NARRATOR: Previously...

Will you marry me? I guess!

..sparks flew.

She did say that she had never been in love before.

She's been waiting for me!

As our two newest couples entered the experiment.

Oh my god!

They're actually way too hot.

I'm actually not happy.

He's too hot.

Every single woman is going to want my husband.

And following a short but turbulent few days...

He's so annoying, I can't stand him.

..Eliot made an early exit...

A grown man throwing a tantrum because he didn't

get exactly what he wanted.

..leaving Lauren in limbo.

Just disappointing. Such a wasted opportunity.

Tonight...

(EXCLAIMS)

..the honeymoons are heating up.

Last night in the bedroom was good.

There was intimacy last night.

I don't feel like you've had a go since you saw me.

Katie and Tim reach breaking point.

I've tried everything else, and now this isn't working either.

(SOBS) This is a disaster.

Raw honesty causes tension for Awhina and Adrian.

I'm really taken back by that.

I feel extremely disconnected to you right now.

(INDISTINCT)

This could be a big issue.

And...

What?

Is this happening right now?

An unbelievable turn of events...

It is my pleasure to pronounce you to be husband and wife.

..when our next two couples marry at first sight.

Oh my god. I'm trapped!

(LAUGHTER)

In Queensland,

Lauren is waking up after a devastating blow,

when her husband, Eliot, packed his bags and abandoned her

on their honeymoon.

No. No word from Eliot.

No one has heard from him.

Um, we... I have no idea where he is.

It's been dramatic and shocking

in ways I could never have anticipated.

I don't know if this has ever happened in the history

of Married at First Sight.

He left in a very big rush yesterday.

There are many things that I thought I would be

facing in this experiment.

And this is not one of them, and it's just a huge cop out

and it's very disappointing.

I'm disappointed in him.

I'm disappointed that he's robbing me of the experience.

I mean, Eliot didn't have like, all of the other qualities

that I asked for, but I was still open and willing to learn.

He made a commitment to me, and he made a commitment

to the experiment.

But Eliot thinks he knows better than the experts.

From the beginning,

Eliot has been outspoken about his inflexible standards.

So are you going to go home?

I'd be out of there quick as a flash.

Yeah, yeah, 100%.

And despite his threats to do a runner...

Hi. How are you? I'm Eliot.

You look incredible.

..on first impression, Lauren met his expectations.

No runaway groom.

Only for Eliot to do a 180...

Oh!

..not even 24 hours later.

I feel like we're not really right for each other.

Like those sort of things - expensive handbags -

they're in the same non-essentials category.

And his list of non-negotiables continued to grow.

Well, I want someone that's younger than me, like 25.

Someone who wants to have a big family.

Someone that's right into exercise, like me.

I know what my values are.

And if they don't align, then back on the ferry.

Resulting in Eliot packing his bags and leaving the experiment,

while Lauren remained deserted and alone.

The only thing left of Eliot here is the shaving clippings

that he left in the sink.

So romantic. He's a really romantic kind of guy.

He's very giving.

The side that I saw of Eliot yesterday, he's not someone

that I would want to be with or have around me.

It's the lack of respect that makes me upset.

Just, like, not even stay a week, with no effort

to try to get to know me.

I don't really feel rejected.

I feel sorry for him.

I just think it's such a wasted opportunity.

As a determined Lauren puts on a brave face...

..aboard a luxury yacht in the Whitsundays...

This is how I was meant to be living, I swear.

..Jamie and Dave are coming to grips with married life.

You're safe. Don't worry.

You actually got my boob!

Mama!

It's all for the husband now.

And atop the snowy mountains in Perisher Valley...

I just love this so much.

..Sierah and Billy have slipped into the honeymoon

phase with ease.

Three, two, one. (BOTH EXCLAIM)

Oh my god!

I'm scared!

Oh, yeah! See what you mean.

Come back here!

In Fiji...

Mm. Perfect.

Come on, baby, lay down.

You guys are doing perfect.

Nice and easy. Come up. Now we just want to spread your legs.

Chemistry between Awhina and Adrian

is taking on a new form.

Go, go, go.

Oh, you are a man!

Yeah, I enjoyed stretching with Adrian.

It's definitely nice to touch Adrian's body.

My husband is too hot.

Ah! You know, it's two days in,

but I know we have real chemistry.

All right, drop me.

Oh, look at my big, strong man.

Outside of physical, I actually really like being around him.

He's funny, he's confident.

He makes everything fun.

So we are... Yeah, we're headed the right direction.

Five. Awesome. Now we'll switch it up a little bit.

Perfect. That's good. You guys can do that as well.

Yeah, we'll do that. Take that to the bedroom.

The spark's definitely there.

I definitely find her attractive.

Each day I get to know her a bit more, both very similar,

if not more or less the same.

I think the experts made a good choice.

Oh, I'm going for a ride.

My big, strong man.

You are actually very strong, Adrian.

I'm like a ragdoll.

Oh, you're so strong.

In Vanuatu, newlyweds Carina and Paul are indulging

in a relaxing couple's massage.

Should I give you a quick upper back massage?

Should it be my turn now? Yeah?

Watch out.

What started as a fairy tale beginning...

Hi, Paul.

..descended into any MAFS bride's worst nightmare.

