Original subtitles

Previously... Yes.

And you're tall.

..high energy, Jamie...

Doug, this is great. Thank you.

Formed an instant bond with this year's big friendly giant.

Dave does have a massive heart.

The experts deserve a bloody raise.

I'm full of freaking, like, love.

But for Katie...

I normally go just short, petite.

I'm not sure why we got matched.

..her worst nightmare came true.

Something's up with Tim.

Oh, wow!

I just took that as a bit of rejection.

Groom Tim broke the news that he felt no spark.

I don't know what I've done wrong

or why this keeps happening.

Tonight...

two more spectacular weddings (CHEERING)

Will you marry me?

Marking.

And it's a case of double trouble.

(CHEERING)

Oh, my God, they're twins.

It's really important having my twin sister here today.

My husband would absolutely need to get the tick of

approval from my sister.

But will this groom's vows...

(GASPS)

derail the entire wedding day?

Wow.

And...

..as our newly-weds bask in their honeymoon glow...

..it's disaster for Lauren...

.,as Eliot makes a sudden exit.

I just think that it's very close minded and selfish.

I don't think there's anything that I could do or say.

(EXCITING MUSIC)

Enjoying the crystal blue waters of Vanuatu,

love-birds Karina and Paul

have dived head first into the honeymoon experience.

(THEY LAUGH)

I just feel like we're both walking on like a romantic bubble.

Everything that we keep doing day after day

just keeps bringing us closer together.

It's amazing, really.

While Karina and Paul continue to explore their blossoming romance,

in the Whitsundays,

newly-weds Jamie and Dave have arrived at their honeymoon.

Oh no, something (BLEEP) leaked.

Oh, no. Fake tan.

Oh, my god, it is tan! Ah!

(SHRIEKS) Oh, my god, it is too.

Oh, my god! Oh, my god, I can't be pale.

Oh, my god!

No, no, you're lucky it was on the other side.

(LAUGHS)

(JAMIE SHRIEKS)

On Queensland's Ghari Island...

Newly-weds Lauren and Elliot are waking up to day one

of their honeymoon.

Elliot entered the experiment with a set

of extremely rigid standards.

I want like that whole 1950s nuclear family.

But it's finding that as well as the other, you know,

checklists that I've got and getting them all to line up.

If you got this long list of criteria and you're very picky

and you live inside your head, you rule people out.

Married at First Sight

this is not a box ticking exercise.

So what interests me is that if we match you with someone

who ticks most of the boxes, would you be prepared to commit to it?

Yeah, 100%, yeah.

And despite the spark on their wedding day...

I'm Lauren. Nice to meet you.

..less than 24 hours later,

Eliot's doubts about his wife's compatibility crept in.

There was definitely things on my non-negotiables,

right, that don't line up.

As Elliott remains concerned with his match,

Lauren is hopeful that today her husband has woken up

on the right side of the bed.

How are you feeling about married life?

Um...

I don't know.

I don't know why,

Elliott was grumpy and moody when we were leaving

for the honeymoon yesterday, but this morning

I'm hoping that he feels a bit better.

You know, I want to, like, delve into this experience 100%.

Did you cut your beard just for the wedding?

I like it to feel like sandpaper on my on my wife's face.

So my plan for the rest of the honeymoon

is to just basically have serious conversations

and get to know each other.

Anything that you would change about married life so far.

Apart from the wife?

Be serious.

I don't know.

I'm very set in my ways.

But what areas do you think like you may need to improve on?

Like what you actually are wanting to learn from the experts?

Maybe I can give them some advice.

Like, there's nothing that I really want to learn.

Yeah, that's concerning.

Oh, my god.

Him saying that, it gives me the impression he's going to

be closed off to any advice.

I always think that I know better than experts.

Like always. Mm.

Really? Yeah.

But I think, you know, there's a lot of opportunities

here for him to show me a more mature side.

So hopefully he can do that.

But I guess we'll see.

You do a lot of talking. No, I'm only kidding.

I'm just teasing you, god.

Yeah.

(GENTLE MUSIC)

In Tasmania...

Katie and Tim have finally arrived at their honeymoon.

Jeez. Wow.

Despite Tim's rejection of Katie on their wedding day,

he decided to join her on the honeymoon.

Last night for me was horrible.

He kind of knocked on my door and wanted to chat.

He just sat down and said, "There's no spark."

To be rejected,

like I don't know what I've done wrong.

OK.

Oh, that's glass. Oh, wow.

I mean, you can enjoy the show, but it's a bit much.

(LAUGHTER)

The bath is very open.

Just know I'm not putting on a show. There's no show from me.

I was worried that Katie would be having a bath

and I'd have to leave.

Thank God for the blind,

that would have been a bit confronting.

Like, the spark's still not there.

Yeah, and I still don't have that

initial attraction with Katie.

Handshake on a pillow fort.

A big pillow fort might be the way.

I'm feeling...

I don't know -

going on a honeymoon with somebody

who's like, yeah, not like in.

It's a bit weird.

Or I'll sleep on the couch. No, no, no. It's OK.

I need all the all the body heat I can get.

(LAUGHS)

But even though there was no spark in the beginning for Tim...

I don't want to give up.

My hopes for the honeymoon with Tim is that we just have fun.

Like we can let our guards down...

Don't drink from the bottle.

..and let our expectations go.

And hopefully the spark can grow.

Cool, righto.

As Katie remains hopeful for her marriage,

a new bride is about to enter the experiment.

I'm Awhina I'm 30.

I'm from Perth.

I'm a single mum and a twin.

Yeah, they are full time jobs.

Especially the twin part.

