Original subtitles

No one's safe here.

I might be in serious trouble.

For the first time ever,

the toughest survival competition on the planet

goes down under...

...as 14 of the world's most elite survivalists

take on the Australian Outback,

where they must conquer their environment...

Savage strikes again, baby!

...and each other...

Sending people home is what I do.

...to win $100,000.

Only one with the will...

I'm not going home!

...will become...

I'm ready to fight.

...the last one standing.

Australia!

Previously on Last One Standing...

After Trish, Kaila, and Laura's shocking exit,

the challenge is now every competitor for themselves.

"Starting today, there are no more camp competitions."

Whoa!

"You must compete as an individual going forward."

- In the Bow and Butcher Challenge... - Hit!

...Matt, Patrick, Cheeny and Darrin

each claimed a rabbit and a survival asset.

I'm going for the knife.

But Max failed to land a single kill shot.

Lost the challenge, but I've come to terms with it,

and I always say it's not how you start,

it's how you finish.

So I just got to keep looking forward.

As the competition progressed to zone three,

survivalist camps were shuffled,

pairing Matt and Cheeny and Darrin and Patrick...

- Darrin. - Hey, there's Patrick.

...leaving only Max to decide his path forward in the competition.

You cannot choose the same path as your camp mate.

Well, I don't have any camp mates.

I can either go left...

or I can either go right.

But I feel like I have a third choice...

as my heart's not in it,

and I'm gonna go home.

I've been in kind of a funk the last couple of days.

I lost my partners.

I got last place in the competition,

burned my foot.

Been in my head about it and now it's in my heart,

and now it's in my gut.

And, um, you know, you got to listen to what the universe says,

and I just feel in my heart,

it's just, it's time to pack it up,

and the time is now.

Dude, where have you been?

I've been on a trek.

Are you in our camp?

Uh, no, I'm just coming here to give you two some gifts.

What? Are you serious?

- What! - On my way out.

- On your way out-out? - Yeah.

- Uh-huh. - And my gut told me,

my heart told me, and my head was just not in it.

So I was just like, when those things align...

...it's time.

- It's time. - Yeah.

One of my biggest competitors has chosen to leave.

Survival is 90% mental.

I beat Max in that category today.

- Oi, Max! - Hey, buddy.

So, you're in our camp or their camp?

I'm in no camp. My camp is going home.

- No [bleep] way. - I swear to God.

He's quitting the competition.

I saw this a mile away.

Honestly, he was defeated.

Yeah. Boom.

And him quitting today makes total sense.

That's three out of four legends out of this competition.

This kind of sounds like I'm a legend slayer.

I don't know about that.

Oh, here we go.

Not the type of extraction I'm used to.

My journey here has come to an end.

The Outback is unforgiving, and when your head's not in it,

that's when things happen.

It's just tough out here to go head to head with some tough competitors,

and sometimes it's just too much

and I'm gonna count my losses and take my wins

and appreciate it for what it's worth.

So, it's my two-hundredth day on Naked and Afraid,

and it's been formative.

When you're stripped of everything, you realize

the people and the things that really matter to you.

I wouldn't be where I'm at without Naked and Afraid.

I feel like I've accomplished everything I wanted to do

on Naked and Afraid and more.

I don't feel like I have anything to prove.

I've proved everything on six prior challenges,

from a fan to a legend, to a mentor, to a competitor.

We did it!

- This is what I'm talking about! - We caught a gator!

And I believe my challenge...

...and journey on Naked and Afraid is complete.

It's been an absolute epic journey.

With Australia getting the best of Max,

only four competitors are left

to fight to be the last one standing.

- Hey. - Saw Max.

That was something.

I kind of saw it coming.

At, uh, competition yesterday,

it wasn't an elimination competition,

but it kind of was.

- Final four. - Final four.

- Final four right here. - Right here.

Of winning the whole thing.

25% chance for each person here...

- That's wild. - ...to win $100,000.

Pretty good odds.

That's what's crazy about being out here

is you never know when your last day is gonna be.

But I'm the last woman here.

Like I'm the one. I'm carrying the torch.

I'm getting better and closer as this challenge goes on.

There's no reason why a woman can't win this.

There's a few days left to this competition,

and I want to win it.

It's gonna be a battle now though.

Three out of four of the legends have gone home here.

- Wow, yeah. - That'd be nice.

- That's wild. - Three out of four legends.

Now our guns are on you, man.

Bring it on.

Did I think I'd be in the final four? I did.

Did I think the final four would be this soon?

Hell no.

And before you know it, we declare the winner.

- Yeah. - Yeah.

We just moved camps today.

I'm with Camp Patrick, and Max tapped out today.

Freaking didn't see that coming.

Yeah, only a few days left and there's only four people left.

But, uh, in the end there can be only one,

and it's gonna be me.

I am now paired with little Miss Cheeny.

Hey!

And I have no need to stress

about some sort of a shelter set-up,

some sort of rain protection,

because the weather, it has been absolutely amazing.

Having a morning hunt.

The mornings are really calm and there's almost no wind,

so, uh, scent management

is quite difficult in the mornings here.

There's a lot of thick, thick brush, thick grass,

and, uh, it's really hard to walk silent.

I mean, we've got some days left out here,

and, uh, meat score is going to be so important staying strong in this.

But I'm feeling great about Last One Standing.

There's a million things that could happen

to take you out of this game,

but if I don't get injured again,

I know, without a doubt,

I'm gonna be standing in that winner's circle.

Now, having an individual competition,

I need to prove and flaunt in my competitors' faces

that I'm a force of nature to be reckoned with out here.

I'm gonna come down and walk the perimeter

and see if anything looks good.

I got that rabbit.

But you have to keep that up every day

because as your body deteriorates,

food's the only thing that's gonna keep me strong enough

to stay in this competition.

I don't got time for sitting around.

This is the final four.

The toughest people in Last One Standing are here.

And I came into this competition brimming with confidence.

I came into this competition bragging, talking [bleep].

And you know what? I'm still talking [bleep].

Oh, wow.

This one's fresh as hell.

This could mean I get on the hog today.

It's first day in the new location,

and I'm trying to figure out

how to thrive in this new environment.

Today is a day of going out,

learning this landscape as fast as I can

because we are about to be going into crunch time.

It's been about ten days since I got the last pig.

And it's gone now.

I'm the only person that's gotten a big game

because it is very, very difficult.

I've also always been able

to essentially see the invisible, do the impossible.

And all I care about is winning this competition.

Oh, my tummy just growled.

I know I've lost weight out here.

I know I've lost stamina.

I can feel it in my bones and my muscles.

This challenge has been wearing on all of us.

Man, if I could bring a bunch of these home with me...

