Thanks for coming up.

I've been working with playing cards now for many, many years, and I have to

tell you, after working with them after a while, you kind of get to know them. I

don't mean just like a deck of cards. I mean each individual card all the way

through. Like they talk, and you listen, and you can talk to them. You can have

these wonderful conversations.

I'm not crazy.

I'm not crazy. But I want to kind of show you something right now. I'm going

go ripple through the deck. Say stop, if you would, please.

Right there? Okay. Hold on to your card. Please look at it. Don't show it to

anybody, if you would, please. Okay? And then for you, I'm just going to roll if

you say stop.

Stop. Right there? Okay. I want you to take a look at your card.

Okay? Now, I'm not going to give it to you. I want you to memorize it.

Okay? Do you have it? Yes. You sure? Yes. You'll remember it next time?

Okay, excellent. And then go ahead and place your card anywhere back inside, if

you would please. Right there.

Very good. And we're going to shuffle these up a little bit more. As a matter

fact, I'm going to take half the card, turn them the other way so they are

to back, back to front, and this confuses the cards. It makes it even

difficult for the amazing feat that they're about to do. There we go.

And let's do one more because we've got one, two. Let's go right here in the

front row, right in the middle there. Hi. Hi. Do me a favor. I'm going to have

you think of a card, okay? It could be a face card. It could be a... number

card, but concentrate on a card, okay? So we have one right here. You peeked at

the card, right? And then we have you. You're thinking of a card. Very good.

we're going to place these into the card case, and you may notice that I've

attached the ribbon, tied it around. I'm going to have you hold on to that side,

and I'm going to hold on to this side, and I'm going to have you stand right

here in the center if you don't mind, okay?

Very good. Hold it with both hands. Very good. Now, what was your card? It's

So my mom, she loves gardening. In the spring, her favorite thing to do is go

shopping for flowers. And this flower that we have right behind us is her

favorite kind.

It's bright, it doesn't need water, and it's fake.

So I'm going to have you help me with this, all right? So let's go over to the

bush. We're going to pick the flowers off this beautiful bush. We can just

the flowers off, and we'll have Dani come out, and she has a really cool

bag. Pop those off like that.

My mom would be so frustrated right now. This is a real flower right now.

I'll take this lovely bag. Mom always had a knitting bag. She always had some

showgirl knitting bag, something like that. I'm going to put these inside. I

I'm here with Melanie. She's been randomly selected to help me with a

as the world's luckiest ring.

I don't actually believe anything like that, but I figured we could use it for

trick. You up for it? Yes. Have you ever played cards before?

A couple. A couple of times. Then you're going to be perfect for this. I'd like

you to hold the cards, and you're going to deal out five hands of cards.

That's great.

And then one to yourself.

And here's the interesting thing. We're going to keep going. You can keep

dealing. But at any point, you can turn cards over. You can turn a card face up,

if you like, as you wish.

As you wish. Whatever you like. Great.

This way, we get to see.

other people's cards that you're dealing.

And we also stole one of your cards to a space. That's great. Keep dealing.

And now we're getting like a sneaky peek at the other player's cards. This is

rare. You would never get to do this in a game of cards. One more round. And

you're turning up loads of cards face up. That's going to be really great. And

one more to yourself.

Fantastic. And we'll take the rest of the cards and we may as well actually

mix these cards up. We'll mix these face up and face down like this. And I'm

going to let everybody see the cards mixed all over the place. And now,

you get...

them in front of you. And I want you to remember the highest numbered card.

Yeah. Fantastic. Square up the cards and place them back on the deck. And now

we're going to pick up these cards. Which order do you want? Do you want me

pick up this one first? That one, you tell me. This one. This one, keep going.

This one, this one, and finally this one. So the cards are messed up all over

the place. You dealt the cards.

And now this is where we get to see whether this really is the luckiest ring

the world. So I'd like you to wear the ring.

And now, you chose your wedding finger.

We are officially married.

You jumped back. Okay, fine. Now, let's see if it works. Hold the deck. And once

again, I'd like you to deal out five hands of cards.

And I think you may be lucky. Let's see what happens. So deal out again.

Now, I want to show you something interesting as you're dealing.

You see this?

You've dealt yourself a face -down card. Keep going.

And other people are getting face -up cards.

But somehow, you're always getting face -down cards. Keep going.

Other people are getting mixed up face down face up cards You're getting all

face down and deal one more round after this so you get five cards Everybody

else is getting cards. We can see except for you all of your cards are face down

We still have these cards mixed face up to face down now Do you remember what

card you picked earlier the card you're thinking of what was the card? This is

where we get to see how lucky you were turn this top card over let everybody

this should be Yeah, go for it. Let everybody see the 10

But really, let's see how lucky you were, because you dealt these other

cards. Let's see, you dealt this person a pretty bad hand. You dealt this person

a pair of five, not a great hand. This person over here got really nothing good

at all, a pair of three. This person got a pair of eight.

But if you're the luckiest person in the world because of the ring, you should

have a much more interesting hand. Check this out. You doubt yourself a 10, but

you also doubt the jack, the ace, the queen, and the king to get a royal

That is the best hand. That is a lucky ring.

But you know what? Let me try. Let me take the ring. Because you remember

other cards were mixed. Face up, it's a face down.

But maybe there's more to this than just luck. Because if I just hold over like

this... And something interesting should happen as all of the cards turn

I got an idea. I learned this social media hack where you take a dishcloth,

after you clean your hands, you have to use the heat like incubating an egg.

You take an unripe piece of fruit, whether it's like an unripe banana, an

apple, or in this case, an unripe avocado, and you hang it under the cloth

moment. You blow.

Blow.

Yes, perfect. Pizza for lunch.

Oh, yeah.

It instantly becomes a lot riper, feel it? Oh, that's squishy.

This is perfect. So we're actually going to do something that all Californian

girls know about.

Since we're doing TV here, I don't have as much time as a chef normally would.
