When you see magic executed at the highest level, you might wonder whether

magician has the ability to alter reality or just your perception of it,

maybe a little bit of both.

Could either of these things be possible?

Well, you want to find out?

All right, let's go.

Well, so too will our masters of illusion tonight bring hidden meanings

performances. All the way from France is one of the most inventive magicians in

the world. Here is Xavier Morton.

We went to South Korea to find our next performer.

Okay. What is the easiest way to create a magic through the imagination?

It is to imagine while watching a shape.

Yeah, this is my ring. And also, this is a circle.

Many magicians show this magic on stage, but I would like to show it right in

front of your eyes.

Myself, along with four random audience members, are going to play a little

game. I'm going to ask you guys a question.

All you have to do is tell the truth. That's it. But here's the kicker.

One of you is going to be lying to me. It's my job to figure out which one of

you is the liar. Now, in order for you guys to know who the liar is without me

knowing, I've got a bag here with four different colored balls in it. What's

going to happen is each one of you is going to reach in, take out a colored

ball. Whichever one of you guys gets the gold ball, that's this one.

You will be the liar. That's what it looks like. Now, whenever you reach in

bag and take out a ball, make sure you put your entire hand around the ball and

put it right behind your back so there's no possible way I can see which one you

got. Got it?

Awesome. Okay. What is your name, my friend?

Tommy. Tommy. Tommy. Awesome. Reach in. Take out a ball directly behind the

back, Tommy, so I cannot see. Just put it right behind your back. And then what

is your name, my friend? Charlie.

Charlie. Charlie, go ahead. Reach in there. Take out a ball.

Nice and quick. Right behind the back so I cannot see. And then what is your

name? Stoner.

Stoner. Your name is Stoner?

This is awesome. Okay, stoner, reach in, take out a ball.

That's the best name of the night. Awesome.

Okay, what's your name, man? Jared.

Jared, reach in, take out a ball right behind the back so I cannot see. Guys,

keep the ball behind your back so there's no way I can see which color

got. One of you knows you have the gold ball. The rest of you have a random

color ball.

If you have a random color ball, you'll be telling the truth. If you have the

gold ball, you will be lying to me. Here we go. The first question is where was

your first kiss? Whoever has the gold ball, think.

About you're a lie. Where was your first kiss?

Tommy, where was your first kiss?

Okay. I'm going to use my imagination on that one. Charlie, where was your first

I don't know if you guys noticed this. Jared and Tommy answered very quickly,

these two guys on the end. They didn't even hesitate.

What that is, that's a telltale sign that they're doing something called a

decision. It shows that they are absolutely telling the truth. They are

lying. Guys, both of you show the ball nice and high. Make sure you do not have

the gold ball.

Yes. Everybody give these guys a big hand.

This time I want you guys to think about the first name of the first person you

had a crush on. What's going to happen is I'm going to count to three. When I

count to three, I'll say go.

Whenever I say go, I want you both to say the name out loud, nice and loud.

Susan, and what was yours?

Sasha.

You're telling the truth. Show everybody you not have the gold ball.

Yes. Stoner is telling the truth. He's got the orange ball, which means,

Charlie, you are the liar. So everybody have the gold ball. Give a big hand to

Wait a second.

I want to point something out. Charlie, you were the liar. You had the gold ball

the whole time, which means you were lying, which means whenever I told you

think about, you didn't say the actual name. You said the name Susan.

I want you to think about the real name. Think about that name and hold that

name in your mind. You got it?

Think about the letters.

See the letters in your mind. Really see the letters in your mind. I'm going to

try and get this right now.

Charlie, here we go.

When I tell people I do magic, they know exactly what that means, sleight of

hand. When I tell people I do mentalism, they stare at me like this.

So let me explain.

Sleight of hand is physically manipulating the world around you using

more than practice.

Flight of mind, that's a different story. You're exploiting loopholes in

psychology and behavior.

For instance, if I were able to always stay one step ahead of you when you were

guessing which hand the chip was in, that would be mentalism. So here, guess

which hand the chip is in.

Yeah, no, I got it. You didn't think I'd do the same thing twice, but I did.

Here, go ahead, point to which hand you think it is.

Yeah, no, no. They always change their mind the second time.

No. No, kept it the same. Or maybe the solution is that I have two poker chips!

Two poker chips, two identical... Okay.

That's cheating, isn't it? Really, that's not really a magic trick.

Unless, of course, it's neither.

Unless it's not sleight of mind or sleight of hand. It's actually an