My mind goes to black currant muffins,

black currant pancakes, black currant lemonade.

You have to dig real deep and push through the pain.

That's gonna show everybody else here that I'm a strong competitor.

All right, just a few more berries

and I'm gonna go slice some fish.

The fishing asset is huge.

Fish are a guaranteed food source out here

that's gonna keep me in the game.

This is a new area, and I want to go catch some big fish.

I know I need some big water.

Just gotta find a good game trail to get me down

to the water.

Wow.

Now, this is a fishing hole.

This is great.

I gotta find that spot. I need to be able to cast.

I need to be careful

because there are freshwater crocodiles in this spot,

and I've been keeping my distance,

and I'd like to keep it that way.

Freshwater crocodiles are ambush predators

capable of holding their breath

and remaining unseen in knee-deep water

for up to eight hours.

Crocs pull their prey underwater

to drown in a death roll.

All right. I guess this is where I'm gonna start.

Whoa! They're jumping right here.

Whenever you're hunting in a new spot,

it's always exciting.

This is the first time on this entire challenge

I've seen deer, but they are spooky.

And to get within archer range is tough,

but I'm sneaking up

and I get to 45 yards from these deer,

just when I notice a little black hump in the grass.

And that hump is moving, there's pig.

And then I see another pig and another pig,

and I realize that I am in the midst

of a bunch of pigs emerging from the grass.

The deer, they're still 45 yards away.

But now the pigs are coming closer.

The closer they got, my heart started racing

and I knew this was gonna be go-time.

2

Pigs are coming closer.

My heart started racing, and I knew this was gonna be go-time.

Second shot.

A security measure

just in case he decided to jump up into super thick brush out here,

I delivered a spine shot to drop him in the tracks.

Savage strikes again!

It's pig protein, baby.

Oh, my God.

Look at this beautiful pig.

Thank you, buddy.

Thank you.

Never give up, people, never give up.

That's the second, now, big game animal I've taken,

and it's also the only two big game animals

that have been taken on this entire challenge.

I have solidified amongst my other peers here

that what they thought might be a myth

is definitely an actual legend.

This pig is going to absolutely be my fuel for the next week,

and it's going to fuel me

to hopefully be the last one standing.

Right now,

uh, Cheeny, Darrin and Patrick,

they're hungry, they're weak,

and I have the bacon.

Do I share it?

I don't know yet.

Right now, a protein score would be huge.

Seeing a lot of good signs,

a lot of hog tracks.

You know, Matt is the best hunter of Naked and Afraid,

but if I want to start playing this game my way,

I have to be able to support and feed myself

so that I don't have to worry about anyone else.

Right now I see some hogs pretty far away in the open grass.

If I can trap them between being in the grass

and up in the trees, I might get a shot.

Typically, I would not chase hogs.

That's just gonna drive them out of the area.

But it's late in this competition, and I need a protein.

I need it today.

They went into this maze of rubber vines,

so thick and hard to get through.

Ah...

All that energy just went to waste.

That hog would've kept me fed

until the end of this challenge.

Australia got one up on me this time.

Well, I went out for a good hunt this morning,

but, uh, I wasn't successful hunting.

My body's weak and starved,

so, uh, I'll just keep at it until I get something out here.

It'll probably take a couple of casts until I get something,

because when I keep plopping, making noise,

that attracts the fish.

For me, the heat's on.

The hardest challenges are saved for the end

because it's saved for the hardest people.

Everything's on the line here.

My place in this competition,

whether I'm eating tonight or not.

This is a big fishing hole.

This is awesome.

Who knows what I'll catch.

The only girl left in this challenge.

It just kind of sucks for me

because I feel like I have so much weight on my shoulders.

But if I can get fish every day for myself, I can go far.

There's been so many hurdles that I've gotten past,

and it just... Like, I'm here.

Yes!

Oh, nice. That's a good one.

Hear them grunting?

That's why they call them sooty grunters.

They go...

They groan like a little bear.

Now, this is the fish

that I want to be catching out here.

This is a huge fish.

I need the energy.

I need the protein, the fat,

and this is a start.

Plop.

Wow, this is another big one. I can just tell.

Big city!

Holy [bleep]! This one's bigger than the first one.

I came here to compete against the best to see if I am the best,

and I'm doing my best, trying to be the best.

So I'm just gonna keep doing that,

and then maybe I'll be the best.

That's my strategy so I can keep competing.

I expended a lot of energy on this hunt today.

And I'd, uh...

over-exerted myself a little bit.

I don't usually feel this slow,

but...

but I gotta...

I gotta keep pushing, gotta keep trying.

So, now all I can do is take this fishing asset,

try to score some meat,

try to recoup my energy.

My dad used to say,

"Bad day fishing is better than a good day working."

Thanks, Dad.

At this point, I've been walking for quite a while,

but a few hundred more yards.

I am at camp.

Got to bring home the bacon today.

So I could bring home the bacon as the Last One Standing.

It's a...

What better way to prepare to carry $100,000

than to carry this heavy-ass pig?

Here we go.

Journey's complete.

On the last challenge, I picked the smaller knife,

not just to do detail work and survival,

because that's important,

but also because I kind of knew I was getting a pig.

I knew I was gonna get something

that I might need to cut the heart out of.

And...

Well...

...that I did.

Get this beautiful liver out of here.

I wish I put on more fat before starting this challenge

because now I've gotten to the point

where I'm definitely

a lot weaker from not eating.

Do I take this pig and share the remaining three survivalists

that are right now starving.

They're right now hungry, getting lightheaded.

Do I need to fuel my opponents?

That might beat me to be the Last One Standing.

I don't...

I don't think my brain's functioning.

Uh...

Um...

hundred percent right now.

2 I should... I should probably...

I should probably head back to camp.

I should probably get some... get some water.

I definitely think

I need to rest for a bit.

Yeah, man, sit down.

Yeah.

I'm like, I'm exhausted, so I'm gonna sit and chill.

That's probably the smartest thing to do

- now that we're final-four. - Yeah.

I definitely feel it today.

There is no other Naked and Afraid survivalist out here

that's earned the title of Last One Standing more than myself.

I have the most days.

I have the most big moments.

But that Last One Standing,

that check mark is still not done yet.

But over this challenge, I have wanted my competitors

to be fierce and at their best, at their strongest.

So I'm gonna take this right here,

and I'm gonna feed some of the toughest survivalists on the planet.

Savage meatery...

in business.

It's a crazy strategy to feed your competitors,

but we'll stand toe-to-toe

and find out who's the best.

Okay.

Cheeny looks like she's out fishing,

so I'm gonna go get Darrin or Patrick,

and I'm gonna play a little prank on 'em.

Yo.

Hey, what's up?

- Hey. - How you doing?

