is still being trafficked in certain parts of the country.

Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan

are a few of the states that have taken some drastic steps

to restrict what comes in and out of their borders.

These states now have the technology to monitor

for not only narcotics and human trafficking,

but also the hate speech

that is located within the old Holy Bible.

Ohio is really leading this initiative.

These concerted efforts are making us safer

on a day-to-day basis.

Our law enforcement officers

stand in harm's way every day. (doorbell dinging)

They should be applauding this.

- Breaking news this morning coming out of Chicago.

Commuter train 116 derailed this morning

after it collided with a pickup truck just south of Chicago,

near Cedar Lake, Indiana.

The driver of the truck

and 57 passengers aboard the train were killed.

This is the second accident involving a commuter train

in the last 12 months.

An investigation is underway.

The holidays are just around the corner.

- Oh my gosh.

And with whom did he meet?

- So we needed five of each? - Yes.

- It's the same logo as before?

- [Customer] Yes.

- I have no reason to doubt who he was. He gave this to me.

It was The Apostle. I'm sure of it.

- And why is that? - Dad, there's a sales rep

According to one of our informants,

he met at a local diner with a man named Nate Smith.

Nate Smith then went on to meet with this man.

His name is Jim Edwards.

- [Tynan] You want us to make an arrest, sir?

Edwards was known to work for The Apostle for several years,

but then quit suddenly after his wife was killed.

Watch these men.

If The Apostle is not apprehended,

more situations like the Springfield incident

will begin to crop up all over the country.

or are you just gonna act like everything's fine?

But that's only a small part of what's been going on lately.

At least, if you're done with these overnighters,

maybe you can focus on your real job.

But these people are starving for the real Word of God.

And we're trying to raise that boy back there

to know who God is.

And what is he supposed to think if we can't even

get on the same page? - We?

- [Rachel] And you trust them, your team?

This feels really rushed, doesn't it?

- I mean, I wish I had months to plan this thing,

but we don't.

Now, I know that not everybody knows each other,

so let's start with some introductions.

- I'm Tyler McCully, but you can call me Ty.

I drive trucks, so of course,

I'll be assisting on the travel and logistics.

Met Nate at church a few years ago, he knows.

I can get myself in and out of dangerous situations.

He brought me in on a smuggling operation,

and now I help out from time to time.

I'm a graphic designer. You've probably seen my work.

I specialize in finding the best way-

- This is my younger brother.

- [JJ] Yes. I've always been known as Nate's brother.

- [Nate] JJ is quick-witted, and he can think on his feet.

He's new to all this, but I trust him with my life.

Uh, JJ and I have been friends since...

- [JJ] Pete's gonna get his feet wet on this job.

- I'm just excited to be here.

- Jake?

- I'm Jake Thornton.

I've helped Nate out on these kinds of jobs

for a few years now.

- Most of you guys know my beautiful wife, Rachel.

She's not actually gonna be going on the mission with us.

She'll be here in a support capacity.

And let me lay it all out for you.

I was recently approached by a man at the diner

who wants us to deliver some Bibles.

- Seems simple enough.

- No, no. Uh, original Bibles.

Illegal Bibles.

- Oh.

Oh. - Yeah.

- So, like, dangerous stuff?

- Yeah.

- Guys, this job is unlike anything we've ever done before.

There are seven underground churches spread

throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois.

Each church has designated one of its members

to come out of hiding to meet us.

Our job is to deliver a single copy

of the scriptures to that person.

- Which you won't know who they are.

Not only that, you won't know their location

until the night of the drop.

- Once we're at the prearranged location,

we will use a codeword so our contact can identify us.

The night of the drop,

we will have a two-hour window to meet our contact.

- If you miss 'em, you will not see them again.

- Now, here's the tricky part.

Our supply was recently burned,

and we currently do not have any Bibles to deliver.

Furthermore, I don't know how

we're gonna get our hands on any.

Yet.

And we have two weeks.

- All while flying under the radar of Homeland Security.

- Look, I know that that's a lot to process,

but I wanted to be blunt with you because I feel

like you guys need to know what we're up against.