He ghosted me. Yeah.

Hello. Hello.

But Paul managed to turn the tables

by impressing her family.

So is Carina everything you expected her to be

or wanting her to be?

Honestly, even more than that.

And in turn, gaining Carina's trust.

Paul really threw himself in the deep end with my parents.

That was definitely a big tick.

You tell me if I'm being too hard, OK?

So good.

I feel like the connection between Carina and I

just keeps getting better and better.

I actually can't remember the last time I actually

felt like that for someone.

You know, it's really nice.

You've had experience.

Could say that.

Nice.

Definitely got hot in here.

Sexual chemistry is also peaking a little.

There's been no intimacy between Paul and I

just yet. Nice.

But he is definitely ticking my boxes

in every way possible,

so who knows what could happen next.

It's very gentle. Thank you.

I'll give you one later on tonight.

OK. OK.

With most of our newlyweds enjoying getting to know their partners...

..in Cradle Mountain, Katie and Tim's

uncomfortable honeymoon continues.

Oh, hello! How are you?

Hello. Lovely to meet you. I'm Tim.

Katie. Nice to meet you.

At their wedding, husband Tim did not feel an instant

attraction to his wife, Katie.

I just haven't got that initial spark.

I normally go short, petite.

Um, normally go blonde.

And by the next morning, Katie was grappling with the news

Tim shared the night before, that he didn't feel a spark,

bringing her greatest fear of rejection to life.

How are you feeling about it all? Not good.

I was kind of like, I guess, blissfully unaware

that you, like, didn't feel a spark.

It's kind of embarrassing.

I'm written off so early.

I was so hopeful and so optimistic.

It's just so disappointing.

And while still reeling from their experience so far,

Katie is now struggling with some new information

she received from Tim over dinner the night before.

Yeah. So, um, it came up, like, over dinner that, like,

the preference is petite, blonde, short girl.

Or brunette.

And I was like, oh my god, you poor guy.

He's got this, like, monster, curvy redhead.

That's...

..hard to hear.

Because, you know, I come in with such,

like, an open mind about, like, as far as physical goes.

But I'm still here.

And given it's, like, so early on, I don't want to give up.

We just need to hang out more.

We can let our guards down and let our expectations go.

Like, yeah, that'd be good, I want that.

I'm, like, big on getting to know somebody first

before I make a call, because I think attraction

can grow when you get to know somebody.

If I'm, like, starting at, like, a solid five,

do you think that's, like, enough in a dynamic to, like, have a go?

Well, that's what I'm trying to work out.

No, but you are good with your looks as well.

It's just not what... the spark for me.

That's what I've tried to say.

That's what I'm trying to understand. Like...

You're definitely not judged physically.

I think you mentioned something last night, right?

Like, about what your type is.

Yeah. It's normally, I guess, more, like, shorter women.

It's been blonde, brunette. Doesn't matter.

It's not just physical, though.

But I normally probably go quieter women

and even funny.

Katie was trying to push that

it's just an attraction thing.

But, like, part of it's I can't explain.

There is, like, I don't have that full attraction,

but it's not just a looks thing.

Works both ways, though.

Like, you're swiping on looks and stuff too.

Yeah, but I'm at the point now in my life,

which is why I'm, like, here

is to look beyond somebody's physical.

And if they meet my checklist or not.

I'm trying to trying to get there, but I can't force it.

And I know Katie pushed me, like, "Well, are you giving everything?"

But I believe I am still.

Yeah, I just kind of was hoping that there could be

hope and that you could get to know, like, me for me.

I didn't come here to, like, have a, like,

real-life Tinder swipe left, like, I came here to...

..like, get to know you.

Yeah. And understand, like, why they put us together.

Yeah.

I'm here to get to know Tim and understand why

we've been matched together.

And, you know, I just want a bit more hopefulness from him.

What would be your number one thing you want to do today?

Should we strip off nude and run around the forest?

You do it, and I'll just put the blinds up.

Coming up...

I'm ready for that real gut feeling inside

that tells me yes, you're with the right person.

..two new couples enter the experiment.

I want it to be the first time I get married

and the only time that really ever matters.

But an unexpected turn at the aisle...

Oh...

..leaves guests in a whirlwind of confusion.

NARRATOR: Back in Sydney, two new couples are preparing

to enter the experiment.

And first up, one of the most unique grooms

the experiment has ever seen.

(GROANS)

Crikey.

Hey, guys.

Oh... Yeah, I love 'em. They're the best.

I wore them just for today.

Hi. My name is Jake.

I'm 30-years-old.

I'm a PE teacher from WA.

I never wanted to be a teacher growing up, but when I started,

I ended up deciding I really do love it.

It's the relationship building I make

and the impact I can make on those students.

I'm very quirky I feel like, yeah, yeah, it's a good thing.

I love being quirky.

It defines me and it's something different.

And I definitely have a nerdy side.

I'm normally, like, the funky shirt guy.

Like, I've got like a zillion of these.

Very much a big kid at heart.

In some ways, I haven't grown up at all.

Um, and I cherish that.

But I'm now 30.

I'm getting older now, and there's things

I want in life.

I love love. Love, love, love, love, love, love.

My favourite thing in the world is love.

It's the best. It is the absolute best.

Ah! Like, you know what I mean?

