Solving them often takes days, sometimes longer.

Now, those ones I usually give up on, but the reward in completing a puzzle is

the end to our frustration.

Well, our next performer will play out this thesis. Here is the intriguing

hypnotist slash mentalist slash magician known simply as Spidey.

We're going to try something really strange now with three randomly selected

audience members and a couple of pillows. What is your name?

Cynthia, there are four pillows on stage, orange, blue, green, and red. In

moment, you're going to name one color. That color will stay on stage. The other

three will go on your chair. Which color is staying on stage?

Green.

Great. So red, blue, and orange will go on your chair.

Orange here, blue there, red there. Guys, have a seat. Get comfortable.

I brought these for you.

You're good? Comfortable? Okay.

I've got a book over here. I want you to see, Cynthia, as I flip through this,

all the page numbers are different, all the words are different. I'm going to

pass the bookmark down the page like this. I want you to say stop when you

me. Try stop when you say.

Stop. Right there? Is that exactly what you said?

I'm going to place it right on the page where you said stop, and I'm going to

open that up, and I want you to look at the page number as well as the first

word on that page.

Can you remember both?

Okay. For the very first time, what was the first word on the page that you said

stop on?

What if I told you guys that I knew for a fact that she was going to pick the

I'll be very honest.

I'm really glad you guys enjoyed that. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. But the

whole time, I was thinking of one thing in my head.

I was thinking how happy I am that she picked the green pillow to stay on

Because if she didn't pick the green pillow, one of them would have sat down

the green pillow.

And that would have been very tragic.

The Rubik's Cube, I have

spent hours trying to master it, and the only result has been frustration.

But not for our next magician.

You'll see what I mean.

So we're going to try something fun with a Rubik's Cube, but it's not fair if I

solve it, so I want someone else to help me mix it up. Who wants to do that for

me? Any volunteers? Can you help me? Yep, for me. Jump on stage for me.

Fantastic. What's your name?

Jay. Jay, you can step right up here. I want you to take the Rubik's Cube in

front of you, twist and turn as much as you want. Twist and turn.

And we'll throw the quick challenge. Jay, how fast do you want me to solve

Rubik's Cube? Any time you want.

Five seconds? Five seconds. It's insane, Jay.

So I'm going to show you how to cheat with the Rubik's Cube. That is, you mix

up. The secret is you don't actually turn it. So I want you to watch all the

colors, all the stickers.

I want you to watch the green middle sticker.

All you do is you cover it for a split second.

Now,

we'll do it one more time, but try it with our Jay. Both hands out.

For this time, we're going to do it one -handed mixed up, but to make sure I

can't cheat, one -handed mixed up behind the back.

When you catch it, back dissolves in every single side. Watch. So completely

mixed up.

Are you going to catch it? Yeah. You ready for it? Watch. Mixed up one

One -handed behind the back when Jay catches it.

Now, that's impressive, but it's just me doing sleight of hand. Have you ever

solved the Rubik's Cube before, Jay?

Never. I want you to try to solve the Rubik's Cube, but if I just hand it to

you, it might take a couple minutes. I don't want you to think about it. So

right now, instead of mixing up the Rubik's Cube in front of you, I want you

take the cube and put it behind your back just like this, and I want you to

start to twist and turn as fast and slow as you want. Both hands. Can you feel

that behind your back?

Yeah. And start to twist and turn.

A little faster, a little slower. Keep on doing it.

And don't think about what you're doing, but kind of just keep on turning and

stop any time you want.

You stop turning? Do you believe in yourself, Jay?

I do. I want you to take out the Rubik's Cube and just turn it from behind the

back and show the crowd what you just did.

Next,

the amazing card wizardry of Joe Myers.

Our next magician asks a member of the audience not to pick a card, but rather

to design their own.

Hmm.

Here's Joel Myers.

Now, this is Liz. She's a random member from the audience. So, Liz, this is a

blank deck of playing cards. This is basically just completely blank on every

single side. Liz, check those out. Make sure they're blank. That's perfect.

Okay.

Liz, here's the deal. We've got to make a card unique. So here's what we're

going to do. We're going to take just one of the blank cards. You take that.

Liz, I want you to draw something, whatever you want.

Literally, whatever you want. Yeah, a little picture. Are you doing a self

-portrait? Yeah.

Oh, it's a flower.

And then, Liz, sign your little autograph on there so we know that that

piece of art. Wow.

That is perfect. Look at Liz's beautiful field. Liz, everybody, right?

Liz, here's what's cool. I can literally make your drawing do whatever I want.

I'm going to show you what I'm talking about. This is pretty sweet.

Liz, I can make that drawing do whatever I want. Now that that card has that

piece of art on there, it's completely unique.

You can tell that it's the exact same card from the start to the finish.

what we're going to do. I'm going to take that card, place it from the top

the middle just like this. You push it in, Liz.

Here's the weird part. All I have to do is snap like that. When I do that, your

card comes back up.

I'll do it again. He looks mad.

I'll do it again. Watch. Liz's same card. Once again, I'll take it from the

This time I'll put it in the back just like this, about halfway down.

All I have to do is just give a little shake and a snap and it comes back up

again.

Okay, so now we're going to use my cell phone. So Liz, put out your hand

flat like a little table.

Awesome sauce. Phone goes on your hand just like that.

I'm going to take the card from over here, Liz. I'm going to try and make a

from over here to underneath that cell phone.

Okay. I know. She's like, challenge accepted, Harry Potter. This is good.

All right, here we go. Watch.

I'm going to blow on the drawing. You're going to see this happen, Liz, from

where you're at. Watch this.

Did she go?

No. Liz, did I touch that cell phone at all? No.

Look underneath the phone, Liz. This is crazy. Look underneath the phone. Check

it out.

There's a magician here that could do that.

it and pull it out of the phone just like this. Fold it up. And the really

part, guys, is it's not just any blank card. It is the drawing that leads me

from the beginning.
