All right.

Hello, everybody.

I'm Dean Kaye, and welcome to Masters of Illusion. If you've ever seen a magic

show before... you know that these feats are extremely challenging and often

dangerous. Are you ready to see what I mean?

It's the danger that got me. Watch out. That's good.

At first glance, this painting looks like a skull, the symbol of death.

On second look, we see a woman and her reflection in a mirror.

Tonight's illusionists will reflect images that I promise will surprise you.

As we've seen, some magicians use ordinary objects to do extraordinary

This illusionist prefers large industrial machinery.

Almost any decent magician worth his salt can do a card trick.

But it takes a master to pull off something like this.

So, everyone close enough? We good?

Yep.

So, I'm going to show you some sleight of hand. One of the first rules in magic

that I ever learned was that you have to do your homework first. As I grew up in

magic a little bit, I learned...

The higher grades I got, the more time I got to spend on my magic. So I'll show

you one of the first tricks I learned, and it looks like this.

Name a number, one, two, three, four, or five.

Five. Five it is, okay.

I didn't want to confuse you there. One, two, three, four, five, cut.

It's just how many times I cut the card.

That's one way. Here's the fancy way.

Way too many hours alone.

Really way too many.

As I grew up in magic a little bit, I would hide under the sheets. I'd pull

sheets up over my head, and I'd hold a flashlight. I was supposed to be asleep.

And I'd end up with a card face up, like this, and face down.

So without the flashlight, I hear Mom come down, and I shut off the light, but

still want to shuffle the cards, right? I mix them up, just like this.

And so you can see, when I turn the flashlight back on, as you can see, it

bit of a mess.

Some near the middle, even, were back to back.

Until I snapped and I turned that flashlight back on. That's the moment

magic happened.

What was that number you named? Five. Yeah, all the cards straighten out

the one, two, three.

It kind of worked. Very happy about it.

And now, a cautionary tale about demonic possession and oral hygiene.

This is a tale unlike all the rest, about the young boy whose tongue was

possessed.

So he kept his mouth shut, closed all day long, for if he opened his mouth,

tongue, it went wrong.

Because of his tongue, he had no friends in his class.

The boys would all kick him, and rub his face in the grass.

At dinner time, the girls would all stare.

Every time he ate food, it went everywhere.

One day in his room, tongue slapping away, he said to himself, this is the

time. day, Sue ran to the bathroom as fast as a dart, grabbed his dad's razor

blade, then made sure it was sharp.

Enough is enough, he said with a cough.

Then uttered the word, I'll cut you right off.

His tongue started wriggling like an electric eel, but then snatched from his

grasp that sharp blade of steel.

The boy was worried and taken aback, so quick as he could, grabbed another blade

from its pack.

He opened his mouth. The boy was insane, but the tongue just whipped out and did

it again.

The tongue snatched one more blade, and then another, and one more

made five.

With all that in his mouth, it was a wonder the boy was still alive.

Enough of this stuff, he thought to himself.

I'll tie my tongue down with... dental floss off the shelf.

He broke off a bit, about 10 inches long.

16 inches long.

Then tried to tie his tongue down, but his tongue was too strong.

It just sucked up the floss like a piece of spaghetti.

It made him so nervous his brow got all sweaty.

The boy was in shock, a complete state of awe, as his mischievous tongue took

control of his jaw.

Slowly. He reached into his mouth, grabbed the end of the floss, decided it

time to show the tongue who was boss.

But as he retched out the floss, the boy was astonished.

When the tongue took the floss, it tied all blades upon it.

When he saw those blades tied, he got an idea.

He could travel the world. This seat could make his career.

The tongue that once upon a time made him cry, he now proudly flashed it

-by. The tongue that had plagued him his whole damned life could now free him

from all his trouble and strife.

But as he dreamt of all those things he was needing, he didn't realize he was

internally bleeding.

He choked, and he fluttered, and then he died.

But the worst thing of all, the tongue, it survived.

Okay? Hold on to it, but don't look at it yet.

Okay. I'm going to turn my back.

I want you to look at it. I want you to show all your friends.

If you have friends.

Show all your friends.

So now we have a card. I don't know what it is. I mean, you. You look, Arcee. I

need you to do me a favor. Think of a famous painting.

Not like the blue boy, but like a famous painting. Got one?

Now, before we go any further, I want to let you know that I took one playing

card out of this deck, turned it upside down, and placed it inside the middle.

Your personal assistant is going to find the card.

Don't look so thrilled.

To prove that it's not the same card over and over again, I want you to take

your phone, push the home button, say, pick a card.

We'll see what it says. Then we'll do it again, and you can do it as many times

as you want.

We've got all night until you come to a card you're satisfied with. Okay?

Push and hold the home button and say, pick a card.

I'm going to pick a band as well. We're going to play a little game. Everybody,

dangle your band like this. Have you ever done this when you were growing up

a kid and tried to twist them around your finger? We're going to have a race

see who can do it quicker. I'll tell you what. I'll start like this, okay? You

ready? On the count of three. One, two, three, go.

I win.

I know.

I'm a cheat. But now you know what to expect.

So I'll tell you guys what.

I'm going to use your two rubber bands.

Here's one.

And here's one. Now, you check them out. They're all okay, right? Yeah.

But these are really cool. You've heard of the linking ring. These are actually

linking one, two, three rubber bands.

I know. Pretty cool, right? Thank you. They don't just link on one side. They

actually link on two.

Now, it's really cool when I can pull it off just like this of one thread.

But it's better if you could go ahead and pinch face up just like that.

Perfect. Go ahead and pinch right where it blinks, and you take it off yourself.

Thank you so much. It's like you're doing the magic, right? Now, I'm going

need you guys to point at each other real quick.

Point. It feels like a showdown, doesn't it? All right. What I want you to do is

go ahead and put it towards me.

That's good. And go ahead and secure that.

Great. And you go ahead and do the same thing. Scoot a little bit closer. You go

ahead and secure that. Hold it up nice and high for everybody else. Now,

everybody can see, right?

The rubber bands are in front. You guys see that?

Yeah. Okay?

Just like this. You just rub really quickly, and it melts.

Straight look it could be strapped directly in the middle now watch right

here because that's where the magic happens No go ahead and unhook make

sure that that's real is that is that real all right good you sure make sure

this one's real All right, don't examine it too closely. I'm just kidding go

ahead and point point again from pointing at each other again perfect And

hook that there uh -huh and hook that there okay spread as far out as you

possibly can that's Perfect. Now you guys see that it's in front again, but

know magicians can't do the same trick twice, and we're not going to. See,

instead of having it melt through, I would rather it melt completely inside

another. No!