Yeah, I just wanna see if you wanna help me get some of these figs

out of a tree.

- Oh, yeah, dude. - Oh, wow.

- Where did you find those? - They're right on the other side of the camp.

- Damn. - Looks like a pretty good one.

- Yeah, let the flies out. - Let the flies out.

But the, uh... Just see if you wanna swing up

to our camp real quick before the birds get them all.

Yeah.

Yeah, you're gonna be excited to see this tree.

- This one's got at least 100 pounds of them. - Nice.

It's, uh... You're gonna like it.

These figs are amazing.

The one thing I don't have in my body right now is sugars.

They're gonna really help get me through the next couple days.

So what I did is I found a fig tree,

but then there was a pig tree, and there's a [bleep] pig.

Oh!

Yeah!

Yeah, dude.

You got a pig.

Oh, yeah.

- Yeah, man. - Yeah.

It's crazy. He's just sitting there. Just hanging out there.

Hell yeah, dude.

We've been running out of calories,

and now we got a pig. Thanks to Matt.

- Hell yeah, man. - Whoo!

- Has Cheeny seen it yet? - No, she hasn't been back yet.

Oh, man. She's gonna be excited.

- Hell yeah, dude. - Yeah.

I've stolen items. I [bleep] talked to people.

I've manipulated people out of this competition,

and I'm still getting fed.

Oh, that was fun.

I was excited about my little fig-pig trick.

It was pretty good. You got us.

Well, as hard as it's been to find figs,

it's been actually

- almost harder to find figs than pigs. - Yeah.

- I've seen more pigs than right pigs so far. - Yeah.

It's a...

- This is gonna strengthen us all. - Yeah.

- And then... - This is our final push.

- Yeah. - May the best...

May the best win, not the best, you know, fed.

Yeah.

I'm glad you didn't go home Day One.

Me too.

Hey, Cheeny.

Why are you guys cooking on the other side of the river?

I see. You got some nice bigguns.

- Yeah, I caught some big fish. - Heck yeah. Well, how about the--

Do you like the idea of surf and turf?

- You got a pig? - Got a piggy!

Oh, my God.

I squeal like a little pig,

because what do I see hanging? A little pig.

Oh, my God.

It's like the day just keeps getting better.

These are monsters.

- Dude, I know, right? - That's the biggest ones I've seen yet, I think.

I-- Yeah, I concur.

That girl is an absolute war horse.

Even if there was no pig hanging,

that would be a meal that would be hard to finish.

- Come on over, we got some snacks. - I can't believe this.

We are going to be feasting into the night.

Maybe a chunkaroo off the end there.

Oh, it's [bleep] tender.

Perfect. Well, there you go.

- I'll grab that one if you don't want it. - No.

- Cheers, guys. - Cheers.

Cheers.

Yeah.

See, this is why you stay in the game.

Exactly.

If I wasn't confident

that I could beat the others at their best,

I wouldn't be wanting to feed them.

Because I would want them to be weak.

I'd want them to be tired.

Hell, they were darn near starving until today.

Dude, this is cooked perfectly.

Mmm.

After my hunt, I was dizzy, I was woozy.

I didn't know what was going on.

I was not myself.

And for a little bit today,

I almost couldn't take it anymore.

Now I feel 100% again.

Right now, I have a bunch of salt and I just got a pig.

So I made a brine. I soaked some jerky strips in it.

I'm hanging those up for jerky.

Next, I'm taking a pot.

I'm putting the head, some of the roast in there,

and I'm putting a bunch of salt.

First stew pot is actually going to be

just get a regular stew with a little bit of salt.

Second stew pot that we make for ourselves,

because they're going to have their own meat to do what they'd like,

we're going to do a whole bunch of salt.

So, it'll actually be quite salt brined and it should last a few days.

Out here, every day matters.

And with that salt and this pork,

it's making every day bon appetit,

savage meatery, open for business.

Yep.

Right now, Darrin and I are processing

the legs of the hog that Matt gave us,

getting ready to preserve it

so that we have jerky, baby.

Pork strips.

And hopefully that'll be enough food

to last us through the end of this challenge.

Looks like it's about to start pouring.

We got to make sure that we have enough firewood going

so the flames don't go out.

Protect our ferro rods and our assets that we have out here.

And we have jerky on the fire.

We got to do our best to protect it.

We have no idea how long this rain is going to last.

We're just going to try to make it through this night.

I hear either wind or heavier rains.

It's cold rain.

The rain's moving in.

I'm freezing.

So we got to keep this fire going.

We don't have any shelter

or even really have any kind of tree above us right now to block the rain.

So our plan is to use our paper bark

for a shelter...

I got to collect the firewood all night tonight

and stoke the fire all night tonight.

This is hypothermia weather.

Yeah.

It is so cold.

2 This has been a long, hard, stressful night.

I got the firewood.

I know I'm tired.

You know, I can feel it in my bones and my muscles.

You don't sleep. You fall apart.

Rain, you can piss off for now. We don't really need you.

We got to make sure that we have enough firewood going

so the flames don't go out.

We got to do our best to protect the meat jerky.

We have no idea how long this rain is going to last...

Darren and I have had to keep feeding the fire,

trying to keep it as dry as possible.

It took a lot more wood than we expected,

so we had to gather wood in the middle of the night.

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night.

- Meat looks good. - Yep.

Do you want to wrap around the meat?

Yeah, we can do that.

I don't want all our meat to go bad.

Yep. Yeah, we'll take care of that.

It's been raining since last night,

so we'rejust going to put a little cover on it.

Oh, yeah.

This is a huge protein source for me,

and I don't want this to spoil.

It's been raining.

Everything is soaking wet and cold.

There's like a rat's nest of fire material

over here from some past flood.

I'm gonna grab a couple pieces.

Oh, Matt.

- Yep. - You got some scrolls.

Oh.

What is this?

Oh.

Proceed to the map with your ferro rod.

- Ooh. - We could be losing our fire starter.

We got some type of fire challenge today.

We could be the last of our fire rod today.

It may not even be a fire challenge,

but it could be something at taking all our fire rods.

Wouldn't that be something?

Any type of fire challenge, we got a ferro rod with us, makes it a lot easier.

- Yeah. - It's not the bow drill yet.

- Unless... - You never know with these challenges.

It's so late in the game, yeah.

This is troublesome.

If we have to give up that ferro rod,

which is our main source of starting fire,

that could make things a lot more difficult out here.

Ferro rod?

Check.

Many, many scenarios running through my brain right now.

Maybe today's the day that I have to do primitive fire.

Literally, couldn't pick a worse day.

I don't know what this challenge has in store.

I don't know what the prize is.

I don't know what the risk of losing is.

