He passed away in 1926, but he can still confuse us. Which way is he looking?

Right at us?

Or is he staring away?

Well, our first master illusionist will challenge us the same way. Can he make

us see what he wants us to see?

Time for a classic escape in the tradition of Harry Houdini. Only one

today is capable to be the death -defying daredevil of danger.

Prepare yourself for Ed Alonzo.

And now, I'd like to weave a tale from the past about the greatest escape

and magician in history, the great Harry Houdini.

Houdini was once known as the King of Hancock.

He claimed he could escape from almost any pair.

Now, the secret lie in his wife's hair.

You see, just before they would snap on the cuffs, Houdini would give his wife,

Beth, a hug, reaching up and carefully stealing out a hairpin from her hair.

Well, it just so happens that I use a few hairpins.

So tonight, I will attempt to escape from a pair of handcuffs while locked in

this. Tiny bombs.

Here are two guys who want to explain why they are so excited tonight.

The actually very exciting David and Lehman.

I'm David.

And I'm Leland. And five years ago when we started working together, when we

came out on stage, it gave us a huge adrenaline rush. And we got to say. We

excited. We got really excited.

We got really, really excited. The problem is the more shows you do, the

it is to get excited in front of a crowd. It's so hard to get excited now.

there's nothing we want to do tonight more than get excited in front of you

guys. The problem is to get that level of excitement, you need adrenaline.

That's right. And you have to get to the root of an adrenaline rush, which is

fear. Now, I have a fear of being shot in the face.

And I have a fear of shooting someone in the face. It's true.

It's a good thing we have complimentary fears. It makes us a great team. That's

right. Tonight, David and I will try and overcome our fears and in the process

totally get excited.

We will do that by using one of these, a paintball.

But to make a paintball something to be feared, you need one of these.

This is a paintball gun. If you don't know how one of these works, we'll show

you right now. The paintball goes in the loading chamber.

Three, two.

One. Perfect.

Now, I'll paint.

Now, as you can see, it's not fatal, but it can hurt quite a bit.

Now we need a volunteer.

Don't worry, the volunteer's not going to shoot the gun or be shot by the gun.

The volunteer's going to make sure that everything we do up here is for real,

but most importantly, the volunteer has got to want...

To get excited. Yeah, that's right. We need somebody who really wants to get

excited on stage.

How about this guy right over here? Yeah, this guy right here in the shirt.

What's your name, sir?

I'm going to give Al a huge round of applause. Al, thanks for coming up on

stage.

Al or Al?

Al. Al. Thanks for coming up.

Go ahead and stand right here in the middle, Al.

Al, reach in, grab any paintball that you would like.

Perfect. I have a pin that clicks open like this one. Click that pin open, put

your initials on your paintball.

Now, what this does is it makes the paintball completely unique to the

yours. Got it. Show, hold it up by your face, and they're going to zoom in and

get a close -up on it.

Al, in a second, I'm going to take that gun from you. I'm going to fire your

paintball across the stage at David's face, totally getting excited.

He's going to get real excited, Al. The problem is, shooting at David's face

scares me, but I came prepared.

Instead of shooting at David's actual face, I will shoot at a replica of

face, something I do myself pretty good, right?

I will trade you. You hold on to the paper target. I will take the gun.

And you hold that target about two inches in front of the barrel of the

I feel like you don't want to get excited.

I feel like you don't want to get excited. I've never wanted to get

in all my life. Oh, is that right? Yeah. The question is, do you want to get

excited? I want to get excited right now.

Al, do you want to get excited?

Yeah. Yeah. Do you guys want to get excited?

Getting excited in front of a crowd. Here we go. One, two, three.

Al, did it go through the paper?

Yes, it did. Get ready to catch the, go to David as if to catch the paintball.

Oh, sorry. I was not scared to shoot him in the hand. Scared to shoot him in the

mouth. Take the, take the, take the.