So,

are you in?

- Who'd you say this guy was?

- The Apostle.

- You mean The Apostle? You sure it was him?

'Cause I mean, it could've been an imposter,

for all we know.

- He had one of these.

- What's that?

It's a Chi Rho,

two ancient Greek letters that form a symbol of Christ.

Early Christians used it to identify each other,

because they were constantly persecuted.

So when they saw this symbol, they knew they were safe.

The Apostle became identified with this symbol.

- So he's like Batman?

- Now, you said seven churches.

There's only six of us.

- [Nate] Waiting on one more guy.

- Who?

- Jim Edwards.

- No! The guy that got his wife killed?

- He's a friend of mine, and I'm telling you, Cody,

he has the experience that we need.

He can help us. - Yes, if he'll help.

- Yeah, and that's a big if.

I mean, I don't know about you guys,

but I'd like to stay alive during this whole thing now.

- Okay, um, nobody's getting killed. It's not like that.

- Yeah, Jim's wife just died by accident,

and people are just randomly disappearing too, am I right?

- It was an accident. These things happen.

And people aren't disappearing.

The government doesn't do that. They're not the Gestapo.

Do you know how paranoid you sound?

The only thing you're missing is a (scoffs) tinfoil hat.

- You haven't seen what we've seen.

- I'll tell you what I've seen.

(gentle music)

- I've seen the joyful faces of people

who've had a copy of the Word of God delivered to them.

I've seen hope.

We can be the couriers of hope

to the people in these seven churches.

Nobody said that this job doesn't have risks. It does.

So if you want out,

It's not even close to the living, breathing Word of God.

- Well, then you take it to them. Just leave us out of it.

- I'll do it.

- I'll go, Nate.

Look, you need another person, right?

- Yeah. - Okay, then I'll do it.

- Okay, but- - But what?

Is it because I'm a woman?

- No, it's because he knows what you're up against.

- Yeah, well, you and Mom did it.

- Think about what you're saying!

- Dad, you're not gonna do it.

- Yeah.

- Come with us, Mr. Edwards.

- Mr. Edwards, it says here that you were

the pastor of a church at Springfield, Ohio.

Is that correct?

And why did you leave that position?

- It was time for a change.

- Mm.

- Where's Pete? He knows about the meeting, right?

- Yeah. Um, he's not returning my texts or calls, so...

(thunder cracking)

You know, I'm sure his mom won't let him come out, so.

- His mother?

So he lives with his mother?

- In her basement.

- Exactly what we need, y'all.

Somebody that lives with their mother.

- You know, I, um,

- Most people know who The Apostle is.

So do you find it at all surprising

That is the question that I've been pondering over

and over again.

would Mr. Smith

come running to you after their little meeting?

- Are people not allowed to meet with friends anymore

without raising suspicion?

I haven't done anything wrong, have I?

- No.

We're just getting to know one another here.

(doorbell ringing)

Now, I understand Mr. Edwards, I do, but before you go...

- Are you expecting someone?

- Please do, uh, answer me one last question.

(foreboding music)

Why is your daughter at Mr. Smith's house right now?

(device chiming)

- People are free to go wherever they wish.

She and Mrs. Smith are friends.

- No, I'm sure they are.

And as a father, I have to imagine that you have only

the best interests in mind for your daughter.

A word to the wise would be sufficient.

- Is that a threat?

- Well, that is the truth.

I mean, you are a man who seeks the truth, are you not?

- Families continue to hold memorial services

for the casualties of the derailment

of commuter train 116 outside of Chicago.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Earlier today, Illinois Attorney General William Curry

gave a brief statement to reporters.

- The investigation into the accident just south of Chicago

between commuter train 116 and a pickup truck

will now be taken over by my office.

At this time, there's enough evidence

to warrant a criminal investigation.

- [Reporter] What evidence did you find

to merit a criminal investigation?

- I'm not at liberty to give any details right now,

but there is evidence that someone

with known ties to The Apostle was involved.

We will keep the public apprised

of any additional developments.

And I will not be taking any further questions right now.