It's a lot of work.

Are you ready? Yeah.

Alright. OK.

Alright.

I feel like for the rest of the world

that aren't twins, triplets, whatever.

You guys are missing out on something in life.

Yeah, from the second I wake up from 5:30 am,

until late at night, we're on the phone.

From the day I was born, I had someone with me.

No matter what I do or what she does,

we've always been there for each other.

It's a bond, a sisterly bond.

I feel like my husband would absolutely need to get

the tick of approval from my sister.

I'm more nervous for her partner. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But I feel like he would get it as long as I'm happy.

And as long as she sees that,

he's also going to be a really great father.

I met my son's dad when I was 15 years old.

We broke up just before I turned 30,

so we were together for a really long time.

I want you to tell me if you can,

when you started to drift in that relationship.

I would say I actually started to drift

prior to having our son.

And then our son was kind of the glue that held us together.

We both stayed for - probably our son.

I didn't want to break up my family.

I was just so scared of the future.

I thought if I ended things with him,

I'm going to be alone, and I have to do this on my own.

And that's scary.

It's enough to make anyone stay with someone.

It was definitely one of the hardest decisions

I've ever had to make, but it's the best thing for me and my son.

And so now you dive into this new world

where you've got this opportunity to meet different people.

Can you tell me some of the traits

of a life partner for you?

I want someone who will encourage me to grow.

For a long time I felt I was just really stagnant,

I didn't grow.

I was lacking emotionally for so long,

so I would love for someone to come in genuinely curious about me,

ask me questions, get to know me every day.

My perfect husband...

Uh, besides having brown hair, brown eyes and a kind smile,

he's got to have an aura about him

that I'm really attracted to.

Like, I really love a dominating presence.

I would love for the person at the end of the aisle

to be close with his family, because my twin sister and I,

we do have that close dynamic where we tell each other everything.

So he might struggle to understand our relationship,

especially if they're not a twin.

Let me just do a mark there. PRODUCER: Yeah.

Marking.

PRODUCER: Nice and close together, boys.

As single mum, Awhina, sacrifices time away

from her son to find true love...

the experts have found a match

who will truly understand the meaning of being a twin.

Marking.

PRODUCER: Nice and close together, boys.

I have a twin brother and I have two identical twin sisters.

Would I get married at first sight?

I'm in a relationship, so... Can't answer that question.

Can't answer that. My name is Adrian.

I'm 31 and I live in Sydney.

(THEY GREET)

My brother's my best mate for sure.

Everything we've done, we've done together.

We speak every single day.

You can say we have a special bond.

Me. He'll say him, but I'll say me.

But definitely me.

I run my own business.

I work in e-commerce.

I design and sell sports bags.

I live a pretty simple life and I'm happy that way,

but definitely can get lonely at times.

I've been single for four years.

Why do you think things haven't worked in the past?

I think because myself.

I've spent a lot of time by myself in the last three or four years.

I just learned self-awareness.

For me, my time alone was changing the person I was,

changing the person I seen in the mirror that I didn't love.

I'm willing to go every day, so -

and sometimes you need to do it with someone.

I'm definitely missing something now.

I feel like I've done everything I needed to do alone.

I've travelled alone. I've experienced life alone.

But now I do believe it's better with someone by your side.

I just want a partner to understand me.

Someone that's open to doing life with each other.

Someone that's comfortable in their own their own skin

and knows who they are.

Loving, compassionate. and family orientated.

So Awhina and Adrian.

If a spark is there from the beginning for these two,

I think it can be a very fiery and passionate relationship.

Adrian wants someone who's loving and open,

which easily describes Awhina.

His strong presence and confidence

is something that Awhina is really searching for in a partner.

Awhina was in her last relationship for 15 years.

The stakes are very high.

You know, she's a single mum.

She's taken a lot of time out away from her child to be here.

So she really wants this relationship to work out.

And let's not forget, they're both twins.

So the type of very close relationship that each of them

holds with their twin will be understood by the other.

They're going to be ones to watch.

With Awhina and Adrian matched...

(GRAND MUSIC)

..it's now time to meet our next groom

Who's ready to enter this year's experiment?

I think everybody would say I'm a mama's boy,

even if I don't want to admit it.

Yeah, they would say I'm a mama's boy.

Mum's on hot water jobbies.

I'm Billy. I'm 31 and I'm from Perth.

When Billy was little do you know what he used to say?

"Tupa tea, tupa tea."

Alright, guys, we don't - we don't need -

we don't need to really be letting that one out.

It's my first word.

Home is where my mum is.

She means everything. She is my world.

When I was growing up, I didn't really have my dad around.

She's played a very, very important role in my life

to keep me on the straight and narrow as much as she can.

Oh, thanks for a cup of tea, mum.

My mum's always taught us that as long as

we have each other, everything's OK.

That's all we need.

OK, guys, I've got a little gift for you.

So this feels like the, um, the right time.

Mum, if you could just take the piece of paper off for me.

So, actually, um, guys, I'm getting married,

and I'd like you to be my best man.

Really? Yeah, yeah.

Swear down. Swear down.

Swear down. Swear on my life.

Swear down.

I love you. I love you too, mate.

So, yeah, I'm going on married at first sight.

Billy.

Why is it always something with you?

Oh, mother of the groom.

Mum! Oi.

Sister of the groom.

There we go. So, yeah.

Marriage means everything to me.

You know, this is what I want.

I'm surrounded by people that are in couples.

And I'm the one that's missing out.

I'm surrounded by everyone in relationships

and they're all happy.

My mum and my stepdad have been married for a long time.

