I speak to dead people, and they speak to me.

This person feels like a monster.

I got a desperate call from a single mother of three who says she and her

are getting terrorized by the paranormal.

I feel hopeless as a mother.

And this has been going on for four years consistently.

And sometimes it's daily.

It's real.

And I need help.

But here's the weird thing. It wasn't her idea to reach out to us.

She was talked into it by two of her son's grade school teachers.

Now, that is definitely a first.

And I'm hoping Amy and I can help her out.

So, Brooke, This is a beautiful place to raise children.

But when we spoke on the phone, you sounded pretty frightened.

What the hell's going on?

I need help.

I'm tired.

Okay, so Brooke, let's start with some other basics.

That's my daughter, Novi. She's four.

That is my daughter, Michaela. She's 23, and my son, Kingston. He's nine.

Okay, so they all live here now?

Michaela used to, but she moved out about two years ago, and she will be

back in in a couple months.

I have a granddaughter now.

Ah, okay.

Is she happy about coming home?

No. She's terrified.

Because of what's going on here?

Yeah. and she would have to move down into the basement.

What about your little one as far as experiences?

Is she having any?

Absolutely. She has probably the most.

I recently started documenting it and recording it.

That just breaks my heart.

So something's touching her.

This is just one of the examples of many.

Now, you told me your son's teachers had suggested to call her.

That's a first. Yeah.

Tell me about that. What happened?

They did bring up that he is playing and talking and seeing dead children.

And he did not want them to tell me.

Okay, Brooke, obviously there's a lot going on here. So just give me a list of

what you guys are experiencing.

So we hear strange things.

We're seeing shadow people.

Things are getting really violent.

It's affecting my health.

What about your health? What are we talking about? I get headaches. The

is horrible.

Sometimes it almost feels like I'm sedated.

Exciting. What do you think is here?

I feel like there's a spiritual warfare going on here.

The man who killed that dead girl I saw tries to be a shadow man.

There's fighting going on between this dead woman and this dead guy.

So all of a sudden, the living person's having massive anxiety, massive panic,

like almost panic attacks when the fighting's going on.

This person's getting wicked headaches.

Ah, the head.

She does these headaches to distract the living and to get the dead girl

out of the room. He stops her from talking because he doesn't want anybody

know that he killed her.

All right, so is this your bedroom? Yeah. Tell me about some of the

you have.

I'm seeing shadow figures.

Is it possible you're getting a shadow from outside?

No. Why is that?

I have my curtains all closed at all times.

Okay, so what else is going on? When I was walking through my living room,

something grabbed my purse strap and jerked me.

Okay, so how hard were you jerked? Show me.

Are you sure?

Yeah, yeah.

Oh, okay.

All right. Anything else physical happen to you?

Yes. I was attacked when I was giving my daughter, Novi, a bath.

Okay, what happened?

Out of nowhere, my arms started burning like acid was on them. I actually have a

photo I want to show you of the scratches.

Oof.

Those are definitely scratches. This ain't a rash or anything.

No.

Why don't you just get the hell out of here?

I fought for this house.

This is our house.

This is your house, right? Mm -hmm. It's not their house.

Right.

Okay. I'm not going to give up.

So the dead woman that I saw outside does come in here often.

I think this person is sensitive, and she keeps trying to talk to this person.

I see her, like, shaking the bed.

The person's feeling like the bed's moving, which is, you know, freaking her

out. And the dead lady's getting angry because she wants to get the fuck out of

here.

She's touching the lady's hair, trying to talk, and then she gets louder and

louder and louder.

So there's a definite miscommunication here between the dead and the living.

So, Michaela, Mom said you moved out of here because of the activity that was

going on?

Yes, it was that bad.

I understand that you're moving back here with your two -year -old daughter.

is that?

Well, I'm going back to school to be a nurse, and it's going to help me

financially. So the basement, why did you bring me down here? What's the

Okay. And this is where I felt a lot of the activity going on. But this would be

the only room for me to go.

Okay, so take me through the experiences you had when you were living here.

