tie some sheets together? Jump?
All very viable options, thanks for asking.
He's not wakin' up. Hey, Marcus!
We have to find a way out of here.
How?
Shut up!
Could you open that?
Probably.
Mmm-hmm.
Mmm.
What for?
I don't like being in a locked room, do you?
Well, no, but...
Look, if I unlock it, I'm not gonna be able to lock it again.
They'll know.
What are we gonna do with them?
Let me play with my new toys for a while.
The hell was that?
Can you open it for me?
- No, that sounds like a terrible idea. - Just open it for me.
This may be my last entry.
I want you to burn this tape.
"My love. A trove entombed
in her Princeton by the sea."
God! Promise me you won't let them take my treasure.
Captain Kidd...
Buried it here on our island.
This is our island. It's our family.
You keep it in our family!
Kingfish! Kingfish! Kingfish!
Good morning!
Where is everyone?
We're in here.
What's the matter with him?
He's sick.
Oh. What a shame.
Tiny sips.
Well, breakfast is prepared downstairs.
Yeah, we can't leave him.
Well, he has to get his rest.
And you certainly don't want to catch anything.
You gonna be okay? I think I gotta go down to breakfast for a second.
- Mmm. - Okay.
Before you start eating, can you come over here?
And what were you doing up last night?
What do you mean?
Well, I don't expect that you went through all the trouble
to break out of your room just to catch some fresh air.
Well, I-I heard something.
I thought someone was screaming and might be in trouble.
And? Did you discover anything?
Must have been my imagination.
Take off your clothes.
What?
Well, that boy upstairs is very sick.
You know, it would ruin all of my plans for the day if you were to get us all ill.
So, there are pathogens on those clothes,
so I'm gonna need you to change into something new.
He doesn't have the plague.
I have a terrible fear of getting sick.
So, you're just going to have to change into something more sanitary.
We can wash them if necessary.
I have given you food and shelter,
and you're going to deny me this small request?
You want us to change right here?
You think I want your germs all over my house?
No, no. Um...
So, obviously, right here.
That will do it.
You look absolutely divine in my family's hand-me-downs.
She burned my favorite shirt.
JR, you need to smile a little bit bigger.
And, you, what's your name?
- It's Web. - Deb?
- Web. - Web. Oh, Web.
What a charming moniker.
Move in a little closer to JR. Just squeeze in.
Smile and say, "Cheese"!
Cheese!
God! It's getting a little chilly out here, isn't it?
Why don't we reconvene inside?
Come on. Come on, kids.
This is all your fault.
You know, the three of you got me thinking that maybe,
just maybe, my father discovered something on this island.
"My love, a trove entombed in our Princeton by the sea."
Do you have any idea what that meant?
Probably doesn't mean anything.
Well, consider the possibility that it was my father's way of saying
that the treasure was buried with him on the island.
Very good.
JR, can you point to where on the map you were searching?
No offense, but what is the point of this?
We tried to do it yesterday and we just ended up getting lost.
Oh, nonsense. JR?
It was supposedly in this clearing.
We must've wandered right past it.
Well, what do you say? With a little luck, we might just find it.
Take this.
- That won't be necessary. - Take it.
Um, in the house?
This is going to be fun!
I'm thinking about going back to school and studying the bar.
Make a fortune in this place.
Bunch of degenerates, present company included.
You should start on your man, Rourke.
There's no saving him. He's either gonna end up murdered or in jail.
Just yesterday, I saw the Duffy twins come by
and I know they weren't selling cookies.
That's something. Yesterday I saw them steal McGhee's canoe.
Bastard Marcus, stared right at me and just waved.
- You didn't stop him? - I don't like McGhee.
Somebody's been breaking into the lockers at the country club.
My money's on the Duffy twins.
That settles it. You'll need to go pass the bar
if there's any hope for this place.
Hi, you've reached JR Morgan
at Morgan Paint and Supply.
Hey, you've reached Web's phone.
Please leave a message after the beep. And I'll call you back as soon as I...
