Illusion, the art of tricking the brain, distorting the senses, challenging

perception. You can't trust what you see, even with your own eyes. Meet the

Masters of Illusion.

Welcome to Masters

of Illusion. I'm Dean Cain, and I'm very happy to be here. So it's interesting.

The mind interprets what it sees and only accepts...

What it believed.

So what happens when you see something that your mind is convinced cannot be

possible?

Are you ready to find out?

Well, we're going to show it to you.

How many shells do you see in this illustration?

I see three balls on the top shell. I see two in the middle. And then I see

on the bottom. But there seems to be only two shells.

Or are there three shells?

You decide.

How many?

There are seven.

I'm kidding. What do you do with all the paper receipts you get

every single day?

I don't like to just throw them away because I'm sure somehow I will need

in the future. And I'm absolutely sure our next performer is happy that he kept

his. Here is Eric Buss.

Thank you very much.

Just the other day, I went to a drugstore.

Can't tell you which one it was, but the initials were C, V, and S.

A kazoo. Because I'm an adult. I buy whatever I want.

And kazoos are dope.

It works every time. I bought one $5 kazoo from the drugstore, and

this is the receipt.

My wife and I bought a house that was less paperwork than this.

It's like a streamer. The drugstores hand you a streamer on the way out of

store these days. I walked out like this.

Whee! Whee!

Because I'm an adult.

I actually got home. I played with the receipt more than I actually played with

the kazoo itself. That was kind of weird.

Then I started playing with the kazoo and the receipt at the exact same time.

At the store, the receipt's kind of a pain. It won't fit in your purse or your

pocket, but you get it home, it becomes part of the family.

So big it has a mind of its own, just needs a little motivation.

You've got the cutest little barcode.

You're adorable.

Adorable.

You should see his food number. It is huge.

Watch. He does trick swaps.

Wee.

Stand up right there. Stand up. Right over here. Face the audience.

Hold your hands up.

Perfect. Hold it right like that.

Because I've been working for one minute. I'm exhausted.

It's actually trained. Watch. It does tricks.

Bang! Oh, that was not nice.

Blow it a kiss. Blow it a kiss.

Oh, phew!

Give it up for the dancing!

Let him hear it!

Next, we have a man who knows how to enjoy a good meal.

And he has discovered a unique way to use a tablet computer.

The always entertaining Bon Vivant from Paris, France.

Here is Titu.

All right.

I'm excited to tell you these guys, but I need someone to help me out. I need

someone about, what's your name?

Would you join me on the cast? Give him a big one of applause.

Tanner, do you know how to shuffle?

Tanner, yeah. Perfect. So I want you to take the card. You got 26, 26.

It looks like this.

You put them one by one. It looks like that.

Okay. Then you shuffle.

Your turn.

Make sure they're all different. I'm not cheating.

Not yet.

Yeah, I can tell that's not your thing. Okay, good.

All right.

Okay, cool.

All right, pick a card, any card you like. If you don't like it, you pick

another one. It doesn't matter.

And to make sure I don't have another card like this, I want you to write your

name nice and big on the face.

Nice and big. And when you're done, you show the camera as well.

Perfect. All right. So now we all agree there's only one car like this in the

whole world. Show to everybody, to the camera.

Send it whenever you want. You're going to say stop.

Stop. Right here. Perfect. That's great.

Perfect. We'll put it back in the middle, exactly where you said stop.

magician in the world, they all do what we call sleight of hand. So to make sure

I don't do any sleight of hand, I'm not going to use my hand to find your car.

I'm going to try to find it with my mouth.

How long do you give me to do this? How many seconds?

Ten?

Thank you. That's very generous of you.

I'll try in ten seconds. If it doesn't work, it's his fault.

Ten seconds with my mouth. You guys ready? When I put the card in my mouth,

want everybody to count down ten to zero. Ready?

And go.

That's disgusting.

Only one card, only one.

Tanner, what was your card?

Great.

That would have been good.

I mean, I'm guessing that's the only card in the deck that says Tanner on it.

Yes, it is.

There is always more to what we see, always an inner revelation.

Watch very closely as our next magician reveals the unexpected.

Here is Joseph Gabriel.

This is Ndini, and tonight he's going to perform his greatest estate.

Watermelon.

Coconut. Just seeing if you're paying attention.

He loves this drink. He loves it.

Thank

you.