So one night I woke up in my room, and my body was completely paralyzed.

I had tears coming down my eyes. I was crying because I was so scared.

I couldn't even scream if I wanted to.

Okay, were you on any kind of medication or anything like that? No. So not

taking any weed?

No. Okay, so what else can you tell me?

I was in my bedroom once, and when I looked to the doorway, there was a

figure. Okay, so now your mom mentioned about a shadow figure that she saw in

the hallway. What did it look like to you?

It looked like a smaller person.

And I honestly start crying because I was so scared.

Right. Because I felt like something bad was about to happen to me.

It's no wonder you don't want to come back here. I mean, what else is going

I'm constantly feeling watched in this house.

It's very creepy. It feels creepy. And one of the reasons it does is one of the

places I often felt watched was when I was in the shower.

And it felt like someone was in the room staring at me.

So, listen, I'm not trying to pick on you, but you're moving back.

Here with a two -year -old. You think that's such a good idea?

No, I honestly don't think it's a good idea. But at the same time, I don't have

a choice.

Okay.

That dude is a little pervy.

And he does watch women in the shower.

Don't like that.

It's not good.

He does get really angry down there.

The basement?

Yeah, that's his lair.

Sometimes he literally shakes the entire house.

They hear things from him all the time.

He would not like anybody down here living wise, period.

Hey, Kingston, there you are.

Yeah. How are you, buddy?

Good. What are you doing out here? You playing?

Yeah. So Mom was telling me you're having some experiences in the house.

Yeah. Yeah, what's going on?

Uh... You could tell me.

Well... It's just I need to find out what's going on. Mom said you have some

friends that you talk to that nobody else can see?

Yeah. So what can you tell me about them?

Um... The first one, he likes to play Legos with me. And the second one, likes

to watch TV with me.

Let's talk about the third one.

What's his story?

He doesn't really do anything.

Usually, he's outside.

Does he scare you at all?

No. Well, I don't know.

What are you hoping we can do for you?

Well, if I can have my normal life back to being a playful boy, playing with

Legos, watch TV, eat a lot, and play with my friends at daycare.

So you want to go back to being, having a normal life and not seeing people that

nobody else sees, right?

Yeah. And that's all I can tell you.

I'm getting a scared little kid in this room.

This person is hearing.

Something coming down the hallway.

I think it's the killer guy, but he looks different.

And then there's like, I think, I want to say scratching at the door.

And then the doors opening and then there's like this black mist.

But yeah, about this tall, kind of rolling into the room.

It was like.

You know, a very aggressive feeling is coming from this thing. Like, I'm going

to take you out.

And this person's scared.

At some point, too, this person's being held down. Like, I see this shadow

figure leaning over and holding this person down by their shoulders.

Like, can feel that something...

Right there. And they can't move. They can't talk.

He seems to enjoy torturing them.

After talking to Kingston, I got the feeling he's dealing with a lot more

he's letting on.

So I reached out to the teachers who talked Brooke into calling us in to see

what he shared with them.

So. What made you guys think Kingston had some issues going on with him?

He just kind of talked to me about things that he was seeing at home and

was a little nervous and apprehensive about.

Did he get specific with you? Yeah, he told me that there were three children

and that two children interact more with him than the third and that the third

is not as nice.

He got really bad vibes.

off of him and that he was, like, really mean.

He said something interesting to me. He says, well, if they do leave, then I can

get my life back to normal.

That, to me, makes me feel like right now it's bothering him a lot.

It's really weighing heavy on him.

He is struggling.

Ladies, you're convinced that what's going on with Kingston is paranormal

-related and not anything else? Yes, my family actually grew up in the area, and

we've had experiences as well.

He's a good kid and it's a good family. It is a good family.

So I'm curious, you guys being teachers and suggesting the paranormal, were you

worried about, you know, any kind of backlash or anything like that?

No, I wasn't. After you teach for over 20 years, you see a lot and you

experience a lot.

And you know your kids. And Kingston is not one to make up stories to scare

people. Okay.

