So, we do things on Christmas Day we
would not dream of doing any other day

the year.

We spend all day in our pajamas.

We gorge ourselves on chocolates and
peppermint. We willingly allow a weird

bearded man to break into our house
through a chimney.

And we attend parties wearing ugly
sweaters.

I actually have a collection of the
tackiest Christmas sweaters right here,

I'd like to play a little game using all
of these. I've asked someone from the

audience to help me out. Hi, Jessica.

So here's the game. I will be making a
guess. I'm going to take one of these

tacky sweaters. You see we have snowman,
we have Santa, we've got candy canes,

all kinds of options. I'm going to make
one guess. I'm going to clip that inside

the mic stand. You will then be choosing
your very own tacky sweater from this

set here.

And if my guess matches the one you
choose, you're a winner.

This is Sally from our studio audience.
I'm going to be doing something that no

other magician would dare do. I'm going
to do an illusion in the living room of

the people at home. Now, this is not a
joke. Come close to your television. I

promise it will be worth it. You will
see amazing visual illusions.

Now, to make this a Christmas scene,
this is a fireplace. Now, it's not a

screen. And what I'm going to do is I'm
going to spin the hypnotron for 20

seconds, and you guys need to look at it
for 20 seconds. I'm going to turn this

one on stage.

Sally, you look here. And people, stare
at the center of the wheel.

Keep staring at the center of the wheel.
You need to look and not blink.

Don't throw up in your television, but
seriously, this will be worth it. When

cut back, you're going to be looking at
that fireplace again, but it's going to

look completely different this time.

Okay, stare at the photo.

Yeah, it actually looks like it's
flaming.

But look, it's just, yeah, pretty cool.
But look, it's just a flat photograph,

okay? Now, I know what you're thinking.
You're thinking this is a trick. But no,

no, no.

We're going to do it one more time. But
this time, we're going to use the people

at home in a very personal way.

So, I'm going to spin the wheel again,
just like that.

Sally, you stare on the center of the
wheel. People at home, keep staring at

we're going to do is when we cut back,

we're going to try something completely

wanted to create some presents that were

homemade, things I could give to friends
or family. So as you can see on the

tray, I've created these photo albums
that I can give as presents. And as a

matter of fact, we're going to put this
one off to the side. I want everyone to

take a look. That is actually me at age
six.

And it's my very first magic set.

And this is what started the ball
rolling. And I keep this with me

my prop case wherever I travel so I can
remember where I came from and also that

I am still the same height.

So we're not going to use all of these.
So which one would you like to use, red

or blue?

Let's do the blue. The blue. Okay. We'll
take the blue ones. Hold on to those,

if you would, please.

And let me undo this. And we're also
going to have you hold on to the ribbon.

And then let's take a look at these

Oh, my gosh. That is my mom.

That's right. I grew up in the business.
I'm second generation.

That's my mom as a showgirl back in the
50s and 60s. As a matter of fact, we

have a whole bunch of different photos
here. Let's see what else we got. Oh,

look. That is my dad. It's a clown.

Me, mini me, right there. We're doing a
show, I believe, in Honolulu. What else

we got here? This is me, obviously, on a
giant horse as a ringmaster. All

different cool shots.

This is my dad pretending to be a saloon
girl in a clown sketch.

Oh, this is my mom. I want you to take a
look at that. That is my mom. She did

an act called Iron Jaw, where she
literally hung by her teeth.

I know. It's really bizarre.

Now, my brother and I used to play a
game called deal or mix, and this was

If he said deal, I would deal a photo
down on the table. If he said deal, deal

another one. Deal, deal another one. If
he said mix, I would mix them up and

place them on the table.

Deal, mix, however, whatever he said.
You know, mix, deal, deal, right? Okay,

you get the idea, right? So you're going

that. That is me as a kid with a clown
nose in front of our trailer growing up.

fact, if we continue going through each
of these unusual photos, you're going to

know something is kind of uncanny, if
not impossible, and that is every single

photo that we mixed up completely.

Ladies and gentlemen, that is my really
unusual family.

Oh, it's the holidays, Christmas time,
and it's my favorite time of year. Every

year at Christmas time, I do this thing
where I go to a print shop and I have

them print out these messages. And then
this year, I went and picked up my

signs. This is what they printed for me.
It says, Christmas, Mary.

