Hmm. Well, our Masters of Illusion will challenge your perception tonight and

make you question everything you see.

I'm sure you've seen magicians make a card appear out of nowhere, but I bet

you've never seen anyone manipulate a deck of cards like this.

Here is Chris Funk.

Awesome. So I am here in our live studio audience, and I've got a live studio

audience member with me. This is Cole. Say hi to everyone in the world.

Hey, world.

There you go. All right, Cole, you like card tricks? Say yes.

Good answer. We're going to do a little card trick here, Cole. What I want you

to do is reach on in and take out any card that you would like. Can you do

for me, please?

Anyone? You sure about that one?

Yeah. After you see this trick, you're going to say, boy, I wish I changed my

mind. Okay.

No? No. You're happy with the mind you have?

I'm happy. All right.

This is what I need you to do. You're going to write your name on that card,

face of it, and then I want you to show everybody and the people at home the

card that you selected. Can you do that for me, Cole? Yeah. Go for it. Do it.

I'll be right over here.

Let me know as soon as you're done. Otherwise, it gets awkward. Okay.

Oh, my gosh.

Seriously, is he always like this? Don't answer that. All right. Hey, you're

done? I'm going to take the card. We're going to place that card about halfway

into the pack. It's not perfectly in the middle, but after all, I'm not perfect.

I thought I was, but I've got to hang now. Do that. All right.

We're going to place the cards back inside of the case. Cole, can you hold

your hand for me, please?

Excellent. I'm going to take these cards, place them. I want you to take

entire weight of that deck. Can you feel that right now? Excellent.

Cole, in a moment, I'm going to start snapping my fingers like this. As I do

that, you're going to notice the deck getting lighter and lighter and lighter

and lighter.

And lighter. No way. Way.

Oh, yeah. Just happened.

Almost to the point where maybe there is no more decks.

And maybe just one single card. That's right. One single card in the entire

pack. The one that you selected.

Right there.

You going to be okay?

You going to be all right there?

Our next performer comes to us all the way from Budapest, and she has some

moves. Here is Catherine.

Now, many people know Houdini from his dangerous escapes, but very few know

a card trick. Tell you what, just say stop anywhere.

We're going to have you take this card. We need you both to have a card. It's

actually not important on which cards we really use for this trick, but it's

important you each have a card.

You grab the markers that are on the ground there, and I just want you to

your name across these two cards.

Go ahead and sign your name. Yeah, go ahead.

Very nice.

So you both have a card.

You both sign the card. We're not going to make a trick where we're going to

actually try to find these cards.

That's been done a lot. We're going to try something a little different.

So can you hold your hand out and grab the corner of that card right there?

Very good. And once you do the same right here, grab that corner right

What I'm going to try today, leave your hand right about here, I'm going to just

hold this card down towards the corner. Keep it holding nice and tight, nice and

tight. Very good.

And then I'll fold it back this way a little bit.

And I'm going to tear the corner off of this card.

I'm going to leave it just a little bit hanging.

We'll do the same thing over here. We're going to take your card.

Pull the corner back.

And we'll get it back this way here.

And just give it a little treat.

And I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to take your card. We're going to

tear it all the way down to almost its off.

Now, ladies, you've each selected a card. Your signature's on the card. I

you to keep firmly holding the card. Tear your corner off of that card. Go

ahead. Go ahead. Yep, tear it off.

Very good.

Keep your hands here.

You guys tore the corners off of the cards. You guys signed the cards.

I'm going to take the two corners of your card, and they're going to go right

here. Check it out.

Today, we'd like to create a lot of stuff, but simply I use one object, an

envelope. And I have a deck of playing cards. I put this envelope in my pocket

right here. And the deck of playing cards does not go in my pocket because I

would like someone to come and choose the card. Could you help me out, sir?

Alex.

Come hang over here for a second.

Thanks for helping, Alex.

Appreciate it.

Your job is really easy. Just take out a playing card. Grab one at random.

Show it to everybody.

And actually, could you take, Alex, this permanent marker and put your initials

on the card so that I can't see? This guarantees that no matter what happens,

you know this will be the same card.

We can't have any duplicates of it. You're a champion, Alex.

All right, I'll take the pen. Show the initial card around to everybody.

Is it?

Perfect. I will take it back.

Here's the illusion.

I'm going to place Alex's initial card back inside the deck.

Then, without shoot or eye coming anywhere near each other, the card is

vanish from the deck and reappear trapped inside that envelope you saw a

ago. Would that be amazing?

Damn right it would be amazing. Here we go.

Sleeves up.

Card goes in the deck.

One, two, three.

Now my hand is empty. Watch carefully right here. As you remember, I had an

envelope here. So watch. This is the deck of cards.

Oh. What?

Oh, that's weird.

But I know.

But wait a minute. If the envelope was in the pocket and the card appeared in

the envelope, that should mean trapped inside the flap of the envelope still.

With your initials on the cards.