We could win survival items. We could win food.

Loser could go to elimination.

It's anybody's guess.

We'll head down towards that area and see what happens.

- Meat looks good. - Cool. Let's go.

- Let's do this. - Let's go.

Today's cold, cold, cold and wet.

This is a recipe for disaster.

I have a condition called Raynaud's,

which affects your circulation,

and it affects me big time in this weather.

My feet have been cold.

My last three outer toes have been numb.

That was the coldest part of my body last night,

besides my ass or my feet.

My concern is the longer I'm out here exposed

to these cold, wet conditions,

it's gonna slow me down today. It's gonna be detrimental.

My hand's gonna stop working.

I'll lose dexterity.

They'll literally curl up into a fist,

and I won't be able to move my fingers at all.

In this weather right now, cold, wet weather

is the number one trigger for Raynaud's.

Today, you will dig a seep well, and build a rocket stove.

Today's multi-phase advanced skills challenge

begins with digging a seep well,

which naturally purifies groundwater

as it seeps through the earth.

Okay.

Once each competitor's well fills with water,

they are clear to move on to phase two:

rocket stove construction.

Rocket stoves are compact, fuel-efficient furnaces

that are a staple of primitive survival.

I've got a lot of catching up to do on hydration.

This is putting me back in the game.

For this competition,

the rocket stove will be constructed by digging a tunnel

with a 90-degree angle through the earth and out through a vent.

A fire is then created at the open base,

allowing air to be drafted in and flow through the chimney above.

That air draft creates an intensely hot flame,

which focuses heat into a narrow opening up top,

where a pot can be placed,

allowing water to be boiled faster than on a conventional fire.

As the flames are sucked into the burn tunnel,

a well-constructed stove will create a rocket-like roar,

which is where the hard-working stove earned its name.

I've never built a rocket stove.

I've seen plenty of pictures and diagrams of it.

I'm just gonna have to wing it when it comes time to build it.

And that's survival.

When you need something, you've got to figure it out,

and you've got to figure it out quick.

The first to successfully dig a seep well,

build their stove, make fire,

and bring their water to a rolling boil,

will have first choice of survival assets.

A shovel, a knife, or paracord.

- Ooh, nice. - Nice.

By my math,

there's probably one or two more competitions

to the friction fire challenge.

And paracord, I can use to make a bow

to be able to have an advantage,

because this final-four is so tough.

Second place gets choice of the remaining two assets,

while third gets the final asset.

The first three finishers also receive yabbies,

high-protein Australian freshwater crustaceans.

Okay, that's not bad.

Fourth will earn no asset.

Your challenge starts now.

This weather right now is the perfect recipe

for big Raynaud's flare-up.

My hands are gonna go numb,

they'll curl up, and I'll have zero dexterity.

This is my personal hell, and it sucks.

2 Your challenge starts now.

Let's go!

For this rocket stove challenge,

the first to dig a seep well, build a rocket stove,

and boil their pot of water

will win their choice of key survival assets

and a protein score.

I've dug a lot of seepwells,

so I feel confident going in that this is a skill set I know.

And at this point, I just need to make sure

that I try to do it as fast as possible.

It is cold, and it is raining.

I'm thinking, my [bleep] circulation.

This is gonna slow me down today,

so I run right for the furthest seep well,

and I just start digging.

I dig my hole really quickly.

I'm not trying to get a huge, big well.

All I need to do is fill this small pot.

Now it's time for me to go and find a location

to start making my rocket stove.

In these challenges, I focus on me and me alone.

I don't care what other competitors are doing.

I only focus on myself, and that way,

I'm not wasting even a second on someone else.

I can hear the guys behind me already running to the bank.

I'm not worried about them at this point.

All I have to do, I just fill my water pot

and I'm just taking my time

because if I run with this pot right now,

water is going to splash over the sides.

I'm gonna lose water.

In a challenge like this,

a couple of items that you earn now

could come in huge later on.

So every second of this competition is a tough one

because we want to be able to get those survival assets.

Now, time to find some rocket-stove material.

Oh, my God.

I'm behind everybody making this rocket stove.

I gotta make up some serious time.

For this challenge,

the competitors are creating traditional Australian rocket stoves

by digging into the side of a hill

and creating a tunnel with a 90-degree turn to the surface.

That creates a chimney through which the extreme heat passes

and comes out the top of the vent,

hot enough to boil water.

Digging the chimney for my rocket stove.

For me, it's important to get a good chimney.

That's gonna help me boil water the fastest.

I hope I have a chimney with enough width

to really get my flames and heat to my pot.

I've never built one like this,

but I have built them before.

But this is not usually a race kind of thing.

The one thing that I can slay

every person in this competition with is speed.

Speed, agility and stamina

are my biggest strengths out here.

I'm just digging this rock still, man.

Make sure I got a nice flat spot for a pot on top.

I'm super confident. I've done this before.

I know what I'm doing.

So I just wanted a flat face on that wall

that I don't have to dig my chimney too deep.

Because if you can't keep that rocket stove drafting,

it's going to take forever to get that water to boil.

I'm making the vent first.

We need to find a couple of good digging sticks.

I see a lot of people using their knives.

I don't want to use one of my vital tools

and destroy it while digging through rocks.

That's a good digging stick.

But what I know I can do is I can make a tool.

I use my knife. I find a fire-hardened stick from a forest fire.

I sharpen it up real quick, and I just made myself a digging tool.

I pick a spot on the side of this hill,

and I start working to get that rocket stove dug in.

This ground's super [bleep] hard.

Start digging down.

Start making the chimney.

That pot can sit up here.

- Come on. - Choose a good side. Yep.

So let's start digging the chimney.

The competitors have chosen two opposing strategies

for digging the rocket stoves' chimney and vent construction.

While Patrick and Darrin are using the top of the hill

as a flat surface to boil water,

Matt and Cheeny have chosen to create a shelf inside the hill for theirs.

While this way takes more energy and time to construct,

it could protect the pot from the wind and rain,

potentially leading to a quicker boil.

Got my rocket stove built fast.

Now, I got to be as fast as possible.

It's been raining since last night, into the morning non-stop.

I'm just hoping I can find something dry.

This is gonna be the most difficult part today.

Oh, [bleep].

Dig, dig, dig, dig.

I've built fires my whole life all over the world,

but doing a fire in the rain in a hurry

is always a challenge in itself.

I gotta be as fast as possible

because winning this competition

is not only gonna get me food, but a great asset, I believe,

that could help me become the last one standing.

If I wasn't full of confidence,

brimming with confidence, overflowing with confidence,

then I would have been one of those people that [bleep] quit,

but I'm not. I'm just getting tougher.

I dig down, and then I join the two holes.

So now I need to start getting ready for a fire.

