Reality and perception are not always the same.

Sometimes the eye can intentionally confuse the brain.

Is this a total distortion?

Well, can you tell that this is an illustration of perfect circles?

The brain has to work hard to separate them.

Well, here is a truly spectacular illusion performed by Tommy Wind.

Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we're going to make a miracle happen on the

You know, next piece of magic always makes me a lot of friends. You're going

see why in just a moment. This is called the glass and the bottle illusion.

I call it the glass and the bottle illusion because it uses a glass and a

bottle. Very easy.

To follow along, the idea of the illusion is to make the glass and the

change places on the table without me touching them.

So I'm making these two newspaper tubes. This is tube number one. It fits right

over the bottle so I don't have to touch it. This is tube number two.

Tube number two fits right over the glass so I don't have to touch it. When

remove the two tubes, the glass will be on that side, the bottle on that side.

Are you ready to see it? Say yes.

Yes. Good.

Tube number one, over the bob.

Tube number two.

Awkward.

I'm sorry. I should tell you, I always carry an extra bottle with me.

Just in case that one breaks, I can still do the illusion for you.

Just forget about it. Okay, tube number one over the bottle, slow motion. Tube

number two over the glass. Glass becomes the bottle. Bottle becomes the glass.

Watch very closely. Glass, bottle, bottle, glass.

I know what you're thinking.

You're thinking there's an extra bottle under the table. No, no. It's just the

one glass, the one bottle, and the two tubes. Tube number one, always over the

bottle. Tube number... Sorry, too many bottles. Tube number one over the

Tube number two over the glass. Glass becomes the bottle. Bottle becomes the

glass. When they change places, there's always the one extra... Too many

bottles. I'm sorry. We'll keep going. Glass becoming the bottle. Bottle

the glass.

Already too many bottles. Too many bottles.

It's confusing. I'll do it with one tube only. One tube only. Glass becomes the

bottle. Bottle becomes the glass. Like I said, too many bottles.

Sometimes I don't even use a glass for the trick.

Sometimes I use two bottles. Sometimes I use two glasses, but only if there's an

extra bottle to fill those glasses.

If I do see two glasses, I say the word cheers at a table full of bottles is why

I have so many friends.

This illusion ends before it begins.

Here are our favorite troublemakers from Scotland with more mayhem, Barry and

The piranha fish, famous because they're carnivores.

In this murky swamp water here we got from the Ely River, we have some real

piranha fish.

Now, these aren't just any old piranhas. They're actually educated. They're

clever. They have college degrees in chemistry, physics.

that were doing that. The big ones that are in that tank, they are even

cleverer. Yeah, you can ask the big ones any question in the world and they will

actually know the answer. And we're going to put them to the test in this

questions from a popular family game that we can't name for legal reasons.

if you're in the pursuit of trivial facts, you might want to play it. You

know which one we're referring to. The person sitting right there, I'm going to

ask you to just select one of the categories.

do. Those are hard questions. What you do is choose one of the question cards,

take anyone you like, and have a look at that question card. Make sure that they

are different questions and different answers. We're not cheating.

It's got to do with his forehead. Now, that would be amazing if I just stuck to

No, this is not a 4013C. I get to keep this.

But here, I want you to hold on to that for a second. I have a Sharpie marker.

I want you to take this marker, write your name across the bill. That way we

will recognize it if we ever see it again.

But I have to use it. You can use it. It's fine. Don't worry. Go ahead and

your name on the bill for me, please.

Write it pretty big, though, so they can see it on the camera.

Eric, thank you. I will take the pen back. If you would, turn the bill

the camera. That way the people at home can see the bill with your name on it.

All right, Eric, where are you from?

This is a nice place.

Well, where I come from, writing on a bill like this is illegal.

But that's okay. I came up with a way to make the ink that he wrote on the bill

with invisible.

You guys seem really excited.

You start by folding the bill in half, Eric, then you fold it into quarters,

then finally into sixteenths.

Now if you're confused, that's math.

I take the bill, put it inside the fifth, then apply a little bit of heat,

Eric, check it out, the ink that you wrote on the bill with is now invisible.

Thanks for your help.

right. You're not leaving.

Fine. We'll do, look, I'll make it up to you. Okay. We'll do something else. Um,

let's see. Oh, I know here. We'll do, we'll do a card trick. Okay. But Eric,

it's a really good card trick. You'll probably want to tip me a hundred bucks

the end or not. That's fine too.

All right, Eric, here's what's going to happen. I'm going to run my thumb along

the cards like this. I want you to say stop for me somewhere in the middle.

Perfect. Take that card. Look at it. Don't let me see it, but hold it up so

the camera can zoom in on it.

And Eric, just like you did on the bill, I want you to take this marker, write

your name across the face of it, okay? And while you're doing that, I'm going

show everyone a feat of skill.

Get ready.

All right. Now, Eric, here's what's going to happen. I'm going to go through

cards like this. I want you to say stop for me somewhere in the middle. Stop.

Perfect. Put your card back right there. Oh, face down. Good choice.

I'm not going to do sleight of hand, Eric. What I am going to do, though, is

called sleight of foot.

I'll show you what I mean. Watch.

Which you have to admit, even if this isn't your card, it's super impressive.

But Eric, lucky for me, it's sort of a wet card.

It's a smelly card.

And it's your card, the Jack of Diamonds, with Eric written on it.

But look, I want to show you something interesting about this card that you

signed a few moments ago. If I tear this card that you signed in half like this,

you find that among the layers of the card, Look at this. I'm going to show

in there. Look at it. Among the layers of the card, actually sealed inside this

card, embedded into the layers of this playing card, is something that

be there.

Inside the layers of your signed card is, in fact, a $100 bill.

But, Eric, this would only be good if this was the same $100 bill that you

me. If this is the same $100 bill that you signed just a few moments ago, I

you to say in a really loud voice, yes.

Yes. That's Eric's signature.
