Illusion, the art of tricking the brain, distorting the senses, challenging
perception. You can't trust what you see even with your own eyes.
Meet the Masters of Illusion.
Hello everyone, I'm Dean Payne and welcome to Masters of Illusion.
Now it's interesting, the mind interprets what it sees.
and only accepts what it knows. So what happens when you see something that your
mind knows is impossible?
Are you ready to find out?
Yes!
Wow, okay, let's do it.
Is it possible that the brain can look at one image but see two completely
different results?
All right, look at this. What do you see?
Is this the renowned genius Albert Einstein?
Yes. Or look again.
Perhaps you see one of the world's most glamorous stars, Marilyn Monroe?
From the side, yes?
Yes. They don't look anything alike, really, but somehow they do. How is this
possible? Well, our Masters of Illusion will challenge your ability to determine
what is real and what is illusion.
Time now for one of our favorite duos. They not only provide us with a lot of
laughs, but terrific entertainment.
Their timing and showmanship have made them one of our favorites. Here are Les
Arnold. and Dazzle.
It's very difficult to save money these days.
Probably more difficult is finding a way to hold on to the money you have.
Well, check it out. Here is Chris Korn.
Hello, hello.
All right. I need someone to help hold my money. And right there. Your name is?
Give Caleb a round of applause.
Usually I do the magic. I'm going to give you the opportunity to be the
magician. And to do that, I'm going to have you hold some money for me. Hold up
your hand. Keep your hand up just like that. These are some old silver dollars.
See, just three.
I'm going to hold them right here. I'm going to slowly, just slowly close your
fingers. Wait,
let me get one out.
Like it's my money.
I'm going to do a little wave like this, and I want you to crumble in your best
gesture and make one of those disappear.
That was pretty good. That wasn't too bad. Do it this time. Turn your hand
way. And what you're going to do is go like this.
You're going to kind of wiggle your fingers like that.
Wiggle your fingers.
I'm going to move your hand slowly.
Blow on the coins.
Slowly blow on the coins. Go, go, go.
Oh, yeah.
I know. It feels funny.
Where does it come? She has the background view.
The first two she made disappear. The third.
You'll probably wonder where those went. I'll show you. One goes right back
here.
That's two.
A third one right here.
Watch. If we take this one, give it a little toss, and a toss, it looks like
they all disappear.
Why? Why does he do that? I don't even know.
I'll show you where the money goes, though. Watch.
It goes up, down, around. One lands right on my neck. Right there. Can you
that? You see that one?
Watch. We can take that one. If I take it, I split it right in two. We'll do it
again. It'll be like deja vu. Watch.
Squeeze. A little wave.
It goes up, down, around.
It jumps right back.
Third time for the curtain. Hold out your right hand again.
Palm up like this. So it's going to be curtain up, curtain down, curtain down.
And that's one, two, three solar dollars.
Give her a round of applause for being a wonderful magic assistant.
This is a lesson, or maybe a warning.
Don't play poker with a magician.
Watch closely. Here is Nathan Phan.
Hello.
I'm going to give you one, two, three, four, five reasons why you should never
play poker with a magician. There's one.
There's two.
There's three.
There's four. And here comes five, the fifth one.
And just in case you need me to go back over those reasons again, there's five,
there's four, there's three, there's two, there's one. In just case you need
extra one, there's an extra reason. Never play poker with a magician.
Don't miss a unique and spectacular performance by The Alchemist.
Next.
Now and then you see something really extraordinary.
Well, there's no other way to describe our next performer.
Maybe just sensational?
From South Korea, here is The Alchemist.
you
The best. Watch the astounding skill of Bill Cook.
Now let's go to the audience for a few surprises from the always unpredictable
Bill Cook.
Hi, friends.
Young lady, what is your name?
Elf? Bill. Nice to meet you. Elf, will you stand right here next to me?
give it up for Elf. He's so fantastic.