Patrick has completed phase two, rocket-stove construction,

and joins Darrin as the only two competitors

who have progressed to the next phase, fire-making.

My tinder bundle is paperbark with leaves and pine needles.

My materials aren't wet.

I brought this from camp.

Hopefully that gives me an advantage

over some of my opponents right now.

Got to put this pot on it.

Got to make sure this pot fits on there pretty solid.

It does.

Okay.

I now have the stove complete.

Now, I'm gonna go make a fire.

As soon as I get this rocket stove set up,

I know there's not a great spot to set a fire there.

But also, because it is raining,

I want to go under some shelter, start a fire.

Fire, just like us, it needs a shelter.

This stuff's gonna be nice and dry,

but it's still kind of damp.

I need to make sure that that fire gets going,

and then I can transfer that fire to my rocket stove once it's all set up.

Come on.

My hands are shaking.

It's cold, it's windy.

This is my personal hell.

I don't want it to collapse.

I need to dig it deep enough.

I can feel my hands starting to get cramps.

Oh, that's--

That's bad.

The longer I'm out here exposed to these conditions...

I just gotta keep going.

Keep going, keep going.

...my hands, I'll lose dexterity,

and I won't be able to move my fingers at all.

And if that happens, I am screwed.

Oh, man. This ground's [bleep] hard.

2 It's been raining for quite a while.

Getting the fire started.

This is going to be the most difficult part today.

In this rocket-stove challenge,

the first competitor to boil a pot of water

will have their choice of survival assets,

including paracord.

Now, I'm gonna go make a fire.

While Darrin, Patrick and Matt have completed their chimney...

Come on.

...and moved on to starting their fire...

My hands are wet.

It's got my tinder a little bit wetter.

...Cheeny lags behind in phase two,

as she fights through the cold, wet conditions.

My hands are shaking.

I'm just like, dude, I just gotta go like a bat out of hell right now

because my only source of heat is my internal combustion.

I've come too far to let rain take me out of this challenge.

Dig, dig, dig.

This is where strength comes into play for the guys,

but I don't let that get to me.

I'm the last female here,

and it's a big responsibility.

I don't take it lightly.

Keep going, keep going.

So I start with the vent, and then I do a little bit of the chimney.

And I'm just going back and forth

to vent and chimney, vent and chimney, until they connect.

I want to get the stove right.

I gotta make this hole bigger,

I gotta make this vent bigger.

The struggle today is to get your fire started.

I've had a couple of flickers,

but the driest tinder we can find today is wet.

I got a wad of grass from underneath the overhanging bank.

Still a little damp.

And a strip of paperbark.

Come on, buddy.

Come on, buddy.

Get my fire started

and see if I can keep it going.

- Attaboy. - Darrin's got smoke,

so I gotta hurry.

I'm having trouble getting this lit.

I'm gonna try using a bunch of jute,

try to find some dry pieces.

This will maybe give me an advantage.

Doing this in the rain isn't easy.

We're close. Come on, come on, come on, come on.

Come on.

Get that, get that.

Starting fire out here is tough.

Come on. Come on now.

Come on.

It might be taking a few minutes longer,

but I feel confident that if it were to downpour right now,

I would be the only one with fire.

I am the last person digging.

Just because you're last doesn't mean you should give up.

All right, let's go.

I gotta get a fire going.

Now I need to start getting a fire going.

A wet-conditions fire is a hard thing to do.

And if anybody here has experience with that out here, it is me.

I have been trained for years on wet-conditions fire.

That was the number one thing that we focused on in SERE training,

so I know that's where I'm going to make up time.

And I'm going further than everybody else.

I found this perfect little overhanging root buttress

that had all kinds of dead, dried debris

lodged up in it from the past flood.

They were bone dry.

This is make or break it right now.

Got my fire starting.

Now, I'll start the boiling.

I'm the first person to get my pot of water on top.

Right now, I'm feeling pretty good.

I got to be careful not to smother my flames.

My strategy is just to keep this fire going, keep blowing it.

Before long, my pot will be boiling.

Darrin and I are neck and neck.

It looks like it could be Darrin or I that takes first place.

I want to have a good, strong flame

that's not gonna go out.

And then I will start putting my water pot on.

I like what I'm seeing.

We're getting some flames licking up here.

When I get my fire going,

I set two sticks above at the top of my chimney to set my pot on top of.

I don't want that pot to plug up my chimney.

Now, I know from doing this before

we need to keep an air gap up here to keep venting.

The rocket stove needs to be drafting properly.

I want to keep that air moving

and those flames rising,

so it has to be able to pull air through itself to keep burning.

I just got to keep this fire fed.

Let's go.

Okay.

Oh, come on, you son of a bitch!

Come on. Okay.

Come on, come on.

Put a coal right here.

It's working so far, so good.

It's keeping that weather off of it.

I get a fire going,

and it's underneath this little ball of grass,

so the fire is protected.

There's no use moving it yet

until it's, kind of, ready to go.

Perfect. This is all dry.

I have to make up time on this fire,

and I know these dry materials,

that's what's gonna save me time.

Come on, baby.

If it's good and dry, it's gonna go up so fast,

and it's gonna be so much hotter

than anything that's got any dampness to it.

A wet-conditions fire

is a make-or-break situation for any survivalist.

It takes a couple of tries.

There we go.

But it lights, like, sweet. This is perfect.

I get my very, very, very small, small, small, dry stuff on top.

Get this going.

There, I just got my fire--

Fire going.

I made my fire in a separate location.

I'm gonna take this fire, I'm gonna ease it in there.

I've burned myself before,

I'm not about to burn myself again.

I burned my hand on day one.

Oh, that's hot.

I actually screwed up transferring my fire.

And this time, I need to be careful.

I transfer it over,

and I started in my rocket stove.

But putting the fire in place

when I had no way to really perch myself is definitely a detriment.

That fire is trying to roll down the hill.

I'm rolling down the hill.

Screwed myself on where I placed this

'cause it's very hard to get myself up this hill to get in position.

I'm paying the consequence.

And I have nothing to do at this point, but just fight through it.

I have an actual bed of coals I'm moving in.

It, uh--

That bed of coals is huge.

At this time, I see all the other guys,

and I understand that I am behind.

The most important part of a rocket stove is good air flow,

which I'm supplementing right now with extra air.

I do a lot of snorkeling,

I do a lot of spear fishing and free diving.

It means I have a great lung capacity.

I am just forcing the air into my sticks,

and coming right up onto my pot.

You want us to suck air in at the bottom

and pull the flame out the top.

It should be pulling fire into itself.

And you feed little feeder sticks down your chimney

so that it gets that flame up higher,

and that way, it keeps drafting.

