Jun Tao!

Cheng De!

Cheng De.

Prince Yuanlie, please save Cheng De.

Don't worry.

I didn't expect anyone to escape from Zongzheng's Residence.

I was careless.

Forgive me, Master.

Cheng De spoke with the informant.

You can't let him live.

Otherwise,

we would be in trouble.

Don't worry, Master.

I have a way to kill him.

The General sent news.

He needs you to do something for him.

What is it?

The general said

that Cheng De came in contact with Official Zongzheng's servant.

He might already know something.

To be safe, we can't let him live.

This medicine will worsen the condition of a wounded person and cause him to die.

What are you doing?

I'm going to visit Cheng De.

Aren't you going to move?

Your Highness, Prince Gaoyang gave orders.

My lord is resting. No one can disturb him.

Is it including me?

Cheng De is like a brother to His Highness.

I'm going to visit him.

Your Highness.

I just came to see him.

Do your thing. Don't mind me.

Yes.

Royal Physician, how is he?

He is in a very serious condition.

I've already let him take medicines and used acupuncture

to ensure that he is safe.

His Highness and I treat Cheng De as a brother.

He is wounded now and I can't do anything.

I'll just feed him this medicine.

He has received so much kindness from you.

He'll surely recover.

Come on, my lord.

Take your medicine.

My lord.

Are you all right?

Didn't I tell you no one can disturb him?

Your Highness.

I'm just worried about Cheng De's condition.

I...

All right. You may all go.

Leave.

Yes.

What happened earlier?

Li Changle wanted to kill me.

It's not safe here.

Let's go somewhere else.

Your Highness.

This is what the informant gave me.

Young Lady, it's Chiyun Nan.

That person is Chiyun Nan.

Chiyun Nan?

Isn't Chiyun Nan dead?

How can that person be Chiyun Nan?

I fought with him.

Even if he tried to hide it, I could still tell.

I wasn't sure initially.

But I think I heard a few masked men call him "General."

Since Chiyun Nan escaped death, why doesn't he flee?

Why did he have to kill Official Zongzheng?

Could it be...

Could it be he is the mastermind behind Crown Prince Jingmu's case?

It can't be him.

The Chiyun family has already fallen,

what reason would he have

to kill Official Zongzheng?

There must be someone else behind him.

And this person

was covering for him.

Chiyun Nan rubbed Grandfather the wrong way.

Even if he managed to escape death, he is like a lost dog.

But who currently has such power and courage

to risk hiding Chiyun Nan's identity?

It seems

there is someone who will benefit the most from that case.

Do you mean Tuoba Yu?

Chiyun Nan has long sided with Tuoba Yu.

Other than Tuoba Yu, who else can make Chiyun Nan obey?

If that masked man is really Chiyun Nan

and the mastermind behind Chiyun Nan is really Tuoba Yu,

that means...

That means...

My guess is right.

Tuoba Yu was the one who caused my father to die.

Your Highness.

Are you going to Tuoba Yu now?

We don't have any evidence.

What can we do to him?

Killing my parents is absolutely irreconcilable. If I don't take revenge,

how can I face my parents?

Don't stop me.

Tuoba Jun.

Can you really avenge your parents' death if you act rashly now?

If you insist on going, I'll go with you.

I'll go with you regardless of how dangerous it is.

Weiyoung.

Is power really that important?

Because of power,

he ruthlessly killed his own sibling.

I must seek justice

for my parents.

Let's do that together.

We have to split into two teams.

First, capture Chiyun Nan,

follow the clues, and expose Tuoba Yu.

Second, find the account book.

To capture Chiyun Nan,

we can start with Li Changle.

Minde.

You come with me to lure out Chiyun Nan.

Okay.

Weiyoung.

Find the account book through the lead given by the informant.

Young Lady, I'll go with you.

It's my responsibility to protect you.

-But you're wounded... -I'm fine.

By the way, should we tell the Ninth Princess about this?

Our confirmed target now is Tuoba Yu.

You and Tuoba Yu are both her relatives.

You're both dear to her.

She has always been so kind.

I'm afraid she would be in a dilemma.

Minde is right.

Let's keep this from her first.