- I don't think so.

- I was detained. They were asking questions about you.

- What did you say?

- Nothing. They don't have anything on me.

But they do think you'll lead them to The Apostle.

- Okay.

Is that it? Is that why you brought me out here?

- I'm in. But we do things my way, you understand?

- Absolutely.

Jim, I've been praying that God-

- I don't care about that.

It's about my daughter, about her safety.

- I'll take care of Ashley.

- With the Apostle involved,

you have no idea what you're up against.

- We should codename each church.

- To keep Homeland from discovering our locations.

How about the Seven Churches of Revelation?

- It's a good idea.

The only problem is I don't know the exact locations yet.

- You have a rough idea, right?

- Yeah. - Okay, we'll go with that,

until The Apostle gives you anything different.

Since your stash of Bibles was burned,

we'll pull from my wife's collection.

First, Illinois. County roads and cornfields.

Should be simple enough.

Jake will have codename Smyrna

Ty can take codename Sardis.

Until we know the drop point,

the exit will be between Terre Haute and Vincennes.

Kentucky could be a challenge.

- [Nate] The river?

- No, there's checkpoints at every road across the border,

so they risk exposing themselves traveling in Indiana.

What do you have in mind?

- You won't like it,

but I think it should be Cody and Ashley.

They could appear as a couple

going on vacation or something.

- Yeah, she definitely doesn't want me

looking over her shoulder.

- [Nate] It could be safer to use tributaries

that feed into the Ohio River, and then cross into Kentucky.

- [Jim] Cody will have codename Philadelphia.

Ashley will take codename Thyatira.

- How good are you with a paddle?

- And last but not least, you, me, and JJ in Ohio.

You'll have Pergamum, JJ Laodicea. I'll take Ephesus.

- We should be able to cross the border around Richmond.

- Ohio is the toughest of three borders.

If they stop you, they'll scan all your devices,

just like they did in the diner,

so digital trafficking is out.

They can read everything.

- [Nate] So we won't take main highways.

- [Jim] Ohio had a serious drug trafficking problem

a few years back.

They set up drones to patrol the border.

I didn't think it was gonna be like this.

- What'd you think it was gonna be like?

Maybe it would be better to just

be content with the revised Bible.

It's not as bad as you think, okay?

- What are you talking about? - It's still the Bible, Nate.

It's been translated many times.

Besides, there's, like, some offensive

and just plain outdated things in the Bible, okay?

I can understand why the government would want to change it.

- What are you talking about offensive?

- If God is as loving

and as gracious as the Bible says he is,

why is God sending people to hell for one mistake?

- Come on. Sin is sin, and you know that.

- But eternal death? - Yeah.

- I just believe God loves us for who we are.

- It's like I don't even know who you are right now.

- Yeah, maybe you don't.

The Jesus that I believe in, he loves me for who I am,

and for all of my mistakes.

(somber music)

- And why did Jesus have to die, JJ?

Hmm?

You know he went to the cross and sacrificed himself

to give us a way out of the awful choices

that we made that separate us from him.

He didn't do it just so that we could stay the same

great, wonderful people that we already are.

- Okay, that's harsh. - Is it?

He made a way out for us to be with him.

And all that he asked from us

is that we deny ourselves the sin

that we so desperately crave and follow him.

I'm sorry, man, but I love you enough to tell you,

you're wrong.

You are.

If you change one word in the Bible,

you're essentially trying to take the place of God.

The Bible is this beautiful, hope-filled message

full of grace and kindness and love and...

and who brought her out of it.

I didn't get it at first.

And then the government-added diversions came.

It's like she knew it was coming.

We didn't know how fast.

And once they were enforced, we were a threat.

She knew her mission

was to get those Bibles in people's hands.

- I don't think I ever got that passion.

I just wanted to be with her,

protect her.

And one day,

we were prepping for delivery,

and they must've tracked us.

We ran and, um,

I told her to follow me.

She was shot.

She died in my arms.

The last thing she said to me was, "Remember."

And now Ashley's involved.

I don't know that I can protect her.
