Mel is the name of the assistant of tomorrow.

Right now, meet Jason Bird.

It's good to be here. I do need somebody to help me. So I'm going to come on the

audience, and we're going to find somebody out here.

Let's find somebody.

Actually, yeah, you want to help? Yeah, come on over here. What's your name?

Angie. Angie. Give a big round of applause for Angie.

Come on up here, Angie.

I'm going to have you stand right here. Now, Angie, we're going to do a card

trick for that.

We need a deck of cards, all right?

Angie, are all these cards different?

Yes. Yes, all right. I want you to pick out any one of those cards, any card

that you would like. Take a look at it. Memorize it. And actually, I'm going to

have you make that card unique, okay? Sign your name really big across the

of the card, all right? So that we know that that is your card.

Perfect. I'll take the marker back. Show the card to everybody so everybody can

see your signature right there.

Very good.

All right, Angie, I'm going to take your card. I will not look at it. We're

going to put it back in the center of the deck. Is that your card yet? In the

center of the deck, yeah?

All right, good. Now you are going to hold on to this. Okay.

You're going to hold on to the deck of cards because this is not one of those

tricks where I am going to find your card.

It's not one of those tricks.

I have somebody that's going to help me find the card.

All right. This is the future of magic right here. Angie is the magician's

electronic lady or Mel.

Yeah. Mel is going to help us do the trick. Okay.

I'm going to put Mel right here.

All right, Angie.

Hold that deck of cards. Your card's still in there. Here we go. We'll see if

Mel can get off the ground here.

Perfect. Now, Heather, this is one of my favorite sounds in the world. Maybe

it's one of yours. I just have a weird obsession with it. I'll try and get you

to hear it. Listen very carefully.

That's the first part. And then there's the big.

Yes. And Heather, if you would please take one of the glasses.

Now take a glass and we're going to pour a little bit of soda for me.

And then a little bit of soda for you.

Yeah? All right.

Now, here's what I want you to do. I want you to take the soda. And, Heather,

this sounds a little weird, but hold the soda like this, and please place it on

top of your head. Yes.

Now, I can make this part up, guys. Heather, here's what I want you to do.

I want you to think of this soda and try and crush it with your mind.

Now, I can't make this part up, but the other night, Heather, when I said that

to a guy, he got up, ran at me, and crushed the can with his forehead.

Don't do that. Try and crush it with your mind. Ready, set, go.

Oh my God.

Now, some of you are like, wow, that's really amazing.

Most of you are like, that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life.

Heather, actually, we need one other thing, and that is this magic fork.

soda on your head disappear?

We have also cards for you. I just want to show you. We have these really cool

flash cards. They have animals on them as you can see. We have pony. We have

mouse.

Cat, spider, monkey, spider monkey, deer, gorilla, bear. You get the idea

oh, bat upside down, because it's a bat.

There we are.

And tiger. So we have a whole bunch of really cool cards just like that. As a

matter of fact, I am going to shuffle them up just a little bit.

There we go. I'm going to turn them, and I'd like you to hold onto them right

there. Face forward. Don't move. You're doing great. We're over to you, Anthony.

Anthony, right?

Okay, same sort of thing, Anthony. We have a bunch of cards all with the same

ones that she has. There you go. Bat, cat, anything that rhymes. Shark, that

doesn't rhyme.

Whale, there you got the idea. And once again, I'm going to shuffle them up.

Yikes, just a little bit. Here we go. There we are. And I'd like you to hold

them down just like that. Now, I want you to hold them flat.

In whatever hand feels good. There you go. What I'd like you to do is slide

either three to ten cards, whatever you want, off to the right and then put them

underneath the pack. Okay, go for that right now.

Three to ten cards and then underneath the pack.

Perfect. All right, size them up. Now, I'd like you to slide half of the cards

so you have half the cards in one hand, half the cards in the other hand. So

slide them over, half in one, half in the other. Hold them out in front of

Big smiles.

Excellent. Now, you get to decide to throw either the right hand or the left

hand. pack of cards up and over your shoulder. Could be the right, could be

left, could be the left, could be the right. Do not throw both, otherwise the

rest of the trick will suck, okay?

You get the idea?

All right, I'm giving you permission to actually throw them, so that's okay. All

right, here we go.

Go ahead, toss them up if you would. On the count of three. One.

Two.

Three. Yes, excellent.

Why not?

Okay, you know what? We'll do it again. So slide the other half. So we have half

again, half again, and either hand.

Perfect. Hold them out in front. And once again, you're going to toss them,

whichever one, not both, but whichever one, up and over your shoulder. Are you

ready? Yeah, go for it.

You're waiting for three, aren't you?

Yeah, okay.

One, two, four.

No, that was fine. You did good. Let me have the remaining cards.

I'm going to spread them out here just a bit. Yeah, move on over here. I'd like

you to, one finger, high in the air, and then bring it down and touch any of the

cards, okay?

All right, whichever one you want. Yeah, bring it up and touch it again,

whichever one, just to verify.

And we'll bring that one to the top.

Excellent. Big smile to the audience.

All right, hold on to that. Don't look at it. Hold it to your chest. These

we are going to throw away.

We're over to you, Anthony.

I'm going to spread these out.

One finger up in the air. Thank you for choosing the right finger. And then go

ahead and tap any of the cards, if you would, please. And then bring it up. Tap

again. Bring your hand up. There we go. And you can bring your hand down. Okay.

And then you're going to do the same thing.

Right? Yeah. Don't look at it. Hold it right there.