We don't need to drag Aunt Di into this.

Lately, you always leave early and come home late.

You must be tired.

This soup is nutritious.

Drink some more.

You too.

You're busy with affairs in the manor every day.

Eat some more.

Hearing that from you is more than enough for me.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Eat first.

I have urgent matters to do.

Really? Are you sure?

Of course.

We've lost the lead on Official Zongzheng,

but another account book is in Ziying Temple outside the city.

They say that the one who wrote the account book

is very close to the temple owner.

Others just don't know that.

That's great. We must not delay.

Let's set off tonight.

No matter what we do,

I have to get the account book from that temple owner.

Your Highness, don't worry. I already know what to do.

It's great if he gives us the account book voluntarily.

Otherwise, I've already thought of 800 ways to deal with him.

Your Highness.

Do you think this idea would work?

Tonight,

we will know for sure.

There's another account book?

Her Highness heard it very clearly.

Another account book is in Ziying Temple outside the city.

General, what should we do now?

Regardless if this is true or not,

we can't be careless if it's related to the account book.

General, let's inform His Highness first.

His Highness said you shouldn't act on your own anymore.

But His Highness went to the military camp today.

We might not make it if we wait for him to come back.

And His Highness was dissatisfied with me because of what happened before.

If I get the account book and make up for my mistake,

then we can prove our worth to His Highness.

General...

Our fate is tied together with His Highness already.

If His Highness falls, the Chiyun family will never be able to recover again.

So no matter what, we can't let Tuoba Jun get the account book.

Tell our men.

Tonight,

it would be a hard battle.

Yes.

General.

I'm going too.

You?

Since you said that I'm the best suicide warrior,

how can I not go to battle with you?

Okay.

ZIYING TEMPLE

This is the place.

Where's Weiyoung?

My lords.

You arrived at this late hour.

What can I do for you?

I want to see Master Qingsong.

Master is already resting.

Please come back tomorrow.

We want to see Master tonight.

Don't you know who he is?

Your Highness, Prince Gaoyang.

Please wait a moment at our hall inside.

I'll inform Master immediately.

There's no need. It's urgent.

Bring me to him directly.

-Your Highness, this way, please. -Stay here as my reinforcement.

General.

When I was away,

you took good care of the Chiyun household.

General.

Hong Luo.

If we are unlucky and tonight's mission fails,

take care

of the Chiyun household.

You are the only person I trust in this world.

Your Highness, this way, please.

Your Highness.

I visited the temple today for the account book.

You should know

the significance of the account book. I don't need to explain.

Your Highness, please keep this well.

We've got the account book. Let's leave quickly.

Surrender the account book and I'll spare you.

Is this what you want?

Chiyun Nan.

We let you go, yet you won't leave.

Now that you want to go, you can't leave anymore.

So you've long known my identity.

Who instructed you

to massacre the Zongzheng household?

It's okay if you don't want to say who. I already know.

The one who has always given you instructions is Tuoba Yu.

He caused my father to die.

He killed the Zongzheng family to cover up his crime.

You two colluded in doing evil,

framed the loyal and kind and killed innocent lives just for power.

Is power more important than life and blood relations?

There will be someone who can make you talk.

Take him back.

Report to His Majesty tomorrow morning.

Let's see how you can keep your mouth shut in front of His Majesty.

Get up.

Tuoba Yu!

General.

General.

Actually...

Actually, I've always loved you.

I thought I can always stay by your side.

But I don't have a chance to do so anymore.

Not anymore.

Tuoba Jun.

Li Weiyoung.

I want you all to die.

Your Highness. I've fulfilled my mission.

I've killed Chiyun Nan and all of his men.

He brought it upon himself.

He kept acting on his own.

If I hadn't asked you to watch him in secret

and he had fallen into Tuoba Jun's hands,

wouldn't I be ruined now?

But I think Prince Gaoyang already suspects you.

Even if he had guessed that I was the mastermind,

Chiyun Nan is already dead.

He doesn't have any proof to testify against me.

But he won't easily let you go.

Our battle is one that will only end when one of us dies.

And I definitely won't be merciful.

They are martial arts experts.

I followed them all the way.