They have a really, really strong connection.

I'd like to have what they have.

That's what I'm missing. I'm in a good place in my life.

I've got everything that I want.

Except that.

Tell me about this small little detail

that's missing from your life.

This woman who is going to make you also happy.

I say a best friend.

A best friend that's a lover. That's what I'm looking for.

Yes, friendship on fire.

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it, yeah.

My perfect partner would be positive, confident.

Yeah, someone that just holds herself well.

I want someone who wants a family, wants kids.

I want what our family's had.

I'm Sierah, I'm 31, and I work in financial planning.

I would think that people's first impressions of me

are that I'm very outspoken and confident.

(LAUGHS)

When the reality is I'm a very nice person

that just wants to be loved.

Do you think you've ever been in love?

I've never been in love before.

I don't think I've really -

I've never had a long term relationship before, so...

Why do you think that is?

My upbringing was quite tumultuous, and it was a broken home,

so maybe not feeling like my feelings have been heard

or validated in the past. Yeah.

How do you think growing up in your family has shaped you

in terms of what you like with relationships now?

I probably got a big fear of abandonment and rejection.

Yeah.

I know that when I go on first dates,

I do subconsciously self-sabotage, and I guess I worry that

the attraction towards me might fade away

or something just might go terribly wrong.

I get really anxious and I put on a front,

and I use humour as a coping mechanism,

and I think that's probably a way to protect myself.

I mean, it is such an extreme sort of experiment

to get you out of your comfort zone.

Are you up for that?

I am, I'm excited.

I think it's just something that I need to do.

I don't want to stay single at all.

Like, I really want to be in a relationship, I always have.

I guess I got an egg timer - I want to have kids.

I just want someone that's very caring,

funny, family orientated.

I just want someone that's going to respect me

and love me and treat me well and be kind.

Billy and Sierah have aligning morals and values.

They both put family very high on their priority list.

They're both eager to settle down,

start a family of their own.

I think for Sierah,

intimate relationships are very difficult.

It's a chance for Sierah to really overcome her natural

defence mechanisms that are typically there

when she's looking for true love.

Sierah and Billy are both very charismatic, very likeable.

But the question is, will Sierah be able

to let her walls down and allow Billy in?

Sierah and Billy, and Awhina and Adrian

have officially been matched,

and are ready to enter this year's experiment.

Coming up...

(GRAND MUSIC)

For Awhina, could it be love at first sight?

You're actually way too hot.

Like he's a real knockout.

Oh, my god.

That man would be every female's type.

Or will one comment from her new husband derail her big day?

And later...

Don't get defensive,

I'm not trying to, like, paint you as something, I'm -

I feel like you definitely just did.

He's just closed off because he didn't get exactly what he wanted.

Will Elliot do a runner?

I know what my values are.

And if they don't align, then back on the ferry.

(GRAND MUSIC)

The wedding day for Awhina and Adrian is finally here

and arriving to help Awhina prepare for her big day

is twin sister, Cleo.

You look beautiful.

I need right now. My, god, I know.

I'm excited.

My sister was in a relationship for such a long time,

so to let another person in is going to be a big thing for her.

And you're shiny.

What are you doing?

I just want to get a good look. I'm not Mother Teresa.

But I'm hoping that they both give this a proper chance

to see what could bloom from it.

I do think a lot could go wrong, but also a lot could go right.

I'm not going to be a single gal for much longer.

My twin sister and I,

we've kind of had each other our whole lives.

Literally our whole lives.

Ready? Ready? One, two, three, pop.

I don't think it worked.

We've done so many important milestones together,

and I'm so happy that she gets to be part of this one.

How many twins does it take to open a wine bottle?

(BEEP)

As Awhina and Clio struggle to get the celebration started,

groom Adrian and twin brother James

are having a struggle of their own.

I actually have a wedding to make.

You might want to figure this out.

(QUIRKY MUSIC)

No, we don't.

I got it by just back to front, I think.

You can take it off and flip it around.

I think we need a corkscrew.

I think we might almost have it.

Ready? (POP) Ah!

Three hours later, we got there.

Their three minute video three hours later.

But, um, I mean, after that YouTube, I think we'll be,

I think I'm a professional.

So if you've got a tie for the day, let me know.

I'll sort you out too.

How are you feeling? Excited. I'm ready.

I'm finally ready to meet her.

Cheers to you getting married? I love you.

I love you more. I love you more.

Let's get you married, bro.

Time has come.

(MAJESTIC MUSIC)

Oh, this looks so pretty.

So cute. It's actually stunning.

So exciting.

Oh! Fam's coming.

(ALL GREET)

(LAUGH AWKWARDLY)

MAN: How are you going? WOMAN: Hello.

(LAUGHTER)

# #

I can't wait to meet her.

I really hope that she's the one,

that she's the right person for me...

and I'm the right person for her.

You know, love is why I'm here.

The best thing that can happen is it just feels right.

And you both feel connected.

I'm ready, I'm ready.

(WHISTLES)

(GASPS)

Look at you.

(CHEERING)

Hello, everyone. Hi, I'm Adrian.

You guys know who I am? Yes.

Looking good brother.

Why do you all look so nervous?

(LAUGHTER)

I'm the one getting married here.

Are you the mum? Yes.

Nice to meet you. I'm Adrian.

Adrian, OK, cool. ADRIAN: Yeah.

I was walking down the aisle and he turned around

and I was like, he is 100% her type.

(CHATTER)

(THEY SHRIEK)

Plot twist.

I sat down and then I turned my head to the right.

I did a double take.

I was like, oh, my god, they're twins.

These are our sisters here, they're twins as well.