Just like, want to give that to a partner.

I'm getting on, I want kids.

I really struggled to find that right person.

But I'm confident on what I want in life

and I'm ready to fight for what I want.

An ideal partner to me is someone who's fun, light-hearted,

someone who wants a family.

I want someone who is all about the energy

and jumping around and having a good time and just banter.

It's the kind of person I am.

I need that in my life so bad.

I want my partner to be my best friend.

Hello! Hey, darlings.

How are ya?

Miss Ashleigh hasn't stretched all school holidays.

My name is Ashleigh. I'm 34 and I'm a dance teacher.

Booty pop.

Roll. Roll.

And then you've got your spin backwards.

I'm a big kid.

I like to play a little bit too.

It's contagious when you love something and you're passionate

about something, and then the kids get that.

It's really fulfilling and rewarding.

Five, six, seven, eight.

Nice work!

I think my work has affected aspects

of my relationships for sure.

I work with dance parents.

I don't have a social network to, you know,

get myself out there.

I really struggle just in day to day life to meet quality people.

Just another day, isn't it?

It's really important that my husband does love children.

Children are such a big part of my life,

and now that I'm 34, I don't have that luxury

on my side, of time.

Yeah.

Like, I just have a lot of... I do have a lot of love to give.

I have a lot of love to give my nephew.

I have a lot of love to give my dance families.

I think if I missed out on having that for myself,

I would be missing out on something really, really amazing

because I can't keep raising other people's kids and being that,

um, superhero for them.

The man I want to see at the end of the aisle

is someone that's kind, loving, fun, and someone pretty quirky.

I don't think I'm shooting for the stars.

I'm just, you know, looking for someone that provides,

like, I'm just looking for me, but in a man.

Maybe not completely, but a little touch,

a little touch of me.

Both Ash and Jake absolutely love kids.

They both teach.

They're also both very keen to settle down and to create a family.

They are quirky, playful, fun, and we need that.

Every single year, we're looking for different layered people.

This is a couple that can really bring some different texture

to the whole experiment.

With Ashleigh and Jake now matched,

next to enter the experiment is Jeff, who is about

to phone his best mate with this major update.

(LINE RINGS)

Mum! Good, how are you?

Nice. I've got something to tell you.

Yeah, I'm going on the experiment,

Married At First Sight.

Yeah, she's, uh, she's my hero, my mum.

So Mum, like, raised us by herself.

Me and my brother.

She's basically sacrificed, you know, a lot of things

to make sure me and my brother have a great life.

So, yeah, Mum's a very special lady.

Hopefully I get partnered up with someone lovely, Mum.

All right, Mum, love you too.

Family is important to you. Yeah.

I live by myself in Melbourne.

And my brother and his children and wife and my mum live in WA.

So I don't get to see 'em often enough.

But, yeah, just having that sort of that space apart, um,

can be hard from time to time.

I love kids, yeah.

Yeah, 100% at 39!

Oh, definitely. Yeah, definitely.

I think, um, the clock starts ticking and Mum puts a bit of

heat on me, so...

I also don't want to be, like, 55,

picking up my kids from, you know, kindy. Yeah.

Um, and also too, like, I love sports and getting active.

Oh! Far out, mate, can you kick it straight?

You know, I want to, like, kick the ball with my kids

and play games and run around the park and all that stuff.

Yeah, I guess there's moments where I do feel lonely,

you know, around holiday time and long weekends and stuff.

You know, I do want a partner.

I want someone that can, I can share my life with.

I hope she's caring, has a nice personality.

That's always nice.

But, yeah, most importantly, she wants a family.

Because that's really important to me.

I definitely want to be a mum.

I think, just how good of a mum

my mum was,

and she made me feel so loved and so heard.

And I think I will just be exactly the same as my mum.

Just at that point in my life where I see my friends

and my family, like, having children.

And just the love that they had for their kids.

And I think I see that in the near future.

I'm putting my faith in the experts

because clearly, I've had no luck finding love by myself.

I don't think I've ever truly been in love.

Like, I talk about the feeling in your stomach

where you know that's where you're supposed to be.

I don't think I've ever been in love.

34-years-old.

And I'm telling you that I haven't really, really,

truly been in love before.

It makes me...

It makes me eager to find it.

Yeah, but it's actually hard to find love in the dating world.

There's some definitely lazy daters.

I was on a dating app and someone just messaged me

saying, "Hey, do you want to come around?"

Absolutely not.

I will not come around.

Like, that is the laziest sentence I've ever heard.

Yeah, I think it's hard.

Like, the new sort of way to go about that

is, like, the dating apps and stuff.

And I gave it a bit of a shot.

Um, and it wasn't quite for me, um, just the messaging

back and forth, and there's a lot of chit chat

before you actually sort of catch up.

33 I was, and was the first time I've had a dating app,

and I think it's the last as well.

I'd prefer to meet people organically.

I want someone who is very easygoing

and really down to earth.

I love someone who is really, really caring and genuine.

Someone with a healthy lifestyle.

Someone to bring like fun activities with.

Someone to do things with.

Like, go to the movies or go out to dinner.

I want a relationship that is, you know, natural, feels natural.

Rhi and Jeff have a lot of similarities,

and they're both looking for the same things in a partner.

