I'm Dean Payne and welcome to Masters of Illusion.

When presented with two possibilities, it should be fairly easy to

between reality and illusion.

Or is it?

Well, you'll see for yourself. Do you think you'll be able to tell the

difference?

We'll find out right now.

But do you see someone standing in the middle of this illustration staring back

at you? Well, he is there, just as tonight's illusionist will hide the

and distract your senses.

There's nothing I can say about our next performer that I have not already said.

This is the always amazing Ed Alonso.

I brought with me my favorite little pet, Mr. Snuggle.

Let me bring him down so you can see how cute he is. Mr. Snuggle the bunny.

Look at that.

Isn't he sweet? Oh, you're an animal lover, aren't you? I thought so. You

brought him.

Ladies and gentlemen, in history,

A lot of magicians used to be women, but we labeled them, called them witches,

and we killed them just to change the atmosphere.

Now, people back then didn't know if what they were seeing was real magic or,

course, sleight of hand.

So, by using three simple beings, I'm going to share with you something my

ancestors in magic

used to do.

going to have you check them out for everybody.

That's for you, a little souvenir. Welcome to the show.

And I got a deck of cards. They are all different. We're going to zoom in nice

and tight so everybody can see. They are all different. Now, this is what's

going to happen. I'm going to close my eyes.

Once I close my eyes, you're going to pull out the card. You're going to show

the camera so everybody can see it.

I want you to look at it, memorize it, put it against your body, and I'll open

my eyes, okay?

You can take any card you want. It's a totally free choice. Hold on one second.

Check out my eyes. Are they closed?

They are. Andre, take one card on the deck, any card you want.

I think she's got it.

Okay, go ahead and show the camera so everybody can see it. Can you guys see

card? Yes.

Andre, look at it, memorize it, put it against your body. Sir, let me know when

I can open my eyes.

going to stick it anywhere in the deck. Okay, Andrea?

top. We're going to get rid of your card. Just try not to bend it. Okay,

this trick works. I'm going to have you look at every single card in the deck. I

won't look at the cards.

You're going to look at the cards. I'm going to watch your eyes. And I tell you

what, when your eyes see your card, it's impossible for your eyes not to react.

So I need no emotion, no feeling. Can you do that? I can do it. Okay, poker

face.

Why are you mad at me now? Okay, you ready?

You're prepared. Okay, get ready. I'm going to have you look at every single

card. I'm going to watch your eyes so carefully. I'm going to know when you...

Man, you're not even blinking. You're doing a great job. Look at every single

card. Man, you are good at this.

Now, we're going to do a cool experiment. We asked the studio audience

up with cool pet names. We put them into a book so everybody can read them.

You've got Nico, Blue, Fancy, Max, Bowser, Zeke, all the way through.

So here's what I'd like you to do. I'd like you to make a little table with one

hand, and we're going to put the book right here. Look out into the audience.

With the other hand, you're going to flip up along the hedges and stop at any

page and open it up.

And look at that name, okay? You got one? Yes. Okay, look at it. Don't show

to me. Don't show it to the cat.

Don't show it to the audience.

Now, would you be able to remember that name? Yes. Would you be able to write it

down if you needed to? Yes.

Excellent. Let me have the book. Close it up. All right.

Whiskers, that is for you.

Our next magician brings us magic all the way from England. Say hello to Andy

Gladwin.

So I love silent movies. The actors are able to portray such amazing stories

without saying a single word.

And with the help of Lewis, we're going to do a card trick just like a silent

movie. All you have to do is follow along with what I do, match my actions,

together we're going to perform an amazing card trick.

So here we go. Three, two, one, action.

Let's give it up for Lewis, everyone.

Okay, let's go to the audience camera now and watch the skills of Jason Bird.

Well, thank you very much for helping me out. What I'm going to do is a money

trick, all right? So do you like money?

You know what?

Do you have any?

I actually don't have any. Oh, perfect.

A $1 bill. That's perfect. That'll work great.

I've got a marker, too. What I want you to do is take this, and I want you just

to put your initials on there. Go ahead and find your initials on there so that

we know that that is your bill and nobody else's.

All right? Now, the most famous thing about magic, when a lot of people say,

what is magic?

And it's kind of hard to define. Is it amazement?

Is it fun?

And I've thought about this a lot, and what I've come up with is that at the

of the day, Magic is about transformation.

All right. That's what everything is. All right.

What's the most famous type of transformative animal?

Caterpillar. Good answer.

Watch the pet caterpillar crawls up my arm like that.

And then what's the most famous thing about a caterpillar?

Chains into a butterfly. That's right. Watch your dollar bill.