Two sets of twins? OK. Yeah, two sets of twins.

Right. That is funny.

I was so excited.

I just think being a twin, you understand twins.

And I know that they're going to get along like a house on fire.

You're going to be surprised. Yeah.

You're twins?

No way. Who's the twin?

Yeah, good question, Which one are you guys?

Are you guys identical? I can't tell you.

You can't say. Yeah, yeah. MAN: 100%

Yeah, right. Twins on twins.

Double trouble. Yeah.

There's so many unknowns, so many unknowns about today.

But I know what I want in a life partner.

And I don't want to settle this time.

I don't want to stay in a relationship

unless it's who I see the rest of my life with.

My husband needs to be this really incredible, amazing man,

with these incredible core values,

because my son's the most important person to me in my life,

and I'm not just going to introduce anyone to him.

I'm hoping that you know,

the right person for me is at the end of that aisle.

I'm scared.

(MAJESTIC MUSIC)

# #

I get nervous now.

Don't be nervous because I'll be nervous.

Hello?

Hey, how are you going? I'm Adrian.

Hi. Nice to meet you.

I'm Awhina. Nice to meet you.

You're actually way too hot. I'm actually not happy.

I'm a bit nervous.

I'm a little annoyed, actually.

I'm annoyed. My husband's so hot.

He's too hot.

Like he's a real knockout.

Every single woman is going to want my husband.

Your sister sort of ruined the surprise.

Did she?

There's two of them. Yeah, thanks.

(THEY SQUEAL)

I'm a squealer. I'm sorry.

Your twin brothers' hell judging me.

(LAUGHTER)

This is actually really crazy though.

Oh, my god, I'm actually so, like, taken back.

I'm ready to really get married now.

Take him. You can have him.

I'm happy to. (LAUGHS)

I'm intrigued.

She's exactly my type.

I'm getting married, guys.

And she was loud. She was bubbly.

She's everything I could ask for.

Welcome, everyone,

to this incredible once in a lifetime union.

We're gathered here today in support of Awhina and Adrian,

who have chosen to embrace a truly unique journey.

Under normal circumstances,

I wouldn't have to introduce myself, but, hi, I'm Awhina.

Hi.

I'm genuinely curious to learn everything about you.

I want to know what makes you smile.

The passions that set your soul on fire.

And the experience that shaped the person

standing before me today.

Now, because we're only just meeting,

I want to share a bit about myself.

Firstly, I'm a twin.

(LAUGHTER)

Family is extremely important to me.

I promise to embrace your family as my own,

nurturing a home filled with warmth, laughter and unwavering support.

To creating a loving and inclusive environment

where everyone feels valued and cherished.

I promise to share my true self openly,

and create a safe space where you can do the same.

Lastly, my promise to you, Adrian,

is that if there is a genuine spark between us,

I will cherish that fire and vowing to never let it burn out.

I hope you're ready for all of this,

and I hope I'm ready for you.

(APPLAUSE)

Hearing her vows, the way she spoke,

it felt like it came from the heart.

And that was the most important thing.

She's open. She's open to love.

She didn't make too much eye contact, but that's fine.

She's nervous, and I think it's cute.

I think it's cute that she's nervous.

Adrian, your vows.

I don't know how I got here,

and I definitely don't know how you got here,

but what I do know is everything happens for a reason.

And there is a reason we are

standing right here facing each other.

If you haven't noticed, which you have,

I'm an identical twin and so are my sisters.

Also, you should know I'm not a one man package deal.

Aussie shepherd.

Oh.

Wow.

I'm looking for that old school love.

The love where 30 years goes by and we still look at each other

like the very first time we locked eyes.

I'm a little bit taken back by that comment.

I mean, like, I'm a mum and it's a big part of who I am.

I've not yet been able to find that...

But now I'm worried it could be a deal breaker for him.

So let's be present,

fill our bellies with laughter, mind with memories,

and hopefully our hearts with love.

Thank you. (APPLAUSE)

I didn't like when he said,

"Don't worry, don't worry, um, I haven't got a kid."

That kind of made me go.

I wasn't worried you had a kid, mate.

Like if you had a kid, great, great. We on.

(APPLAUSE)

Now I'm a bit scared to have that conversation.

Usually I'm like, you know what makes me more attractive

is I'm this big, beautiful mum.

Because that's what I am.

I'm a gorgeous mum and I love my son.

But now that I'm already this committed and I find

him so drop dead gorgeous, I'm a bit worried.

Like maybe he's not ready for a family just yet,

but I don't want to hide any part of who I am.

So, as much as I'm scared now,

no, I'm going to have that conversation.

(EPIC MUSIC)

(GENTLE MUSIC)

Fearful of rejection,

bride Sierah is waking up on her wedding day

anxious about meeting her new husband.

I'm pretty nervous for today.

I've just been stressing so much about the wedding.

I'm just scared that my future husband

will be disappointed when he sees me.

I think I'm just scared to be vulnerable

and let my guard down.

But I've been single for so long

and I've never been in love before.

I really actually want someone to take the time

to get to know me.

By her side to help settle Sierah's nerves...

(CHEERING)

..are friend Grace and sister Brianna.

Oh, my God, you look stunning.

I feel extremely emotional.

Um, just to see her start the journey

of what could be something

really amazing and something that she deserves

just brings me an overwhelming amount of joy.

I don't want to cry in makeup.

Oh, hold on, I'll cry forward,

because the tears drop to the floor.

Yeah, for sure. Definitely.

Are you excited?

It feels quite real now.

I'm here because I want to meet the love of my life.

I just hope he's as nervous as I am.