That's really unfortunate.

I had like a thousand of these printed,
and this is going to be very annoying,

but each one I'm going to have to do
this to. I've got to tear it right here.

and then rearrange them to say the right
thing.

Here, let me show you guys kind of what
I'm talking about. If I just give it a

little fold like this, a little fold
like that, and then... Nobody

saw that?

If I've done that right... Yep.

Perfect.

Look, they kind of go back together.

And it also...

rearranges the sign to now say, married
person.

What? Oh, oh, this, this, this, this
nothing.

This nothing. You didn't, you guys
didn't see that because, uh, well, this

going to do a heat.

because we can't do the trick if it's

cheeks, magic head, sunglasses, and so

on and so on. We also have all kinds of
upper bodies for our gingerbread man,

with the tie, with the, I don't know,
chain, shirt.

All different. And last but not least,
all kinds of gingerbread man legs with a

shoe, with trousers, lady gingerbread,
and so on and so on. And it's very

simple. It goes like this. I ripple
through this. You say stop whenever you

to.

That's funny, okay? If you would stop

I remember every holiday season, my dad
wanted us to take the classic family

holiday portrait.

And of course, he insisted on us wearing
neckties, but we were too young to know

how to tie our neckties. So here's the
thing. He didn't make us learn how to.

just said that you don't have to learn,
but it's going to cost you 50 cents if I

have to do it for you. So for the first
couple of years, I could never get it

done. But by that third year, Not only
did I learn how to tie a necktie,

I learned how to tie it using just

one

hand.

And here's the thing. That year, my
dad...

Didn't get my 50 cents. No, no, no.
Instead, he gave me my very

first tie clip.

Saint Nick who rewards good children by

bringing them gifts like toys and candy.

But then there's his lesser -known
counterpart, Krampus, who punishes bad

children by bringing them undesirable
things like coal.

Now, I have two lovely volunteers here.

It's time to wonder in the whimsical
workings of the conjurers.

Our favorite time is Christmas. For
generations and generations, my family

created Christmas crackers.

In fact, it's become a tradition of ours
to make these every Christmas Eve, but

rather than putting funny little jokes
inside, we put... special messages onto

big piece of paper, roll it into a
scroll, and make the cracker around it.

It's nearly Christmas.

Let's try and do something magical for
everybody in attendance and everybody

watching at home.

Three questions beginning with you, if
you don't mind. Imagine that it's

Christmas Day.

It's going to be your dream location. It
could be anywhere. It could be a city,

a state, a village, a town, a country.
Now, nice and loud, where do you choose?

And I think it's time to bring the
cracker down.

So think about this.

Before we arrived, before any of you met
us, before Tash began to speak, before

we said a word, there was one cracker,
one item locked and sealed inside a

box. How impossible would it be if
somehow, someway, we could have

only what you would say, but lock it,
store it, place it, keep it inside a

cracker way ahead of time?

It really is locked inside this box.

It's time for a deceptive and fast
-paced act.

So, I love Christmas like everyone does,
but I love the traditions of Christmas,

you know? How many people here ever had
their grandparents or parents, like,

save the wrapping paper, save the bows
every Christmas? Anybody by applause,

yes? That's why this year, if you notice
this bow, this has been with my family

for like 20 years.

Look how smushed that is. But we reuse
it every year.

Every year, though, I look forward to
it. I always get an actual coloring book

for Christmas.

Every year, it was my favorite thing to
do was to color.

And this is it.

And every year, they have a different
one.

And like I said, I love coloring. It's
kind of my thing, coloring books. So I'm

going to have you guys help me color
this book. And if you have a look at the

book, it's a pretty normal -looking
book. It's large, but it's pretty

We can actually see all different shapes
of various things. So I need you guys

to entertain me for a second, all right?
Reach in the air. I know we're all

adults here.

Pretend you're grabbing a crayon.

Grab something. I don't care what color
you are, and throw it at the book, all

right? Do not miss. Get the book. Oh,
that's some good acting. That's very

If you watch really carefully, I snap my
fingers, you'll see exactly what you

guys ended up doing, which is actually
throwing it everywhere.

But I've got to be honest with you, if
you were very much like Picasso, I've

to be honest with you on that.

One more time like this, put your hands

That's what did it. See, if you look
really carefully, now the whole book is

completely colored just like that.