I feel like this person wasn't being taken seriously for a while and

has seen a lot of... I think that

this person is actually kind of happy that we're

here. Because I think this person is very tired and scared.

We've done quite a few cases here over the years, so I've made a bunch of local

contacts. One of them is a genealogist.

She just called me, saying a couple of the original owners of Brooks' property

have a story I definitely need to know about.

Well, Mary, it's good to see you again. I appreciate you helping me out.

All right, so what can you tell me about this family?

All right, well, back in 1916, there were two brothers, Michael and John

Hartman, and they bought three lots right here where your client's property

today. It seems that they were planning to move their mom on to one of the lots

because she had been widowed when they were very young boys. Okay, so the kids

were looking to take care of their mother. Yeah.

All right, so they seem like a close -knit family. Do we know anything else

about them? Well, they were immigrants from Transylvania.

which was the Catholic region of Romania.

All right, so we got two brothers that own my client's property. Let's start

with Michael.

All right, well, Michael actually wound up moving to Indiana shortly after they

bought the property.

Okay. And he worked as a truck driver for the public library.

But it turned out Michael was leading sort of a double life.

He was running a bootlegging operation and a speakeasy, and he was arrested for

that in 1930.

I have a newspaper article about that.

Does he do any jail time? Does he plea out? What happened to this guy?

Presumably he did a little bit of time, and he wound up dying in Indiana in 1956

at the age of 73.

There's something really strange about this Tiller guy.

He is afraid of Catholicism, so that's interesting.

I feel like this bad guy did live here. Something about mother possibly

living with her, some kind of, like, government job. Like, I mean, obviously

got benefits.

Definitely mentally ill.

Okay, so we got one brother who was a bootlegger and died at the age of 73 in

Indiana. Okay, so what about John? What do we know about him?

Unlike Michael, John stayed on the property.

Things turned tragic for John almost immediately.

So what happens with this guy?

He had a wife, and she came down with a severe case of pneumonia. She was only

27 years old when she died in 1919.

All right, so does this guy wind up remarrying at all? Yes, he marries

pretty quickly. He marries a woman named Johanna.

Okay, so is there anything else I should know about this family?

By 1940, John was diagnosed with terrible kidney disease.

He suffered with this for 10 years.

All right, so this guy had a miserable existence for all this time.

Yes, he did.

He died on your client's property in 1950 at the age of 63.

What about Johanna? Did she stick around?

Johanna stayed on the land for another 34 years.

She wound up dying in 1984 at the age of 86.

So it's a sad story. You know, comes here as an immigrant, starts a new life,

loses his wife young, and then 10 years of suffering from something like that

had to be incredibly hard for this guy.

Yeah, he suffered a lot.

There's a couple, so man and wife, I guess both are deceased.

They ran upstairs, so I need to get upstairs.

Okay, I don't know where they went.

I think they're hiding in a closet.

I think he died before she did.

I just got a call from my old friend, journalist Lou Abed.

Now, he said he found something that may help my case.

Tells me a teenage girl died in a lake less than a mile from Brooke's house.

At first, everyone thought it was a drowning.

That is, until it started to look like a murder.

Well, it's good to see you again.

Thanks for helping me out on another case.

So before we get to the drowning, what do we know about this victim? Her name

was Molly Petalinger. She was 15 at the time. She was...

Born and raised here in Euclid. At the time, she was dating a guy by the name

John McKay. He was seven years her senior. He was 22 years of age.

Okay, Lou, so let's get to the drowning. What happened?

Well, it happened on June 7, 1928.

John and Molly were right here at Euclid Beach. They took a rowboat out into the

lake. A few hours later, the rowboat comes back to the beach, and it's

overturned. Okay, so...

Can I assume they had a search party? Yeah, they started looking for them, but

they didn't find anything right away. But about two weeks later, a fisherman

happened upon a body of a woman. She was wrapped in fisherman's line, and then

they determined it was, in fact, Molly.

But they never found John, and it was presumed that he had drowned as well.

Here's a picture of her, an article at the time.

All right, so when did they start considering this a murder?