Orange. Oh, let me see. Egg next.

tougher as they get bigger.

The lemon.

Up next, laughs and the unbelievable talent of Ed Alonzo.

Among the masters of illusion, no one is more fun than the man of a million

surprises. Here is Ed Alonzo.

For centuries, magicians, daredevils, and escape artists like the great Harry

Houdini, performed death -defying stunts. All of Houdini's stunts had one

in common, the race against time.

And I'll have just 30 seconds to free myself after I'm shackled to this solid

steel structure.

Hanging high above, on the inside, is a rack of deadly swords.

Get the point?

All my trust will be in the accuracy of this timing device. A length of rope

from the rack way up there attaches to the timer down here.

And after 30 seconds, whether I'm out or not, it'll release that rack.

By the way, I am not concealing any lockpick keys or tools.

In a moment, I'll place my hands into the shackles.

And then they'll be locked in place.

30 seconds to free myself or I become a human -sized pincushion.

Wish me luck.

Oh, you guys are awesome.

Give it up for my awesome assistant.

And I'm not allowed until the misfit of magic.

Thank you so much.

Thank you.

We'll be right back with a super quick hand of Eric Jones.

Okay, if you have some valuable jewelry on you, now is the time to protect it.

Our next performer has a habit of making it disappear faster than you can say

his name. Keep your eyes wide open as you watch this. Here is the amazing Eric

Jones.

I've got a gift for someone in the room.

You, right here in the front row with the, like, purple. What's your name?

Crystal. Crystal? Guys, give Crystal a round of applause.

You can stay right where you are, Crystal.

What I'd like you to do is hold on to this for just a moment.

If I can have you slowly pull that tab towards yourself, and you'll notice

there's something inside.

I'll go ahead and take the sleeve, and as I do, I want you to tell me, do you

see anything inside of that sleeve?

No. Perfect.

That's the right answer.

Go ahead and take the little baggie out.

Take a look at the tray.

Make sure there's no way that anything could get in or out other than through

that top opening. Is that the truth?

Yes. That's the right answer.

Go ahead and retake that. And if you could examine the baggie, make sure

no way that anything can get in or out.

That's the right answer.

Guys, in this Italian men's carry -all, there's a small chain.

Attached to that small chain is a clasp.

If you can see the class, let me hear you say yeah.

Yeah! I'm going to hand this to you.

I'm going to hand you the little baggie. If you don't mind, just drop it right

inside.

That's perfect. I'll fold it over. I'm going to hand that to you.

You've examined the tray. You can drop that right inside.

I'll hand that to you.

And then if you don't mind, place the tray right inside.

And if you don't mind, please go back to your seat. Guys, give Crystal a round

of applause as we make our way back.

I've given one of you something. I need to borrow something from someone else in

the audience.

I need to borrow a lady's finger ring, preferably a wedding band, preferably

with a big rock. The bigger the rock, the better the magic.

I see a hand right here. Have you got a rock?

Perfect. What's your name?

Liz. Guys, give Liz a round of applause. I want to take a look at your ring.

Perfect. I'm going to take that. Oh, that is. Did you see that? Is it

Liz?

Guys, I want you to take a look at Liz's ring.

Because in about five seconds, we'll all be saying goodbye to it.

Watch the ring.

I promise.

I will go as slow as I can.

Watch the ring.

Liz, do you happen to have another ring I could borrow for just a few seconds?

No?

We're in love.

We may not need it.

There's a box that's been sitting here in the audience the entire time. Would

you join me here on stage for just a moment?

Pull that little blue tag.

I'll take the tray.

Nothing inside.

I'll go ahead and take the little part right here.

Go ahead and hand me that Italian men's carry -on.

Examine the baggie. Make sure there's nothing there. And listen. Do you hear

anything? Yeah.

Listen. I'll go slowly. Go on.

Liz, if I can have you join me here on stage.

I've got one question to ask you, Liz.

Please.

In a loud, clear voice. Liz, is this your ring?

Yes. She said yes!

She said yes!

Next, the impossible is easy for the masterful manipulation of Cheryl Martin.

Up next is a truly unique performance, and I'm sure you'll agree, this is a one

-of -a -kind presentation.

From Cuba, here is Gerald Martin.

Well, our time is up.

Don't ask me how they do it. All I can say is they do it very well because they

are the masters of illusion.

I'm Dean Cain. Until next time, thank you so much for watching. We appreciate

you guys being here.