El, I have a question. Do you like animals?
Yes. Yes, good. If you said no, this next trick gets really bad, really fast.
So, what's your favorite animal with four legs?
A dog. A dog. El, you have saved the day. I have a bag full of balloon animal
balloons. What's your favorite color balloon?
Blue. Blue, perfect. I have a white balloon. You're going to like this
It's going to be great for you.
I promised you a dog, and I'm a man of my word. I'm from Chicago. It's a hot
dog. Woof.
Front of dog, woof.
Then a body.
Then a foot. Then a foot.
Then a butt.
Watch it twerk.
Elle, I made you a doggy.
Elle,
what's your dog's name?
Honey. Honey. Honey the dog. Honey, sit.
Stay. Beg for food.
That's me.
Roll over.
Show them your favorite scary movie.
If the kids are laughing, that's not my fault, okay?
Honey, lay down.
Honey, play dead.
You don't even look upset.
Okay, well, I'll fix it for you. I learned this thing in high school called
certified puppy resuscitation.
So you put the pieces of honey back into the bag and you blow honey back up.
Here, honey.
Good little doggy.
Honey comes right back to give it up for Elle and her puppy, Honey.
There you go, sweetheart. Thank you so much. You've been fantastic.
Give it up for Elle.
A true master of the impossible, here is Eric Jones.
Hey guys, I've asked two beautiful young ladies to come help me out. I want to
show you guys something really cool. If I could have you each hold on to half of
the cards, and if you could, shuffle them. That way you know there's no way
I could know the order of the cards that you're holding.
When you're satisfied that the cards that you're holding are shuffled,
in a different order, I want you to take out one card, separate it from the
others, and then pass me the remainder of your packet.
Which is just a convoluted way of saying pick a freaking card, right?
Alright? I'll take those back from you. Thank you so much. If you guys don't
mind, please show everyone at home what your cards are. I won't blow.
Awesome. If I could have you say stop as I pass the cards just there, I'll drop
your card right into the center of the pack, losing it forever.
If I could do the same with you, just drop your card right there into the
center. Both cards lost in the pack.
I've got no idea where they are.
Here's something really cool.
Watch.
Let me ask you, did you feel that?
Yes. She felt the wind.
Did you feel the card?
No. Yeah?
That's your card?
Yes. So that would be your card.
Here's the interesting thing.
This can't possibly be your card because, of course, it's hers, yeah?
If you could keep your eyes on the 10, but also watch the hand.
Because the second I snap my fingers, I can get the card to change to yours.
Yeah, you got to keep your mouth closed. That's interesting. But I want to show
you something else. This is going to be even cooler. I'm going to use the two
jokers. I'll give each of you one to hold on to.
And we're going to find a card by saying stop at the same time. I'm going to
pass through the cards like this. I'm going to say one, two, three. And
you're ready, you say stop. And that's where we'll stop.
One, two, three.
Perfect. So wherever you say stop, this will be the card.
The lucky ace of spades. The big bullet, as they say.
I'm going to bury that card somewhere in the middle of the pack.
And I'm going to use the two jokers. I'll take those back from you ladies.
I'm going to leave them right here. All you have to do is keep your eyes on the
space between the two jokers.
If you do me a favor, say the words ace of spades.
Ace of spades? Boom.
Imagine that I have an invisible ace of spades right here at my fingertips and
I'm able to place it in between those two jokers.
If I could have you use your left hand and just grab that invisible ace and
abracadabra... One card appears in between.
It's the ace of spades. Isn't that incredible?
Isn't that cool?
Give these ladies a round of applause.
Thank you so much. You're awesome.
Is the hand quicker than the eye?
Watch Xavier Mortimer next.
never fails to amaze us with his impeccable timing and original
Here is Xavier Moore.
Well,
that's it. How did they do it?
Well, you can't ask me because I'm as baffled as you are.
Until next time, I'm Dean Cain.
Good night.