They entered Prince Nan'an's manor in the end.

It's Tuoba Yu indeed.

Did you find anything?

I went to all the jade stores in the capital.

No one has seen this jade.

I also went to the Jewelry Central.

They got to the secret drawer.

It had been destroyed.

The people nearby said that a bunch of men in black did it.

It must have been Chiyun Nan and his men.

Then does the informant

have any relatives or friends?

I've asked the inns and bars around the Jewelry Central.

People who know him said he has always come and gone alone.

It seems like we've reached the end of this lead.

No matter what,

we must find the account book.

Chiyun Nan?

Take him away.

Chiyun Nan is the real killer behind the massacre in Zongzheng's Residence?

Didn't he die long ago?

Who can tell me

what exactly is going on?

Your Majesty.

Chiyun Nan didn't die back then.

He just hid his identity and sneaked back into Ping City.

He had been hiding in the capital,

and I didn't know?

It's because

a powerful official helped him hide.

And he became an assassin for this powerful official.

He assassinates people for him.

As for the massacre in Zongzheng's Residence,

that powerful official

is the mastermind.

Who is this mastermind?

We don't have proof yet,

but I have more reason to believe

that the massacre

is related to Crown Prince Jingmu's case.

What?

Your Majesty.

Crown Prince Jingmu was framed.

The so-called corruption and amassment of great wealth

was just a setup.

A setup?

Who framed the Crown Prince?

Official Zongzheng had an account book.

It can prove Crown Prince Jingmu's innocence.

I request Your Majesty to order the investigation

of Crown Prince Jingmu's case.

Father.

There's something I don't understand, and I want to ask Prince Gaoyang.

I'm investigating this together with Prince Gaoyang.

Accordingly, if Prince Gaoyang found any clues,

he should let me know about it.

Based on my understanding,

Jing Zhaoyin is also unaware of what happened to Chiyun Nan.

Prince Gaoyang acted on his own behind our backs.

I can't help but suspect his intentions.

I wonder what your explanation is.

This is an important matter.

I have to be careful with my actions.

But we're just hearing this from you.

Do you have any proof?

Otherwise,

with just a corpse,

you want to make Father believe that he had something to do with

the massacre in Zongzheng's Residence and even Crown Prince Jingmu's case.

Isn't it too farfetched?

Yes, Jun.

Where's the account book?

I...

For now...

I don't have it.

-But what I said is true. -Jun.

I know that you're very concerned about Li Weiyoung's safety.

You want to help absolve her of her crime soon.

But the case of an official's massacre is such an important matter.

His Majesty's command is very solemn.

How can we take it lightly?

How can court affairs be affected by personal affection?

You're still a kid after all.

What I said is true.

-Chiyun Nan is really the killer. -Shut up!

For the sake of Li Weiyoung,

you've defied me numerous times.

Are you ignoring our kingdom's laws now?

I'm not!

Tuoba Yu.

Do you really think you can fool everyone?

It's you.

It's you who killed Chiyun Nan.

You're the mastermind.

Grandfather.

Prince Nan'an caused my father to die.

Prince Nan'an massacred the Zongzheng household.

That's right, I don't have proof now,

but I believe someday,

your crimes will all be exposed.

Father.

If he wants to blame me, he can say anything he wants.

I'm innocent.

Please investigate thoroughly.

Grandfather.

You know my personality.

If I don't have proof, I won't accuse my own uncle.

I've already captured Chiyun Nan now.

I could have caught him alive

and let Chiyun Nan confess everything in front of you,

but Chiyun Nan was assassinated.

That's why I don't have proof anymore.

But the Heavens know the truth.

That's enough.

I never expected my descendants

to get to this point.

You're attacking each other right in front of me.

You really embarrass me.

You've also embarrassed the Tuoba clan.

Look at yourselves.

Do both of you look like relatives?

One accuses his uncle without proof.

The other insults his nephew without regard.

Don't think I'm not aware.

You both really don't deserve to be my descendants.

Scram.

Scram, both of you.

Father, don't be mad.

I'm not sure what happened that let Jun misunderstand me.

To prove my innocence, please give them one more chance.