I love, love.

All of my life I've been surrounded by lovely relationships, really,

with the closest people to me.

I'd like to have what they have.

I've got a lot of love to give.

The dream coming out of today is to feel like

we can take on the rest of life together.

This is all I've been waiting for.

I've been waiting to just see my wife.

I hope she just has the biggest smile

on her face when she sees me.

Too bad like, honestly, I'm nervous,

but my biggest worry is that

she's not going to like what she sees.

She'll love what she sees.

Got any last minute advice from a lady that's lived

in a very happy marriage for a for a long time?

Yeah, keep your wife happy, for sure.

How'd you do that?

Be nice. Kind. Show her love.

Show her affection.

Think about her feelings. Have I got a notepad?

Let me just write this stuff down.

Well, I'd tattoo it for you if I could.

I hope she likes tatts, hey? I know.

It's so pretty.

Hi.

It's so gorgeous.

Oh, there they come.

(ALL GREET)

This is so exciting. I know.

Hiya, guys. How's it going?

How are you? Hi.

I just want to have that person to call mine,

to you know, walk hand in hand with your best friend.

And you love her.

It's what the dream is, I guess.

That's the end goal.

If that happens, it's like winning the lottery.

Whoo!

(LAUGHTER)

Let's get married.

Jesus.

It's hitting now.

Just get you to stay there.

Oh, god, here we go. Got to stand still.

Hey, guys. How are you?

Good, thank you.

I'm Billy, by the way. Hi, Billy.

Nice to meet you all.

Now, great, I've just got even more nervous.

(LAUGHTER)

Great pick. We're all thrilled over here.

I think I'm kind of preparing myself for it to be unsuccessful,

which is generally what I've done in the past

so that I don't end up hurt.

But I want to break this cycle and meet the love of my life.

I just really want to experience what it's like to be in love.

I want to be with someone that I can create a loving

and nurturing family with,

because I didn't have that growing up.

I just hope that my husband has kind eyes and a nice smile

that's going to put my mind at ease when I get to the altar,

Now, you can turn.

(BLEEP)

Jesus.

Just wow. Just wow.

And the smile,

I said about the smile.

I said about the smile,

and there it was gleaming.

Hello. Hello, how are you going?

How are you? I'm Billy. I'm Sierah.

Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you.

How are you, good? Good.

How are you feeling? Yeah, good. You?

Yeah, top of the morning.

You look well nice. So do you.

The dress is insane.

(LAUGHTER)

Will you marry me? I guess.

(CHEERING)

BROTHER: She didn't say yes. She said yes.

I heard it. That's all that matters.

Yeah, I'm really happy. He's quite attractive.

I like the fact that he's obviously

got a very good sense of humour.

I felt quite comfortable around Billy straight away.

So that's a pretty good sign.

Good afternoon and welcome, family and friends,

to this union.

Sierah and Billy have written some beautiful vows

that they would like to share.

Billy, would you like to go first?

My wife, I'm originally from England, but moved back to Perth

to settle down and to find the girl of my dreams.

And here you are. Oh.

Family is so important to me,

and in my life they do come first.

Me and my mum have the best unbreakable relationship.

A proper mama's boy.

But my mum is so loving and passionate to all her children

and people around her, and I'm sure she is going

to give you the love just as much as she loves me.

One thing I'm sure of is that you

will be welcomed with open arms.

So welcome to the family.

Going into this marriage, I want to start with honesty.

I should tell you, in the past, I've struggled

to trust people and open up fully to someone else.

This is because a very important person in my life,

my biological father, was never really there for me growing up.

This has made me keep my walls up

in order to protect myself from getting hurt.

This has affected my previous relationships,

which is why I need the experiment more than ever.

I don't want it to affect me going forward.

I don't want this to be the reason I end up alone.

But I want you to know that I want this experiment to work for us,

and I'm going to give you my all.

Now, all I want you to do is hold my hands tight

and let's enjoy this ride. Oh.

I like the fact that he was willing to be open

and vulnerable in his vows.

That was quite touching,

because it makes me want to kind of show him the same respect back.

OK. (GIGGLES)

Go on. You got this. You're good, you're good.

Hello, future bestie. That's you.

First of all, thank you for showing up.

This is definitely a very unconventional

way to find a husband.

But here we are, and I'm excited to share this experience with you.

I have taken a leap of faith on this journey because I have been

doing life solo for a long time and have never been in love.

I like to think that maybe I've just been patiently waiting for you.

Oh, that's cute.

My dream is to build a life with someone.

Teach and be taught, and finally understand what

it feels like to be someone's number one priority.

I have a big heart and a lot of love to give,

but I can be a tough nut to crack because I've gone through a lot

and have always had to depend on myself.

If you are patient, reliable and consistent,

you will see that I am like finding $100 note on the ground

and you'll wonder why no one's picked me up yet.

I love that about yourself. I love that.

I'm not the kind of person to do things in halves.

When I'm in, I'm in, and I promise you that I am in.

I look forward to our future, bestie,

let's make it unforgettable.

(CHEERING)

That was awesome.

When she said, like my future bestie,

I was like, yes, that is what I want.

Please place the ring on Sierah's left hand.

She did say that she had never been in love before,

but you know that's about to change.

She's been waiting for me.

I am delighted to declare Sierah and Billy as husband and wife.

(CHEERING)

GUESTS: Ooh! Oh, my gosh.

He dipped me. Sorry.

I kind of got caught in the moment, guys.

I'm actually not sorry.

It was a nice kiss, you know? It was soft, so that's cool.

Yeah, come on, I wanna kiss her again.