They know what they want, which is simply family

and a long-term relationship.

And they're not finding it in this modern age

of online dating.

Essentially, they are a standout example of the frustrations

that are going on out there in the dating world.

It really is quite superficial, and having two people

coming together with such a level of groundedness

and emotional maturity is really refreshing.

It's very clear that Rhi and Jeff

are one of our strongest couples for this experiment.

NARRATOR: Rhi and Jeff have officially been matched

and are now ready to enter the experiment.

Going into the experiment, it's very daunting.

I do want to have a family and someone

that I can share my life with.

There's times where I think I'm getting left behind,

but I'm keen to find someone and move my life forward now.

I'm done with dating and I'm ready for that real gut feeling

inside that tells me yes, you're with the right person.

There's just this hole in me, and I feel like

I'm homesick for a place that I don't know exists.

Wowee.

Hey, guys. How are we?

Good.

The boys. The groomsmen.

How you going?

How are you going, guys? You good?

You know, if I go on a date and it's not quite working,

for whatever reason,

then I'm sort of very quick to move on

because I just think the older you get,

you sort of have a bit less time

and you don't want to waste it.

Everyone wants to find the person they want to be with forever.

And I hope when I turn around, that she's the one for me.

(ALL EXCLAIM)

Hello. How you going?

How are you, mate? Good, thanks.

A little bit nervous.

What's your name?

Jeff. Hey. How you going? Hey, Jeff.

Good to meet ya.

Initial impressions? Talk to us.

I'm still processing it.

I'll let you know in about five.

So am I.

I think there is benefits to meeting someone later in life.

I don't want to just settle because of my age.

I actually want to settle because I'm so in love.

That feeling in my stomach,

that feeling of knowing that you've found your person.

And I hope that this is it for me.

Just keep your eyes on me.

(GULPS)

(SIGHS)

What?

Oh!

Hey, Rhi.

Hi, Jeff.

(SIGHS)

Hey, Rhi.

Hi, Jeff.

(EXCLAIMS)

Oh!

Holy shit.

Is this actually... Is this happening right now?

How you going? I'm good. How are you?

Hello.

Yeah, I know my husband.

Well.

I know him. (ALL EXCLAIM)

Hey, guys. Hey.

Hey, what's going on?

How's your morning been?

Um, yeah, nah, it's good. How's yours?

Yeah, good!

I can't!

Well, you look very... You look very schmick.

You look great, too. Thank you.

Oh, well.

No.

Oh! Far out.

We dated last year.

It kinda just fizzled.

We both just went our separate ways, but we remained friends.

We ran a half marathon together.

I think we've had coffee and stuff since then, so.

Yeah, like, ended very amicably.

Oh, wow... How you feeling?

Yeah, I'm a bit rattled. How about you?

Yeah, me too! I actually can't even speak.

Oh, just pure shock.

We met in Melbourne through some mutual friends,

some guys at the gym.

She just came out of a long-term relationship,

and I just came out of a relationship.

We both sort of decided we were better off

being single, so I guess we friend-zoned each other.

So, yeah, it's, uh, it's a bit bizarre.

The last thing I was expecting today.

This is a lot. It's a lot.

It is a lot.

A very warm welcome to you all,

to witness what is a unique moment,

commitment between two very special people, Rhi and Jeff.

I can't stop laughing.

Rhi and Jeff, I now invite you to share your vows.

Whew.

(CLEARS THROAT)

Well, no introduction now. We know each other.

I'm Jeff.

Since we've just...

OK... We've just met, but...

OK, we'll start that again.

So, we know each other. Here's a little bit more about me.

(LAUGHTER)

I'm very driven. If I have a goal, I'll do my best

to accomplish it.

Whether it's tackling a new business venture

or trying a new recipe, P.S. I make a mean pasta.

I know. (LAUGHTER)

Whew.

I know he's a great cook because he cooked me dinner a few times.

I have a happy life of going to the gym and being active.

I knew all that about him too.

But I also love just chilling out on the couch

and watching a movie.

I've been there.

I love my life, but I've been searching for someone

to share these things with.

That's why I'm standing here in front of you today.

I hope together we can create amazing memories,

tackle challenges, and celebrate victories.

I hope this is just the start of a beautiful journey.

Oh, that's beautiful.

(APPLAUSE)

His vows are very accurate.

Yeah. He has got the qualities that I would generally go for.

I'm still just really taken back.

To my husband, it is overwhelming,

thrilling, scary, but most of all, so lovely to meet you...again.

Oh, too good.

I'm not used to talking about myself,

so I asked my friends and family how they would describe me.

They landed on kind-hearted, considerate, outgoing,

and a bit of a goof.

But you probably knew that. I think I knew that.

I hope in time you will agree with them

and maybe add some more of your own.

Like 'love of my life,' 'girl of my dreams,'

'the best thing that ever happened to me.'

Nice.

Love hasn't always been the easiest road for me.

Even when putting in my whole heart,

there has always been an undertone of uncertainty

and a gut feeling of doubt that I wasn't

in the right relationship.

I'm not here looking for perfection.

I'm looking for certainty.

I ask for honesty and that you follow through on your word.

And most importantly, the certainty that you are

in this wholeheartedly with me.

I hope that this is just the beginning for us.

So let's give it a crack.

Well done.