If they can find proof within the given time,

you can punish me to your discretion.

Okay.

I'll give you three more days.

Within three days, if you can't find proof...

If I can't find proof within three days,

you can punish me to your discretion.

Okay.

JINGGONG GATE

Why did you say that in front of His Majesty?

We all know that the chances of finding proof is minimal.

Tuoba Yu said those things to infuriate you.

You'll just fall for his trick if you do so.

Tuoba Yu caused my father to die.

Yet he pretended to be innocent in front of Grandfather.

Seeing his fake expressions make me want to expose him.

He wants you to make a mistake in front of His Majesty.

We don't have any proof.

Your accusation would only

make His Majesty think that you're making a fuss for no reason.

Unknowingly, he'll be siding with Tuoba Yu.

That wouldn't be good for us.

I don't care anymore.

I must beat him.

I know you hate him.

However, we must still be rational.

You're a hypocrite.

You're despicable.

I'm despicable?

Do you think your father was a good person?

I won't allow you to insult my father.

For those who want to succeed to the throne,

whose hands aren't stained with blood?

Me,

Prince Dongping,

and your father

are all the same.

Your father has a good son.

It's a shame

that you'll lose to me

just like your father.

Tuoba Yu.

Tuoba Yu.

You'll get retribution from all the ruthless things you did.

Retribution?

I only believe that life is what you make it.

Someday,

I'll surely get what I want.

He is ruthless and unscrupulous.

If we fight with him in the open now,

I'm afraid he would no longer restrain his actions.

I firmly believe that good wins over evil.

I won't admit defeat.

What?

Nan is dead?

He was fine yesterday.

And he even received news

and went to get the account book.

That was a trap.

Tuoba Jun used you.

Why did you bring so many people here?

You must have already heard the news.

We don't need to pretend anymore.

So you've really been using me.

You've used me so many times.

You've hurt my feelings.

Is that how you should treat me?

Li Changle.

You killed my mother.

Killing my mother is irreconcilable.

How do you want me to treat you?

You said I killed your mother?

You're wrong.

Li Weiyoung is the one who killed your mother.

And I...

I'm your legal wife.

How can you treat me this way?

Until now, you're still trying to frame Weiyoung.

If you really have proof,

kill me.

This way, you and Li Weiyoung can be together forever.

Kill me. Come on.

You don't have proof.

What can you do?

I'll be your wife forever.

You can't get rid of me.

You won't be able to get rid of me.

Watch her carefully.

No one can enter or leave.

-Yes. -Yes.

Tuoba Jun!

I hate you!

I curse you!

I curse that you won't stay together with Li Weiyoung.

You're destined to be separated by life and death.

I curse you, Tuoba Jun!

I curse you!

Since the Crown Prince died,

my descendants

have been fighting each other.

Maybe electing an heir apparent

can stop their fighting.

Zong Ai.

Among my descendants,

who do you think stands out the most?

I wouldn't dare to give my opinion.

Go ahead.

I spare you from any crimes.

Come here and speak.

Your Majesty is in the prime of your life.

You don't need to elect an heir apparent too soon.

If I elect an heir apparent now,

I can train him.

This way,

the others won't aspire for it anymore.

The relationship between relatives can then be peaceful again.

Zong Ai.

Tell me.

Who stands out the most?

Regarding who stands out,

of course, it's Prince Nan'an and Prince Gaoyang.

But I can't tell who stands out more between them.

However, I think

Prince Nan'an's personality is more similar to you.

Yu

is decisive.

He was like me when I was young.

As for Jun,

I used to think he was quite methodical in doing things.

I had high hopes for him.

But now, I think

he is still a bit too young.

He is too emotional in doing things.

He is not mature enough.

Why did you suddenly bring me here?

This is our hometown's tradition.

Hanging this on the tree

can send your thoughts to your deceased loved ones.

Grandmother.

Father.

The person who killed you has been executed.

Liang's people have also been rid of their fate as being slaves.

And I

have finally found

someone worthy to marry.

You can now rest in peace

in the other world.

Father.

Mother.

I've found your real killer.

No matter how hard it is,

I will surely seek justice for you.

Also,

I'll continue being with the one I love.