Yo.
Marcus.
What's up?
Where are you? What are you doing?
I can't hear you. What?
Where are you?
Pardon me?
God damn it! Marcus, where are you?
Ah, I got ya. This is Marcus' voicemail. Leave a message or whatever...
Careful, you don't spoil me with too much attention.
Looks like some kind of hideout.
I really think that we should get home now.
Bad manners, knocking like that.
Are you... Are you kidding me?
How come you won't let me near the bar,
but you're allowed in my personal space?
My friends came by yesterday. What'd you sell 'em?
The three little treasure hunters? Those little fellas?
What do you mean by that?
I'm probably gonna die.
You're not gonna die.
They might be bat shit crazy. I'll give you that.
But they're hermits.
Wolcott is just a lonely lady.
That's all it is.
Let me work on her.
We came here for something and we're so close.
Do you really think that we're gonna save that bar?
Or are you just trying to impress Daphne?
What?
I mean, nothing's been normal since we got here.
The longer we stay, stuff's just gonna keep getting weirder.
We never should've came.
What's this?
That little girl was trying to tell us something,
and I have no idea what.
Is that Wolcott?
It can't be.
I think we should go right now.
There is nothing else keeping us here.
And this is probably the moment we should have ran like hell.
Is he still in the house?
Constance, don't take out the tomato. It's the juiciest part.
The juice...
Part...
Is it...
Is it hot in here?
Get back in the house!
What the hell?
What?
- Come here. - Let go!
Enough!
We're getting out of here. Can you walk?
Mom! Mom!
I hate you!
Stop it!
Let me out!
Shut up!
Wait, I thought she couldn't talk.
Okay. I think it's pretty obvious that I don't know what's going on right now.
- Let me out! - Damn it.
Collier. Open the door! Collier!
Collier! Open the door!
What are you doing?
Hey. Collier!
Collier! Open the door, let us out. Collier!
We're never getting out.
I told you that we should have left already.
- Just let me think. - Jesus Christ.
No.
- Can we jump? - We're never gonna make that.
- No one's jumping. - What are we to to do?
He just bolted the doors.
If he wanted to hurt us, we'd be hurt by now, right?
Did you drink any of that wine?
No.
I mean, neither did anyone else.
What? You're saying they spiked it?
I don't know.
I'm dead. I die first.
Constance's bedroom is down the hall.
Somehow, she was tapping on this wall.
But she had to be locked in her bedroom.
She must be closer.
Wait a second.
Yeah.
Stay with him.
Be careful.
We never met Kate Wolcott.
What?
These people steal other people's identities
and then move on.
What do they do with the families?
- It's time we get out of here. - Well, we can't just leave the kid.
We'll call the cops, tell them to come back here or something.
Help me move him.
Come on, wake up.
We're going. We're going.
Try to get up. Come on, buddy.
- What's happening? - My hand.
Okay. Okay, okay. Here.
- Ow. I wanna go home. - Shh.
Shit, shit, shit, shit!
Are you hurt?
Come on, man. You can do this.
- Come on, Marcus. - Come on. I know you can do it.
- Damn it! Sorry. - Marcus, Come on!
Come on, you got this. Come on. Come on, you got it.
It's broken, it's broken.
What do we do?
Wait. What?
He won't find him.
No, no, no. Wait. Guys.
It's our best option. Just close your eyes.
Oh, my God. Guys!
- We'll come back for you. - You serious?
Just try to stay still.
You cannot leave me here like this.
It's the only idea we have.
Stop throwing leaves on me!
Close your eyes.
Oh, I'm getting bugs in my mouth.
I promise we'll come back.
Why are you guys such assholes?
Marcus, please!
You guys suck!
Don't move.
Where's the other one?
We don't know.
We ran in different directions.
Back to the house.
Now!
Kate Wolcott's property is off limits to the public.
Cameron, come on.
I'm asking if you can take a look, see if they're there.
Ms. Wolcott does not like being harassed.