Thank you.

It's a real funny one.

Like, I know all those things.

So, um, I guess it's a positive too,

takes the awkwardness out straight away.

(SOFT LAUGHTER)

Oh.

Obviously, the experts matched us up for a reason.

We have a lot of mutual interests.

Um, and we get along well.

Take this ring as a signal of the commitment to you.

This is crazy.

It is crazy.

Rhi and Jeff, it is with great honour

that I now pronounce you as husband and wife.

You may now share your first happily married kiss.

(CHEERS)

What the hell? What the (BLEEP)?

Now what? Now what? Wow.

Let's pretend.

Jeff is an amazing person.

It was just pretty much a timing thing,

was the only reason that that did not go forward.

I cannot believe that you and I are married right now.

That's insane. That's crazy.

If there was anyone that you could pair me up with

that I had dated in the past,

Jeff's a good pick.

Wouldn't mind a wine.

We just really have to give the experiment a crack

to really see if there is any potential of it

being more than a friendship.

Well, at least we get the awkwardness

out of the way straight away. We know each other.

Yeah. We both like going to the gym.

That's a positive. I know!

At the moment, I would say it's purely platonic

between me and Rhi.

Yeah, she's, she's a great person.

Um, you know, she's attractive.

She's got all the qualities that I'm looking for.

Moving forward, I'm willing to give it a shot

and try to get the spark back.

I put my faith in the experts.

Maybe there's a reason that she was the person

that was standing there when I turned around today.

And we get a second chance.

Oh, time will tell.

Time will tell.

Still to come...

(INDISTINCT) crisis about my hair today.

The quirkiest groom of the year enters the experiment.

Very nervous, excited, scared.

Oh, yeah, bro.

And...

I saw Billy's willy last night.

..the honeymoons continue with a bang.

Ooh! Yay!

But will Adrian's bombshell threaten

to derail his relationship?

Having a kid is a special moment in your life.

I don't know how I feel about

you have experienced that with someone else.

And... And if I'm being 100% honest, um...

NARRATOR: It's the morning of Ashleigh and Jake's wedding,

and Ashleigh's sister Dannielle is dropping by with a special gift.

How are you? I'm good. How are you?

I have a little surprise for you.

Oh!

CHILDREN: Good luck, Miss Ashleigh!

Flip it into it.

..Miss Ashleigh. Have fun!

I wish you the best day.

And I'm really excited for you to just walk down that aisle

and meet the man of your life.

Ah! Oh my god.

No, that's so sweet.

I just want to see who he is.

Just want to go.

Ashleigh isn't the only one feeling emotional

on the morning of her wedding.

On the other side of town, groom Jake

is starting to feel anxious.

Um, I think I'm nervous about what she's going to think of me.

Like, she going to find me attractive?

Is she going to be like, "Oh, who's this guy?"

I think that's what I'm most nervous about.

It's weird to think of rejection on your wedding day.

Yeah, the fear of rejection is 100% real.

Here they come.

Like a fairy tale.

Hello. Hello. Hi.

No, don't.

With the countdown to the ceremony well underway...

..a newlywed's biggest fear has come true.

A bad hair day.

Massively worried about my hair.

(INDISTINCT) crisis about my hair today.

Which I was really worried was going to happen.

Make sure it's sticking down, not frizzing up like crazy.

I can feel it.

When she walks down, she's like, "Oh my god, he has frizzy hair.

Red flag." I don't know.

Yeah, we'd have to tie it up.

But then if I tie it up, I can't wear the glasses up,

have to wear a different pair of glasses.

Then, like, does it look good with the suit?

(VOICE FADING)

I absolutely want to fall in love.

Love's, like, the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I love love.

Hi, guys. How are ya?

(OVERLAPPING GREETINGS)

Hey, I'm Jake, nice to meet you guys.

Nice to meet you.

He's spewing his hair's getting messy.

I'm really worried about my hair.

I'm trying to make a really good first impression,

but my hair and me are not friends today.

(LAUGHTER)

I feel like this is exactly where I'm meant to be right now.

I just want to be with someone that wants to create

more happiness in my life, and for me with them.

Tke this could be the greatest love story

anyone's ever bloody seen.

I might knock Jules and Cam out of the water!

Imagine that.

Yeah, it's just crazy, man. Just absolutely crazy.

It's a whole roller coaster of emotions.

Very nervous. Excited, scared.

Oh, yeah, bro.

It's just gonna be crazy, like, turning around and seeing,

like, that's the person I'm marrying.

Oh, she's stunning.

(INDISTINCT MUTTERING)

Turn and face me. Oh, sure. No worries.

Back on the spot. Yep.

I really want this to work.

I want this to be the real deal.

I want it to be the first time I get married.

The only time that really ever matters.

And turn.

Turn?

She's gorgeous.

Like, wow.

Lovely smile. Which is one of the big things that I wanted.

Hello.

Hello.

Hi. You look stunning. Oh, thank you!

What's your name? Jake. Nice to meet you.

Hi, Jake, I'm Ashleigh. Ash.

Now, I know her name's Ash.

Lovely to meet you.

Are you nervous?

Oh, (BLEEP) yeah.

(LAUGHTER)

Oh my god, me too!

We're here for it. We're here together.

What do you do for a job?

