Illusion, the art of tricking the brain, distorting the senses, challenging

perception. You can't trust what you see, even with your own eyes.

Meet the Masters of Illusion.

Hello, hello, and welcome to Masters of Illusion. We have a wonderful show

tonight, and illusion is what it's all about.

Reality and perception are not always the same. Here is a perfect illustration

to play on our minds.

What do you see here?

Buried in the word illusion is also the word optical.

Do you see it? And so tonight, our illusionists will also play with your

Watch Greg Fruin and a pressure cooker for your mind.

Here's a very unusual performer.

Not because of the way he dresses, but because he does his own sound effects.

Meet the amazing Piff the Magic Dragon.

Good evening.

Good evening.

My name's Piff the Magic Dragon. I'm a dragon who does magic. I'm going to do

some magic.

What's your name?

No, not you, sir.

What's your name, princess?

Hi, hi.

What?

Great, that's perfect. Come on stage. Round of applause for this lady who I

can't hear her name. Come on stage.

Come on.

Hi, how are you?

Over here?

What's your name? I didn't...

Winter Grace, that is a very long and complicated name. Winter Grace, would

like to see a card trick? Good, because I'm going to do one.

So, you're going to reach in, you're going to grab any one of these cards. It

could be literally anyone, anyone at all, Winter Grace. You just reach in.

Oh, Winter Grace will do it the hard way.

Perfect, do you have a pen?

No, what's that behind your ear?

Oh!

Sit down, you're embarrassing me. This is for you, Winter Grace. Lovely.

You're going to write your name all over the front of that card. That's it.

Write your name all over the front of the card.

Send me the weasel.

You good?

Baby carrot?

No, I'm fine.

Being polite.

All right. Anyway, back on the deck.

Wherever you want to go, just put it back in. Say, yep, yep, go for it.

you're ready.

That's it.

Don't be shy, this is it.

Separate, don't ever get in the way, just... Okay.

Just about there, perfect.

Everybody remember when to break this card?

Nothing.

I'm going to shuffle up the cards, you're going to say stop whenever you

Anytime you want to say stop, I will stop shuffling the cards.

Just there, no more shuffling.

Perfect.

I'm going to give you something.

So, let's see what we have for you. This is for you.

Not forever.

Like two inches, please. Two inches of that.

You're going to take two inches of that. I'm going to do the difficult bit.

I'm going to do a bit of Christmas wrapping for you.

Two inches and break it off. Yeah.

Break it off.

With your teeth. That's fine. That's perfectly.

You're going to wrap that.

Tie that onto the bottom. It's there for me. Tie that.

Nicely.

Nicely done. Here we go. We're going to try and find Winter Grace's card like a

little magic dragon. Do you remember what your card was?

Good. Because that's going to make the rest of this slightly more interesting.

Here we go, ladies and gentlemen. Winter Grace's card like a magic dragon.

Is that your Bible, please?

That's it? That's for you? I'd like my pen back. They're quite expensive.

Ladies and gentlemen, round of applause for Winter Green.

Ladies and gentlemen, please.

Michael Grandinetti is one of our favorite magicians. Let me warn you, he

attraction for valuable objects.

Thank you, everyone.

I want to show you some sleight of hand magic, and I'm going to need your help.

Is there anybody here who has a necklace I could borrow? If you do, please raise

your hand.

If you do, would you come up here?

Give her a hand if she joins us.

How are you?

What's your name?

Allie, come with me. You having fun tonight?

Wonderful. Stand right here. That's a beautiful necklace. Would you mind

it off?

I promise it will be safe, and I promise we'll give it back to you.

Now, everybody else, I want you to watch this very closely.

Okay.

Take it.

Now, I am going to hold it up so that our camera...

to come in and do a really tight shot of this necklace.

And that way, everybody will remember it.

Now, Allie, watch this very closely.

You and I are going to do some magic together. The necklace goes down to my

hand.

And I'm going to do this slowly.

Okay. Now, hold out both your hands for me.

And cover my wrist with your left hand.

Now, I'm going to open my hand so the necklace is right between our palms. Can

you feel it?

Yeah. Rub your hand over mine.

And it's done.

Lift up your hand.

It's gone.

Now, I promise to give it back, and you're going to give it back in a very

unusual way.

Watch.

Everybody keep your eye on this weird glass box.

Watch.

Hey everybody, take a look at our net. Does something look familiar?

Yeah?

We'll give that back to you. You can see it's perfectly safe. Thank you so much.

Give her a very big hand.

Thank you guys so much.

When we return, Chipper Lowell and Michael Turco.

I guarantee you, you will get a charge out of our next performer.

He is unstoppable.

Chipper Lowell.

