Hello everybody, how are you?

I'm Dean Cain and welcome to Masters of Illusion. We are going to challenge your

brains to make sense of things that I promise you do not add up.

Are you ready for the challenge?

All right, here we go.

This is an ancient Chinese silk screen.

How many acrobats do you see?

Well, it's obvious that there are five heads, but I can count at least nine

bodies. Tonight's illusionist will make you count everything twice and never

come out the same.

If crackers make you thirsty, well, then you're going to need some water close

by. Welcome the clever antics.

I'm Chris Funk.

I brought some random objects with me today. We're going to do something

absolutely incredible.

I got here some fish crackers. I've got some coin envelopes, a men's pocket,

handkerchiefs, some scissors, a glass of water, empty glass, and I forgot one

thing, so I'm going to have to borrow it. I need some cash money. I need some

money, money, money, money.

So that was very quick of you to volunteer that. Thank you.

What is your name, miss?

Janelle. Hi, Janelle. How are you? I'm good. Good. You have cash I can borrow?

Yeah. Yeah? Well, what do you got for me?

A 20. A 20 is perfect. Janelle, I'm going to get you to join me up on stage.

Round of applause for Janelle as she comes up here.

I want you to hold on to the bill so Jackson is facing the audience. Can you

that for me, please? Perfect. Now, we're going to mark your bill in a very

unique way, okay? We know it's illegal to write on currency, so we're not going

to do that. We've got a much better marking system.

Way more.

Hey, come a little closer. Hold it up a little bit higher and relax.

Okay, just face me and don't move. If no one moves, no one gets hurt. Here we

go.

I'm going to go like relax your grip a little bit and boom. All right, turn and

show the audience that you now have 40 bucks.

What I want you to do is take the little piece hold it down in half as you do

that I'm gonna take out these point envelopes. We're gonna use the first one

right here I want you to just toss that little piece the the receipt Yep, just

toss it right in there Push it all the way down to the bottom excellent and I

want you to stick your tongue out for me if you don't mind I Get paper cuts

easily. Thank you very much one more for good measure.

Boom nailed it. You can see Janelle your pieces right in there Yes, I want you

to take that and put it into a pocket if you've got one somewhere safe We'll get

back to that in a moment I want you to take the big piece of 20. I want you to

fold that in half and then fold it down in half and fold it in half again. As

you do that, we're going to take this men's pocket handkerchief and turn it

the world's smallest teleportation device.

That's it.

I know. Pretty lame, eh? Toss your bill right down into the bottom of the

teleportation device. Excellent.

Give it a little squish. Make sure you can feel it down there. Yeah?

Perfect. I want you to go ahead and pinch these corners up there. Hold it up

nice and high.

And then you're going to say the magic word. Check this out.

And release.

Janelle, I've got here a bag of fish crackers. What I want you to do is grab

that bag of fish crackers. Go ahead.

I'm not going to touch it. I don't want to touch a thing, okay? You can see that

it is, in fact, a sealed bag, right?

Yes. Excellent. I want you to pop the top of it open like a bag of chips.

Perfect. We've got an empty glass right here. I'm going to have you just cascade

the entire contents of that bag right into that empty glass.

Looks like there's a little something, doesn't it? Go ahead and just fish

through there.

Look at that. It looks like a little something. Looks like a $20 bill.

But it could be any $20 bill, couldn't it?

If only there was something, Janelle, that we had that could prove that that

in fact your $20 bill, because that would make it A miracle.

If only there was something.

If only there was something.

Yes, of course.

The receipt. Yes.

There we go. I'll take the envelope. Get that out of your way. Perfect.

Put those two pieces together, thus proving a miracle. Your bill appearing

inside of the goldfish tracker.

You can just put both pieces into one hand quickly. That'd be awesome. I'm

to have you hold on to this. Just put this stem right down here.

I want you to watch very closely.

Janelle, thank you so much. Give it up for as you take your feet, everybody.

Our next performer has been accused of being able to confuse our brains.

right before our eyes. Keep focused on his hand.

Here is Eric Jones.

What I'd love to do is show you guys something really cool with a little bit

money. This is Parker.

Yes, good to meet you. I'm Eric.

Here I have two coins. This is a really old Walking Liberty American half

dollar, and then I also have a really old English penny.

All I want you to do is keep your eyes on the silver coin.