The first competitor

to bring their pot of water to a rolling boil

will win their choice of asset

as well as eight yabbies.

Darrin and Patrick have begun heating their water...

...while Matt and Cheeny have fire,

but have yet to set their pots on their stoves to boil.

I know I'm behind, so I cannot afford to lose a second.

And, you know, I get the pot on there.

Boil, you son of a bitch.

I get a nice, big, hot, cold base.

And I'm just blowing on it with everything I've got.

Ooh, it's face-melting hot.

Singeing my eyebrow hairs off.

I'm melting my face.

yeah, dude. I'm ahead of Matt Wright.

I'm ahead of Matt.

I can't tell if I'm ahead of Darrin yet or not

because he got smoke first.

Patrick's, kind of, getting some smoke.

But all I know is I'm right back in the middle of the pack at least.

I need a big fire.

I need heat, man.

I got to get this thing boiling.

At this point, I'm trying to catch up.

You need air to vent through this vent

and up there, out of the top.

I'm on the side of this hill, and I keep sliding back.

I can't stay up on the rocket stove

to actually blow into it, to feed sticks.

I'm falling down.

So I have to prop myself, sort of, over the top of this hole.

If I get my big ass out of the hole here,

it, uh--

More-- More wind will actually get in there.

My water is dancing in the pot.

It's probably halfway there right now.

I'm getting some smoke, but it doesn't feel right,

when you can get flames whipping out of the top chimney on these things,

if you do it right.

The coals filled up at the back and plugged up my chimney.

Now you've just stopped your flow of oxygen and plugged your fire up.

And if you can't keep that rocket stove drafting out,

it's going to take forever to get that water to boil.

Going up, she's drafting again.

Now we're cooking with fire.

We had a little coal plug in there.

Getting as much highly flammable

stuff in here the better.

I see my pot steaming. This is all a great sign.

I'm blowing, the flames are coming through,

my water is steaming,

but the competition's starting to catch up to me.

Right now, I hear my opponents saying that they're close.

That has me nervous.

I can see the flames shooting up through the chimney.

The water's starting to swirl.

I can't tell if I'm ahead of Darrin yet or not

because he got smoke first.

Mine is getting close.

I want that paracord.

I have got to come in first place on this one.

Come on!

2 This is hot right here.

This is hot, this is smoky.

All competitors are at the final stage

in a rocket-stove challenge.

I hear my opponents saying that they're close.

The first to boil their pot of water wins their choice of asset,

which could be critical in future challenges.

I am burning wood as fast as I can burn wood.

Matt and Patrick have fallen behind,

as Darrin and Cheeny race to bring their water to a rolling boil.

Come on!

I think I'm ahead.

Minutes away from starting to boil.

I'm shoving sticks down through the top hole,

just keeping it fed and making sure the coals

don't build up at the back and choke it out.

Mine is getting close.

The water's starting to swirl.

I'm just blowing on this fire.

The coals are flaming red hot, my face is melting.

Come on!

And I'm just like, "All right, man, I've got this."

It's bubbling on the sides.

And next thing I know, I have a rolling boil.

Holy [bleep].

Whoo!

I'm the queen of the jungle.

Sounds like Cheeny just finished.

She's got it.

Yes!

Today, the big dogs got beat by a cat.

And I'm just so stoked.

hear me meow.

And I let myself roar.

God damn it.

I'm so [bleep] proud of myself right now.

It's a big win.

Size, strength, muscle speed,

that's part of it out here, but it's not all of it.

It's not what's in here,

it's what's in here sometimes.

I have so much fight in me right now.

I don't think I've ever had a spark like this inside of me before.

I want to be here till the very end.

Oh, I want to win.

Whoo!

yeah, dude!

Ain't gonna be first today, but I still might be second.

My water's just starting to boil when Cheeny finishes.

And I just give it a few extra seconds

to go to a full rolling boil, and I'm done.

Man, second place today,

like, right on Cheeny's heels.

I get second choice of an item.

And I am stoked.

As second-place finisher,

Darrin also wins four yabbies.

- Ooh, we got lobster for dinner. - Yeah, we do, boy.

- Much better surf and turf than yesterday. - I know.

I'm well fed, and I'm strong right now,

and I'm feeling great going forward.

Five-star restaurant type [bleep].

- Hell, yeah. - Yeah.

It's you and I, Patrick.

This is not an elimination challenge,

but you wouldn't want to be the last.

There is only one asset left.

But guess who's next to me?

Matt Wright, the legend himself.

If I beat Matt to this,

I'm definitely the legend slayer.

We've had a lot of food thanks to Matt.

We're out here competing at our best.

That's why I might beat him in this competition.

Sounds like he's choking,

which is always a good sign.

I wouldn't even have competitors

on this challenge right now

if I didn't feed him.

And I am starting to think

that I have made a mistake.

At this point,

Patrick has so much hot air in him

that he's bound to have an advantage.

My pot's been steaming for a while.

That worries me.

I don't think I have a rocket stove

with enough girth

to really get my flames and heat to my pot.

Gotta get more of this flame into the hole.

At this point, that water is close,

real close.

If I could keep my big ass out of my draft hole,

things would be going better.

I see the fire die and start to come backwards.

When it's doing that,

it means it's not sucking enough air through that hole.

Doing the best I can here,

trying to stay out of the hole's draft.

As the biggest guy out here,

I have a spot on the side of this hill

that is absolutely the wrong choice of spot.

I made a vital mistake.

Because I have no way to get to the side...

- Come on. - ...to let the wind do its work.

It's like right there.

But it's not quite ready.

I smell fear on Matt Wright.

That's always a good sign.

My water's sizzling.

Matt's is getting closer.

It is cherry red in there.

I just got to keep focusing on getting my pot boiling.

I see it boiling, but it's not a rolling boil.

I need more flame, more heat.

Trying to get some good tinder in there.

I'm going to start feeding my fire

through the chimney.

And that is going to get

these huge flames coming up

and getting into my pot.

Okay, we got draft back up top.

Come on, water.

It has to...

It's bubbling in seconds. It's like...

It's...

Now I got a good boil.

I just got to keep it going.

I want the whole thing to be nice and boiling.

Right now,

it's never over till it's over.

Patrick and I are getting

a hell of a good push out of this.

I got some great flames,

great bubbles.

This is looking good.

I just got to keep it going.

Right now, my pot is out of rolling boil.

I think I just beat Matt Wright.

I feel really good.

I came in third place.

I'm going to get food.

I beat Matt.

For this particular challenge,

it's a wash.

If it had been an elimination competition,

Matt Wright would have been going home.

What's up, you rocket stove sons of bitches?

With his fourth place finish,

Matt will not receive a survival asset

or yabby food cache.