And if these three idiots really are over there,
then then they really will be in trouble. Like, serious trouble.
- By the law. - Can you just do me this favor?
Okay. You do understand that, as a citizen,
one must abide by a certain set of rules in order to be a decent human being,
one of which is to not trespass on private property.
- Cameron, what else do you have to do? - Whoa.
Hey, take caution in your tone, okay?
This badge entitles me to some respect.
God. Cameron, I respect you. I respect you so much,
that every year, I host the Clambake charity
to support your brothers and sisters in blue. So please?
From one patriot to another.
Send someone over there to check.
Please.
When things get real, everybody thinks that they'll have a plan.
But the thing is, nothing ever goes according to plan.
Yes?
Hey, this is Officer Andrews.
I'm sorry for the intrusion, but I'm over by your dock, looking to come up.
Now's not a good time.
I apologize for that, but I'm under orders from my superior officer.
Come back tomorrow, please.
Ma'am, I was instructed to come here today.
Follow the dirt path out by the docks,
and I'll meet you in front of the house.
Copy that. See you shortly.
Put them in the basement, and keep them quiet.
Collier, you know, you don't need to do this.
Whatever you're trying to do, we can help.
- We wanna help... - Shut up.
Oh, my God.
Watch your steps, or you're going to break your necks.
Don't move.
Impressive house you have.
Why, thank you.
- Big family? - No.
You spray for ticks?
No.
Well, they got this new one out here called a lone star.
That thing bites you, you'll never be able to eat red meat again.
Oh, my.
Can you imagine what kind of demon bug
would make it where you couldn't eat a steak for the rest of your life?
Personally, if it were me,
I'd risk it with a burger as long as I got my EPIPEN.
Well, you've convinced me. We'll have to spray.
I have a little landscaping business on the side.
- I'll give you a good price. - Oh, well, thank you.
- You mind if I... - Oh.
You got it?
- It's a lovely accent. - Oh, you too.
Did you grow up around here?
Mostly.
What am I thinking? Of course, you grew up here.
Well, I think I've pretty much seen enough.
I'm going to call it in. Tell them I didn't find anything.
You mind if I use your bathroom?
Sure.
It's right this way.
I sent someone over there,
and he said that he's with Ms. Wolcott,
and he hasn't seen any kids.
So, that's it?
They haven't even been missing for 24 hours.
I suggest you give it the night, and I'll call you in the morning.
Looks like you've had visitors lately.
You know, there's workers coming and going.
It's hard to keep track of them.
Looks like somebody tried to break in.
Oh, is that right?
Help! Help!
- Get this off me. - What is going on?
Take me to Wolcott Island.
What are you kids taking these days? Like PCP, DMT, Adderall...
Something feels off.
I know they're there.
They'll toss me in a jail cell if I leave Montauk.
Then let me borrow your boat.
You kids want nothing but trouble.
Drinks are on me for the day. How about that?
Two days ago,
these maniacs show up,
and they take over the house, and...
I hear screaming coming from the house. And by the time I...
I get up the hill to the house, they have caged.
You should've told us. You should've signaled for help.
What the hell do you think I've been trying to do?
No, I mean, every time that I would get close to you guys,
he would chase me off with a gun.
Then just burn the whole goddamn place down then.
I think that would trigger quite a vicious response.
So, what are you doing out here?
My job is to look after the child.
I'm the gatekeeper here.
I think we have a chance to get the house back,
now there's two of us.
And you've seen the chain that the guy has, that's my chain.
And there's a key on it to everything on the property there.
Including the boat.
- Wait. The canoe, we came in a canoe. - No, no, the canoe's long gone.
He trashed that the day after you showed up.
Oh, God. McGhee's gonna kill me.
Shit.
So, how you... How you feeling there? Any better?
The worst I've felt since
this time I got rabies, probably.
I wanna get you out of here, but we have to give them something that they want.
I know what they want.
They've been down here every night torturing me for it.
They won't believe me when I tell them I don't have any idea.
What is it?
They wanna know where my dad is buried.