Molly's sister gets a letter, a very strange letter that's expressing

and some guilt over Molly's death. And interestingly enough, it's signed by a

fictitious author.

The police decide to reopen the case now, and they put out a citywide search

John McKay. Here's an article on it right there.

All right, so did they ever find this guy?

No, they looked for about a year and a half.

And John McKay has never been found. It's very strange, this story.

I'm more on the side of there's a little foul play here. I would tend to agree.

He's probably, he probably found a new life somewhere.

The killer guy hides his victim down here.

This is where he likes to keep the lady.

She did not get buried.

He left her outside and she rotted really quick.

This dude killed her and he thinks nobody knew about this.

But here he like keeps her and he keeps burying her and burying her and burying

her.

All I hear from him is day dead, day dead, day dead, day dead.

He just wants her to be quiet and disappear.

Because he doesn't want her telling everybody anything about her being

So far, I've got a terrified mother worried about the safety of her children

a property where one of the first owners suffered a long and painful death.

But I want to see if there's anything else.

Searching through old records, I make a horrifying discovery.

There was a deadly fire at a school near Brooke's house.

I'm heading over to meet a local author who wrote a book about this tragedy.

Now, he says the worst part is it was completely preventable.

So, Dr. Badal, I appreciate you helping me out with this case and taking the

time. Before we get to this horrific fire, what can you tell me about the

school? Well, the school was originally constructed in 1901.

This is what the finished building looked like.

300 to 350 children were distributed among nine different classrooms.

Do me a favor. Take me to the fire. What happened?

Well, it was March 4th, 1908.

14 -year -old girl. She has to go to the lavatory.

And as she walked down the stairway, she saw a little wisp of smoke coming up

between the cracks of one of the steps.

So she called to the janitor, whom she saw.

And when he saw the smoke, he ran into one of the classrooms and pulled the

alarm. Where did things go wrong?

Virtually everywhere.

When the janitor opened the doors at both sides of the building, the wind

went like this, and the entire interior of the school was wood.

So it turned it into a big chimney. It turned it into a chimney.

And there was a second factor involved.

The interior was Georgia pine, and the janitor cleaned it and kept it looking

nice by using oil, which is an accelerant.

Does the fire department eventually show up? Yes.

Okay, so what happened once they got there? The pressure in the hydrants was

low, and they didn't have ladders that were big enough to reach to the second

and third floor.

Any fire escapes?

There was one.

In a building that big?

Originally, the builder wanted to use three, but the school board balked at

cost. Okay.

I'm not surprised.

There's actually some footage that was taken of the fire.

Unbelievable.

These kids never had a chance.

No.

Now, you told me how many kids went to the school. What was the final death

count?

172 children were killed, two teachers, and one would -be rescuer.

The fire was so bad that 19 of the children never were identified.

So now, Jim, when we spoke on the phone, you said that this might have been

preventable. What do you mean by that?

They determined that the cause of the fire was an overheated steam pipe too

close to a wooden joist.

Okay. It was a design flaw.

Was there an investigation?

Anybody charged?

No. There was a very extensive investigation, but no one was actually

Slaughtered innocents. That's a good title. So let me ask you a question. As

as school fires go, where does this rank in our country? This is the worst

school fire in American history.

I saw several disturbing things on my walk, but the dead killer burying his

female victim in the basement concerns me the most. I saw a grave, and

it had fresh earth put on top, and then around it, it had little stones.

What I saw of him was basically the back of him, and he had like an old

-fashioned shovel.

Amy, is that what you saw?

Yes, that's what I saw.

Now that Amy and I have completed our investigations,

We're ready to reveal our findings to each other and our clients for the first

time.

So, guys, this is Amy. She's going to be doing the reveal from another room so

she can focus on the dead in your case without any distractions.

Amy, this is Brooke and her daughter, Michaela.

Now, Brooke is a single mom who lives here with her 4 -year -old daughter,

and her 9 -year -old son, Kingston.