I'm a dance teacher. Oh, I'm a high school teacher.

Oh my god! Really?

Yeah.

I definitely like what I see.

He's... He's beautiful.

I love this.

Oh, yeah. I have a pet snake.

Oh, sick! Yeah.

His name is Slim Shady.

Where's the snake now? He's at home.

Like, wriggle down with the ring.

I was...joke about doing a Britney Spears

and walking down the aisle. Noted.

He's got a good vibe about him.

Just put me at ease straight away.

Fancy paper as well.

OK.

Of all the people in the world looking for love,

I think we've just found it at first sight.

So cheesy.

It's so cheesy and I wrote it.

I'm going for the cheese.

I'm a bubbly, creative, and sociable person.

I've been so focused on chasing my dreams,

but something's always been missing.

I understand now that I've just been giving

all of my light to the wrong people.

This has resulted in the hard lesson of feeling like

I'm handing an everlasting packet of Tim Tams to someone

who doesn't appreciate chocolate.

I promise you'll never have to question my honesty.

In return, I ask that you treat me with respect,

loyalty, and are completely honest with me,

while putting in as much effort as I will.

I hope we embark on a love story that will be told

by our children's children, about how their grandparents

took the risk of a lifetime to get married at first sight.

Love that.

Her vows were beautiful.

They were cheesy in the best way.

She just seems like a real, like, nice, genuine person,

which I'm really glad about.

Alrighty.

Hi, I'm Jake, for starters.

I'm a teacher by trade,

a terrible karaoke singer by night,

and of course, as a new 30-year-old,

I've started running.

When you hit 30, you start running.

I don't know. Absolutely not.

Unless it's to the pub.

Yeah!

For the past five years, I've dedicated myself to teaching,

one of my greatest passions in life.

And I take pride in going above and beyond

to make a positive impact.

Tick, tick, tick, tick.

From this moment forward, I'll be able to take

each step with you in mind.

I'll be your cheerleader and your safe haven.

I'm not very good at cheerleading though.

I can teach you. You're a dance teacher.

Yeah. That's so perfect.

I'll be your cheerleader. Love that.

I chose this unconventional path to finding love.

But for me, the answer is quite simple.

I'm not just looking for a romantic partner,

but a best friend to share my life with.

Hopefully that's you.

That was really beautiful! I try.

He seems all round, a really warm person.

He's got that little bit of, like, the intelligent,

kind of, like, geeky side to him. I dig a nerd, hard.

Ashleigh and Jake, it is my pleasure to pronounce you

to be husband and wife.

You may seal it with a kiss. Woo!

(APPLAUSE)

No more of this because I have a ring on it!

The vibe I got straight away was, like, he's open, he's honest,

he's warm, he's friendly, he's kind, he's funny.

Tick, tick, tick, tick.

Oh my god, I'm so glad it's you.

Yeah, same.

(RIPPING NOISE)

Was that me? (ASHLEIGH LAUGHING)

They're like the same.

Oh, I'm stuck! Oh my god. I'm trapped!

I nearly lost my head.

NARRATOR: For newlyweds Ashleigh and Jake,

married life is off to a cracking start.

Good.

And as the wedding day comes to a close for our newest couples...

Cheers, happy couple!

(CHEERS)

..the honeymoons are in full swing.

Sierah and Billy are starting their day,

following a major development in their marriage.

I saw Billy's willy last night.

It's going really good with Billy.

He's a very impressive man, and he just keeps

getting better and better.

I think we're going to need the energy for today.

Just to be able to actually stand up.

Stop! You're (BLEEP) smiling!

Yeah, we had sex last night.

I was trying my hardest to maybe wait a little bit longer,

but I'm happy where we're at.

It's going really well.

Should we get some breakfast? Yes.

I'm so hungry.

Something was in the air for our honeymooners, as it wasn't just

Sierah and Billy who took their relationship to the next level.

(GIGGLING)

Last night in the bedroom was good.

Give me a nice pose.

I wasn't going to show you, because I'm keeping it forever.

I'm just going to keep it in the dark.

Otherwise it won't set.

Adrian and I connected.

How long does it take? Few minutes.

And not ones to be left behind,

Carina and Paul also deepened their connection.

It was really nice. Yeah.

There was, yes, there was intimacy with Paul last night.

Twice. Two times. Yeah.

I feel like all day yesterday,

like, I could feel that the sexual chemistry

was just getting, you know, better and better.

We just had such, such a nice day yesterday.

And... And then it just ended on the...

On the best note. Let's say that we are compatible.

With the honeymoons underway,

newlyweds Rhi and Jeff are taking no time

in getting reacquainted,

after meeting for the second time down the aisle.

Are you ready? I feel like I need to move!

OK. (POP) Oh, no!

It's in the palm trees. We'll get it later.

Yeah.

Well... Happy honeymoon.

Happy honeymoon.

Further north on the Sunshine Coast,

newlyweds Ashleigh and Jake

are also wasting no time in getting comfy.

I think this is just amazing. Living the dream.

Matching robes and matching slippers.

Oh, shoes on. I know.

Livin' the bloody dream.

And while most are happily stepping into their new life

as husband and wife, in Cradle Mountain,

Katie is still putting her best foot forward

in her relationship with Tim.

Look at that tree.

That's cool.