Thank you.

Ask the studio audience what unusual items they might have in the trunks of

their car.

Really unusual items they came up with. And I made a list right here of some of

the top most unusual ones. Let's take a look. Number one, waffle iron. Number

two, you have stuffed moose head.

Three, petrified French fries. Number four, clown wig, scorpion, tap shoes,

moldy watermelon. I don't want to ask. Garden gnome, probably someone else's

you took off.

You have holy bowling ball. Now, they told me that was not like a bowling ball

owned by the Pope. That was actually a bowling ball that they cut so many holes

in it to get the right finger measurement that it became unusable. So

it in the back of their trunk.

We have shark fin, bagpipe, which really, the back of a trunk is the best

for bagpipes, yes.

Hotel bathroom, stolen.

Gorilla suit, maybe not.

Parachute, flattened squirrel, melted bag of ice. Empty ant farm, set of

dentures. With those in mind, ladies and gentlemen, it is now time to play the

Junk in the Trunk game.

Are you ready?

I said, are you ready?

All right.

Follow along. Here we go.

I'd like everyone to choose a number from one to nine. Choose a number from

to nine. Please keep that number to yourself.

Got it?

All right. Now, multiply that by three.

Got it?

All right. Then, I'd like you to add three to it.

Got it?

And now, multiply by three again.

And we've just lost half the audience.

At this point, some of you may have a two -digit number.

If you do, I'd like you to make this even more random. Take the first digit

add it to the second digit to come up with a completely new number. Got it?

All right. Take a look at the board. Find your number and the corresponding

item.

And now, this box. It's been on stage the entire time. Inside there is

from my trunk that I think you're going to find sort of interesting. As a matter

of fact, I think it may match.

what at least one of you is thinking.

If it does match, I want you to do me a favor. Whoever that person is, if it

matches, you jump up out of your seat. You go nuts. You applaud. You just go

crazy. Promise?

Not good enough. Promise?

Moment of truth.

Let's take a look.

Mighty safety.

Okay, this is embarrassing because there was supposed to be more of you.

Wow.

Live audience.

Oh,

I forgot to tell you. I always use a watermelon to protect my bowling ball.

Is it a match?

you're looking for a date, Michael Turco is the guy to know.

There's no one left to question you Mom and Dad Mom

and Dad

We'll be back with Nathan Burton and Jeff McBride.

Making torture transparent is the goal of the incredible Nathan Burke.

Thank you very much.

Well, I need to come out of the audience and find a guy that maybe works out,

kind of strong, kind of buff.

Who do we have today right here? What's your name, sir?

My name is James.

James. Give James a big hand. Let's hear it for him. Come on, James. Come right

up here.

Lots of steps. Come right up here. Center stage.

Now, James, I have a very special job for you tonight. I have something coming

out on stage.

I really want you to take a good look at it, really check it out, really examine

it.

James, how's it look?

Great, great.

Actually, James, we're talking about the clear straight jacket.

You didn't even see that, did you? Now, the clear straight jacket, the reason

it's clear is because they use it in maximum security prisons, so you can't

any guns or knives or weapons.

And I want you to help me get in that bad boy. Is that cool?

All right, I'm going to jump in this thing.

And this is the lovely Jackie, and James, she's going to help you out. I

you to start with the top buckle.

Work your way down, showing no mercy.

Don't worry about me getting nice and tight and snug as possible. That's good.

He's doing a great job.

Jackie, how's he doing?

He's doing great. Good. Have you ever done this before, James?

No. First time. Welcome to L .A. Okay.

Work your way down.

And he's got it. Yes.

Good. Now, James, we've got one more at the very bottom.

That's you and me, big guy. You ready? Okay. I'm going to turn around. Hold on.

Whoa. Easy, Tiger. Here we go. On the count of three. One, two, three. Go for

it. Yes.

Okay.

All right. Go ahead and buckle it up. It's tight. Whoa. Hello, dude.

Oh,

that's good right there.

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate that.

Oh, yeah. Thanks a lot.

All right. So we got one more strap. These are the arms.

Grab both arms. Pull it about as tight as that bottom one.

You're doing a great job. You happy with it, James?

Give James a big hand. You can sit back down. Give it up for James. Thank you

very much.

Now, what I'm going to try to do is get out of the street jacket. People have

done it before, but I have my own version and my own style. Let's do it.

the tough one.

I feel so much better.

Jeff McBride.

Is it possible to pull cards out of thin air?

Well, don't bet on it. But if you're dealing with Jeff McBride, hmm.

And that's it. You know how they did it? Because I sure don't. And that's

because they are the masters of illusion.

Be sure to catch us next time. I'm Dean Cain. Good night.