Now, Michaela used to live here, but she had some terrible experiences and moved

out. But now, for financial reasons, she has to move back in with her two -year

-old. And she doesn't think it's going to be safe.

And that's why they call this in.

Unless Amy's got some questions for you, she'll tell us about her walk.

During my walk, I encountered four deceased people. The first ones that I

to talk about are an older couple.

I believe that it's a man and a wife.

I could not really gather if they had lived here or not.

They were both kind of, you know, on the heavier side because of their age

mainly. They looked to be in their 60s, late 60s, early 70s, I think.

I do believe the male died prior to the female.

It's not a lot to go on, but a few things remind me of a guy who used to

this property and lived on it with two different wives.

His name was John Hartman.

Hartman came here from Transylvania, saved up and bought the property in

Now, his time here was brutal. In 1919, his first wife died from pneumonia. She

was only 27 years old.

But he quickly remarried. His new wife was named Johanna.

Now, you said the man died before the woman.

In 1940, John was diagnosed with a kidney disease.

He suffered for 10 long years.

Now, in 1950, John Hartman died right here on the property. He was 63 years

when he died. That's his death certificate here.

Now, after John's death,

Johanna lived here for another 34 years. She died in 1984 at a local hospital,

and she was 86 years old. Is it possible that's the dead couple you ran into?

You know, it's definitely a possibility.

Okay, what else we got?

Now I'm going to discuss the other two individuals that are here. One of them

a murderer, and one of them is his victim.

The victim, the female, is in a very decomposed state.

I saw her in this room and going upstairs and to the right.

That's your room, Brooke?

Yes.

She's trying to get help from you.

And the reason why is because you're a sensitive.

But you've really shut that down.

Sorry.

What's going on? Like she said, I feel stuff, but I just shut it down.

I only discussed that with myself. I've told nobody in this world.

Nobody. Not even you.

She really wants to tell her story and to move on.

The murderer, the killer guy, does not want her to talk.

When she tries to communicate with you, he gets pissed off and they fight and

you're picking up on it via emotion and you're getting panicked and freaked out.

Now, the anxiety is something that's a real issue. Tell Amy how that goes.

So it just hits.

I could just walk into a room, and I feel a sense of something's not right,

something's bad, and I go into really bad anxiety.

It makes sense.

Now, you said this murder victim tries to get Brooke's attention.

What does she do?

I did see her touching, so, like, caressing the hair and the face.

She's just trying to get your attention.

So a week after we moved in, I was walking through the living room, and

grabbed my purse strap, and it took me back a couple feet.

I asked her to demonstrate on me, and I knew she was pretty hard.

Yeah, I mean, I'm 220 pounds, and she pulled me.

Wow. The other thing is, when you got scratched, tell her about that.

So I was giving my daughter a bath, and it felt like someone poured acid on my

arm. And when I...

Brought my arms out. There were huge scratches going down my arms. I got a

right here to show you.

Could that be this woman trying to get her attention or is that something else?

That's more than likely the killer.

Ah. Yeah.

So since we're talking about physical, I want to talk about Novi.

You had given me a video.

I want to show it to Amy.

When you were in mommy's bed, was it tickling your feet or just touched your

feet?

It was tickling my feet and touching my feet.

That would more than likely be the female.

It makes me very nervous.

And the fact that I'm bringing my daughter and I'm seeing this with my

sister, it already breaks my heart.

As far as this killer goes, any idea who he might have been when he was alive?

According to him, this murder, he was able to keep secret when he was alive.

I believe that he might have lived here. I'm thinking that he may have lived

with his mother.

He has a deep fear of Catholicism.

And I got that he may have had some type of government job, like a mailman or

something. What you're talking about makes me think of the brother of John

Hartman. that owned the property.

Now, his name was Michael, and he and John bought three lots of property here

together back in 1916.

One of the lots was supposed to be for John, the other for Michael, and the

third was supposed to be for the widowed mother, so she could live here.

Now, you said the killer was afraid of Catholicism. As I mentioned, this family

was from Transylvania.

Apparently, it's an extremely Catholic region of Romania.