What are you guys going to go for?

Well, I think I get first dibs.

- You do. - Since Cheeny finished first,

she will pick between a shovel,

a hunting knife,

and a 20-foot bundle of paracord.

Darrin will pick second,

and Patrick will get the remaining item.

- What are you taking? - The shovel.

- Oh. - Shovel. Oh!

Psych.

I've got paracord.

I'm the only person here with it.

Someone's thinking about friction fire.

Always thinking about friction fire.

If there's a friction fire challenge,

I have now secured my spot with bow drill.

I got the missing piece.

I got the cordage.

- Put that in there for later. - Awesome.

That's my guaranteed spot

for Last One Standing.

You're up, Darrin.

Yeah, I'll take the shovel.

That shovel might be there for a reason.

Last year, there was a digging challenge,

and one person had a shovel.

This shovel is actually proving really useful

for getting the hot rock.

The shovel might come in handy.

Looks like I've got a knife.

I'm feeling pretty bummed.

I got a knife as an asset,

but Cheeny has that paracord.

It's going to give her a big advantage

in this competition.

She is a force to be reckoned with.

- I'm going to get some yabbies. - All right.

- All right. - The top three finishers also receive

a cache of yabbies...

Girl from Maine knows how to pick a lobster.

... with Cheeny getting eight,

Darrin four,

and Patrick two.

We also got hog.

- Thanks to you. - Yeah.

Yeah, thanks, man.

Yesterday, I fed every one of them.

If I didn't feed them,

they may not have had enough energy

to even dig a hole today.

I want my competitors to be strong,

and they are strong.

But I am not too cocky to admit

that my strategy is making me nervous.

- Let's get some lobster in the belly. - Yeah.

Let's rock and roll.

I am pooped.

- That was a lot of work. - Yeah.

- You kicked some serious butt. - Uh.

Thanks, man.

With lobsters on the line,

you never know what a Maine girl is going to do

to get a taste of home.

Ooh, look at those.

Yum.

They call them yabbies here,

but they look like little half-pound lobsters.

Each yabby provides 16 grams of protein.

It is also a good source of magnesium,

which helps muscles repair and recover

after strenuous activity.

This girl absolutely destroyed

that challenge today.

She might literally be on fire,

because she made a rocket stove...

...like a [bleep] rocket.

Cheeny is without a doubt a threat on this challenge.

Wow.

She's a contender. She's tough, and she's fast.

That makes her dangerous.

You just showed to the world

you might be winning this bitch.

Wouldn't that be something?

The last three girls tapped,

saying they couldn't compete with the guys.

And Cheeny decided to stay.

And she just proved today that she can beat us.

[bleep] scary for us.

You never give up.

Anything can happen.

It's good to show

anyone can be the Last One Standing

- out here. - Mm-hmm.

Depends on the challenge.

There's a reason why we're the final four.

Yep.

We can start focusing on friction fire.

Yep.

Having a morning hunt.

We are at a nice fig tree.

Little figs everywhere.

We gathered a couple pounds of figs.

I mean, that's bunches of sugars.

We only got a few days left.

We still got jerky.

We got fish.

I've got plenty of food stashed.

And no matter what tomorrow brings,

I am ready.

I see some scrolls.

Let's see what we have here.

We've got some scrolls in our skull.

Tomorrow, you will need to proceed to the area

with your assets...

To secure a spot in the next zone,

prepare for some friction.

Ooh.

Friction fire.

Tomorrow, friction fire, it looks like,

is going to be the deciding factor yet again

in Last One Standing.

Come on. Primitive friction fire is

a traditional method of starting fire

using natural materials

and no modern tools.

I just can't do it anymore.

Friction fire is the hardest challenge

in Last One Standing.

It takes more competitors out in one elimination

than any other elimination challenge.

The word friction to me

is things are going to get hot.

And when they get hot,

that's going to send me up like a rocket

to the Last One Standing.

This is that challenge

- that literally drops people. - This is what separates the men from the boys,

the girls from the women.

This is it.

2 Prepare for some friction.

That means we're doing some friction fire.

It takes more competitors out in one elimination

than any other elimination challenge.

That's what took Patrick out

- last year. - Yep. That is.

Friction fire eliminations.

Saw this one coming.

This is the moment we all knew was coming,

especially me after getting eliminated

for friction fire last year.

I learned

to make your friction fire kit before you go in.

Try a hand drill for a little bit

until I can find a different bow, maybe.

So over the course of this Last One Standing,

I've been collecting the materials that I need

to make a great bow drill kit.

I got some sockets for my bow drill kit.

Fits right in this little hole

in the bone.

And...

that's going to keep the spinning.

I got to take advantage of every resource

I find around me.

Otherwise,

I'm not going to win this competition.

I'm just looking at this tree,

checking it out.

It's a fig tree.

Always got to look at different woods

and things while you're...

while you're out in survival, and...

fig tree is some interesting...

interesting wood. It's often hollow on the inside.

I'm no stranger to friction fire.

I teach people friction fire for a living.

And I have made hundreds and hundreds of friction fire

with bow drill, hand drill.

The two most practical methods

for obtaining friction fire

are hand drills and bow drills.

Um, you know, I've done all these survival things

throughout the world. And...

every place is different.

So I'm going to be looking for some of the tree limbs

that I might be able to get a proper bow drill kit.

It's a medium weight wood.

It's not hardwood. It's not super soft.

But the only way to really understand what you can use

is kind of experiment and play around.

I started practicing bow drill

I was nine years old in my parents' basement,

and I smoked the basement out so many times

learning bow drill

that my dad disconnected the smoke alarm

'cause he was sick of hearing it go off.

Learned a lot of lessons along the way,

and I've pushed myself many times

to do it under adverse conditions.

I have yet to find

perfect materials for friction fire out here.

But I know enough tricks to make

subpar materials work.

So I found this tree the other day.

I'm just coming back.

I think this might make

a great spindle

for a bow drill.

It's old, it's rotted a little bit, so it's softer.

'Cause it's normally a harder wood.

If I can carve it with my thumbnail like that,

that's kind of what I like for a bow drill.

Right now my confidence is as high as ever.

And a nice little flat fire board.

It's a little harder than I like usually, but...

we'll see what she can do.

So right now I'm looking for a particular plant

called pea bush.

This is a very harsh environment.

The trees here are very different.

Some of the woods are way too soft.

Some of the woods are way too hard.

This is pea bush.

The reason why pea bush is good for hand drill

is because it has a pithy center.

You see how it's kind of hollow?

That's what you want.

I need to find one that's as straight as possible.

It's soft, but it's not too soft.

I know that peabush is great for hand drill.

I'm surrounded by peabush.

Hand drill might be my only option.

