the terrible destruction plaguing our planet.

She sends five magic rings to five special young people.

From North America, Wheeler, with the power of fire.

From Asia, Gi, with the power of water.

And from South America, Ma-Ti, with the power of heart.

When the five powers combine

they summon Earth's greatest champion, Captain Planet!

To one person, a sacred place might be a cathedral.

To another, it could be a monument.

Or even simply a mountain.

People think vandalism is easy to recognize.

Graffiti, for example.

But building something can be vandalism, too

if it damages land that is sacred to someone's culture.

We must learn to respect what is important to others

and encourage them to respect what is important to us.