Yeah, it's...

Yeah.

It's awkward.

The honeymoon hasn't been off to a great start,

but at this stage, given it's so early on, we just need

to get to know each other.

Maybe, like, need to ask a few more questions.

Oh, pretty.

(SIGHS) I am really trying.

But I don't know if he's being open with me.

It's a bit, like, frustrating.

Cute.

Yeah, I don't know,

I think he's he's stuck in his own, like,

processing right now and he's not able to get past that.

I think we need to focus on being,

like light-hearted and relaxing.

If you wanted to get to know me, ask anything.

Yeah.

Yeah, I definitely am.

Yeah.

There's obviously a bit of me holding back

because I'm not feeling it.

There's definitely an attraction there, but,

like, it's definitely an attraction for the person she is,

more than the overall package, I think.

The water is very clear.

Over in the Whitsundays,

Jamie and Dave are still navigating island life.

I'm really proud of Jamie for putting herself out there.

I'm enjoying the company, and it's fun

getting to know her as a person.

Whoa! Good churning.

Yeah, I'm really, really, really happy.

I think I was Barbie Island Princess in my past life

because I just felt one with the sea.

My love, you gotta pay attention.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

You know, my husband, he just makes me feel

really comfortable and safe.

And I feel like the connection is deepening.

So no meltdowns today.

In Fiji, having had a honeymoon

filled with playful fun and romance,

Awhina and Adrian are spending their last night

with a sunset beach dinner.

Don't you forget it.

From the moment they laid eyes on each other,

the chemistry between Awhina and Adrian was undeniable.

My husband is so hot. Oh my god!

But before Awhina had the chance to tell Adrian she has a son,

her mum dropped the bombshell for her.

Whi is also a mum herself.

Before we move on, can I have a... Can I have a time out?

I'm not hiding at all, I think it's, like,

the best quality about me.

But I'm a mum. Yeah, it wasn't ideal.

It's not ideal.

If I could have it my way, I would like to have

that first with someone.

I'm gonna pull back on the PDA.

This honeymoon is definitely better than what

I could have dreamt of.

I've got more understanding whether or not we've got a future.

We're moving forward. It's incredible.

It's amazing.

Bula vinaka. Bula vinaka.

What is that? From the experts.

The Honeymoon Box contains a set of direct and impactful questions,

and its purpose is to expedite the process of

our newlyweds getting to know each other, helping them

to get deeper, faster.

Open it. Can I open it? Yeah.

Of course, hurry up.

I'm so confused by this, but I'm kind of scared about opening.

I have no clue what it could be.

Are you ready? I'm ready.

What were your first impressions when you first laid eyes on me?

First impression,

I noticed straight away you were a twin, and I thought

that was cool.

I thought you were beautiful.

And I thought they made the perfect match.

I was kind of pissed. Why?

I thought you were too hot.

Mm.

Your turn, babe.

What an interesting question.

Let's keep this one short.

How important is having a having a family to you?

Very.

I'm the same. Agree.

I like that you said that because I always said

that I wanted more children.

I want to build onto my already family.

And I want a partner to do it with.

Having a kid is a special moment in your life.

I don't know how I feel about you have experienced

that with someone else, and I sort of, like, my biggest thing

was I sort of want to share that special moment

as a first with someone else.

And if I'm being 100% honest...

um, but if I know me,

I don't know if I can love, like,

my kids as much as your kid.

How important is having a family to you?

Very. I'm the same.

Agree.

I like that you said that because I always said

that I wanted more children.

I want to build onto my already family,

and I want a partner to do it with.

Having a kid is a special moment in your life.

I don't know how I feel about you having experienced

that with someone else.

And I sort of, like, my biggest thing was I sort of

want to share that special moment as a first

with someone else's first.

And if I'm being 100% honest...

um, if I know me, I don't know if I can love, like,

my kids as much as your kid.

You don't think you can love them all equally?

I don't know, I don't know that because I'm not, I'm not,

I'm not, I don't, I don't know that.

I'm really taken back by that statement.

My son is a huge part of my life,

and he's so important to me.

We're a package deal.

So if Adrian is not going to be able to love my child

as much as the children we created together,

this could be a big issue.

Obviously, that's a concern to me because I'm not just

dating for myself, I'm dating for my son as well.

If I was to kind of introduce someone to my child

and we were to grow a family,

that would be a very inclusive environment.

So you're saying that you can't step into a father role

to a child that isn't your own?

I don't know, I don't know that.

For me, I want her to know exactly how I'm thinking,

because then she can make a decision for herself.

Like I said, I don't know if I could love

someone else's kid as much as my own.

I've never been in that situation, so I couldn't say

I definitely could, or I couldn't say I wouldn't.

I don't know.

I grew up with a stepdad who I call Dad.

I call my sister, sister, my brother, brother.

Even though we had different, maybe a different dad

or a different mum.

So, like, that's never been a concern to me.

I know that I will always love a partner's children as much

as I love my own, because if I love my partner,

I genuinely believe I would love his children.

Yeah.

So, like, if I was to meet a person and he had children...

But again, he didn't though.

I'm not here with a kid, you know what I mean?

But I was open to everything that came into his experiment.

But you're not open to me having a child.

I am open because I'm still here.

Trust me, if I didn't want to be here, I'd be gone.

