Hello everybody, good evening and welcome to Masters of Illusion.

I'm Dean Cain. Now, we live in a world of reality.

So if you witness something that turns your reality upside down, well, it would

be no less than completely astonishing.

So are you ready to be astonished?

We all know smoking can kill you.

Are you aware in this illustration right here that there's a warning of death in

the ashtray?

The signs of illusion are not quite so apparent when our masses of illusion...

manipulate your mind.

It's always exciting to see what our next magician has in store for us. In

tonight's case, it is a lesson in don't play with matches.

You know, magic goes

back hundreds and hundreds of years.

It's based off of these ancient beliefs, these ancient sort of rituals even.

Elements.

Earth. Air.

Water.

And fire.

Fire.

Fire is actually the only element that we, as a species... That is hot. Oh God,

that is hot.

Fire.

It has been said.

is that, oh wait, no, that sucks. We've got to put the plus. Put it all the way

to the plus. Got to dial it up to 11. Oh, by the way, who are you?

I'm Molly.

Molly? Yeah, you're Molly?

Molly, what you're going to do is, I need your help. We're going to use a

bit of the fire to sort of pay homage to these rituals.

And with that in mind, I thought, what better way to sort of represent this

by presenting a card trick.

Seems legit.

So, Molly, you're going to reach in and take one out. I assume, just like

everybody else, you're familiar with cards, right? You kind of know how

all different and everything like that. I'm just going to give them a quick mix,

and then you're going to reach in, and you're going to take one out, any one

like, okay? Okay. Super easy. You can't screw it up.

All right.

And this one.

That one?

Yeah, okay, go for it. All right, you know what to do. You take a peek at it,

and you're going to take the marker.

Sign your name, draw a picture, whatever you like on the faith, nice and big, so

everybody can see. Go ahead and go for it.

When you're done, you let me know, and I'll take the marker back.

And then go ahead and show it to everybody. I'm going to look away. I

to show it to everybody so everybody can see it. I'm going to help you memorize

it. I'm going to need you to hand it back to me, please, so I can't see.

I'm going to stick it in the middle and go ahead and give the deck a shuffle.

Then I'm going to have you basically babysit the element of fire with the

lighter. Have you played with a lighter before?

So you know how this works. I'm going to ask you to light the lighter. You're

going to go ahead and light it. You hold it on until I tell you not to. Got it?

All right, go ahead.

Go ahead and light it, because what I'm going to attempt right now is to try to

absorb some of that power from the element of fire by simply just holding

hand over the top.

You ever play this? You've got to hold your hand over the fire as long as you

can and see who can hold it the longest.

Really good.

Perfect. That's enough.

What I want you to do is just cup your hands together, please.

Excellent. And I'm going to try to use that heat, that element of fire, by

squeezing the deck at my fingertips and seeing if that element of heat and fire

can actually help create a little bit of that heat as my

fingers, if you watch close, Molly, you get to see before anybody else how close

my fingers should start to actually melt.

Through the deck.

You see that?

You're going to catch them as they go down.

Go ahead.

Catch them all until we end right in the middle at the sixth of clubs.

But Tokyo's very clever illusion has a special blend for you tonight. This

is the magic of Shoot Ogawa.

Alexis. Nice to meet you. My name is Shoot.

I'm from Japan.

I'm here for you. Very cool. Okay. I want you to choose one card. Sounds like

very standard card trick, right? Could you take one?

And, yeah. Could you sign your name on the face of the card, please?

So that is very important later. Can you recognize your signature?

Okay. Very good. All right. I have this card. Is this the way? Yep. Okay. So I

hold this card here, and I'm going to use this later.

Okay.

Okay, so I need your help a little bit. I leave this here over here.

Okay, so I use the handkerchief here. So may I have your hand, right hand? And

could you feel the current here?

Yep. Okay, very good. And just leave this hand a little bit lower. There we

And I do that.

It's very interesting.

If I do this to one place, it's kind of easy, but if I do this and if I do that,

that, that, that, to now, bottom, middle, or top, you choose one.

But just in case I prepare three balls like this, here, here, here, so you can

see a little better, right?

So, yeah, it can be any of those. So that's why I use only two.

So, I don't use this thing here. So, now I have two, and I don't use this thing

here, so it's maybe less object. It's easier, right?

Okay, so this is what I do. So, I just do this, and move this one towards the

front. Okay, I take this wall here, and I take this one over here, and do this,

like this, do that.

So you don't need a card anymore. So I do this and now the card is gone. When

you open your hand, the card is gone. And now I can see my hand.

You know, I'm pretty good about tricks.

But a trick is good, but I, you know, actually, I'm not good about a cocktail.

forgot to put one thing, because I was going to use, actually, a lemon here,

because I forgot to put lemon, so I have to cut this one, da -da -da -da -da,

like this way, da -da -da -da -da.

It's kind of nice. And I do this, open like that way, and you see something

interesting.

that performed on TV, they softly suggested that maybe I should have some

of backup plan.

I, being the loving son, I took their advice into account. I taught myself how

to make balloon animals.

They're so proud.

They are. In fact, given that I have gone on to become a magician on TV, I

thought maybe I should give you all a chance to see my backup plan in action.

I'd like to share with you all a few of my favorite balloon animal masterpieces.

When I say it's handy to be an airhead, there are benefits.

Folks, I will make this balloon dock.

However... Because this is the Masters of Illusion TV special, I'll make a

balloon dog.

I'll make it in under 10 seconds.

Blindfolded. Can I go? No way.

I'll put on the blindfold. On the count of three, I want everyone to count down

from the number 10.

In Las Vegas, if you want to combine your magic with a

laugh, well, you can always look forward to being fooled by the antics of a