But like you said, Michael had a government job. He drove a library

But as far as murdering someone, I got nothing on that.

He kept it a secret in life.

All of the boxes are coming together with him.

With the Catholicism and all that?

Yeah.

When I went down into the basement, he is burying her.

This happens over and over and over again because she gets out.

And that's when she's coming to you and trying to talk to you. And then he's got

to get her and put her back in the grave like he just wants her gone.

I did have a sketch done of this situation.

This should be interesting.

This is creepy.

Michaela, that's your new space in the house, isn't it? Oh, no.

Like, that's terrible and terrifying.

Like, that's supposed to be happening, like, where I'm supposed to be living

with my child?

And the basement? Like, that's his place. He doesn't want any of the living

there?

So does this killer do anything, interact with these guys?

I did get that he on occasion will watch the females bathing or showering.

That was the two spots actually was the basement and the shower where I

constantly felt watched.

I saw that he at one point got into a rage and it literally felt like the

shook. Like it was like this.

Brooke, have you heard anything like that?

Yes. Very obnoxious banging for about 20 to 30 minutes.

What? That long?

Yeah. Holy smoke.

He is pretty active in one of the bedrooms, which is the one directly

from here. So that's Kingston's room?

Yeah. I did think it was a boy.

I got that he was, like, excited for us to be here because he is tired and

scared of all of these experiences that he has had. And he felt like he wasn't

being taken seriously, and that frustrated him.

Oh, Kingston.

I'm a little blown away by that.

So, Amy, here's what you need to know. Kingston was having problems at school,

and he told his teachers that he was seeing three different dead children.

Here at the house. He told them two were nice and one not so much.

The reason we're here is because those teachers called Brooke and told her to

have us come in and investigate.

I was upset because he never told me. He never opened up. And when I asked him,

he said, I wanted to protect you.

Who are these kids that he might be talking to? He might be perceiving the

couple of the two friendly children.

Okay. And maybe perceiving the other kid who's bad is the killer.

I interviewed him, and he seems to be holding back. Something else, he's not

telling me everything.

Everything that's going on here is about keeping your mouth shut.

That's the killer's MO.

That's what he's doing to this woman. I mean, that's, like, the whole thing here

is keep your mouth shut.

I think that the killer has targeted him because he has medium

abilities.

I think the killer feels a threat that he could get him out of here. He could

push him out and expose his secret.

There was one situation.

It was really dark.

He was hearing footsteps coming down the hallway.

And then the doors opening and then there's like this black mist.

kind of rolling into the room.

The feeling was just rage and aggression and very threatening. So it seems

like he definitely is getting off on torturing him as well.

This poor kid is going through hell.

What kind of mother am I to bring my daughter somewhere where I know is not

safe?

So, Brooke, you know why Kingston's been having all these issues. And Michaela,

you know why the basement freaks you out.

So it's time to answer the big question. Is there anything you guys can do about

this? And if so, what's it going to take?

For that answer, I'm going to turn it over to Amy.

What I would like to see happen is for a male medium who is a

practicing Catholic, they'll come here.

And they will engage with the killer and move him on.

Once he is gone, I feel that the female will be able to finally see

clearly her way out.

Once that's done, the older couple will leave.

So once they get rid of this, the killer, right?

Michaela can move in or does she need to wait a while? Yeah, no, she can totally

move in. Yeah.

I'll be gone.

The lady will be gone.

Everybody will be gone.

How do you feel about that?

Relief.

I'm happy about this.

We are also dealing with abilities here and functioning, and I am concerned

about your health. It would be really great if you could be a Reiki

practitioner. You have a lot of stuff that needs to get out of your body.

And then with Kingston, we need to create a lot of safe spaces for him.

So what I would like is for him to see a child therapist who's open to this.

I know Kingston was your number one concern.

The behavior was not him. I felt like something was, there's more to it.

But now you know why.

Now I know why.

Do you feel relieved by that? I do.

I do.

You're going to do what she says, right?

A hundred percent. Are you kidding me?

This is huge for us and our family. I appreciate you guys more than I could