Only because we've had a great time... But what's the point

of pursuing someone that has these issues

that you know you can't get over?

I never said, I never said I wouldn't get over it.

I don't know, that's the big question is what we don't know.

It felt like it's kind of unfair that I have to try to be open

to pursuing a relationship with someone

that possibly might not ever look past my child.

Smile.

It's free.

(ADRIAN CHUCKLES)

I don't feel like my child is an obstacle

that needs to be jumped over. Like...

I feel extremely disconnected to you right now.

Yeah, and I mean...

Maybe... If I truly love someone...

Truly...

I would work on getting over that hurdle.

I'm upset in general with how things went tonight.

(INDISTINCT)

I came in here for a partner that will add value

to my child and my life.

And at this stage, I don't know if he will.

This just puts my walls back up.

Because if it's not something you think you could do

or even open to, makes me think...

well, what are we doing then?

Next, Katie questions Tim's effort on their honeymoon.

Sometimes I think this not having a spark

is just a cop out.

I don't think that's true.

OK, I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

NARRATOR: In Cradle Mountain,

Katie wants to check in with husband Tim

after feeling a lack of effort on the first day of their honeymoon.

It's very frustrating.

I have been trying so hard to connect to Tim,

but he's not opening up.

Like, we haven't even been able to get to know

each other properly.

I need to have a serious talk and figure out

what we need out of this experiment.

Um, I want to, like, ask,

like, I'm generally, like, pretty optimistic person,

but this is kind of, like, pretty intense.

I don't know, kind of, what's up?

Like, how I should be feeling.

I guess you should just be feeling however you want to feel.

Like, as in... Confused.

How are you feeling?

I'm definitely enjoying getting to know you,

but I'm still struggling with not progressing like I would like to.

How would you like it to progress?

I feel like just wanting to, like, be more affectionate

and those sort of things.

You're wanting to do that?

Yeah. It's just something's holding me back.

I just don't know what to do to change that.

Because I want you to put things on the table

so I can understand context to what's going on.

I think I don't really say some things until I'm asked.

Why I'm asking.

Yeah.

What are you asking?

What do you need to put on the table that's holding...?

I just don't have that feeling.

I think we differ in that in, like, you require a spark,

but you still don't know what that spark means.

Sometimes I think this not having a spark

is just a cop out to say I'm not physically

attracted to you, without hurting the other person's feelings.

OK, I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

Agree to disagree on what?

Like, you're not going to change your physical,

your fixation on what your physical type is

and how I'm not that.

I have one sentence, just a physical thing.

Oh, that's all I've heard. Petite and blonde.

You keep saying, like, this physical thing.

It's not just that. Like, I can't always just put my finger on it.

I think it's a bit unfair what you said.

What's unfair about what I said?

Saying that it's just a physical attraction for me.

Like, there's a lot more to people than that.

No shit.

I'm quite aware of that.

I've been trying to get to know you all day.

Like... you have just been holding back.

Yeah, I don't think that's true.

You know, like, just...

It really caught me off guard.

I just think he can be very dismissive.

It's so hard to look forward in this experiment right now.

And there's no resolve.

Why are we even here?

I just wanted somebody to, like, I don't know,

have a go.

You don't think I am?

I think your mind's pretty well made up.

I don't feel like you've had a go since you saw me.

In what way, though?

Oh, this is very frustrating.

It's like knocking on a closed door.

I feel like an idiot after a while.

(CLEARS THROAT)

I'm gonna get out of your hair.

(SOMBER MUSIC, KATIE CRYING)

Yeah, it was all going to eventually blow up.

All Katie keeps trying to say

is the spark's because of the looks.

But it's not the looks, it's the overall.

And I feel like since I told her I didn't have the spark

has all been about how I'm feeling.

Already talked about my feelings, like two hours ago.

Nothing's changed.

And then she had a go, and she didn't think I was trying.

I don't want to sit here and say bad things about her,

but some of the things she said weren't true.

It's sort of like a bit of betrayal.

So that's made me question why she's here.

(KATIE CRYING, SNIFFLING)

It's just so unfair.

I'm trying to get to know him, but, like, it's so obvious,

like, he's not into me because of my physical,

like, what I am physically.

Like, there's no lust.

There's no spark.

Like, I can put it all together. I'm not an idiot.

Like...

I'm like, why come here if you're gonna not try and be open?

This sucks.

Like, after so many years,

like, what else is there?

Like, it's rejection after rejection after rejection,

like, the common denominator is me.

I've tried everything else,

and now this isn't working either.

Oh, this is a disaster.

It's impossible to find someone on my level.

VOICEOVER: On TV's biggest Sunday.

I'm:

So congratulations.

As my friends would say (TICK PINGS) you hit the jackpot.

(LAUGHS)

Wow, man.

The:

Are you that crazy? We eat, drink and dance.

VOICEOVER: Final weddings ever.

Unleash the moment.

You've been dying to see.

It's time for your first dance guys.

I'm going to dip you, ready?

VOICEOVER: The wedding crash...

(SCREAMS)

...of the year.

Everyone's laughing. He dropped me and I hit my head.

Will have your jaw... That's making it on TV bro.

..on the floor.

I need to have a discussion with production.

Then, the Monday dinner party bombshell.