It is now time to put your hands together

as I present to you all a married couple,

Sierah and Billy.

(CHEERING)

(EPIC MUSIC)

The ring on the finger definitely solidifies what we're doing.

And it feels good.

You look amazing.

The sun came out at the perfect moment, didn't it?

It did. It did.

I'm just more intrigued to find out more about her.

Next...

(DINGING)

It's now time for speeches, everyone.

..an unexpected bombshell is dropped during the speeches...

So good evening everyone...

Before we move on, can I have a can I have a time out?

Um... Can I borrow Adrian?

..that sends Awhina's big day into chaos.

And later...

No one ever said that this was going to be easy.

..Lauren and Eliot's marriage reaches breaking point.

It's done.

It's actually fascinating to watch a grown man

throwing a tantrum...

There's no upside for me.

..because it's a huge cop out.

After meeting and marrying at first sight,

Sierah and Billy had instant chemistry,

and as they settle into the reception,

they're keen to start sharing some of the important things in life.

Would you like to try some. Yeah.

Would you like to try some chicken?

Oh, come on, let's feed each other.

Alright.

That was a bit of a stingy mouthful, but that's OK.

Yeah, I'm hungrier, you know.

God, that's a good one, isn't it? I am.

You perfect husband and wife, you too.

The vibe between me and Sierah is just good energy.

Good energy.

Did you find out if Sierah likes dogs?

I love dogs. Oh, there you go.

Like, you know, seeing the two sides of the

family and friends just get along.

It's like - it's exactly what I wanted.

So, yeah, we're -

I'm very happy.

I have a cat, though.

Oh! (LAUGHS)

Her name's Penny. Pennifer Aniston.

Pennifer Aniston. OK.

She the love of my life.

Jennifer Aniston used to be a love of mine.

(LAUGHTER)

Until now.

It's obvious she's got a sense of humour.

That's so key.

Like, oh, like Brangelina.

We're silly. Like Sierah and Billy.

Over at the other wedding,

Awhina and Adrienne's friends and family

are settling into the reception.

Ready to welcome the new couple.

Nice. Oh, I'm right here. Perfect.

Super pretty.

Lovely. Fantastic.

And Adrian's twin brother, James, wastes no time

in getting the lowdown from Awhina's sister, Cleo.

Are you guys close?

We are. Oh, nice.

Do any other siblings?

Uh, yeah, we have a baby sister and a baby brother.

Oh, nice. Nice. Yeah.

Does your sister?

She got a kid? Um...

I don't know.

I panicked.

You don't know?

I didn't know what to say.

I didn't want to lie,

and I also couldn't tell the truth.

Does she have a child?

I don't know.

What have I done?

No, it's OK.

I don't know if, um...

it's open to interpretation.

Good afternoon everyone. Welcome.

I want to get a round of applause for our newly-weds.

So get your hands together as they walk in.

Awhina and Adrian.

(CHEERING)

I'm feeling really good.

Oh, thank you.

I had, like, an idea of what today would look like,

but I didn't expect to just meet this man and just think...

holy crap.

Yeah.

Now that I've met him and I have this huge attraction to him,

and we haven't really gotten to know one another.

I'm a little nervous to have that conversation with him.

He's a dog, dad, and I'm a human mum.

I just need to tell him that.

Give it here. Mm.

There you are, twin. Can I try some?

No. Can I have one mouthful?

You can have one.

I'm not sharing no more. Can we trade?

You had some of mine. No.

Do you guys fight? We do.

I block her all the time. Do ya?

We've just been talking about almost irrelevant information.

So who wins the fight?

Me.

And then our siblings, who I love, have been jumping in.

Honestly.

And then I feel like there hasn't been an opening.

You guys hang out a lot together and do things together.

We do? Yeah, we do.

We love bakeries. We go for walks.

Go for walks.

Because of my dogs. So you have dogs?

Yeah. I've got two sausage dogs.

I love them. Yeah, you should have 'em.

Everyone else is around.

There's a lot of noise, outside noise.

Who was eating ice cream last night?

Me. It's my favourite.

Every Sunday, and Saturday, and Friday.

I don't feel like I've chatted to him. It's weird.

I don't feel like there's been a moment where

we've had this second to breathe, and it's been so upset.

You haven't had small chit chat together yet.

No, I didn't get to have that conversation with him yet

that I was a mum and that's really upsetting.

The best part about me is being a mum

and yet I haven't told my husband yet.

I wanted to have that, you know,

that conversation sooner rather than later

before we kind of go in guns blazing.

I kind of want to just tell him now.

I want to tell him.

I want to tell him now.

(BUILDING MUSIC)

Adrian...? (DINGING)

It's now time for speeches, everyone.

I'd like to welcome the father and mother of the bride,

Russell and Vanessa.

(CHEERING)

Thank you. Good evening everyone.

I'm Rusty, Awhina's stepdad.

And I'm Vanessa, Awhina's mum.

She was my firstborn by 30 minutes,

which has seen her naturally

take on the lead of being the big sister.

Fi is extremely intelligent, quick witted and outgoing.

Fi is also a mum herself.

(DRAMATIC STING)

And we are so blessed to have a gorgeous grandson.

Fi is an amazing mum and her son is always her priority.

I've been a part of the twins life since they were three years old.

If there's one thing I can tell you,

meeting the girls and the girls mum was -

Before we move on,

can I have a - can I have a time out?

(MICROPHONE FEEDBACK)

Um...

Pause, pause, pause, pause.

Can I borrow Adrian?

(DRAMATIC MUSIC)

Sorry. Excuse me.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC)

Fi is an amazing mum and her son is always her priority.