You don't need to worry about me anymore.

Look.

They came to visit us.

Tuoba Jun.

Do you know why I brought you here?

Because I want it to tell you in front of my family.

That even if your parents left you,

even if your relatives betray you,

you will still have me.

I'll always be by your side.

I'll never leave you.

I've already detained Li Changle.

Our plans won't leak out from here anymore.

During this time, we must be extra careful.

Tuoba Yu definitely won't let us find proof.

He will surely go to any length to stop us.

The proof must be inside this rock.

But what does this rock signify?

The informant

is from Zongzheng's Residence.

This rock must have something to do with Zongzheng's Residence.

Let's split up the team.

Weiyoung and I will check Zongzheng's Residence again.

Your Highness.

Because of the mutual trading treaty, you'll be in contact with many officials.

Take note of news in the royal court.

Cheng De and Jun Tao. Watch Prince Nan'an's manor secretly.

See if they are making any moves

to prevent them from conspiring against us.

So that we can also be prepared.

-Yes. -Yes.

Jun Tao.

You've just recovered.

You must be careful not to expose your identity.

Let's go.

Your Highness, there's news from the palace.

His Majesty seems to want to elect an heir apparent.

He praised you in front of everyone.

And he said Prince Gaoyang is not mature enough and is too emotional.

It seems your plan to infuriate him worked.

That's just the first step.

After three days

and they haven't found any clues yet,

when Tuoba Jun makes a big fuss because of Li Weiyoung,

that would really infuriate Father.

Father fought battles all his life.

How can he leave his kingdom to someone who is so emotional in doing things?

But I'm afraid that they'll find something.

They're very alert now.

The men I sent couldn't even keep track of them.

If we can't find their whereabouts,

cause some troubles for them

and scatter their strengths.

Your Majesty, I have something to report.

Regarding Crown Prince Jingmu's corruption case years ago,

I think it's fishy.

It's just that the Crown Prince suddenly died afterward.

Your Majesty was too saddened and didn't want to mention this anymore.

So I suppressed my doubts.

Now I request Your Majesty to investigate this case again.

Your Majesty.

Crown Prince Jingmu was generous and kind. He loved the people as his own children.

I still couldn't believe

that he had committed those unjust acts.

I request Your Majesty to reinvestigate this case

and clear the Crown Prince's name.

Your Majesty.

Crown Prince Jingmu might be kindhearted,

but even saints make mistakes.

We got all the evidence back then.

You can't say the case was misjudged.

Also, it's been a long time.

Those who were involved in this case have mostly died.

I'm afraid

not only won't it be beneficial to reinvestigate this case,

it would even bring about great chaos.

Your Majesty.

Official Wang is right.

I object to the reinvestigation of the Crown Prince's case.

-Please reconsider. -Please reconsider.

-Please reconsider, Your Majesty. -Please reconsider, Your Majesty.

-Please reconsider, Your Majesty. -Please reconsider, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

The Crown Prince's case was hastily concluded back then.

Didn't you also suspect

that there was a hidden story behind it?

Grandfather.

Father had always trusted and respected you.

Don't you know Father well?

We can't bring the dead back to life,

but can you really not care that Father might have been wronged?

Okay.

I've decided to reinvestigate Crown Prince Jingmu's case.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

TAIJI HALL

You were the one

who arranged what happened today, right?

You have the power right now.

You can influence the court affairs indeed,

but you can't control Grandfather.

To Grandfather, Father's death

was very painful.

You can't stop him from finding the truth.

Why?

Are you scared?

Are you scared that Grandfather

would find out what you did?

Jun.

As the son of a consort who sinned,

I was looked down upon and treated badly.

Father didn't want to see me and my brothers despised me.

You can't imagine

how many insults I've gotten and how much unfair treatment I've experienced.

You don't know how many trials I've been through

to get to where I am today.

Do you really think

that I'll be afraid of your challenge today?

It's not a challenge,

but a punishment.

You can either win or lose in a challenge.

but I won't lose.

So it's a punishment.

Where does your baseless confidence

come from?

Tuoba Yu.

I don't care how glamorous your life has been, but I'm telling you.

After three days,

it's over for you.
