Well, this portrait of a lawyer or a scientist or maybe a teacher is composed

the many cards in a deck.

You can discover it only when you look closely.

But watch our illusionists closely tonight because maybe they have multiple

meanings. This performer has an unusual partner to help him deliver a mystery

with a twist.

Thank you so much. I want to show you something pretty unusual.

But to do that, I need to find one of you to help me out. Who wants to come up

here and give me a hand?

I'm going to hold these cards up to you, and I just want you to think of one. I

Now, here comes the interesting part.

Obviously, we have to figure out what that card is.

But I am not going to read your mind.

I have an apprentice who's going to read her mind.

Now, believe it or not, he is a mind -reading mouse.

you accidentally drop one, and now you know that that's the dangerous one.

That's like a time bomb waiting to go off. So here's what's going to happen.

like, and I'm going to do something here to try to influence your choice.

Ashley. Actually, we're going to do something a little bit weird, a little

It's a kumquat. We'll get straight to it. It's a very thick -looking kumquat.

Take a look at that kumquat. Can you confirm that that is indeed a real

I want you to just examine those needles. Can you make sure those needles

indeed very real? They are? Great. Now, Ashley, I want you to take out any

And I want you to make sure that that needle you chose is quite sharp.

I'll take the kumquat. I don't want you to hurt yourself.

And actually, you've got the needle, and I've got a piece of string here, okay?

This is going to get a little bit strange, a little bit weird.

Here is Eric Jones.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Eric Jones, and the type of

that I perform uses ten fingers and a bit of cleverness. I'll show you what I

mean. These are three solid silver American half dollars from the turn of

last century.

The idea is really simple.

One at a time, you'll see the three coins as they fly.

from the fingertips here to the fingertips here, but hopefully without

seeing it go. Now, maybe that went a little too fast. Maybe you didn't know

to look for.

So I'll put this one down, that way you can see it again, and I'll even tell you

where to watch.

All you have to do is keep your eye on this little guy, because you know

where the coin is. You also know where the coin's going to go.

I'll do it in slow motion, so you can see the moment.

The second, the very instant the next coin passes from your left,

Now, I'll be honest with you. This one travels in really weird ways.

For instance, on a good day, I can get this little guy to go up the arm.

On a really good day, I can get it to roll down the fingers.

And on an exceptional day, I can get a coin like this to jump from the

fingertips here to the fingertips here to here and back.

And that's the trick with one, two, and three pieces of silver.

Many, many years ago, I was invited to perform in India for a guru.

He asked me to perform at his birthday celebration, a lavish event where there

were to be many invited, and I was to be in Bolavkuri, India, for three days in

preparation for the big event.

But one day I decided to leave the ashram palace and head into the city. It

there where I discovered these street performers.

Some ate fire, and others just had spicy food.

But the most unbelievable stunt that I witnessed that warm summer day was

performed with this this simple Indian ink pen

Then I decided to take a walk further down the road in search of something

real, and it was there where I met a man named Toulouse.

He was a fakir.

He began twisting and turning and turning and twisting.

He began to work on this tiny Rubik's Cube. Toulouse attempted to solve the

cube, but there was no conclusion, and then he did the impossible.