I've been a part of the twins' life

since they were three years old.

Meeting the girls and the girls mum.

Before we move on, can I have a - can I have a time out?

Um.

Pause, pause pause, pause.

Can I borrow Adrian?

Sorry. Excuse me.

Hey, I feel like you're almost blindsided there a little bit,

and I feel a bit guilty because I just don't feel like

there's been the right, like moment. Yeah, yeah.

And I'm not hiding it.

I think it's the best quality about me.

But I'm a mum. Yeah.

Not to a four legged kind. Like a two legged.

And I just feel like that was very blindsided,

because it just hasn't been a moment for me to put you aside.

Yeah. Yeah.

So I just wanted to kind of address that before everyone started,

you know, throwing everything out there.

I'm going to be honest with you,

That's OK.

That's something you can digest. Yeah.

Yeah.

How do I feel about it?

Yeah, it wasn't ideal. It's not ideal.

Yeah, f I could have it my way,

I would like to have that first with someone.

(APPLAUSE)

Had it been on the outside world, you know,

and I met her and I knew her and I knew she had a kid.

I wouldn't have entertained it in that sense.

Oh, gelato.

I mean, he's still got to obviously digest that.

His reaction to my telling him that I'm a mum

took me back a little bit.

He didn't seem very open to the idea.

It wasn't something that I felt like I wanted or needed to hide.

It just hasn't - No, of course not.

Yeah, it's my best thing about me.

The end of the day.

my first thought is whether or not he's going to add

value to my son's life.

So as much as I was nervous to let him know about my child,

he should be nervous about whether or not

he's good enough to ever meet my son.

How'd you take the news? Hm?

How'd you take the news?

Well, I'll be honest with ya, I don't know.

It's not ideal. Definitely compatibility.

Yeah, it's not ideal, but, you know, she's cool.

I think her family is cool.

That in itself, like, I think everyone is having a good time.

Yeah.

I made the commitment to come in here.

And that means those committed,

committed to whatever challenge was thrown at me.

Are you feeling OK with the...?

the bit of the bomb that was dropped in this beach?

Listen, I'm gonna be honest with you that's not ideal.

But again, I'm here for open mind.

I'm not fully closed off.

So we'll see.

I had to ask that question to Adrian...

I love you, Lauren.

Because Adrian is going to have to adapt.

There's no moving forward from this

if he can't adapt that Awhina has a son.

100% committed and 100% willing to be open and vulnerable.

I said that's what I want in someone,

so I can't say I want that in someone and not have that in myself.

Yeah, so, Adrian,

you know, she's got one beautiful boy,

she's not got an army.

Alright, alright, Lauren.

Leave him alone. (LAUGHTER)

No, but like, you can take one child under your wing.

Oh, my god.

You're right?

Yes, of course you can.

I think it's really great that Adrian is

open to the experience.

I'd like to now invite the bride and groom to their first dance.

The only way for our relationship to really grow

and move forward is if you are open to the possibility of,

you know, me and my son.

Where's his confidence here? Don't worry about me, brother.

Confidence.

I definitely feel like there's a real possibility

or a potential there.

And there were some qualities in him

that I definitely asked for in a man,

like his strength, his confidence.

Um, yeah, so I'm hopeful.

Here we go. (CHEERING)

You look perfect, guys. It's beautiful.

(EPIC MUSIC)

It's the morning after the weddings,

and Sierah and Billy are waking up to married life for the first time.

Morning.

It's honeymoon day, baby.

Waking up this morning is very surreal.

Ring on my finger.

Wife laid in bed next to us.

And that coffee is actually really nice.

You built it up to be a disaster.

Well, I like to lower your expectations.

Yeah, yeah.

I feel really good waking up this morning because

Billy and I just get along very well, and he's fun.

And it was just really nice to have someone to

cuddle with last night.

Yeah, we just cuddled last night.

Whew.

I think there's definitely some sexual tension there.

So maybe when we're on our honeymoon,

we might consummate the marriage.

Would you like to do the honours? Sure.

Ooh, this is it.

Good morning, newly-weds,

an alpine adventure awaits you on the pristine slopes

of Perisher Valley in the snowy Mountains,

where you can brave the cold or cosy up together in front of a fire.

Enjoy, the experts.

Well, that sounds nice, but where is that?

I haven't a clue where that is. I've got no idea.

Where's it say? The Snowy Mountains?

I think that's in New South Wales somewhere.

Should we go pack?

Yes. Let's do it! Whoo-hoo!

As Sierah and Billy set off for Perisher Valley,

newly-weds Awhina and Adrian are getting ready

for their honeymoon to tropical Fiji.

How are you going with packing?

But a lack of sleep has left Awhina

in desperate need of some facial rejuvenation.

Waking up this morning, I feel really comfortable.

We didn't stop talking last night, which was really nice.

Good night.

So I'm excited to go to our honeymoon.

After packing their bags and leaving Sydney behind,

Awhina and Adrian arrive at the tropical

honeymoon destination of Fiji...

..and its romance and high speeds for the happy couple.

Wow.

From a sun drenched island in the Pacific

to the Snowy Mountains back home.

SIERAH: We've arrived to our honeymoon destination

on the Snowy Mountains.

Oh, my god. Oh, wow.

Oh, my god!

Jesus! That is so beautiful.

Sierah and Billy enjoy the powdery slopes

of Perisher Valley.

In Queensland...

(DARK MUSIC)

..Elliot remains concerned that his wife, Lauren

isn't his absolute perfect match.

(SLURPING) How's your mug going?

It's finished. It's finished.