These are a couple of different spindles that I found,

different diameters.

I'm just making a little fire board

for a hand drill.

I know hand drill is harder than bow drill.

Right now, hand drill is easier to acquire

than bow drill.

Yes, I'm the only person here that can do bow drill

with paracord.

But I'm also going to have many options

for friction fire,

as many as I can.

The nature of these bows,

without the right kind of tree,

sometimes you do have to make...

a few.

The bow drill, it uses a lot more leverage,

and you can spin a spindle faster.

It's going to stretch, so I'm... Ah.

Try not to do that.

But the bad part, without the right cordage,

you can spend a lot of time messing around with it.

Yep.

Thinner bow.

I only have a small little bit of natural cordage.

Oh, you son of a bitch.

I'm going to break cordage,

and I'm going to end up

losing the ability to have that cordage

on that particular challenge day.

That's why you want paracord.

I lost the last challenge.

I'd be lying if I didn't say it weighs a little heavy.

I feel like I'm better than that.

So...

it just means I have to do better.

I've got to keep fighting.

I've got to fight harder.

There's no way that I'm stopping

until I'm at that final challenge.

Goddang it.

2 Let's go.

For this competition,

the PSR,

or Primitive Survival Rating,

weighs in individuals' survival skills

and items collected

to determine the likelihood

of becoming the Last One Standing.

Matt took down

his second big kill in the Outback...

It's a pig protein, baby!

...and shared with his competitors.

It's a crazy strategy,

but to be the best,

you have to compete against other survivalists

at their best.

...and all three powered past him

- in the rocket stove challenge... -

For this particular challenge,

a wash.

...causing his PSR to drop from 9.8 to 9.7.

Mine is getting close.

Darrin used his primitive survival knowledge

to problem-solve his rocket stove.

You need to keep an air gap up here

to keep venting.

...and finished ahead of Matt and Patrick...

Man, second place today.

Like, I am stoked.

...earning him a valuable survival tool.

Shovel might come in handy.

His PSR rises from 9.5 to 9.6.

Big sooty!

Following her fishing success,

We are eating tonight.

...Cheeny used her primitive skills

and mental toughness

to make a worst-to-first comeback

and win the rocket stove challenge...

I'm the [bleep] Queen of the jungle!

...and a bundle of paracord,

a key asset for making a bow drill.

Someone's thinking about friction fire.

Always thinking about friction fire.

Her PSR jumps from 8.8 to 9.0.

Oh, you son of a bitch.

That's why you want paracord.

2

I have been working on this friction fire.

I've tried a couple different methods.

I haven't found the exact material.

This cord is slipping like crazy.

My cordage is natural cordage.

It tends to slip. It tends to fray.

It tends to break easy on a bow drill.

Damn it, man.

That's why you want paracord.

This is where Cheeny has

that large advantage right now

for a bow drill with paracord.

If you have paracord,

I would say always stick to the bow drill.

Cheeny had that paracord just sitting there,

and I personally would have practiced some bow drill.

That's what you want.

That's what you want.

I have a hand-drill set ready.

That's confidence.

I've already given it a test run.

The little bit that I did had success.

That's confidence.

Like, all the guys are trying to do bow drill,

and they don't really know what wood to use out here.

Hand-drill is something that actually eats up

your hands.

It's tougher.

But at this point, I'm going to make a hand-drill as well.

With this peabush,

I'd make a hand-drill fire in less than five minutes,

probably almost three minutes.

And at this point,

Cheeny and I both understand

how fast that fire was made at camp

and how easy it is to make the hand drill

with that material.

It's a gamble,

but I can spend

tons of time and energy

searching for the right bow drill stuff,

or...

I can use the peabush that's around me.

I think it will work quite well.

Going into this challenge,

I know I can do hand drill,

but hand drill is one shot, one kill.

Because once you mess up your hands,

no more hand drill.

You need a plan B. B stands for bow drill.

Obviously, we're both competing

- to be Last One Standing. - Yeah.

But our first next hurdle

is that you and I...

- have to not be eliminated. - Yeah.

Friction fire is the big dog.

We're all on the chopping block.

Today is going to be an elimination challenge.

I don't know who's going to make it through.

I am not ready to leave Australia

and leave this outback.

I still have that many figs

and that much jerky left.

That is a lot of calories for me.

We're fighting tooth and nail to stay in the competition.

And it's a lot more anxiety, a lot more stress.

I'm gonna start packing up.

Yeah, let's pack up.

It's gonna be that day.

Today, survivalists have been

instructed to pack up their camps,

move to a central location,

and prepare for some friction.

Pretty confident with friction fire.

The materials out here are not the best

and that makes friction fire very difficult.

I've been sweating friction fire,

not knowing what to do,

- and now I've got a plan. - Yep.

I have some really great pieces

of peabush ready,

and they work. They're perfect.

This matters so much to me.

I want to be in the top three.

I want people to go, "Damn."

I want to surprise people.

I've said it once. I'll say it again.

Survival is 90% mental.

I might not have the size and the strength,

but I've got the mental game.

Friction fire took me out

in the previous Last One Standing,

and I don't want to go out

on friction fire twice in a row.

So I have my entire bow drill kit set up.

Going into this,

I feel a lot more confident than I was last year.

Goodbye, little camp.

Goodbye, boar camp.

I am very confident.

I would say right now, I'm 99.9% confident

I will get an ember.

I may get the first ember

and get that fire started.

Let's rock and roll.

Let's get some!

Today's our day.

Looks like a little friction is

going to be between us all today.

Oh?

Ready to turn and burn?

- Yep. - We are.

"To become the Last One Standing,

you must continue to master the elements."

Yep.

"Today, you will surrender your fire starter

and create primitive fire."

- Ooh! Okay. - We saw this one coming.

Oh, yeah.

- Here we go again. - Here we go.

Let's go.

"When three have succeeded,

the remaining survivalist will be

immediately eliminated."

Ooh, man.

Game got real, guys.

"You must empty your bags

of any previously crafted material

to create your fire."

What the [bleep]?

Oh, man.

This competition just got a whole lot harder.

There goes this stuff.

This is a different animal.

This time, we have to surrender all items

that we have already crafted.

Spindles, the sockets.

That sucks. I had a great kit set.

I had my bow drill already done.

I've been collecting the materials that I need

to make a great bow drill kit.

Jeez, you came with a whole...

Oh, yeah.

And now I have to go and scavenge all over again.

This Last One Standing just got a lot more difficult.

I had a fire board with everything.

Perfect, perfect spindle.

Okay.

It's a huge deal.

I've been working so hard to get here.

Fire starters up here.

Friction fire is the king of challenges.

This challenge is going to be hard.

It's going to take more than I think I have.

It could send me home.