So if I was to hold it here, up here, over here, or up here, keep

your eyes on the silver coin. Because the interesting thing about that is that

the silver coin always wants to be to your left. The copper coin always wants

be to your right. So even if we were to switch the coins, watch, absolutely

nothing happens.

If you don't mind, open your right hand.

We'll take both the silver and the copper, and I'll have you close your

tightly around both.

Turn your hand palm down, reaching with your free hand, your index finger and

thumb, and take out either one of the coins and place it just there on the

of the hand.

Excellent. So you've got the silver.

The copper is tightly closed in your fist. All you have to do is watch that.

Watch the silver.

I get the copper. Go ahead and turn your hand palm up.

Get the silver. And you can even check them out. Make sure they are exactly the

face that you need to be. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

Oh, Alan, I feel kind of bad, though, just taking the glasses without any

collateral. So here, you hang on to that, all right?

Whatever you do, don't open it, okay, until you're 25 miles away from the

studio, okay? Good. All right.

So, also, I always travel with my stagehand. He's the best stagehand in

business. His name's Lefty. Big hand for Lefty, everybody.

imagination?

Honestly, it's a monkey with a symbol.

But I can't tell people that. That's not what they want to hear. They want to

hear something magical. So always give the people what they want.

Like that. That is one Eisenhower silver dollar. That is two.

That is three Eisenhower silver dollars.

You're probably thinking, yeah, right, but that is one Eisenhower silver

Now, in my imagination, these could be anything I want them to be. Silver

dollars, fine. If I wanted them to be different, like Chinese, we could do

too. Totally allowed. Three Chinese coins. I'll leave the first one in front

the lady here.

This one, I will change it back to the good old U .S. of A.

Watch the top one.

As it changes back as well, I'll leave the lower one over here, leaving me with

just one. Now this is both the easiest and the hardest of the three coins.

Easiest to describe, hardest to perform. You squeeze it, you rotate

counterclockwise, then clockwise, counterclockwise again, making that coin

completely vanish.

And that's what it's like in my imagination.

Is your mind able to keep up with the antics of Spidey?

Here is a very unusual display of mind reading.

This is Spidey.

We're going to try something very strange with two random members of the

audience. Your name, please?

Naomi. Naomi, pleasure. And? Jeremiah. Jeremiah, thank you so much for being

here. You're going to make a choice.

I want you to think of any letter of the alphabet at all. This could be the

initial of a loved one. It could be your middle initial. Just nothing too

obvious. Lock it in your mind. You have that?

Great. I want you to write it down on the index card. And when you're done,

it into the envelope all the way to the bottom. Make sure I cannot see that. Do

not say it to anyone.

There you go.

Jeremiah, for you, we're going to use the dice. Grab that dice. Roll it around

couple of times. Make sure it's always different numbers.

Always different numbers. Yes?

This time, you're going to do it in such a way that you cannot know what the

number is. You're going to place it inside the cup, shake it, then slam it

on the table. Don't look at the number. Go ahead.

Perfect. Do you have any idea what number you wrote?

You don't. You can't see it.

Naomi, you wrote one letter of the alphabet. This is not a letter I can

correct? We're going to use two very strange items at this point. One of them

a box.

Jeremiah, you can see right into the box. There's nothing in there.

Same for Naomi.

Psychics used to use it to try to communicate with the other side. They

hold a pendulum and see which way it swings. I don't have a pendulum. I do

something better.

A pendulum -style bell. You could see right into that.

Anything other than the bell itself?

A flimsy bell on a flimsy chain. We are going to ask the bell about the letter

that you're thinking of.

Is it an A?

B?

C?

D?

E?

You see that wiggle?

As if something is pushing it. Is anything physically touching it? You

tell by his face that nothing is physically touching it.

You thought of a random letter. You sealed it inside this envelope. There is

way to see through that envelope.

But the letter you thought of was the letter F.

Now here's the crazy thing. You knew the initial, but nobody knows the number

that you wrote. Even you don't know.

That thought is not known to anyone on this planet.

Jeremiah, I want you to hold on to the box like this. Two hands. That way you

can see. Come on over here. You can see right under it, right around it.

That's not magic. That's just Jeremiah shivering.

We'll just steady that like that.

We are going to ask the bell to reveal to us the number that Jeremiah randomly

rolled. Here we go.

One.

Two.

And of course, you could see nothing else in the veil. Everything comes

Jeremiah, very slowly, lift the cup and tell everyone the number that you

randomly rolled.

You got this.

It's two.
