You know, whenever I perform magic, people often ask me whether I ever use

skills as a magician offstage, you know, to solve everyday life problems.

As a magician, not only do I love performing magic, I love creating magic.

workshop at home, I have a bunch of notepads and notebooks with different

on them. Some make the show, some don't.

Today, I brought one of the notepads with me to show you some new ideas I'm

working on.

Here's an idea where I take a soda can and just using my mind, I crush it.

Here's another idea where I take a cookie out of a package, I throw it up

air, and my finger pierces the center of the cookie without breaking the rest of

it. Kind of bizarre.

Oh, here's a new one I'm working on where I make a car appear.

It's at the beginning phase.

I even put lines out the back because I wanted to give it some motion to make it

look like it jumped off the page.

You can see it's still not finished. I still need to fill the windows in and

tiles. Growing up, my dad told me that sometimes to make a project look

or complete, you just have to slap a coat of paint on it.

in front of you on your right palm.

Hey, guys. How are you? Good to meet you. What's your name?

Tanner and Tashara. Tashara, what I wanted to do is share something that I

extremely interesting with a pack of playing cards.

Can I ask you to do me a huge favor?

If you don't mind, reach in and take out any card out of the deck that you want.

It doesn't matter what it is, but make sure you like the card that you pick.

can go ahead and show it to the camera.

Everyone in the room can see exactly what it is. And I'll take that card

I'm going to place that card about halfway down from the top of the pack.

have you do me a favor? Hold out one finger.

That's a good choice.

What I want you to do is place that finger right here on the very center of

deck and push down.

And I want you to concentrate on your card. And I want you to say it over and

over in your head.

As you do, I want you to slowly.

Send the name of the card down your arm, down your forearm, down to the finger,

into the deck. And as you do, take in a deep breath and slowly release your

pressure on the cards.

And notice how they move.

If I push right here, one card comes flying out of the pack, and I'm hoping,

with a little luck, that maybe... Now I'm gone, right?

Now, what I'd love to do is I'd love to do the same thing with you. Can I have

you reach in, take out any card out of the deck you do?

But here's the interesting thing, guys. See, you're not allowed as a magician to

do the same trick for the same audience the same way twice.

We've got to change things up a little bit. You'll notice I've got a little box

here. If I can have you examine that box, make sure it's exactly what it

to be. If you don't mind, show your card to everyone. That way they see what the

card is. Make sure that the box is completely normal. There's no magnets.

There's no strings. There's nothing to indicate there's anything tricky with

box. You sure?

Yep. Because on your way home, you're going to say to yourself, what if I

examine the box a little bit more closely? You've seen the card. I'm going

take it back. But I like how you hid it there.

We're going to leave that here.

Give you an opportunity to see the card. Keep your eyes on it. You'll notice how

I'm placing it right here into the very center of the deck.

No funny magic moves in any way. If I can have you hand me the box.

I'm going to place the card here. Now, let me ask you, Tanner, are you left or

right -handed? Left.

Oh, so am I. That's awesome. Would you mind opening your left hand? I want you

to place your thumb here, put your fingers here, squeeze, and then lift.

If you don't mind, what I want you to do is take in a deep breath.

Slowly exhale.

It feels good, doesn't it? Kind of like a group hug.

Take in another deep breath.

And as you exhale, I want you to release the tension in your shoulders.

Release the tension in your elbow.

Release the tension in your wrist, and even in your fingertips.

And you'll notice, as you slowly release, keep releasing.

You'll notice how one card slowly comes out of the pack. And I'm hoping, with a

little luck, that maybe, just maybe... Give these guys a

round of applause!