I think they think he's buried with a fortune.
In the recordings, your father kept repeating the word "Kingfish."
No. Those recordings are nothing more than the diary of a madman.
He's repeating a family nickname they use for the Lord of the Manor here.
I don't understand.
We can't give them what they want, because what they want isn't real.
I hate this.
I think I'm gonna have to hang on to Constance a while longer.
If you touch her, I swear I'll kill you.
I think you were right.
I... I heard the old tapes from Jasper Wolcott.
He said something about burying the chest with him when he died,
so no one would find it.
Aw.
That was fun while it lasted, wasn't it?
Our little family?
Aw.
I really hate to end this,
but there are no more rocks to look under.
Dude. Psst.
Hey.
If you're looking for Jasper's grave,
I can take you right to it.
Oh. Finally, he shows his face.
All you gotta do is let them go.
Yeah. Um, I think I'm gonna have to pass on that, but thank you.
I can show you the exact spot.
How's that?
Because I buried him.
Okay.
This is it.
Dig.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
Get this piece of shit off me!
Okay. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Oh, my God.
Okay.
You got it?
I got you, I got you, I got you.
Down here!
Web!
Where is it?
Where is it?
That's all there is.
That's all there is?
What? There's noth...
Get in.
Get in!
You, too.
I can help you. What do you want? What do you need...
Web!
You okay? What did they do to you?
Here.
- What happened to you? - I've had a terrible day.
How... How did you find us?
Rourke.
Constance! Constance, baby, where are you?
Constance! Oh, God!
You're all right.
What do you want?
I'll do... I'll do whatever you want.
What-what do you want?
Do you have a passport?
Cade! Cade.
Are you... Are you... Are you all right?
- Yeah. - Yeah?
No.
You're...
Okay.
Okay. It's okay.
Heck, you're crazy. What are you doing here?
Look at them. That's so sweet.
There is nothin' like a good cuddle after extreme acts of violence.
So...
Was there ever even a treasure?
I don't know. It's probably long gone.
Maybe the real treasure was just the friends we made along the way.
Yeah, probably not. So, what's the takeaway?
Good guys win, bad guys, uh, dead?
And business is booming
since everyone wants to hang out at the heroes' bar.
Hey, Mom, what's up?
What?
Okay, how many orders?
Mom, that's great.
Yeah, we're gonna help you. I'll tell him right now.
Yes, I'll tell him. Okay.
Sometimes, you just gotta look fear straight in the eye
- and say, "Let's dance, bitch." - Wow.
Marcus gets his 15 minutes of fame and goes on the wagon.
Kate bails out the bar.
Rourke doesn't have to sell dirty clams anymore,
but he still can't leave Montauk.
Two Wolcott Burgers.
Ooh, yum. Thank you.
The prince grows some balls.
I'm taking you to dinner.
I wanna go out to many dinners with you.
But in order to have many dinners,
I think we have to start just with one dinner.
And then, we can have more dinners, but if we don't start with the dinner...
Yeah. Like now or whenever.
Before we can have other dinners, you know.
I really wanna take you out to more dinners.
More dinners. But it's gotta start with the one, right?
- Does that make sense? - It makes sense.
Okay. Dinner.
You pay, I'll eat.
And let me... let me just finish my shift, and I'll meet you at Sam's at 8:00, okay?
That sound good, crazy?
Oh, JR.
Wait, the story is not over.
Don't cue the music. Turn down the music.
What do I get? What?
Hello?
You know, on-on quiet nights in the summer,
the commercial men on the water, they...
They say they can still hear the sound of cannon fire.
And that mad captain laughing like a, laughing, you know, just laughing.
Stop. No, I don't do ghosts. Not for me.
I can't believe nobody's found the money.
Do you have any idea where it can be?
People have been looking in the wrong spot for 200 years.
Last year, there was an excavation of a cave
below the lighthouse.
They found candlesticks dating back to the 17th century.
The treasure remains undiscovered.
It's still out there
waiting to be found.