Wow, I blinked and it's gone.

I feel like maybe we're not really right for each other.

For me, there's certain things that are non-negotiable...

It's amazing.

..and so tonight, I need to start asking these sort of questions.

Because I know what my values are,

and if they don't align, then back on the ferry.

In Queensland,

Lauren and Elliott are in the middle of an awkward

and uncomfortable dinner as Elliott continues

to look for incompatibilities in their marriage.

Do you want to have kids?

I'd like to have one child, not multiple.

Yeah, right.

I think probably the number one thing for me

is I really want to have a big family.

So I want someone that's like family oriented, you know,

not someone that has values that run counter to mine.

I feel like the more kids you have,

you need to get a bigger car.

You can't do as much travel.

That's like the last thing on my priority list.

Yeah, OK.

Like those sort of things, you know, handbags,

expensive holidays.

I never said anything about handbags or expensive holidays.

I just saw your handbag.

What does expensive handbags got to do with that?

I'm not - don't get defensive. Like it's not about -

I'm not trying to like, paint you as something.

I'm just saying, like -

I feel like you definitely just did.

There's some superficiality there.

And, like, that's of no interest to me, you know,

handbags, expensive holidays,

they're in the same category in my opinion.

Like non-essentials category.

But why?

Because both of them are non-essentials.

Elliott is actually like being a little bit mean.

Like, he's making generalisations about me.

It's just very inaccurate representation of me.

He thinks that I care about materialistic things

and he hasn't actually asked what I do value.

And to be honest, that really scares me because this is not

one of the first times he thinks that he's right.

So we had a conversation this morning where you said

that you weren't going to listen to the experts.

You think you know better than them.

Were you like being serious or...?

Yeah, about me.

I know more about me than the experts, yeah.

Then that's concerning to me.

Why put your hope and trust into the experts?

Take three months off work?

Well, I think -

You're better off going down to the local pub

or the phone box and meeting some rando.

You should be with someone that's, like, probably like 40s.

And that would be a good dynamic, in my opinion.

Yeah.

Um, and I should be with like... A 20 year old.

Mm-hm.

Someone who's just young and dumb and looks pretty.

No, no, I like intelligence.

I'm a very, like, selective person.

I don't know if he's joking or not.

I wouldn't choose Elliot normally myself,

but like that's why we're here.

Ah.

I came on this experiment to learn about, like,

what we're doing wrong,

how we can improve and break those old relationship patterns.

(SIGHS)

I'm going to go to the bathroom. Yeah, go for it.

He's just closed off

because he didn't get exactly what he wanted.

Reeling off the back of their tense dinner last night,

Elliot has come to an abrupt decision.

It's things that are important to me that just aren't a match, right?

And this is just a result of that.

It's also an experiment.

Like it's not a guaranteed happily ever after.

We were told right throughout

like that it would be challenging.

And like, we've taken two planes, a bus,

a ferry to come here.

Like we could spend the next two days,

actually just have some fun.

It's kind of pointless to me.

It's very frustrating.

Like running away after three days.

You made a commitment to me, and you're -

I would commit as far as they respected my non-negotiables.

So what are your non-negotiables like?

Well, I want someone that's younger than me.

Mm-hm. I - like 25.

Someone wants to have a big family.

Someone that's right into exercise, like me.

I want someone that is, like, not into superficial things.

You've made an assumption,

you haven't actually put in any effort.

Like we haven't even had deep conversations.

Like, you really don't know anything about me.

I don't need you to tell me what I want.

You know what I mean, like...

where there's no upside for me.

(DRAMATIC MUSIC BUILDS)

He's leaving.

You know, like this is not a constructive conversation.

You know what I mean, like,

where there's no upside for me.

(CHATTER) Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah.

Alright.

He's leaving.

I don't think there's anything that I can do or say.

So dramatic.

You are the most inflexible person I've ever met.

It's a very unattractive trait.

Doesn't matter how old.

You're quite passive aggressive. OK.

It's actually fascinating to watch a grown man throwing

a tantrum because he didn't get exactly what he wanted.

It's a huge cop out and it's very disappointing.

I would love the experts to sit down and explain why

they put two people together that had

non-negotiables that didn't line up.

Like, why would they do that?

I gave it the shot that I said I would.

Based on the match.

After two days?

No one ever said that this was going to be easy.

(STAMMERS) Robby.

It's done.

I thought I'd be the difficult one in this.

I just think that it's very close minded and selfish.

Like he's also robbing me of this experience.

We've left so much behind and like so much

preparation has gone into getting here.

I just really wanted this.

I know that I can definitely be difficult, and I mean,

Elliot wasn't what I would normally choose.

But I was still willing to try.

Like, I was so open to breaking, like old relationship patterns,

learning from the experts what I can do better...

Hi, how are you?

I'm Elliot. I'm Lauren.

Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you.

..and finding love.

So yeah, it's like such a wasted opportunity.

Which is disappointing.

Tomorrow night... Whoo!

..the honeymoons are heating up.

You actually got my boob.

Last night in the bedroom was good.

There was intimacy with Paul last night.

I don't feel like you've had a go since you saw me.

Katie and Tim reach breaking point.

I've tried everything else,

and now this isn't working either.

This is a disaster.

Raw honesty causes tension for Awhina and Adrian.

I'm really taken back by that.

I feel extremely disconnected to you right now.

You need to help me now.

This could be a big issue.

And...

Ah. What?

Is this happening right now?

An unbelievable turn of events.

It is my pleasure to pronounce you to be husband and wife.

When out next two couples marry at first sight.

Oh, stop!

Oh, my god. I'm trapped!
