Hello everyone, I'm Dean Cain and
welcome to Masters of Illusion.

When you see something that you know is
not possible, your mind will try to tell

you not to believe it.

Unless, of course, it can't. In that
case, you might believe it is possible.

What am I even talking about? I don't
know.

But do you want to see some magic?

All right, here we go.

Four circles representing the four
corners of the Earth.

But do you also see a blue square?

Well, it's not there. It exists only in
your mind's perception.

Well, our masters of illusion can make
you see things that are not there, too.

Now, a team that constantly invents...

the impossible.

This is Jarrett and Roger.

Ma 'am, would you please pick a color?

Ladies and gentlemen, whatever you do,
don't.

Coin collectors marvel at all the
different coins used in the many nations

the world. But our next performer likes
to mix them up right before your eyes.

From Tokyo, this is Shoot Ogawa.

I heard this gentleman from here, but
what's your name?

Andrew, nice to meet you. My name is
Shoot. I know strange names. So, Andrew,

we're going to do magic together, but
you're going to be their eyes.

So you have to see things really well.
So first, open your hands. I dropped

three coins here.

Okay? So can you see? Could you examine
this? This is three different colored

coins. Okay? Very good. So first one is
this, American quarter. It's beautiful

silver coin. Can you see it? Yeah?

Okay? And, you know, you can hear it. So
this is wonderful.

This is the American penny. Okay, you
don't care. I know that. All right, so

that's the whole point. And last one is
going to be the, yes, this is a Chinese

coin having hole in the middle. So it's
a gold color.

So gold color, copper color, and silver
color. That's our three things. So now I

would like to show you, show to everyone
about optical illusion.

It depends on your perspective.

So I hold three coins, which you can see
well, but also show to the camera like

this. So Andrew, which coin is the
biggest coin?

The silver one. Silver one. Yeah, that's
right. It's a little bigger than other

coins. Can you see it? It's almost the
same size, but it's a little bigger.

It's like maybe optical illusion. You
can see that. So it's an optical

but it's pretty much the same. But you
can see like this. If I hold like this,

if I hold like that way.

You feel like it's almost the same size,
isn't it?

If you see this closer, this is bigger.
But if you want to see the same size,

that's the whole point.

So I use these three coins here.

All right. So you can see this is a
Chinese coin.

Beautiful. Made in USA.

It's a tree.

And this beautiful American dollar,
beautiful silver coin made in China.

Okay, so I just move this coin from side
to side like this and toss and catch

like that way. So it's the international
exchange.

So you can move the side to side like
that way.

So I'm glad you like that.

So I will do very, very slow.

Do something.

Don't say anything, okay?

One, one, two, three. Like this way. So
now which hand the coin?

You're almost right. Okay,

it's right here. It's kind of
interesting, isn't it?

Yeah, it's very hard to hide with large
coins, so it's very hard to manage.

Anyway, so now I only want one coin

Okay, snap finger, coin pop up hand to

You don't care that much. I can move
right to left.

Okay, I can do faster like this. Look
fast, right?

So I can drop coin in my hand. Now,
looks like coin's gone.

But you follow the coin by imagination,
which doesn't exist.

Sometimes you think it's here behind
shirts or behind hand which doesn't

was cheating imagination.

performance, there is definitely some

I'm going to show you guys one of my
favorite pieces using a random married

couple from the audience. Tonight I
share with you how to catch a love

To do this, you need a couple of things.

Two different colored ropes to represent
the heart string. Check those out. Make

sure they are nothing other than what I
just... An object given by a loved one.

Your wedding ring will do just fine, if
I can borrow that.

You will get it back.

The rope's good?

Legends say that with just a wave of the
ring, in theory, you've attracted and

caught a love spirit.

We will pass the middles and only the
middles of the rope into the box.

First the red rope.

Lonely.

Then the white one.

Into the box.

Also by itself.

I will even show you inside the box that
the ropes are separate. Take a look.

The ropes are indeed separate, correct?

Yes.

We're going to hold the middles in
place. Here's how. You're going to use

wand. You're going to pass it through
that loop and through that loop. Go

Grab it right there.

I'll make it easier for you. Exactly
like that.

Perfect. And I'll make a tight grip. You
can let go.

And I want you to even hold on to the
ends. You to these ones. You to these

ones.

Don't pull. Just hold. Perfect.

You've seen the ropes going separately.

You've seen them separate inside the
box.

The middles were held in place.

The ends are in your hand.

Yet somehow...

Mysteriously, impossibly, the love
spirit connects the ropes. Gently tug on

ropes till you feel tension.

Do you feel the tension?

That is because the ropes are indeed
connected.

Love spirits are not evil.

They don't want to harm you. The only
thing you got to look out for is your

possession, especially those given by a
loved one.

Are you right -handed?

Would you hold out your right hand?
We're going to place that right there.

your eyes on that. That's very
important.

You see, a love spirit cannot ignore
such a beautiful testament of love. It's

impossible.

Hold on to that.

Hold on to that with your spare hand.

And if you don't watch your love's
possession impossibly, mysteriously,

the love spirit will claim what is
actually.

the amazing card wizardry of Joshua J.

Time now for some sleight of hand.

Your memory is important for this
presentation.

Concentrate on what you see.

Here is Joshua Jay.

What's your name, sir?

Steve. So I know, obviously, that you
can see.

But let's pretend, just for this trick,
that you couldn't. I couldn't say to

you, pick a card, because you wouldn't
be able to see which one you pick. I

couldn't even say, take the deck and
take out any card you want, because even

you got a card, you wouldn't know which
one you have.

So I have the perfect solution.

Hold out your hand.

Put your other hand on top.

Now you have 52 possibilities between
your hands. In a moment, I'm going to

you think of one, but I want you to do
it like this. First, think of the number

of your card. Do you have a number?

Now think of the suit. Do you have a
suit?

Yeah. So if you put the number and the
suit together, you have a card.

A card that only you know. Nobody in
this studio audience has any idea what

you're thinking of except for you.

I'm going to put the blindfold on, and
I'm going to look away. And when I do,

everybody watch his hand.

And I want you to deal the value of your
card. So if you thought of a five, you

would deal one, two, three, four, five,
slowly on the table in a face -down

pile. And when you're done, destroy the
evidence by putting the deck on top.

Audience, you'll tell me when he's done.

Put the deck on top.

Safe to turn around. Now, you did it for
the value. You need to do it for the

suit. So, pick up the cards in your
hand. If you're thinking of a club deal,

card, face down, put the deck on top.
Hearts would be two.

Spades would be three.

Diamonds would be four. And then put the
deck on top to destroy the evidence.

Yes? Done.

Think about this.

Everybody in this theater knows what
card you're thinking of. So now the

question becomes...

How do you find a card for someone's
mind?

And I'll tell you how.

I'll do it by feeling.

two pieces of rope. Rope number one,

number two. And I've got two wonderful

Gravity is a really interesting thing.
We take it for granted.

Gravity is around us all the time.

We're going to show you a little feat
with gravity.

We've got some water.

We have an empty cup.

We're going to take this water, and
we're going to pour it down into the

Now, you can see that gravity allows it
to go all the way down into the cup,

because that's gravity.

Now, if I take this knife, and I go
right through the center of this cup,

and I pull out that knife, gravity
should do something, but it doesn't.

If I put it through the bottom, once
again, gravity should do something, but

doesn't. Because I'm not actually
playing with gravity.

I'm actually playing with magic.

Because actually, I made all of that
water completely disappear.

It is 100 % gone, and that's magic, not
gravity.

They say a picture is worth a thousand
